I got an oil change here and was happy with the convenience of the location, the online booking, and service turnaround time. The car was ready when promised and I had no complaints. They did an inspection and recommended some additional services, but didn't push the recommendations more than needed and answered my questions about how badly the services were needed. I want to give a shout out to their mechanic Kit. I took my car in to get it aligned and he noticed that my key fob didn't work. He went above and beyond by replacing the battery. I am beyond impressed and grateful for this. The fob quit working a couple of years ago and I tried replacing the battery. It still wouldn't work. I tried reprogramming it and that didn't work. I had come to the conclusion that it was broken and I wasn't willing to spend the amount of money required to buy a new fob when I could just lock and unlock it with the key. Thanks to Kit I have this feature back. So much for trusting Firestone...... my daughter, who knows little about cars, but had learned enough to not automatically let shops do what they suggest took her 2013 civic in for an oil change which was completed. The technician advised her the battery was weak and not holding a charge, it is less than 6 months old. Also that the windshield wipers needed replacing, which I personally inspected and are both fine, that the tires needed rotating (were installed new also less than 4 months ago by Discount tire - who you can trust) and finally that the brake fluid was sludge and without a $80 flush, was risky to drive to the beach. I have been working on cars for 30 years (also a Chemical engineer) and inspected her fluid to find it's only a little amber colored and perfect viscosity. I so hate these type of shops that prey on their customers. Be advised and get a second opinion before you spend your hard earned money on a lot of services that are not needed. read more

I have had several cars serviced regularly at this Firestone and in my experience, they have consistently offered exceptional service. Thorough, capable, and great customer service, very friendly and courteous. Today I took my fairly new car in for an oil change (wasn't sure if it needed it yet) and they told me the oil looked fine. They checked out the tires, filters and fluid levels and added washer fluid, all as part of their courtesy check at no charge. Everyone wore masks the entire time and observed social distancing. I made an appt online late afternoon on Saturday for a Sunday morning 11:00 appointment. I got a call back confirming the appt and was told that the tires I was looking for were in one of two locations, both over an hour away from the store I chose. I picked one of the two brands available for my tire and was told no problem, we will have your tires in house to install. I found out that the manager actually went to Fayettville early Sunday (this despite knowing he would be short staffed with one employee out on medical leave) morning at 8 am to get the tires and be back in time to install them at 11:00. He told me that their normal Currier service runs later on Sundays and would not have been back in time so he took it upon himself to get them. Service did take a bit longer than I expected but it was because I had requested a cabin air filter change that they were waiting on. No worries there again since I had requested a Sunday morning appointment. Most stores would have told me they would not be able to get me in so I am grateful for the service provided. read more

I had a great experience here. Today was my first time coming here, and I will again. Artie at the front desk was very kind and courteous. The wait was very reasonable and the lobby chairs are spaced out for Covid. After finding one nail in my tire, they brought me back to show me a bad patch job done by a different tire shop. Apparently they left the nail, and put the gum on top of it, nail and all. So the tip was sticking out of the inside of the tire. The whole tire had to be replaced, and I will be following up with the other tire shop I went to. They loaded up the tire in my trunk so I can show it to the other tire shop. Unfortunately, my last experience at this location left me not to return again. Customer service and timeliness was nice enough, but it was ultimately the close of the sale. During a routine oil change, the sale associate had notice that I needed a set of tires in which he pitched, I declined the service. Upon the close of the sale, the first associate was not available and a 'fill-in guy' was his replacement. Associate #2 felt it necessary to again press-in about his recommendation for me to purchase a set of tires during my visit. I was annoyed... I thought, 'didn't I just hear this same pitch'. He even went further to embellish his push by adding that there were 2 nails in my tire that could not be pulled and filled because they were close together...smh. I didn't feel very confident that he was truthful, 'maybe because his shifty eyes' weren't comfortable enough to look me in my eyes and tell me such a story. I left Firestone right away to corroborate his diagnosis. True enough, there were NO double nails so close that could not be simply plugged. Sad to say, I had to go to another tire service to get the single nail pulled and plugged. With this shameless con, I didn't feel very confident about the full synthetic, new oil filter replacement service, I paid for... But couldn't check behind them on that. Sales quotas are one thing, but Honest car service and mechanics are priceless. I wish this were a better review. Ladies beware. read more

