There are two things that I cannot seem to fork over to pay a mechanic to do; changing my air filter or changing out my windshield wipers.
My stepdad is a mechanic and really likes NAPA so when I needed a new air filter and cabin filter, I thought of this place. Well, it was a good thing that I checked on their website for the store hours before heading over because they close a lot earlier than the other auto parts stores (6pm M-F and 4pm Sat). I was not in a rush to get the parts but it is something important to keep in mind.
The NAPA store is small in comparison to their competitors but I got exactly what I needed and it was actually a few bucks cheaper than their competitors. It was also pretty cool to hear that the guy checking out at the register next to me had put in an order that morning for a part and it was there by the afternoon for him to pickup.
I have generally had a good experience at any auto parts store I have been to (specifically auto parts stores, not tire or mechanic shops) and I don't necessarily have a preference. I like that NAPA had been longstanding in this industry and has been around since 1925. In addition, I believe they specialize in finding the exact part you need verses one that could be universal. Even just for my air filter, the salesman came out to my car to check my engine size. I will continue to go to NAPA unless I have an urgent need and they are closed. read more
