Was given a $300 quote to replace brakes. Within two hours, the quote of $300 became $800. They claimed that a car part was cracked and so that made the car inoperable. They are charging me $150 for "tying up their lift" for three hours. Now the car doesn't work and I'm being forced to pay to tow my car off the lot at my own expense. Unfortunately reading the reviews I excepted to get my wheels aligned but instead I got ripped off. I first got a quote for $50 dollars for an alignment and then the guy said he didn't know what was wrong with car I told them let me go fix it and I'll come back but they said to me to pay for a diagnostic check but nothing was done to the car when I agreed to pay for 25 which was not required for me to pay they came back with a receipt for 42.90. It's Crazy how people like this still exist and open up these shops and take advantage of people. read more

This place is on the edge of the 'hood. You will definitely be looking over your shoulder as constantly there are people walking and driving by who will be staring at and measuring you. Huge rims, vulgar rap music and the like. But these guys, and a gal or two, here are great. I've been here three times now and I've never had a reason to go elsewhere for my tire needs. My first visit was to diagnose a tire that always seemed to go flat by the time I got to the parking lot after work. Two other places wouldn't even look at the tire and both wanted me to buy a new tire. This place took the tire off, dunked it in water, and checked it very carefully before announcing it was a small leak at the base of the valve (which cannot be seen unless the tire is removed from the rim, which they did). New valve installed and charged me $7. This latest visit found me with a tire that just wasn't going to pass inspection due to severely worn tread. This greatly annoys me because it is the same tire I had just last year purchased from the dealer (yeah I know). My tech put the tire on a balancing diagnostic machine and told me that the tire hadn't even been balanced when it was put on my car. Sigh... really? That explains the slight vibration and the irregular wear. I had almost convinced myself that my car might be in need of an alignment. So instead of paying a few hundred bucks for an unnecessary alignment I was pleasantly surprised with a new-looking used tire with a price tag of $32. Not only that but no more vibration! If you are in this area and need a tire (or a set) and/or some wheel/tire repair come take a look. Oh... they have a practice here, probably to prevent some shady folks from driving off after repair/replacement completed, of keeping your car jacked up until you pay. Plus the tech will walk with you and stay until the transaction is completed. By the time you sign your slip he will have lowered your car and it'll be ready to drive. It is an interesting approach to go through but given the area it's in I am not too terribly surprised. Happy wheelin'! read more

I went there today and up until today my trips had been good actually three days I had to have a spare rotation so the guy in the office charged me 5.36 so I was like wow great price to had to go back bc I was taking rims off my car and putting the other tires back because I didn't have enough to buy 4 tires to go back on the rim so I go back today to get the last two done they get to the last one and was like we can't take it off bc the stud may break and u will have to pay $125 for us to fix. So I was so confused bc they was the ones that put them on in 2020 and they had never been tooken off that's y the tires were so bad but I think it was so unprofessional for them to charge me for a mistake that they did I will never return back any law advice should I sue the company read more

