Quickly did a drive by to get my battery tested because a competitor informed me several days ago that I needed a new battery. I went inside and eventually was noticed by an employee, Christina. She will not win any Miss congenialty awards but she did come out and battery test my vehicle. It is a smart business strategy to offer the free testing and I noticed they do it on alternators too. Battery checked out and Christina recommended I drive it for 30 minutes to charge it. Dodged a bullet this time. She did tell me batteries are $150-$200 now. When I saw an auto parts store opening in my neighborhood, I was thrilled...yes, excited. I know, it's just the little things, but car troubles are a pain and the closer to a solution you are, the better. The times I have visited this AutoZone store, I have had good experiences. The store is clean, and has a good lay out with easy to find items in appropriate sections. The prices are competitive with other stores in the area. The staff have always been helpful and positive, suggesting best products and prices available, even helping out with small non-garage type needs on the car there at the store. Absolutely horrible. I've come to this particular autozone for over 5 years for all my needs. I've come at least 3 times to have the battery replaced in my Mercedes car key. This time, a guy dismissively tells me that they do not do that and never have, even though I told him I've gotten the service here before. The staff here has always been very friendly and helpful. I have come here for windshield wiper replacements, key batteries, and light bulbs. Each employee has always diagnose the problem and then helped me install the new item of installed it for me. Amazing quality service and great manager, Hamza. The manager (a middle eastern fellow) is very knowledgeable and saved me over $400 dollars. He advised a local guy, who does small repairs in Autozone parking lot, clean out my throttle body (instead of buying a new one) to pass inspection. It was great...the manager puts this location on the map. In addition (nudge), if you don't know much about cars, or are in a rush, they usually have a young mechanic guy (Chris?) who does "contract" work in the parking lot...it will save you some cash :). read more

Went in autozone for a few things today around 11:00 am. Nobody was at the counter or visible in the store at all even though both doors were wide open. After waiting a few minutes an older gentleman appeared from the back, he walked toward me and as he approached I thought he was gonna ask if I needed assistance or say something, instead he through up his hands in a disgusted motion as he almost ran me over and walked right past me. The employees and manager for the most part are very rude. On more than a few occasions my experience had been very negative. Most recently I purchased windshield wipers and the rep after attempting to install told me that he could not complete installation. I went to the High house location and the rep was amazed, quickly installing the wiper with a smile. The Morrisville location is convenient, however consistently fail at customer service. Amazing service!!! I called ahead to ask what time they closed. Shockingly he said 10pm, which was excellent and unexpected. A very polite young man named Chris offered to check to make sure the item I needed was in stock and said he would be waiting for me to arrive. He literally greeted me as I got out of my car with everything needed. He consulted with the manager, Hamza, who was also available immediately and very helpful. They took care of my issue and had me paid and out the door within 20 minutes. Their location and their manager were well known with both the dispatch and the tow truck driver that I had contacted. I was having trouble with my car battery so I brought it in. They charged it for me, but they found out there was something wrong with the battery itself. I got a ride home and put the battery back into my car, and drove it back here. While I was taking the battery out, the terminals for the battery broke in the parking lot! It was like everything was breaking down on me. Fortunately, Richard helped me find a solution for it. He let me use their tools to change out the terminals and found some great solutions for a new battery for me. Unfortunately, they didn't have the battery I needed in-stock, but he referred me to another auto zone really close by who had them. Without Richard's help, my cars bad battery and terminals probably would have left me stranded somewhere. My only complaint is that I was watching another guy put up a bunch of signs on the windows by himself for over an hour, and another guy came out and started yelling at him because one of the signs was a little off. Here's what I heard from the guy who was yelling at the dude putting up the signs... "you lazy piece of shit.. " "why can't you fucking do it right what is your problem... " " go home to your faggot boyfriend... " The sign guy left, and instead of the angry dude fixing the signs, he just looked at his phone for the remainder of the time I was there. I didn't get the names of either of these gentlemen, but it was a really awkward experience. read more

I thought I would give this place another try during the week, I came in after a recent trip for routine maintenance at a dealership and not sure what the dealership does for their checkpoints of service but luckily I noticed a tail light was not working. Stopped in and a very nice young man working there helped me out! Made sure it was the correct part and actually replaced both for me---kudos!!!! We have done tons of business with autozone and have Always been able to speak with sales representatives that are well educated and know what they are talking about when it come to repairs on every day vehicles. The last couple of weeks we have tried to do business with Autozone in Fallon, we have experienced far less intelligent sales reps... they don't have a clue what they are talking about and they are unable to help us obtain parts. I am Very Dissapointed with the New people Autozone has hired recently. During an interview, I would expect the Boss would make sure that the representatives had a good understanding of what they would be expected to know. Check credentials?! The people who work here are helpful, patient, and efficient-- that's about my highest compliment. I came in today with a teething, cranky baby. I needed windshield wipers. Did I know what size I needed? No. Someone behind the counter happily looked up the sizes I needed and then showed me where they were. I was checked out promptly, and they even installed the windshield wipers for me because I had my hands full. The layout of the store is logical, and prices seemed reasonable. One bad apple: Went in to purchase automotive products at 1017 MORRISVILLE-C, MORRISVILLE, NC 27560 store and noticed specials signage and needed clarification on the terms of the specials. I looked around and behind about 10 feet away was the manager of the store straightening out products on the shelves. There was only two other customers in the store but noted that there were at least three employees. I said "excuse me sir, I have a question." No response and I looked at him and instead of him pausing what he was doing, he just looked at me without any acknowledgment. Awkward silence and his response was in a impatient tone "I'm listening." The manager conveyed the lack of any customer service skills. I was put off by his attitude and said "thats okay." After he knew I did not care much for his half attempt to assist, he finally got up from his stocking and approached but I was already headed out the door without purchasing. I can see if he was in the middle of assisting another customer or if there was a line of people waiting, but this definitely was not the case. I was not in a rush, just had a simple question which could have been answered in less than 60 seconds (which cost his business $83.59 in lost sales). I know retail and budgets are set each day and any sale no matter how small, effects the bottom line. Ive shopped at this location for years but when the management lacks the enthusiasm and CS skills to assist a paying customer, then I make the conscious decision to take my business their competitor. Please inform your teams that no matter how much stocking there is, if a customer is around, at least follow a 10 foot rule to make contact and see if any assistance is needed. Every other employee in the past has assisted very well. As a manager, he should represent the business with exceptional CS. If this particular manager can't improve on his CS skills, cut your losses and hire someone with soft skills. read more
