Good food with an excellent bar selection. They had a lot of obscure whiskey. The food was good, but I found it odd they didn't have a paper lining for their chips. How do they keep the baskets clean? The service was good, seemed like a team effort.

Nana's Kitchen is coming up on 16 years on Tucson's northwest side. My husband and I have been frequenting this establishment since day 1. The atmosphere upon entering feels like home. Matco and Javier, the owners, are on hand to greet you with a smile, hug, and friendly conversation. Nana often comes out of the kitchen to say, "Hello." The service is spot on, and the food is delicious and authentic. We've tried everything on the menu, which is extensive. The bar is well stocked and manned by Marco. From whiskey tasting, award winning margaritas, great food, entertainment to just awesome owners, this small business can't be beat!

This was an awesome place. The staff was welcoming and service was good. The food was delicious. And their spicy salsa delivered flavor and spice.

Really enjoyed having some good food and the atmosphere. Not only do they make good margaritas but they have a good bourbon selection. In addition, they provide great service!

Stopped in here for a late lunch. We were in the mood for tacos and unfortunately this place didn't really hit the spot. I thought the prices were quite high for what you got. I ordered the shrimp tacos and they were just ok and were quite small.

I wish that I could remember the name of the burro that I couldn't pronounce. The beef was unlike anything I'd had before. Very well seasoned, a healthy portion with rice and beans. The salsa was spicy, yet balanced with other flavors that didn't distract from the burro. Hand made tortilla chips and salsa are always a welcome sight at a sit down restaurant. The owner and her son very very kind and it was apparent that they love sharing their delicious food with everyone. I'll definitely be back!

They knocked it out of the park! We ordered the tacos birria style (shredded beef stewed in beer) and the Barbacoa (bbq) taco salad for a late lunch Monday afternoon after running errands. The tacos birria are delicious! The flavor of beer and of the spices used in the beef is amazing! The taco salad - it was the best taco salad I've ever had in my life. The beans, beef, cheese, guacamole, lettuce and tomatoes were mixed and seasoned so well - a super delicious flavor cruise. We're so glad we stopped in at Nanas to have lunch. We will be back soon and often. read more

Did a Yelp while near Marana and up came Nana's. Nice and tidy restaurant with a very friendly and attentive server. Chips and salsa were very fine. My cheese enchildadas with mole sauce were divine. I really enjoyed them. We got the lunch plates which means a better price but servings that were a little smaller than the norm. I see that as a win-win, saving money for all and cutting down on food having to be tossed. Our server told us he hoped we would come back. How often do you hear that? First time here and I loved it. Service was awesome. Got here a few minutes past the 8:00 closing time and was graciously seated and served. The remaining guests all left as if they were long time friends with the staff - as we did after spending an hour here enjoying a wonderful Mexican meal. Food is prepared to order, obviously with fresh ingredients. I highly recommend this local treasure. read more

We are visiting from Washington State and staying nearby, so when I yelped mexican food Nana's Kitchen came up...good reviews, convenient and still open so we popped right over. They indicated that they were closing for a private party but the waitress said she would double check with the manager and they let us in as long as we didn't mind bellying up to the bar. We actually enjoy eating at the bar, so this worked out just great for us! The service was great, the margarita's and food were tasty. The private party showed up (I'm guessing at least 30 people!!) and the staff kicked it into gear! The crowd was fun, it seemed like a lot of family. Everyone knew everyone, including the staff I think! It was a pleasure to watch as the staff rallied to the challenge!! read more

This is me and my husbands favorite spot! We all know it can be difficult out to eat with a toddler sometimes and they are so helpful and make us feel so welcome. Everything on the menu is amazing! On Tuesday March 30th I attempted to bring my mother out for lunch at Nana's Kitchen, but not one employee was wearing a mask! Considering only 19% of the population has been vaccinated I'm not comfortable patronizing a restaurant NOT using any COVID-19 Protocol during this pandemic. Sooooo very disappointed!!!! read more

We tried Nana's kitchen for the first time and loved it! This family owned business has fabulous food and home style service. I had the chicken tortilla soup that was rich with. chicken breast and avocado. Absolutely delicious and as good as our favorite restaurant in San Diego. I also had the Chile relleno made with a light egg batter and lovely mole sauce. The cheese was quasi cheese rather than cheddar cheese which made it lighter and more delicious. We also sampled a couple of margaritas and they were all original and fresh with interesting twists on the traditional margarita. Highly recommend this place and will be back soon. read more

This place can get really busy on the weekends, but lunchtime is usually pretty reasonable, especially during the work week. The salsa is tasty, but each time I've gone, the red sauce (for enchiladas, burritos, etc) tastes like just plain tomato sauce. It doesn't taste like it has any other spice or seasoning added to it. Overall, a decent place for a casual Mexican bite though. read more

I am trying to support local businesses during the pandemic and Nana's Kitchen's website encourages take out orders but I have tried several times to call an order in and the phone just rings and rings. I believe a recording came on one time and said they do not accept messages. Too bad they have good reviews. read more

08/05/2022 Nana's was very busy but when we came in we were directed to one of the last tables by a Nana's employees. When we went to sit down another employee rudely and loudly said no this table is for someone else and move the chair away from my hand. He was so rude and then ignored when I tried to explain what had happened the other employee shrugged her shoulders and walked away. We left and will not return, to be treated so rudely in front of a full dining room was unacceptable. We used to go frequently but no more. Food is OK but Customer Service BAD. read more

This place rocks! I had enchiladas verdes and they were delicious! Portions are large and we were delightfully served by the owner Nana herself who was nice and very friendly. This has got to be one of the better Mexican joints around. It's not a fancy place - but if your into food the place is worth a stop. Come check it out. You won't regret it. read more