This is not a review I wanted to write, but unfortunately I had a tire blow while driving on Saturday. I called Tire Guy when I got home and they were able to help me right away. I drove (super slowly) there - it's conveniently just outside of downtown and accessible by both a main road (MLK) and smaller neighborhood streets. Before they saw the tire with the giant hole, they pointed out a tire that was nearly bald. I appreciate that they were proactive to let me know about a potential issue. We then looked at all of the tires and a second one was pretty worn. We talked through my options and they suggested I replace all 4 so they would all be consistent and that I would also get a free alignment. I never felt pressured to choose this option. We also talked through the different price points for tires and I wasn't pressured to buy the expensive ones. I also never felt any sexism. I had the option to wait but chose to walk home and wait. About 2 hours later I got the call and walked back and picked up my car. I am impressed with the quick turnaround especially on a Saturday! I have come here in the past to have a tubeless wheelbarrow tire refilled. They did it without question and without charging me. That type of great customer service will keep me coming back! When I arrived at the shop, I was met with two technicians who were informative and advised me of several hypotheticals that could occur from purchasing USED tires. Came here after a blow out, and just needed a tire. Since I was not going to get a set of four, I just decided to get one used tire. They had a large selection of used and new tires. With the used tires, some were in great condition, and some had some feathering on them. They also sell rims at this location also. The shop was very clean and orderly. They have two waiting rooms from what I was told, one has heat, the other does not. I was in the one that didn't. They charge $35 plus tax for a used tire. You might be able to find some cheaper at other locations, but I didn't feel like driving around all day. The owner try to punch me today after I picked up my car after they changed two tires and we found the driver's seat broken front the bottom. Please stay away from this place. He butchered my alignment, was supposed to fix the engine and a month later my after my dash was reset the check engine light is still on, and after I got it back from them an "AT" light is also on now. He messed up my car worse than it was when I dropped it off and due to his ignorance he wouldn't take accountability and fix his mistakes. Being brand new to the NC, I'd never had to have a vehicle inspection before and was a little nervous about it. I knew I'd need tires so looked around Yelp for a place with good reviews that had some used tires in case. Decided on these guys and went first thing in the morning. A nice gentlemen came out to meet us and ask what we needed and addressed my concerns about inspection. He confirmed I'd need tires and proceeded with the rest of the inspection. Then another super nice guy brought me back and showed me I could get some new tires for not much more than the used ones. He wasn't pushy at all, just informative. We went with the new tires and they were installed and we were on the road in no time. Professional, courteous service, good prices, and lots of bays to get you in and out. They claim to have a warranty but, The second you go back to get said warranty checked all of a sudden it's something you have done and the warranty doesn't pertain to that. They are all pieces of shit in here. And if you act upset or get mad about the money you spent that they don't want to help you to get what is deserved for your money, they start talking about calling cops. The manger James and his pit bull friend are all talk when it comes to you spending money, but the second you do you're pretty much fucked if something happens. Do yourself a favor and go to Discount Tire and get your tires, at least the will patch your tire for free, have a/c for you to sit in while you wait and stand by their warranty. read more

I am so disappointed in my experience at Tire Guy. Only 1 week and 3 days ago, I received an alignment, and purchased 2 tires (on front passenger side, and one at rear). This weekend I traveled out of town. As I was preparing to travel back home, the passenger tire (purchased & installed at Tire Guy) was flat. A family member put on my donut, and we traveled to a nearby tire shop. Once we arrived at the tire shop, the mechanic discovered that the tire sold to me by Tire Guy had 3 patches inside of the tire. During the the leak test, water actually splattered and sprayed everywhere from 1 of the more crappy patches. In his opinion, this faulty patch was the cause of my flat tire. The mechanic could not believe that this tire was sold to me in this condition, even as a used tire. Not only did this tire have 3 significant patches, the tire tread depth was nearly to the point of being considered legally worn. Needless to say, I had to purchase a brand new tire. Now I'm concerned about the condition of the 2nd tire that was installed on my car by Tire Guy, so I will be going to another tire shop today. Today, 1st thing this morning, I went back to Tire Guy with the hopes that they would make this right and refund my money. I was not even asking for a full refund, just for the refund of the bad tire that in my opinion should not have even initially been placed on my car. Per their website "Our used tires have been thoroughly inspected and pressure tested, guaranteeing unmatched quality and dependability.... For your convenience our used tires come standard with a 45-day warranty." Once I arrived, I spoke with a manager who examined the tire, and while he seemed apologetic, unfortunately they would not refund my money but could only exchange the tire. He noted that this information was listed on my receipt. He printed a receipt and showed me a clause of no refunds - exchanges only within 45 days. In my opinion, this is an unfair policy to have, and maybe an exception should have been made, considering someone negligently installed a noticeably damaged tire in the first place. He offered to give me a credit there for future use, but honestly after this experience I have no intentions of ever coming back to this place, so I refused the credit. How can you patronize a business that you cannot trust? If tires are thoroughly inspected for quality and durability, AS THE WEBSITE CLAIMS, how was I sold a tire in such a horrible condition? I had no way of knowing this, because damage was only visible from the inside of the tire. On the brightside, at least this happened while I was in a safe area. I'm thankful I didn't have a blowout while driving on the highway, which could have endangered not only my life, but the life of others. HUGE LESSON LEARNED.... I WILL NEVER BE BACK! BUYERS BEWARE. Ask questions BEFORE YOU PURCHASE & BEFORE THEY BEGIN ANY SERVICE. Ask to see the exact tire that they will be installing on your vehicle BEFORE it's too late. In my opinion you cannot trust Tire Guy at all to have the customer's best interests in mind, only $$$. If so, Tire Guy WOULD NOT be knowingly selling & installing damaged used tires on their customer's vehicles. Perhaps TIRE GUY should update its website to include that damaged tires=used tires AND no refunds, even if TIRE GUY made an egregious error on their end. Know that if you purchase a used tire from TIRE GUY, they accept no liability, and you could get sold a bad product. Do not expect them to take responsibility, because of an "AS IS" clause that is listed on the bottom of the receipt AFTER YOU PAY. Perhaps people should be made aware of this policy BEFORE they even start. I left TIRE GUY without a refund, without a future credit, angry,upset, feeling bamboozled, and at a financial loss. My bank account was hit twice... Once paying for crap materials at TIRE GUY, and twice paying for another tire shop to replace and fix TIRE GUY's work. read more

