If I could I would give zero stars. Napa PD had our vehicle towed here after a bad accident. We called the day after the accident to get my husband's work stuff out of the car. The manager told us to come down and someone would let us in. Once we got there the gentleman told us he would let us in for $100. I told him no one told us there was a fee and we didn't have cash. So he said he'd do it for $20. I told him we didn't have any cash. He was extremely rude and went inside amd shut the door. I tried to call the manager and the gentleman came back outside and did call him. The manager then told us it was $150 to get in but he'd waiver it. We got a lien notice that they where going to sell our car. My husband was hit by three cars so we had to wait for the police report. I called the tow yard to find out if our car was still there. The man told us it wasn't. The insurance had settled it. I told him the police report just came back. Where was my car? He then hung up on me. I had to call Napa PD to get ahold of them to see where my car was. I also called AAA and filed a report because AAA is contracted with them. This is the worst service I've ever experienced. Not only is our car totalled and we have to deal with car insurance but these people at Napa Valley Tow dont make the experience easier. read more

The rudest man I've ever met! We were told it would be an hour so we got there half an hour early and I guess he had already been there for 20 minutes even though it was super early from what we were told. He was extremely rude and didn't even check our ID that it was our car and unlocked it without ever speaking to us then left the door open and without saying a word or telling us he was done he just left! On our way back from our redwood forest road-trip our lug nuts studs broke off on our Jeep Wrangler and one lug nut was stripped and we were unable to remove it. Waited over 2 hours. Told Dan, the manager, that my truck was lifted over the phone prior to the tow truck arriving. They have towed my truck before. Dan said the lift was ok. Once the driver showed up he made-up all different excuses why he couldn't tow it. Ultimately they claimed it was an AAA policy. AAA said it is at the vendors discretion whether or not it is safe to tow, but it isn't an AAA policy not to tow lifted trucks. Dan didn't apologize, he made up several contradicting excuses. He blamed me for not being more specific about how tall my lift is. FYI it is only a 2" - 2.5" lift, nothing crazy. Unfortunately they have an AAA contract. You can file a complaint with AAA and I will be doing that. read more

Sal did a great job with navigating the flatbed tow truck into a tight driveway then guiding the car out of a narrow set of doors. I am so pleased with my experience with our driver, Frank. He went above and beyond to take care of my car and make sure he left it in a safe location at the mechanic shop (where the parking lot was full). I was so worried about not being at the location he dropped it off at but he sent me pictures and assured me he checked to make sure it would be okay overnight. If you have a truck, these guys will refuse to help you. I'm currently broken down on the side of the road for the 2nd time in the last couple of years with two different trucks. AAA tried dispatching these guys both times and they refused to tow either of our trucks because they were/are "too heavy." (Standard, unmodified Ford F350) Last time, I ended up calling my diesel mechanic directly and he had a standard tow truck come out within 20 minutes to tow it without issue. The mechanic also mentioned and was aware of how terrible and unreliable Napa Towing is... These guys are lazy and incompetent. If you are unlucky enough to have your truck break down in Napa, I wish you the best of luck. I surely hope AAA reconsiders their partnership with this company. read more

Yesterday, my car broke down and I called AAA. After negotiating the phone tree (just keep hitting O to get by it) I was greeted by a very nice agent who gathered all the info and contacted Napa Valley Tow (NVT). NVT then called me and let me know when the driver would be there, about 40 minutes. Sure enough, the driver pulled up in 40 minutes. He was super friendly and had my car hooked up in no time. He had some suggestions on what might be the problem with the car. He towed it to the dealer and all was well. The next day, after the dealer had not been able to duplicate the problem and having run diagnostics on the car. called me to come down. The car was now starting fine and I picked it up. Unfortunately, the car stalled again and I had to call AAA again. This time the driver, Spencer, was there in about 20 minutes. He checked out the car and suggested the starter was failing. He rolled it back and forth enough to move the starter gear and the car started. He went above and beyond, even crawling under the car to get at the starter. He said he would not even call it a tow so AAA wouldn't use up one of my free road service calls. I am very thankful and impressed by NVT's service and friendly (and most helpful) service. As for the problem with the car, well, I have to deal with the dealer on that issue. read more

The first time I attempted to use this company, they showed up after a long wait and the driver said I needed to unload the back of my truck which may have had 200lbs of business equipment. I did that then he insisted I unload my top mount tool boxes, which may have had another 200lbs. The driver refused to take my 3/4 ton truck , as he feared his truck would roll over being to top heavy. I had a 3 piece 75 foot long manufactured home delivered up this same road. I will be writing another review about this company in the very near future about the way they screw you and your insurance when ever possible. But right now I need to take a chill pill and gather my thoughts. PLEASE EVERYONE use some one else. These people are a big rip off. read more

Incident on 10/15/16. I called because my mother's car's tire became wobbly. My mother was in Napa and I was in Vallejo. I didn't know where to call but this towing company since it had the best reviews and I don't know Napa well. I called them and the gentleman on the phone (I forgot his name) was extremely helpful and comforting. He stated they would do their best to let me know if it was something that was quick and fixable then and there by the tow truck driver or if it would be something that I would have to take the car in for repair for, although they couldn't guaranteed anything since they weren't mechanics. Mind you, my mom speaks very little English but the gentleman on the phone told me he could send a Spanish speaker for her... I was honestly not even thinking of asking that, so I was very relieved! I was hoping for a call back when they finish the job but instead, my mom shows up at my house all happy and dandy 30 minutes later! She states Juan, the tow truck driver sent to aid her, was extremely helpful and nice! It turns out the tire/wheel was too tight, causing it to wobble... Needless to say, great customer service, in our experience, and very affordable especially considering how Napa has a greater cost than Vallejo. We are very thankful!!! read more

