Beautiful property, good wines, but very odd that their tasting room was so bland--in a completely windowless room that felt like a big storage shed. The entire time, you wish you were outside because the juxtaposition is so intense. I guess for members, they get a better wine room with views, but still, throw the non-members a bone. read more

Looking for a local winery to visit, we came across Old Pueblo Cellars. We didn't know what to expect but thoroughly excited. Upon our arrival, there were only a handful of cars present... But then again it makes since when it's 110 degrees outside and going wine tasting. After taking a brief tour of the property, we went inside and were greet by the nicest and most compassionate woman you could ever meet... Next to my wife of course. She was friendly, gave us the history of the winery and shared with us what brought her to work at Old Pueblo. We were there a little over an hour sharing stories; how we met our partners, what's fascinating about wines and what makes Old Pueblo unique. The wines were delicious; 100% organic and prepared in a way where you enjoy every sit and get every bit of the flavor as intended. This is definitely saved on our list of wineries outside of California that we will be going back to. Just got to plan the next road trip. read more

What a pleasant surprise to find this vineyard right here in town! They were having a vendor event in the room they are renovating to have more events. The staff serving the wine at the event was very nice and made great recommendations. The tasting room is what you want a wine tasting room to look like. It has a good sized bar and a lovely sitting area. There is outside seating and a swing on the deck. I'll for sure go back for a tasting. read more

We visited this tasting room yesterday and enjoyed a flight of delicious white and red wines. Natalie, who was very friendly, managed the tastings and described each of their wines. We wound up buying a couple bottles that we liked from the tasting, which also made our tastings free. The grounds surrounding the tasting room are very scenic and peaceful. We sat outside in the shade enjoying a glass of wine next to the vineyard and saguaros. This place will be on our list every time we visit Tucson. read more

This is a hidden gem! The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming and you feel like you've left Tucson. Aleesia is so friendly and knowledgeable and a gracious host. This is a great place to unwind and catch up with friends or family. Their wine slushies are yummy but come with a whopping $16 price tag. We came here on our Anniversary for a wine tasting and had a lovely experience. Our server was fun and energetic, excited to share history of the business and tasting notes for the wines. We did one of each flight ($18 and $25 respectively) and didn't taste a wine we didn't like. Some were more standout than others (the Montepulciano was a fav for its smooth and vibrant taste) but all seemed well made and interesting. We were able to visit during a friends birthday and it was a fun time! We did a tasting and charcuterie board; and the quality of most everything we tried was pretty good. The attendant was knowledgeable and answered all of our questions and there were a lot of spaces outside to walk around, too. Wine was great. We would have purchased more bottles to take home however the attendant was not friendly and seemed more concerned about losing her job than providing service. Tasting are on a schedule. We came looking to sample as few selections prior to purchasing multiple bottles. Since we did not have a reservation, that was not allowed. This is a fun stop in an unexpected setting. There's a lovely tasting room surrounded by manicured cactus gardens in a stark but beautiful desertscape, with a small vineyard adjoining. The tasting is five wines and comes with an education about their process for a knowledgeable, very social presenter. You can also just stop in for a glass without having a tasting reservation. The wines are pretty good, though the sauvignon blanc was quite different from any of that varietal I've had before. There's plenty of parking at the entrance, and the prices are quite reasonable. Definitely worth your time if you're in the area or like to visit unusual tasting rooms. It's not far at all from the Ritz Carlton, so it would make a nice afternoon outing if you're staying at the resort. read more

If you're looking for a place to enjoy and taste some AZ wines in a quiet and off the beaten path, this is your spot! Friends brought us here and I was amazed I had never heard of it! You definitely want to call and make reservations. I called and was able to get same-day reservations in an hour! The day we visited was on a Saturday and they had a few vendors there, which was nice. When our tasting reservation began, we opted to sit outside underneath the beautiful desert trees. It was a warm day, but not hot! They also have indoor seating and tasting, but it's pretty limited, so again, make a reservation. We had a gentleman pouring for us and he was super friendly. While I didn't taste anything I liked enough to buy, I will return and taste others, as this was a very nice and relaxing experience. There are chairs situated throughout. I didn't know that organic, sulfite free, vegan wines existed, much less tasted as good as these wines. Alessia was awesome at explaining the different wines, winemaking process, and the uniqueness of preservative free wines. I've been to dozens of wineries and wine tastings in many different states, yet I still learned new things from Alessia. She was an absolute joy. The wine club membership is a great value with 12 bottles of wine a year and complimentary tastings every visit for the member and one guest. The tasting room is cozy, but tastefully decorated and the outside seating area is relaxing and well landscaped. I would highly recommend this winery and the wine tasting room. read more

