    Variety of fresh croissants!
    Paige M.

Took my friend from out of town here this weekend and it did not disappoint. We were greeted by friendly workers, and there was a line out the door for these delicious pastries, and breads! We tried to fresh croissants, an almond and a baklava. The baklava was such a fun, unique option. They also have several day old options for a discounted price.

Super cute local bakery! I was on a walk in the neighborhood and stumbled across this place. The staff were super friendly and offered great suggestions on what to get. I ended up just getting a butter croissant. I wanted the croissant warmed up and was disappointed when they stated they couldn't do it. Other than that my experience was great and I hope to stumble across this place again soon!

Solid 5 stars! Croissants, quiche, and donuts were yummy. We had the almond, peach and Nutella croissants. Flaky crust, soft inside, and generously stuffed fillings. Staff were super friendly, patient and helpful. Maya and Marco helped us. Excellent service. Outside patio is cute with limited sitting. You can bring your pastry to the next door coffee shop. Street parking. Place can be busy. I highly recommend this place.

My daughter devoured the cookie butter cronut! We love the granola bars and get them nearly every week. The "day old" racks are great to pick up discounted items and they always have bread samples at this location! Love their polish rye and brioche. Ordered a custom cake - cookie butter - and it was delicious! Well staffed and friendly service. There is no seating inside but there are a few patio tables outside along the sidewalk out front. Next to Lyon Street Cafe, Martha's Vineyard and E.A. Brady's butcher shop. One way street parking is usually available and there is a small parking lot between Nantucket Baking and Martha's Vineyard.

Every time I stop in I always end up buying something new and love it! All their food is amazing and you can do no wrong in what you pick out. Service is always so good and fast, they are so sweet when they help you pick out what you need and answer any question you have. The shop is small but perfect to get in and pick out what you want!

I went to Nantucket the other day after seeing everyone I know rave about them! The bakery is right in a cute little neighborhood, allowing for easy parking all around. I'm always grateful to places that open before 8am for those who start work at 8 like myself. The bakery isn't very large and I don't think there were any indoor seating spots but it was FILLED with the most lovely breads, pastries, and more. When I entered, the staff was greeting some regulars and the atmosphere was just so uplifting and communal. I spoke with Marco who was so kind and personable and asked me about myself while I was indecisive about the bakes. I learned that Marco is actually a local artist that you may have seen around town under the name Gumball Monsters. Both Marco and another worker helped to guide me toward the banana toffee muffin and the Dubai chocolate croissant. Both were absolutely incredible. I'm not a fan of banana normally, but the muffin really worked to convert me over. The Dubai chocolate croissant was still very flaky and the pistachio creme had a great consistency and flavor. Neither dessert felt too sweet and both were well balanced and worth the price. I am excited to go back and try the breads and other baked goods!

When I lived in Grand Rapids, I probably visited this bakery at least once a week. It's phenomenal, and it's a shame there's only two locations, both in Grand Rapids. On my most recent visit, I stopped by to pick up a couple of my favorite pastries: Almond Croissant ($4.25) - The Almond Croissant from Natucket is what made me fall in love with this type of croissant. It's exceptionally buttery, fantastically flaky, filled with frangipane baked inside that isn't too sweet and has fantastic almond flavor, and then topped with additional baked frangipane and slivered almonds. The consistency and location of the filling is carefully placed so that it doesn't impact the proofing of the croissant dough too much - A lot of other bakeries, especially in the Midwest, slice a plain butter croissant in half, fill it, and then bake it in half. This croissant is artistry and is exceptionally delicious. (5/5) Strawberry Croissant ($6) - This was the pastry of the month, stuffed with strawberry jam and strawberry cream. It's exceptionally rich, with the taste of butter. It's quite flaky with great lamination. The squiggle of piped white icing on top is very sweet and the croissant is additionally topped with freeze dried strawberry and gold flakes. The interior filling has two parts - a strawberry jam and then a red cream mixed with cooked strawberries. Neither are as sweet compared to the top icing. The pastry layers hold up well to the fillings, and doesn't get softened or waterlogged which is a miracle given the diaphanous layers. The entire croissant is filled by the way of several holes on the bottom and is very filling and heavy. (4.5/5) Both the pastries and bread Nantucket bakes are excellent. I've never been disappointed in anything they make here. Some of my other favorites include: the chocolate chip scones, the bear claws, the kouign amann. I never fail to visit when I'm in Grand Rapids. Heck, I make the 2.5 hour drive to Nantucket once or twice a year specifically to pick up pastries here. It's that good and it's far better than any artisan bakery I've found in Metro Detroit. Some tips: Go early if you want the best selection. They start running out of some items in the early afternoon. The main bakery on Fuller typically is less crowded and has pastries until later in the day. It's more industrial and less homey and comforting vs. this location. If you're not that picky with the selection, go towards the end of the day, like in the 30 minutes before closing. They start bagging up the pastries and will offer their last items 2 for 1, or even 3 for 1. Everything they have left over when they close gets placed in the crates near the front of the store and get sold as "day old" the next day. My absolute favorite thing to get day old are the chocolate chip scones. I honestly can't tell the difference between fresh ones and day olds.

Another win for Nantucket Baking. We ordered another cake, carrot cake this time! It totally blew me away. The icing was so good. The cake was moist and full of carrots. Also tried another loaf of sourdough! It was fresh and so tasty. Also, their cookies are huge and soooo good! I love putting my orders in online and just picking it up. Both times, it has been ready on time and fresh. I can't wait to order a new cake for my birthday, in a few months

    Freshly baked goods

This place is absolutely fantastic. Truly an amazing experience. Staff is sooo friendly and welcoming. The whole place smells of freshly and carefully baked bread. Probably the best bakery I have ever been to. The price was insanely reasonable for what I got. Absolutely amazing, if I could rate it higher than five stars I would. Absolutely fantastic.

The building was incredibly crowded and incredibly loud parking was pretty limited except for the parking lot across the street in order to actually sit comfortably or do anything here you would have to bring headphones that have noise canceling Even after a big family left it was still incredibly loud and pretty cramped. The frosting immediately fell off the cupcake as soon as I walked out the door I thought that maybe I tilted it but it looks like it just ran down the side when I went to take a sip of my frappuccino I noticed that there was no white chocolate taste whatsoever and the three shots of espresso covered up any flavor possible All in all I don't know that I'd go back here again it was pretty affordable and if you want to bang for your buck it would be okay. If you need somewhere to study or to work that's quiet and peaceful and you don't want a lot of distractions this wouldn't be the place for you.

Honestly, I am not a huge sandwich person, but if I heard a sandwich shop is good, I'll try it. The sandwich was cut in half and had their Michigan Turkey, bacon, avocado, and other veggies that you can read in their menu. The turkey was really delicious - like, really, REALLY delicious. It was so flavorful and soft. And the veggies like avocado, tomatoes, and lettuce tasted so fresh. I got it with sourdough bread, which was really good. It was a bit tough to put the whole sandwich in your mouth because of the crusty crusts (lol), so I just resorted to eating it with a fork and a knife (very proper). The food came out rather quickly, and the service was very sweet, friendly and down to earth. Ambience was great! Casual and friendly. There is street parking - usually, it's not too difficult to find parking around this area. But maybe I just get lucky, I don't know. If it's a good day, you can walk around and enjoy the scene with the river and park!
