TLDR: Great customer service. Reasonable prices and wait times. Indoor waiting area. Convenient location in plaza with a cafe and restaurants. Took our vehicle here for state inspection. They don't take appointments for inspections so it is first-come, first serve. Since it was fairly busy, I was told it would take about 45 minutes. They have seating inside, however, I decided to wait at a nearby coffee shop. They took down my number and said they would call when ready for pick-up. After about 20 minutes I received a call informing me that the vehicle would fail inspection since one of the windshield wipers was torn. They offered to replace one, both, or neither (for me to replace myself or at a different location). When asked, he informed me of the price options. The prices were reasonable so I asked to swap them both out for $50. He called back about 5 minutes later to report the vehicle passed inspection with the new wiper blades. I returned, paid inside, and picked up my vehicle. Total came to a little under $90 for the wiper blades and inspection. Overall, excellent quick and quality service with great communication. I recommend this auto shop to others! read more

DID NOT PROVIDE SERVICE: BUYER BEWARE Took my Audi here and asked for a simple oil change ($150) and to have coolant added in the car. They took down my number and said they would call when the car was ready in about 40 minutes. Two hours later I had to call them because I still had not received a call and they closed in 30 minutes. When I arrived they said they weren't able to add coolant because they didn't have the correct kind in shop but the oil was changed. FOUR days later (13mi) since they supposedly changed the oil, a family friend (who is a mechanic) looked at the oil and said it was BLACK and that there was no way the oil had been recently changed. I spoke with the manager (Chris) and he immediately said "I don't know what you expect me to do?" And that he was 100% certain the oil was changed, even though he admitted the shop had issues in the past with people not providing services!!! Had major issues after replacing lower control arms. Wrong arms installed and the tech let me leave driving in a unsafe manner. This shop been pretty on point for previous services up until now. All my parts was replaced with correct parts and spindles replaced also. Great shop just not sure about the technical skill level. The manager Chris was completely rude. He has a terrible attitude and zero ability to be a manager. I used them in the past for maintenance on my Audi which they screwed up and caused major issues. I should not have considered going back this past week but I decided to give them another try. I didn't move forward simply due to the attitude I received. This is a little late, as the work was done a few weeks ago, however the team at GarnerAuto Services went far beyond what I would have expected from a mechanic. In addition to working around my schedule to troubleshoot my truck, they transported it to a muffler shop for additional repairs, and spent their time putting additional miles on the computer so that it would reset reset and pass the state inspection requirement. Thank you seems inadequate for them, and to find someone who is willing to go above and beyond to help a customer who is obviously frustrated, means that they have earned my future business. My car needed an oil change so I drove by and asked one of the employees if they could fit me in. They right away took the vehicle into the bay and began inspecting it. We went into the lobby and sat down. Watched some tv while we waited. The employee approached us and provided all the information on what he was going to do and price. As a single women and being new to the area I was very nervous and didn't really know who I could trust with my car repairs so when my car broke down at work one day I took it to the closest shop I could find. When they indicated it was going to cost @ $1,600 and up to repair I decided to get a second opinion. THANK GOODNESS I did as the team at Garner Auto Specialists had me back on the road in no time and at a cost MUCH less than what the other place was going to charge. Fast forward a few months to present - my car started making noise and I was afraid to drive it so I again took it to the shop close to work......below is what they wrote up after having it in their shop a full day....... "It sounds like the valvetrain, either a bad lifter(Valve Lash Adjuster), worn camshaft, worn VVT solenoid, Or worn Timing chain tensioner/guides. At this time it is hard to isolate if it is only one side of the engine. Sounds like it is coming from both sides of the motor or its a chain problem. This would need tear down of the valve covers on both sides to possibly find out the exact source of the problem. This is a severe problem that needs to be dealt with ASAP and will cause engine failure in the future. Found 2 service bulletins for the truck regarding this problem., There are no exhaust leaks. Noise is internal to the engine. The Noise that we hear is coming from the internals of the valvetrain" I again decided I needed a second opinion so I brought it to Garner Auto Specialists - turns out it was only a loose spark plug!!! Was given an oral quote of $600-$700 to replace the two front tie rods on a small Chevy pickup. I bought the parts for $100 and it took 30 minutes each side laying on my garage floor. Have an idea of what the repair should cost before allowing them to work on your vehicle. Definitely lost all trust for this place and would not recommend it for work on your vehicle. read more