AAA - Napa Valley Tow responded to my child's vehicle that slid into a ditch. There wasn't any vehicle damage incurred from the collision. Napa Valley tow responded and pulled the vehicle from the culvert. In doing so badly damaged the rear suspension making the vehicle undrivable. Repairs will be over $900.00 to fix. I called and spoke with the manager Dan, who made lots of excuses for why his driver was not accountable and that NVT was not responsible. Their (Dan's) customer service was not very good at all. he politely told me to F off and file a claim with my insurance company. I was told by a highly regarded mechanic / auto professional that the recovery could have been made without damaging the vehicle and the tow truck driver did it the easiest, fastest way. They claim "Damage Free Towing", there are lots of disclaimer's to that statement. I'm out at least 900 and my only recourse will be small claims court. If your not a AAA member call someone with knowledge of vehicle's who will accept responsibility for their employees actions. Dan Thanks for responding to my review. Yes the vehicle was in the ditch, not really twelve feet down but at least that far off the pavement. My daughter was very fortunate. I have had the chance to speak with law enforcement that was present at the time the extraction took place, the CA Tow Truck Association, and two other tow company owner one of them being a AAA represented business. The law enforcement officer told me there was zero traffic that night.. Thus negating one of your original excuses, Roadway was partially blocked, gotta get it out of the ditch as fast as possible because of traffic. The other tow company owners said your guy should have known better than to hook up where he did.. The said he was either inexperienced or lazy. CTTA said your guys don't complete their training course that deal with exactly that sort of situation. Do you require your drivers to complete any formal training? You said your driver assessed the situation and went back to the shop and got a bigger truck. The truth is that he actually hooked up to my daughters car. and tried to extract the vehicle with the flat bed (possibly causing the damage) after he tried and failed is when he got a different truck. You made lots of excuses as to why the damage occurred, you REFUSED to even look at the car. I told you the ONLY damage to the car was from your driver hooking up the wrong way. You still refused to even look at the situation. My daughter is out the repair bill, she's 22 and does not carry full coverage insurance. She works her tail off at two jobs and you essentially took a couple weeks pay from her. So you made lots of excuses, and refused to even look at the car. I have the damaged parts and you are welcome to see the car and the parts. You have my telephone number and are welcome to call me if you are willing to look at the car and or the damage. read more

In the past with other companies, every time I have needed roadside assistance it takes hours and then the person who shows up is grumpy. I was pleasantly surprised this morning when I had a flat tire on my way to work in Napa. (I travel all over for work and live in Manteca so I was a couple hours from home) Dano was the name of the gentleman who showed up to help. He was there within 20 minutes of me calling the warranty company for my tires and he was extremely nice! He was clean cut, pleasant, and had a smile straight from getting out of the truck. My husband was in an accident and his bike was towed here. On the good side, they were nice enough to open the gate for us on a Saturday so we could get some stuff from his bike, and waived the gate fee. But there's so much more to the story than that, and that's what causes the low rating. On the bad side, we had a number of discussions with them about getting the bike towed to our house, and they kept telling us we should let insurance handle it. They were like a wall about this, would not agree to tow the bike to us -- they just kept repeating "let insurance handle it". So finally - because my husband had mixed feelings about fixing it himself or having a shop do it -- we agreed to let insurance handle it, and just asked to come up and get some stuff out of it. On the FAR worse side, less than a week after the accident, we get a notice from them stating they were going to sell the bike in one month for non-payment of our bill. WE HAD NEVER EVEN GOTTEN A BILL FROM THEM, had requested that the bike be towed to us (which, remember, they had kept declining to do), and had involved insurance already - so they knew we were insured and they would get paid -- and they threatened us with this notice. We don't believe it was a true filing with the DMV, because if it was it was not properly handled (for example, not being sent certified mail) but the very fact that they would resort to scare tactics -- when we'd been in contact with them about the bike and they knew insurance was involved -- speaks to a way of doing business that is rather low. My husband dearly loves his bike, he's already injured, hurting and sad because of what happened, and they further add to his stress level by threatening the safety of his bike. That was just wrong. So honestly, I could've -- and perhaps should've -- rated them lower, but the fact that they waived their gate charge is the only thing that kept them from a 1. You know, no one wants to call a tow truck. Let's be honest. Like police officers, nurses, doctors, tow truck operators also don't show up when we are at our best, happiest moments. My car broke down this past weekend and Jeff showed up within 20 minutes to check out what the problem was. Turns out is was the alternator and I needed to be towed to a repair shop. I was in Napa for the day, but live in San Mateo, so I requested to be towed back to San Mateo (61 miles, and 2 hours). I was told it'd be 2 hours until someone could take me that distance, so we took an Uber into downtown Napa and had dinner, came back and Peter was waiting for us, a bit earlier than expected. He was super-awesome with my car (it's a red Volvo hard top convertible that I'm rather fond of), drove us the 62 miles to San Mateo, and was really polite and interesting to talk to. Like I said, no one actually *wants* to call a tow truck, but Napa Valley Towing, Jeff, and Peter, all made this awful experience better. read more
