Went to get car alignment done. Once it was complete, the car would skid on turns and steering became loose. Went back in to get it fixed, told them the car was driving fine before it, it has some side damage, so when the manager went and checked it he said it was due to that. A little odd that accountability couldn't be taken by the arrogant manager, who offered a 'free alignment check' for an issue they caused. Once that was done, the car is still unfixed, damage caused by DiscountTire, with management having dishonest practices and inability to take accountability. The car is now dangerous to drive as one nudge off center at speeds above 50 will skid back tires. Though they will try to milk out as much money from you as possible, so go here if you want that. read more

I can't speak for their tire changing services and prices since I only went in for their free tire repair service. I went in because a potential puncture in my Tesla tire, and heard reviews of others taking their Tesla and I wanted to ensure my car would be serviced by qualified technicians. I think it seemed fine, it was pretty packed when I went in cause it felt like rush hour, but all in all it only took 1 hour total. I've been a customer at the NC 55 shop for years. They do a good job, are good at what they do. Customers need to be aware that this shop automatically enrolls you in the tire protection plan. I think this is a bad business practice that can take advantage of folks. When I asked the service person he said they rely on customers calling it out or declining the service. Let's begin this nightmare of a place. A few months back my daughter purchased 2 new tires from the store and when she went to pay the price was a lot higher then when she priced the tires. The reason being was the person slid a tire warranty on each tire without asking if it was something she wanted and promptly asked for that to be removed. Then she got home and realized they kept the key to her locknut on the rims and had to go back and pick that back up. Fast forward to this week. She got a piece of metal in another tire which thankfully was not one of the new ones she just purchased. So she called and asked for the price for the same identical tires as the last ones and the price. They did not have the tires in stock but in order to get them in she would have to give a $25 deposit and if she chose to not get the tires when they came in they would not refund the money. Otherwise the money was taken off the bill. She dropped the vehicle off in her way to work and I went to pick the vehicle up and noticed that the new tires were not the same as the ones she previously had purchased. I asked to speak to a manager and Brandon came out and I asked him to point out to me what the problem was. After looking he asked if I wanted 2 different brands of tires and I let him know at that point no we sure didn't. He said let's go in and see when I can get the tires here and of course would be the next day. He then looked up the price and said if the tires we wanted were more then he would eat the cost, if they were less he would refund us the money. Lo and behold the tires she asked for to start with were lower in price and a refund was processed. She went back today to have the correct tires put on and when she got home and went to properly put away the lug nut key she realized that the package that she kept it in along with the other 4 spare non locking lug nuts were missing. She called back to the store and Brandon informed her it was a mistake on the installers end and they have them. So once again we are returning back to the store to pick them up. So the moral of the story is if you're a female don't shop here alone because they are predators waiting to take advantage of a female. They first unethically put warranty plans on your purchase that you aren't asked about or told about. Then they upsell you tires without your knowledge or consent. Then they "forgot" to put things back in your vehicle and you have to spend your gas and time to fix their errors. So if you like wasting time and money along with getting taken advantage of as a female? Look no further. We have purchased from them in the past and had good luck, but this will be our last time using them since something has changed and has cost us time and money. read more

Today is July 5, 2025 at 1:25pm. I went in for a tire punction repair. Since I still got the warranty, its covered and I waited for 2.5 hrs to be serviced. As they estimated, they did complete the patch at 1:25pm. However, they lost my Toyota TRD OEM Aluminum Valve Cap. It also happened in March this year when I had my 4 tires replaced and lost 1 of the valve caps. I went in the service bay to help them look for it, but to no avail. The front desk did promised to reimburse it, I just need to bring in the receipt. While I was helping them look for it, I saw a lot of valve caps lying around the floor - some of them are high grade Nitrogen Valve caps. I would recommend that they take care of the valve caps when servicing their client. Though, its a minimal cost, but will be an inconvenience to their customer. I've been bringing my car to Toyota dealership for routine maintenance and never lost a valve cap when they do tire rotations or TPM replacement. I believe this can be done. Thanks. read more

Pro tips: - best to do your own research online, they will price match tires you find online. Make sure to look at Walmart / tire rack / Costco. You can even get them to price match amazon sometimes. - schedule an appointment online. Super, super easy to do. Much easier than calling in. This particular shop is busy so you can wait 2 hours if you're doing a walk in. - decision to get their add on warranty per tire is dependent on how you drive. If you buy from them they will patch your tire if you have a flat for free, even without the added discount tires warranty. If it's blown and they can't patch then sometimes the tires baseline warranty can help but usually you're out of luck if you didn't buy the additional discount tires warranty. That said, If you're NOT an aggressive driver, I would NOT recommend the additional discount tires warranty! If you're an aggressive driver and prone to blown tires and wearing out your tires then it's definitely worth it. - not all discount tire shops are the same. Had a terrible experience with one in western NC when on a business trip. Luckily discount tires corporate helped resolve the issue without issues. I have been going to this particular one for 15+ years with 5 total cars over that time and 95% of the time the experience has been absolutely fantastic. We chose and ordered new tires for me. We made an appt for a few days after. They called and left a voicemail when the tires arrived and told me I could come in sooner if wanted. Excellent COVID precautions- you drive up and scan a bar code to put your name on a waiting list, then sit in the lot with your flashers on. They come over, ask you what you need then have you drive into a bay. You get out and wait and then when they're done they have you come get your car.
