AAA roadside service sucks. A baboon's ass is too good for them to kiss. That's how bad they are. 10 thousand zero stars to the negative power man! here it goes. Not renewing with them. I have already spread the word to my family, coworkers, my parent company, our youth sports board of directors (affiliated with the SF Giants/Golden State Warriors) and 462 friends to do the same if they have AAA.
Here it goes. I was heading to the Warriors game on Monday 11/2. They sponsor my son's Christian basketball league, so the kids get to high 5 them coming out the tunnel before the game, participate in the national anthem, and high 5 them again at the half. This is a big deal for my son each year, 6 home games a year. We were driving on 680, just past the Gregory lane exit then BAM! Felt like we hit railroad tracks or a curb going 70 MPH. My steering wheel didn't shake so I thought we were fine. That is, until I began counting cars pulled off on the shoulder. 17 in all. I pulled off myself, and low and behold, 2 tires blown. right front, and right rear. Whatever we ran over hit my front wheel with so much force that it cracked the chrome rim causing the chrome air valve to shoot off like a bullet. (See pictures). That was at 602 PM. We needed a tow. There were a total of 27 cars that were disabled.
Called AAA. The dispatcher told me I've exhausted the number of services I could use per year in the club. Said I had been towed 3 times, and locked out once. told her I had the Audi towed twice, with one lock out. She said there was a tow on 4/20 (first thought is she must have been high that day). I told her that I hadn't. that I called for a my spare to be out on my Escalade, and the guy didn't have the correct tools to take off the tire. His excuse, they don't service custom wheels. So an engineer from my job and I put the spare on. I told her I have video evidence as well. She would not budge when I told her I had not received a tow on 4/20, and planned on disputing that first thing the following day given she made me aware of it being entered as a tow. She insisted that I had exhausted my services, even though I told her I could provide video footage.
She said to "call Concord Tow, and they will help you or call 911". Thus leaving me stranded on the side of the highway 680 with a scared 9 year old, two blown out tires, and no cash on hand for Concord Tow. I called Concord Tow. told their dispatcher what I'm telling you all. She called AAA to verify, and they gave her the same BS. She said something didn't add up. Saying the tech who could not help me, probably entered that I was towed to get paid, even though I didn't sign anything. Because of this hardship, she towed me for free. Thank God for Concord Tow. I didn't get off the road until 1030PM.
Come to find out from AAA claims, the AAA dispatcher was supposed to provide a courtesy tow to get us out of harm's way. I told them she should be fired with the guy (a sub-contractor) who committed fraud. The CHP officer said that he has serious issues with AAA. Large companies tend to be about profit and totally forget that it is the customer who brings in the profit. What the hell good is EMERGENCY ROADSIDE SERVICE, if you can't use it in an emergency? We were in a dangerous situation, and AAA failed us. I can only imagine the headache if I had them for auto insurance. Fortunately for me, CHP gave me a report, and my good friends are attorneys. AAA stinks, if you read this as an AAA employee, take pride in your company, this you should break your friggin heart. Shit like this is why crazy people do stupid shit out of anger. Concord Tow! You guys and that dispatch gal is awesome. Wish I could give her a big hug, and flowers. read more