A special Labor Day tasting turned into a great time! The 2 of us were set up in some comfy chairs, it was very VIP. We were a bit early (better than being late!) and checked out the surrounding area before the noon tasting. Don't miss the grapevines! And horses. It's a short walk from the parking to the tasting room. For the tasting, which is $12, there was a party of 4 at the bar, and the 2 of us in the "VIP" seats (comfy chairs). Our tasting hostess was knowledgeable and interspersed trivia with the wine FAQs. Fun! The tasting pour is generous, and we tasted 6 wines- 4 red, 2 white. All were very good, and no nitrates to boot! Goodbye, wine headaches! Bottles are $28-$38 or so, and I believe they're all organic wines. There is no chardonnay or cabernet, this place is a bit fancy with their Malbec, Viognier and Petite Sirah! There is also a gift area with wine related merch, logo mugs and other items for sale. You can purchase different colored (empty!) wine bottles for $20. The cactus logo on the bottle is very cool. I believe they will be expanding their days of operation and/or hours in the fall/winter. I rang this morning to see if they could squeeze me in to a tasting last minute and they were more than accommodating; so I joined the 12 o'clock tasting and it was INCREDIBLE. Set in the most beautiful surroundings we sat down to enjoy 5 wines - 2 whites and 3 reds for me. What can I say... I'm not usually a fan of American wines but these knocked my socks off. The freshness of both the aromas and the palettes was really surprising given the climate the grapes are grown in; I was expecting earthy or overly sweet but this wine flight was packed with fruity, fresh, spicy, mineral notes that just kept giving one after the other. And the wine slushies... Oh my! delicious, delightfully refreshing; not overly sweet but certainly fruity - and potentially troublesome if consumed without moderation so try to stick to one unless you're not the one at the wheel. I highly recommend a visit and a tasting to anybody on the fence about where to go. You will not regret it! read more

We came here for a tasting Saturday at 4pm. They had 3 different tasting times, 12pm, 2pm and 4pm. I would recommend making an appointment for one of them. We didn't have an appointment and got the last seats available. They do have very comfy couches which could seat a larger group (I think 6 or maybe more). The tasting room is super cute and the grounds are beautiful. You taste 2 whites and I think 5 reds. They grow 25% of their grapes there and purchase the other 75%. They have Italian, French and Spanish wines. Definitely a cute date idea or small group outing. I think I may have overheard them mentioning the house on the grounds is for rent but I could have heard wrong. You can purchase bottles there and if you join their club for free, you get a discount on X amount of bottles (can't remember how many you have to buy). The venue is very unassuming from the main road. In fact, the entrance looks like a residential property because there's a vacation property onsite but don't like this fool you from entering! The grounds are well maintained and appointed which features a natural desert landscape, indoor as well as patio/outdoor seating, and a small water feature. The vineyard was planted in 2013 and produced its first harvest in 2016. Their grapes are not filtered and wines do not contain sulfites. They make their wine the old school way as people did 100 years ago. It's recommended to reserve a time to taste their wines but you might be lucky like me as a walk-in. Their wine tasting menu includes 2 white wines to start which are followed with 4 red wines. Here are my tasting notes: Viognier - peachy taste with an almond finish Malvasia - smells sweet but taste is more acidic like a young wine Sangiovese - similar to a Chianti or Italian table wine; dry with a cherry and tomatoe taste Malbec - fruity and tart, strong blueberry note, reminds me of fruit leather in liquid form Petite Sirah - heavy and bold but not as heavy as a Cabernet; blackberry jam Tempranillo - earthy, smokey but well rounded with notes of blackberry read more

We came here as a group of 10 for a wine tasting over Easter weekend! The grounds are beautiful, there are tables outside and some really nice walking paths. It was cool to see some of the vineyard vines right by the cacti on the property! We got to sit on some comfy couches in the tasting room for our experience. We loved getting to sit in a circle instead of at a big long table so we could see everyone in the group. We got to try 5 different wines and heard about each one individually one at a time. There were 1 white, 1 rose, and 3 reds to taste. The wine tasting used to be $12 according to past reviews, it was $15 for us today which is still a pretty good deal. I think my favorite was the Tempranillo! The wines were ok, but I did not feel inclined to buy a bottle. However, I really enjoyed the atmosphere and being there to do this tasting! I attended a tasting with my mother; I've lived in Oro Valley for 3 years and she moved down 1 year ago. We both enjoy wine and wanted to get to know some local wines and wineries. Alessia is fun and knowledgeable and it was a a great visit. We were the only two tasting at that particular hour, so we were able to ask any and all questions we had and taste at a pace comfortable to us.. Alessia made our visit feel like we'd stopped in to sip wine while visiting a friend (who just happens to know what she's talking about when it comes to wine).
