Fried fish

Just had it and want more!! Got it to go but there is plenty of indoor seating. everything was so good! 1 catfish filet Yams Mac and cheese Greens Roll or cornbread And I got the Sweet Tea!

Baked chicken, Fish,Shrimp and meatloaf
Pat Lee D.

Ordered the fish combo (*included 1 fish filet and 6 shrimp) with greens and fries and cornbread. The cornbread was cold and didn't looked done. The shrimp was cold, fish was okay but I've had better. The greens were ok but had better. Asked for some hot cornbread and they stated, they were making it fresh and it came back out just heated and not made fresh..still showing not being cooked thoroughly. Fries were supposed to be the crinkle cut and they were shoestring. Asked for plain water..received water with lemon. The cake was not fresh. My two girlfriends food was terrible too..they ordered the meatloaf and baked chicken and it was not very tasty. The baked chicken was overcooked and the meatloaf was too thick and not tasty. The waitresses kept forgetting items that we needed. The atmosphere was ok. I will never come here again.

A Great Time

2 fried catfish with mashed potatoes + green beans

Food was great and customer service was great as well. You either call ahead or order inside when you get there. Food takes so out 15-20min to be ready. You wait in your car & they'll bring it out to you. You get 2 sides with every entree. I got the 2 piece fried fish with mashed potatoes (you can choose white gravy or brown) and green beans, comes with cornbread and 2 sauces. the total came out to be around $21. The young lady who took my order was soo sweet & kind. The food tasted AMAZING. The fish was so well seasoned that I didn't need any of the sauces. Crispy and hot. Mashed potatoes were buttery. Green beans were just your basic green beans. I barely finished the entire box, it was a lot of food.

Loved to support small businesses so we thought we would check out Nana's Kitchen. It was great! Hubby had the whole catfish with greens and green beans. I had the fried shrimp with Mac and cheese and greens. We also got 3 wings to try. Let me tell you that those greens are so good! They are full of garlic and have a kick! We are so many of them that we didn't get to the green beans. Hubby loved the catfish and I liked the shrimp too. The catfish was hot and fresh and seasoned well. The corn nuggets were really good too. Hubby liked the Mac and cheese and I believe it complimented the greens well. The wings were ok, but the catfish and greens were the hit of the meal. Overall, you have to try them if you are near.

Smothered Pork Chops Macaroni And Cheese Cabbage
Christie M.

I have seen several recommendations for this restaurant but a visit requires a planned trip as it is so far away. Finally today I was able to visit and my impression is very mixed. The dishes that are good are good but the ones that aren't make you say "what the hell" out loud. You will order inside and wait in your car for it to be brought out. Plate 1: 1 smothered pork chop with cabbage and Mac and cheese. The pork chop was tender enough to cut with the plastic fork and knife. It is slightly under seasoned considering it is pork covered in gravy but can be corrected. It is served with too much gravy for the container provided so there was a lot of leakage that made the other plates messy. The cabbage is all the white pieces and no green but tender. The Mac and cheese should be considered a punishable offense - pale watery unseasoned. It leaked out of the container the same way the gravy from the pork chop did. Plate 2: 1 fried pork chop with greens and Mac and cheese. This pork chop was better seasoned. Greens appeared to be from a can but they did add additional season. Mac and cheese see above. Plate 3: lemon pepper wings (no fries). Best dish. It appears that these are full size wings that have been cut down so they are a good size. They were well seasoned and had the right amount of crunch. Dessert: lemon pound cake. I was worried thinking that the cake would be old but it was very moist and had the right amount of sweetness. I was tempted to get another piece.

FOOD INSTAGRAM: @northtx.gemz ****…read more WHAT THEY'RE KNOWN FOR: upscale southern food that has one location in Fort Worth and Austin! THE VIBE: super cute and spacious. Very upscale area so the inside is upscale PRICE: ~$70 I think WOULD I COME BACK? Yes! **** Overall Rating: 9/10 - I was surprised by how fancy this place was (it is in the Clearfork shopping area which is known as a bougie shopping center so not super surprised). - The biscuits were so so good I wish that I took a picture of them but I recommend those for sure! The fried chicken and kale salad complemented each other so well I highly recommend as well. - The deviled eggs were good but they are just basic so you can skip those (unless if you were craving it). - The pimento cheese was very good too it was packed with flavor. I wish it came with more bread but I'm assuming we could've asked for more. - A little pricier than you would think but honestly this place had so much flavor I'm not gonna continue to complain about that lol.

