I had to call Hero Towing twice in a few days. Both times they showed up as promised and provided great service with a smile. My car battery needed to be replaced. He agreed to stop at an auto parts store to pick up a new battery, come to me and replace my dead battery for the same price as coming out to do a jump start. DO NOT USE (ESPECIALLY IF YOU'RE A WOMAN BY YOURSELF) I'd never use Hero Towing, but when my wife's car blew a tire out on 680 North, her car company sub-contracted with Hero and a nightmare situation ensued. 1) She called roadside assistance near Walnut Creek to tow her to the dealership in Pleasanton. 2) After waiting nearly two hours (not Hero Towing's fault), her car was put on the car and the driver said that he was supposed to take her to the dealer in Walnut Creek. At this time, they started driving on 680 South. 3) My wife asked him to take her to the Pleasanton dealership and called roadside assistance number to clarify and "approve" this with him. At this time, my wife was visibly frustrated and upset. 4) The tow truck driver abruptly exited 680 South and pulled into a parking lot. He was NOT talking or communicating with my wife as to why he pulled over. 5) My wife was confused as roadside assistance said that all he needed to do was to refresh his system to see the new approval. 6) After pulling over into the random parking lot, he would even acknowledge my wife about the new approval to take her to Pleasanton other than saying that "Mercedes roadside doesn't pay." 7) After sitting in the tow truck, in a random parking lot off of 680 for 15 minutes where the driver wouldn't acknowledge my wife's questions, he left the vehicle and walked more than 20 yards away. He refused to get on the phone with roadside assistance to acknowledge the approved trip. 8) After 30 minutes of calling roadside assistance and trying to have the driver simply talk to them, my wife is in tears. Frustrated and scared as she was all alone. 9) I then called both my Mercedes dealership in Pleasanton, who went above and beyond to help get this resolved w/ roadside assistance and I called Hero Towing directly. 10) I happened to get through to the driver himself, who's the owner of Hero Towing. I asked him what the issue was and why he was being such a jerk to my wife..here's what he told me: - Mercedes roadside assistance doesn't pay - He wanted a credit card (and not the just approval from Mercedes because according to him, "they don't pay" and we should use Geico roadside assistance instead...what?) 11) Since he wanted a credit card, I asked how much more to tow to Pleasanton and he said $220...wow - if he just would've said it and not been so disrespectful and rude to my wife, I would've just paid it. 12) After an hour of waiting in the parking lot with him, he finally got the credit card he wanted from roadside assistance and proceeded to take my wife's car to the dealership in Pleasanton. To top it off, after he dropped off the car at the dealer, he didn't say a word to the service advisor at the dealer and just dropped the keys out of the window. This ordeal ruined my wife's day and weekend as she was scared and treated so poorly by the owner of Hero who wouldn't even communicate why he drove her to a random parking lot off the freeway to make a point that according to him 1) MB roadside assistance doesn't pay and 2) he would only leave once he got a credit card. Why take out his grievances out on my wife who as nothing to do with this? DO NOT USE *HERO TOWING* AND BEWARE IF YOU'RE A WOMAN WHO'S ALONE. read more

Angel is awesome! I have a tow service with my insurance, and I was on the phone for 1 hour waiting just to see if I could get a tow truck to come out. As I was waiting for a call back from a tow company, I called Hero towing. He said they would be here in 35 minutes. And he was there in 35 minutes. He hooked up the truck, and then my insurance company called with a tow truck they could be there in two hours. I own a lowered Mercedes-Benz and when I got a flat tire at 2000 miles, which put my front spoiler very close to the ground, I called Mercedes' Roadside Assistance. The next 27 hours were very difficult because 9 tow truck companies that were assigned to help never showed up. In addition, each company said they didn't show up because "I canceled". The 10th company was Hero towing, and the driver Angel was amazing!!! He was patient, creative and figured out a way to get my car on his truck without causing any damage.