Every time I eat here I am impressed with the food! I believe that the location might lend one to think it was mundane however don't let the outside fool you! Whoever created the recipes and is cooking is doing an outstanding job! The only reason I don't eat here more often is that I don't live anywhere near the place. But anytime I'm even passing by on the freeway I come here to eat! read more

My husband and I were very happy to find Nana's Kitchen when we were on the search of some yummy Mexican food for dinner. We don't have a go-to place in our area of town so of course we used Yelp to help! The good stars for Nana's lead us to give it a try and I'm so happy we did! We ordered carry out because we have a 3-year- old that isn't always fun at sit down restaurants. I ordered the flat enchiladas and it was delicious! I've never had enchiladas made this way but I would definitely order them again. I selected the sweet sauce, which was good and unique but next time I would try the spicy. It's been mentioned in other reviews but the beans are so delicious! I had my leftovers today and wish I had more beans because they're so tasty! My husband had Nana's special burrito, with ground beef and potatoes. He enjoyed it but thought he would like to try something new next time we go. Our little guy had the small cheese quesadilla, which was perfect for him! I'm so happy with this find of a quality Mexican food restaurant that's not far from home!! We will be back! They also serve breakfast from 8am-11am and the burritos look awesome! I love that Nana's is a family business! I also love that they offer daily lunch specials (Monday-Friday). read more

Nana's Kitchen serves a wide variety of tasty Sonoran "comfort food". Prices are reasonable and portions are large. Those of us with large appetites struggle to finish one of Nana's legendary chimichangas! One of The best kept secrets is Nana's special tacos. The tacos are ground beef and potato in a a very light red sauce. I normally consider ground beef tacos sacrilegious in any good Mexican restaurant, but these are truly exceptional. She was friendly, gave us the history of the winery and shared with us what brought her to work at Old Pueblo. We were there a little over an hour sharing stories; how we met our partners, what's fascinating about wines and what makes Old Pueblo unique. The wines were delicious; 100% organic and prepared in a way where you enjoy every sit and get every bit of the flavor as intended. This is definitely saved on our list of wineries outside of California that we will be going back to. Just got to plan the next road trip.

They occasionally have food trucks, it is just difficult to discern what hours they are there and how to order food from them. There are a lot of taps but the most disappointing thing was that this brewery only offered one of their own beers. Everything else was from other breweries. A lot of good local ones, but when we go to a brewery we definitely want that brewery's creations. That is the main reason for the rating. Otherwise we really enjoyed this place and would come back when they have more of their own beer to offer.

My husband and I visit this resturant on a regular basis. This family owned and operated business it truly top notch.The serives that is delivered is always fast and friendly. The family always greets you as you walk into the door, making you feel like you truly are walking into your own "Nana's Kitchen". They ask you how you have been and they truly mean it, and also ask how the rest of our family is doing. They are promt to seat you, and ask you for your tables drink order. After only a few moments your drinks are delivered with the happiest expressions eager to take your order. Besides the great servie, the dining area, bar and restroom decore if fantastic. The large mural on the South wall is gorgeous! Besides the gorgeous colors, it is very clean!! Never have we scene the floors or the bathrooms have any debris. The food summed up in a word, can not be done! Every single adjitive that you could use to discribe there food would not be enough to sum it up. Our favorite is the Salsa and the Chimichangas. The chicken in the Chimies is so mouth watering, never dry and is full of flavor. The salsa is the best in town. You can tell that they make it there in the back! The family always is checking your table to see if you need refills, and you have no idea that they are watching. Very rare is it that my husband or I have nothing in our cups or have to ask for a refill. My husband and I truly support Nana's Kitchen as a local business and will contiune to enjoy a fabulous meal on a regular basis and encourage all to do the same and ENJOY! read more

Well I've never been to the restaurant, but you can be sure I never will. Driving the other day, a car began extremely tailgating me. Now keep in mind I was driving the speed limit. After a couple minutes, I pulled off the side of the road to let him pass. He passed and then as I pulled back into the lane he slammed on his brakes in front of me. (Now I know, you're thinking I did the same thing but I did not). I hate tailgating and if I can, I just pull off to let them pass. As he passed, I noticed a large window decal promoting Nana's Kitchen. I also noticed he had a young child in the passenger seat. He was driving a smaller sized white SUV with plates ASK####. (I won't list the whole plate). Clearly with a large full-sized window decal this is someone prominent with the restaurant. Clearly, someone who drives like such a jerk, slams on his brakes in front of other drivers, and could care less what kind of role model he is, will never have me as a customer. I wouldn't be surprised at all if the ownership/staff was full of pretentious snobs. (PS. I could have listed your entire plate, but I'm not that much of a jerk). read more

I take clients to Nana's all the time for some of the best Mexican food in Tucson. The staff is terrific and Marco always has a carne asada burro waiting for me. And don't even get me started on the homemade sangria. . . mmmm. Being a "gringa" I'm always teased about asking for Mexican ketchup - but all joking aside, their mild salsa is some of the most flavorful you'll find. We have been coming to Nana's for a long time and for good reasons. Great food, great service and feeling like you are family and not just customers. If you love mole, you'll love Nana's. The cooking is great, and they will customize your order. The selection and customer service is fantastic. There are plenty of selections even for a vegetarian. You've never tasted flan this good. Definitely a notch or two above your average Mexican restaurant. read more

The service was excellent, the food was ok, nothing spectacular, nothing horrible. It was a different style than the Mexican food I'm used to, but I believe that's just a different regional influence. The tamales were excellent, and should be tried if you visit this restaurant. read more