They're very nice people, but the prices are inflated! I went in to have the thermostat replaced and they ended up quoting me a price of $1100.00 in repairs. They did an diagnostic test and charged me $60.00 at that time they told me one code came back. I left the car for them to check. Received a call 2 hours later stating they found 3 codes! They did a smoke test that they quoted me a price of $160.00 when I received the invoice the charge was $181.62, on top of the $60.54 diagnostic test, so with taxes I received a bill for $271.43 and my car is still in the same condition. I will not be returning to this shop. read more

Took my vehicle there and they said I needed a special synthetic oil and the bill was three times as much as another local shop for the same service. Main issue was when I took my car there for a state inspection and I had recently had my windshield wipers replaced but the manager said I needed new wipers. I immediately said no stop don't do the inspection because that can't be true. He said ok and continued the inspection and tried to charge me for a failed inspection. He never said "sir we have already started the inspection and I will Have to charge you for a failed inspection". I refused to pay and he called the police! I went down the road the same day and it passed. I believe this is a normal practice for these guys to just add stuff to increase profits. I will continue to tell everyone I know about their practice. My advice is check your blades before you go for your inspection. read more

Boy do these people have quick service, and the free vacuum is great! I went here for an oil change and the technician asked if there were any other concerns that I had about my vehicle. They addressed them swiftly and gave a quotes for my other concerns. The service was fast! Michelle was very pleasant and all the men were real gentlemen. Love the idea of the member perks. Right now my husband and I need to use a $5 off coupon, $10 off coupon, free tire rotation and 2 free car washes. I had many issues with my car the last few weeks and it finally decided not to start. I found this place online since it was close to where I live s. I was able to drop my car off and communicated with Chris about what was going on with it. He went above and beyond with keeping me up to date on my cars status, was extremely timely with looking at my car, explained what was going on with the car and how to fix it in a way I could understand (I am not car savvy). Well, the love affair is over. 2 years after having them replace my starter, I had to bring it back and get another one put in. The problem was clearly the starter or battery, but not likely the battery. They did the"diagnostic" and told me it was battery+starter. Total price: $790 dollars. They charged for the diagnosis, rebuilt starter, battery, and wire to the battery... 323 dollars for a few hours labor. When I protested this exorbitant price, I got no apologies. I know the owner isn't paying his mechanics 100 dollars an hour. I won't go somewhere where I feel cheated. Almost 800 dollars for a rebuilt part plus battery....I was robbed. They lost a customer of 9+ years. read more

I recently had a tune-up and brakes done here. The front desk person was nice and I believe that the charge was fair and the work fine. What I took issue with was I asked for a diagnosis of some rumbling that I heard. I was told that the issue was that all 4 of the engine mounts needed to be replaced. The estimate to do so, was at least $900. Here's the issue with that... I took the car to another shop and not only did they inform me that only 2 needed to be replaced, it only has 3 mounts. Now, I understand that some engines have 4, but given then fact that my car has 3, shouldn't the estimate have been tailored enough to reflect that? (Especially since I paid a fee for the diagnosis!) Needless to say, trust in a mechanic is key and I just don't feel comfortable given my experience. read more

If I could give a lower Rating I would. I took my 2014 Ford Fusion to Chris and his mechanics to have my water pump replaced and was told it would be ready the following day. The following day I was told it was still not ready. After pushing the subject a little further I was told while they were putting the timing belt on, it was performed incorrectly and ruined my engine. They replaced the engine, but somehow ruined that engine also. What happened with that engine depends on who you ask. Finally another engine went into my Fusion. This one ran, but would almost kill every time I came to a stop sign. After months of not having the car, the problem had never been fixed. I even spent my own money at another mechanic only to be told it had to have been something Garner Auto Specialists had done incorrectly. I Use to Uber and LYFT on the side to make extra money and it was a significant amount. I was not able to do so, due to the condition of my car. My car was repossessed due to the hardship caused by Garner Auto Specialists. They would do NOTHING to help me out. I am now getting my Fusion back and was told by Chris that it was not welcome back, as they had spent too much money on it. Still not running correctly, so I guess the old adage, you break it you buy it, or at least fix it doesn't apply to Garner Auto Specialists. Avoid this place at ALL costs. They have NEVER helped any vehicle taken there by me. I am in the process of filing a complaint with the BBB.