Great experience with the manager on Sunday, 11/15. Had issue with jeep Wrangler and he quickly saw what was wrong. Called the Apex store as he didn't have the right staff to repair. Had to get jeep towed to Apex store and they got me in even though they were busy. I was visiting from Charlotte and plan was to go home today. Was advised jeep isn't drivable and after the Apex store diagnosed and confirmed the issue they needed parts. Their quick help allowed me to rent a car before they closed at 12. If they didn't listen or waited for appointments I would have been stuck another night in Cary and miss school and work. The manager at Cary took me in knowing I had no place to stay or car to ride and even helped me get my daughter at the swim meet after it was over. Dropped my car for oil change and most importantly tire patch because i got a nail on it, and was told to be contacted, received a missed call but busy at the time then i tried calling back few times but phone numbers couldn't reach. Then "I called back" and was told the car was done, ok. Went and pick up the car and was told "everything done but the tire because we couldn't call you". After one tried, didn't leave no voicemail, didn't even mind calling me to pick up my car until I called and DID NOT even care to put the new sticker for next oil estimate. Until I asked for 1 and so he asked if i wanted him to put it on , then he slapped one on top of my previous sticker unevenly . Wish I could give 5 Stars. I've been going to this location forever... even before they were Firestone. I make sure to have them only take care of oil/brake/tire issues. Great deal on lifetime alignment. I'm there very regularly. I can't give 5 stars because when it comes to major repairs they suggest they have been WRONG 4 times and crazy expensive on the quote. Thankfully I had a second opinion done and have saved myself needless work and close to $3K. I go elsewhere if I want anything other than oil/brake/tire work done. Sad because the people at front are professional and courteous and definitely know how to get some things right, but I always advise people to go elsewhere for major repairs. read more

Like a lot of people come online trying to find a decent auto shop but not easy to find the right place. Figure places services thousands of cars but you're only going off of a handful review. For the person in the same situation as me I'll give you my non auto-expert assessment. Pros: Very friendly staff personnel with good customer service rapport. Prices seem competitive and you can find discounts. Walking distance to mall so if you're waiting you can do some shopping. They do online appointments (although just keep in mind it's not like they're going to your own personal space waiting you for you when you arrive; if they're packed up it can still take some time before they look at your vehicle). In-between: Not just this Firestone but others I've been to will do a more thorough inspection of your car that what you probably anticipated. If you bring it in for one thing, they might also suggest one or two other things. If you haven't had your car looked at in a while this to me is a good thing. If you're in a hurry and only wanted that one thing you came for taken care it could be a pain. End of day as long as time isn't an issue probably not a bad thing. And while you have to make an immediate decision whether to get something more than what you may have came to end of day no one is putting a gun to your head and if you don't want it you can say no. Cons: Again back to the time issue. Their business model maybe doesn't lend itself to be as timely as some places where the focus is more on getting people in and out as quickly as possible. Not that they're intentionally making you wait longer (although trust me I know sometimes it feels like it). Overall I was fairly happy with my experience as a first time customer. I'm sure though you might find a local non-brand name place that does a better job. But you could also probably find a whole lot worse. read more

Had a great experience there today. I asked them to provide me with a list of what they recommended and it aligned very well with what I'd anticipated. I had a lot of work done and they turned it around in just a little over two hours. I was also impressed with the precautions that are being taken there to ensure safety during COVID: All the staff wear masks (even in the bay) and the floor in the front office is marked off in 6' sections for social distancing. There are signs up everywhere reminding everyone to adhere to their requests, and the place was spotless. Highly recommend! read more