It clearly was a manufacturing defect with a 40,000 mile warranty but they refused to replace them! They tried to make up every excuse in the automotive industry! I have been coming here for years. I get all my cars inspected here and any service on my tires. The customer service agents are very nice and the service team is excellent. Everyone is knowledgeable and respectful. There are plenty of bays so there is rarely a wait to get your car serviced. There is a nice waiting room that is clean and comfortable. I have been able to wait on my car and it never takes more than an hour. It's less than $40 for inspections(fees may apply) and the last flat that needed to be fixed was less than $20. I bought my rim there yesterday to get fixed the man said it can be yesterday or tomorrow which is today because of the kind of work that had to be done . informed my bf of what they said because he told me to go there he want yo there to find out what was taking so long and why it would be the next day. TAKING ADVANTAGE OF BECAUSE I AM A WOMAN I went to Tire Guy on 12/07/2020 on Rock Quarry Road Raleigh, and requested a frontend alignment. I was told there was something going on with my front end and they needed to do a dialogistic that cost $25.00. This amount would be applied to my services. James came back and told me that it was the ball joints that was lose and they would tighten them and will not charge me for that service, and then do the frontend alignment. He came back and said I would need two tires at $100.00 each. I told him that was fine. He told me the price would be $315.00. I waited for an hour and didn't hear anything about the status of my car. I went out to where my car was and saw someone driving it around the back side of the shop. Thinking that they were moving it around the back side to another person to finish doing the work. Waited another 45mins., and still didn't hear anything on the status of my car. I went and found James to find out what was going on and he didn't know. He went and look at computer and told me then that there was an issue with the wheel bearing. I asked him when he was going to say something to me about that. He had no answer. I asked him to get me a quote on that service. We went into the office and he asked the guy at the desk to do a quote on the service of the wheel bearing. He gave me a sheet stating an amount over $500.00. I need told him to give me a statement for the tires that they had already put on my car. He said the total was $242.00. I asked him what that amount for? He said that it was for two tires at $100.00 each and work on the ball joints. I said to him repeatedly that he told me that I would not be charged for the work on the ball joints. I asked who the other manager on duty and he was said the other manager would not be back on site for four (4) days. He stated that I could call back to talk to the manager. I said to him, if I do that then I would be talking to him since he was the only manager on duty at that time. I asked him to go get my car, and again I said to him "you are charging me for something that you (James) told me that I would not be charge for. I paid the invoice. I returned to ask the guy that worked on my car what was the issue with it. I recorded him what he said on my phone and then went to James and recorded him as well. Then he told me that a guy name Eric was the other manager. Then I went back into the office into the office and asked a guy name Joseph said that this was a corporation and there were shareholders. He said that he was one of the managers on site. He was not going to talk to me until I turned off the camera. I told him I was instructed to record what they said. Since he wouldn't talk to him with the camera on, I left. The tires on my front were showing a bit too much wear for my liking and becoming a safety issue, but I didn't have the luxury of getting "new" tires. A friend recommended Tire Guy. I was very skeptical as what kind of product I could get from a used tire place (didn't know they existed). Was I surprised. I got two almost new tires were the same brand and size as what I was replacing. The customer service was amazing with knowledgable and friendly staff and the facility was clean. I was going to be needing a state inspection soon so I had them take care of that as well. (They replaced a tail light [parts & labor] for $9!). Sure the location and staff look a little rough even for a tire place... but don't let that scare you away. This Tire Guy is great. read more

Second time going to Tire Guy and just so happen while I'm there they notice one of my tires had bubbled up. The technician told me it look like my tire had been hit however there were no scuff marks where the bubble on the tire was.. So I assumed that was a manufacturer's defect. So I looked at the tire I saw nothing that look like weave could have possibly hit a pothole.
