My insurance company handled the finding and scheduling the towing of my car, I called on a Sunday and requested a tow for Monday morning to my mechanic when they opened. My insurance called me back and told me it was scheduled from 9 am - 11am on Monday morning. To my pleasant surprise I got a call at 9:03 from Able Towing saying that the tow driver was on its way from the next town over. The driver had my car on his truck by 9:35 (He was a younger guy and was professional. He offered me a ride to my mechanic or to take my key, I asked him to just take my key). My insurance company texted me at 9:50 that the service was complete and the driver had dropped my car off at my requested location. With all that said, I'm very thankful to Able Towing that this went so smoothly. No one wants to get their car towed, but they took some stress off of me and made it quick and painless. read more

I worked for Able Towing under "training" for 3 weeks. Whereby I was held accountable for all "training damages" committed and reprimanded with "phantom write-ups" courtesy of Manager/Owner of Able. This company denied me the money they say in their handbook (see photos above) and when questioned on it the Owner exclaimed with ANGER that it was a mistake that the handbook was given to me. His wife claims it is the only handbook available. Able Towing likes to lie, cheat and steal from their employees, I personally wonder what they do to their customers. After confronting Able Towing on their pay policies I was put down, criticized, slammed and threatened to be sued by the Owner should I contest anything that happened. This is a perfect example of how a "Fly-By-Night" operation will cheat you out of what is yours. Able Towing and all who work there are not to be trusted. While working there I learned that they lie to customers, employees and INSURANCE companies so that they come out on top. They definitely were there when my car got towed. It was no problem even though it wasn't a open business day. I got my car impounded by the CHP on a Saturday and the officer had let me know it should be no more than $400 to retrieve my car because they can't charge me for having it stored on Sunday since it's not an open business day. Unfortunately when I arrived the man said I could not drive my car out unless I paid $510 trying to charge me for four days(including Sunday) even though it had only been there for Saturday and Monday morning. Regardless of me letting him know he isn't charging me right he didn't care. Even when my s/o approached the situation he still refused to charge us the correct price until I brought a dmv state worker I knew over and tried to apologize saying "he didn't see" it was only for two days when it clearly states it on my discharge papers from the CHP. If I could give no stars, this place would get it. I was rear ended on the hwy last week and it left my car not drivable. CHP called for a tow (not AAA) and Able towing showed up. My boyfriend called our insurance company who requested our car be towed to the shop where it would be repaired. The driver said he wouldn't take it there unless I paid him $200, but he'd take it to his tow yard (which was at least 10 miles further) and I wouldn't have to pay him. Get my insurance co on the phone and they confirmed the auto shop would pay him when he arrived. We went round and round, with the tow driver being more concerned with making money than treating the customer right. Finally (after at least 30 min of going back & forth with him, my insurance co, and the body shop) he agreed to take it to the body shop. Fifteen minutes after he leaves with my car, the body shop calls and says the tow driver wouldn't leave the car with them and took it to his yard anyways. He threw a tantrum because even though this very reputable body shop had the company credit card #, the physical card wasn't there. (It was with the manager, who authorized the payment in the first place). So basically the tow driver stole my car from where he was authorized to take it. Con artist... Beware of these guys. They are only out to make more money off you by charging you storage fees when it's unnecessary. DON'T USE!!!!! read more

Terrible. They always have an excuse. My new Kia vehicle came with roadside and they called this company. That call was made 3 hours ago and we were given a 60 minute eta. We've called three times now and have been given the following excuses in no particular order: one of our trucks broke down, we have a new driver who won't know how to tow your vehicle, and all of our drivers are out of the area. Here's the thing...my car has a dead battery and won't take a jump. Towing it isn't rocket science. If you have no available truck or drivers, why accept the service call if you can't fulfill it? My son was taken advantage of by this company. His car needed to be towed to a body shop over the weekend. The tow truck guy said he would tow his car to the tow yard and drop it off at the body shop when they were open on Monday. My son paid to have it towed. At 4pm on Monday my son gets a call to say he has to pay an additional $150 to release his car from the yard. Tow truck driver never said a word about him having to pay an additional fee. If that was the case, he would have had it towed to his house. You should be ashamed of yourself taking advantage of a young man. read more

Guy who showed up was in a good mood. I had a bit of an odd situation today with my key fob breaking, no spare, and no one being able to fix it until after the 4th of July, so I had to get my car towed home. DO NOT USE this tow company.... You have been forewarned. My sister had to have her Dodge Ram Truck towed to dealership for repairs. The insurance company called this tow. When the guy arrived to her home he put her truck on the flatbed facing backwards. He told her he shouldn't travel with it in the position so she told him to turn it around facing the correct way. He told he didn't have to long of a drive and left with the truck in his possession. She received a call from the driver stating there was a problem. The driver asked her to call his boss and not to call her insurance. Of course she called her insurance first then the tow driver boss second. Basically, while the truck was being towed on freeway the wind caught the Tonneau Cover on the truck bed and ripped it off causing major damage to the truck. The cover landed on the freeway and thankfully did not cause an accident or injury to others. When the truck was delivered to the dealership, the truck was now facing forward with the cover stuck in the truck bed. The driver not saying a word. When my sister called the tow truck driver's boss, he told her they were NOT responsible for the damage done on her truck and refused to give her their insurance information. Now, she has to go through her insurance paying a $500 deductible and her insurance will go after the tow company. This tow company is unsafe, unreliable, liars, dishonest and any other negative description. They do not deserve a half a star .... Summary- Don't use this company! They are unprofessional, untimely and have questionable business practices (please see below for details). After my Toyota Prius broke down on the highway (very scary and devastating), my insurance company called Able Towing to transport my car. I was texted that the eta would be 45 minutes. Unfortunately, the driver showed up about two hours later. My car was initially towed to a Toyota in Fairfield on a Wednesday evening. After Toyota quoted me an absurd repair price, I decided to have my car towed into a repair shop in San Francisco the following day (Luscious Garage- their awesome! see my and others review). When the driver contacted me I informed him that I was at work and asked if they can accept payment over the phone. He said yes. Once again, it took the driver over two hours to get to the repair shop. When he arrived, I gave him my credit card information as discussed. My bank blocked the transaction because it had been swiped multiple times for the same amount. I called my bank and informed them that this was a legitimate expense and to authorize payment and they did so Once again, it was ran two times and went through both times (I had kept my credit card agency on the line to confirm this). I contacted the tow driver to see if everything was ok and was directed to call the company office. The woman who answered the line said they couldn't accept payment if the person was not in-person. Since when?! You already swiped my card four times. Furthermore, please keep in mind that I had confirmed this with this with the driver. When I stated that the driver had said the opposite, she raised her voice toward me and stated "who gives their information over the phone? We don't do that!". You don't do that? Well, welcome to the twenty first century because companies have been doing this for a very long time. Moreover, why did your driver inform me that you did? She threatened to have my car towed back to F airfield. I insisted that she don't do that. At this point she offered to fax me an authorization form (well, shucks why didn't you offer this from the very beginning instead of berating me). She sent the form, I filled it out, made a copy of my ID (which was all of a sudden requested) and sent it to their office. Of course, I informed my insurance company of the incident. They informed me that they will look into this. No one deserves to be disrespected, especially while dealing with a frustrating situation such as a car break down. read more