Booking the appointment was incredibly easy. 10 stars on that one. Repairing the vehicle is a different story. I made an appointment for early in the morning as I had other appointments to make that day. I just wanted them to tell me where an oil leak is coming from and humming noise from rear. This service should have taken 1 hour max. I got there and they took me right in. Went to store across the street to kill time and came back an hour later to find out my car was still in the same parking spot, in the same orientation and with one tire on the line (my bad) the way I left it. I went inside to see what is going on with it and the service rep said they looked at it, but the tech couldn't figure out what was wrong so they were going to give it to another tech. So they have techs there that can't even figure out where a leak is coming from? I could have done that myself, if I had access to a lift. I knew it was a lie because the car never moved. So they are either have extremely unqualified technicians working there or they are a bunch of lying fools that don't care. I'll them pick which one they want to be. I went to another shop that answered my question within an hour. read more

Caught them in DECEPTIVE BUSINESS PRACTICES. Went in for a state inspection. Failed the inspection for a "cracked" serpentine belt, which they kindly offered to replace it for $130. I declined and inspected the belt myself. No damage or abnormal wear. Had the sales guy look at it. He saw no reason to fail an inspection. Ultimately had the store manager look at it. He did a full inspection of the belt with his flashlight. Again, no issues found. The inspector wouldn't reverse his decision. Called Firestone to complain and haven't hear anything back for weeks. The only reason they failed the vehicle was so they could sale me a new belt. I took it to another shop and passed the inspection no problem. read more

Okay so the first time we decided to start going to this particular place was a while ago and we chose it because it was a big name and it was also very close to our home. My car originally died in the Starbucks drive through- which is like right beside the firestone so we had it towed there. They diagnosed it as a crack in a cap or something (so long ago I don't remember the exact diagnosis) and had it fixed. We were up and on the road again. The next time my jeep died-like wouldn't start/turn over, nothing- we were happy enough with our previous experiences there to return. The technician gave us a verdict of a blown head gasket. Of course they aren't an engine shop so we had to call around and get a couple of quotes- the least expensive one being around $1200. We ended up taking it to my mother in laws trusted mechanic In Garner whom she has used for years and she swears by. He discovers that it is not a blown head gasket (which we should've known bc the fluid was NOT milky white). It in fact was a water pump that needed to be replaced. The next time the jeep needed to be looked at we were a little hesitant to take it back to firestone but hey mechanics are humans too and everyone is allowed to make mistakes occasionally. Diagnosis: blown head gasket again. We were a little hesitant this time so we got a second opinion. The other mechanics ended up replacing the thermostat and radiator. There was nothing at all wrong with the head gasket!! Seems to me like the go to diagnosis of this place is a blown head gasket. Probably a good place to get oil changes and tires done but for serious car issues or diagnostics go somewhere else or get a second opinion!! Otherwise you might end up paying to fix something. That really isn't broken while the real problem goes unfixed. read more

I've used this location for several years, starting after the store on High House closed, for all three of my vehicles. I've had nothing but problems with them. 1) They won't even touch my older truck (2003). Claiming that it's in bad shape. Well, maybe you should suggest what needs to be fixed/replaced? 2) They have charged me for work that was never done. 3) They rarely complete service when they state they will. And to top it all off they won't let you know that the vehicle will not be ready when stated. You have to call them to find out. It's almost as if they don't want your business. 4) They will try to get you to pay for work that is already covered under their lifetime warranties. I had to pull my copy of a receipt for lifetime breaks on one vehicle before they would give me the discount. Even though the work was in their system. I truly wish the High House store had never closed. That was a store that was run well by people that actually did what they said they would in a timely and professional manner! read more

Choice Auto Repair in Raleigh told me they needed to be replaced and they were going to charge me over $500 just to replace the pads. Not happy with their service. I went in to get new tires and was told I had to replace my rack. Two years later I have a torn boot which should have be fine two years later. I even went in again and was told I needed a new tire rod, but no one noticed the problem with the rack replacement. I was told today by another service station that the rack was installed improperly. My car has made a noise since they worked on it last. Avoid this place. read more
