Numerous large…read moreand well positioned TV's, a large bar with ample seating and high ceilings, a side room with pool tables, a kitchen with a fryer and grill and a meu which appears suitable for a Sport's Bar. The outdoor batting cages are an added draw making it seemingly a family-friendly environment. We have been to Home Plate around 8 times in the past 1.5 years. So, by no means am I basing my opinion on a single visit. The food is basic bar food with nothing special about it. I can do better at home. Our last time eating there, my family had hamburgers. They were extremely messy and fair at best. The service has never been "fast" noreven attentive. With wages being fairly high in AZ, service will often suffer due to understaffing. My wife and I went to Home Plate last night to watch some preseason football. It appeared that a couple new bartenders were in training. A red-headed woman who appeared to be the trainer was incredibly rude to the trainees who approached her for some direction. A) Terrible condescending way to train B) Never put an employee down and definitely don't berate them in front of customers. I was surprised that the bartender in training didn't walk out. Later in the evening something transpired in the side room which was handled by this same worker yelling from the bar to the people in that room using expletives. Where is the Customer Service? Where is basic decency and tact? After last night, my wife and I were in agreement that we deserve a more professional sport's bar experience. At a minimum, I shouldn't have to bear witness to public shaming of a new employee. On a side note: I did find it uncomfortable that a large centrally located TV was always tuned to Newsmax regardless of it being a Sport's Bar. MAGA recruitment tool or perhaps conversion therapy for Trump Derangement Syndrome?

We got there and there were no low top tables available inside (needed a high chair), so we had to sit outside. It was completely empty outside. The hostess led us to a table and chairs that were soaked by the misters. She acted like it was fine. There was only one other low top outside. We went to it and there were tons of red ants crawling all around the ground and up the table and chair legs. Also a bunch of leaves and debris. The whole time going from table 1 to table 2, then noticing and commenting on the ants, the hostess was right there. No apology or attempt to clean anything up. Just standing there awkwardly, watching us take in the disappointment. It was clear the outside was not cleaned or even looked at in quite some time, and that would not change, so we left. We went to Lil Abners instead. As soon as we got there, we realized our terrible experience at Growlers was a blessing in disguise. The drink deals are better and cheaper at Lil Abners anyway. Plus, despite a staff of mostly high school and college age kids, they actually do a good job of making sure you have a good experience. And of course, the food is a million times better. So long Growlers. We won't be back.

We were recently there on a Saturday and the special is $5 house shots. We tried the green tea and the white tea. Both were delicious and huge! Definitely more than a shot. Service is bar/walk up order only, which is totally fine, but makes it less memorable. Overall we are glad to have Casa Marana nearby. We will definitely be back again and again.

The window that overlooks their gorgeous desert landscape! They served so much food and everything was delicious! Service was great and the servers were very accommodating. I would definitely go back for another afternoon event! My only suggestion is for them to have the two time slots more apart from each other. Towards the end, we felt a little rushed (we had 11am seating and the next one was at 1pm) and I could tell they wanted everyone gone and set up for the next seating, which is understandable but I saw another table with a bigger group and they seemed they still wanted to enjoy their champagne (which was an add-on option) .

Everyone behind the bar is really knowledgeable and there are always fun events happening every week. Their beers are all brewed in the traditional styles. You'll find a great Pilsner, German-inspired brews like Berliner Weisses, a Scotch Ale and various styles of IPAs, among many others. This place is no frills. They won't make a blueberry pie beer or put fried chicken or other weird stuff in what they brew. You're going to find something here you like if you're a beer drinker and even their lightest beers have a ton more flavor than any macrobrew you see in commercials. The owners are really nice, cool people and they run a family business in every sense of the term. Todd, the one who ad the idea to open this place, is also the head brewer and you can tell how passionate he is about what he does. This brewery was a labor of love and it shows.

The bartender was Johnny and he was a friendly guy. I also had one of their soft pretzels. There's a few signs about "no politics or religion", but in the 30 minutes we were there I overheard discussions as to everyone's political beliefs. No one was cranky or anything, which is good. Johnny told us about upcoming events. Pleasant overall; we paid cash to avoid the surcharge.