We started with the biscuits and cinnamon roll. I would recommend both. The biscuits came with a jam, honey and whipped butter. The cinnamon roll, which may look a bit underwhelming had a such a great crispy texture on the outside while still being fluffy on the inside. The icing wasn't too sweet and complimented the roll nicely. For the table, we had the pollo frito biscuit w/duck fat potatoes, Brisket Benedict w/okra and the Fixe Breakfast entree w/maple sausage and potatoes. The pollo Frito was delicious, the chicken was seasoned well and maintained crunch even within the biscuit. Duck fat potatoes were also good but were even better after adding some salt. The brisket benny was okay, the texture of the brisket was very odd and didn't really hold up to the egg. Although the okra had a great flavor the batter was a bit too thick which made it chewy. The Fixe breakfast was great and the maple sausage was perfect. Our waitress was Adriana, she was great and very helpful. Overall we would definitely come back and look forward to trying dinner one night.

The General Manager was friendly and knowledgeable. The other staff were polite and helpful. It was a warm welcome to the establishment. I had multiple requests and they were all taken care of. Ambiance was good no complaints. Dining room was clean and comfortable. I like that they offer booths and tables for seating. The decor is simple with chicken art. The vibe is laid back and gives a little bit of country down to earth feel. Mimosas were definitely full of champagne! Chicken sandwich was moist and juicy. I like the slaw and pickles that come on it. I chose medium heat, but next time I want it a bit more spicy. I wanted sweet heat sauce on it. I think there was a slight misunderstanding with that. The sauce that comes on it doesn't have a kick. Quick fix they brought me a side of it. Once I poured that SWEET HEAT SAICE on my chicken sandwich it was magical. My mouth was happy and excited. This sauce definitely makes a difference. You will be singing to the chicken GODS lol. It made the chicken taste so good. The fries were hot, a bit salty for my liking. They give you a generous portion of fries though. The sweet potato fries seem to be the popular choice. Everyone had them on their table. I will have to try those. Overall a very good visit! I left satisfied and FULL! It's a popular place on weekend and they get a good crowd. You can order margaritas, beer or mimosas so that's a bonus. Thanks Cookshack for the hospitality.

When you walk into Drew's, you'll notice that the restaurant is small and the decor feel original. There isn't a singular thing that feels fancy or inauthentic. Quite frankly I don't think they care what the place looks like on the inside... and neither do I. It feels like you just walked into Drew's living room and he's about to slap yo momma with a flavor that would make a Cajun say, "owwwweeeeeeeee! Das sum goooood chick-un!" And it is. The skin is crispy, the meat itself is tender, and the spices mixture is clearly unique. The candied yams should be sent to all foreign enemies of state as they would likely usher in world peace. Sweet tea is balanced and refreshing. (And you can help yourself to a second refill if you're kind enough to your server.) But what, what is the best thing about Drew's? It's one of the few places left that feels real. Drew is in the back, cooking up chicken, like he always has since 1982 (or something like that). He'll come out and shake your greasy hand, sit down, chat and then get back to work. It's just awesome. First, major credit to Avery and Nancy, who were incredibly kind and patient considering we arrived fairly close to the end of lunch service before the restaurant closed for its afternoon break. We never felt rushed, which I really appreciated. I started lunch by ordering another cocktail (which may or may not have had me buzzing a little by this point) along with the 12 oz. prime rib steak served with buttery herb mashed potatoes, seasonal vegetables, and chimichurri sauce. I'll admit, the steak was thinner than I expected for Texas (I sort of anticipated a Flintstones-sized slab of beef) but honestly? It was fantastic. Juicy, flavorful, melt-in-your-mouth tender and cooked perfectly! The mashed potatoes were rich and even the vegetables were great! My dining companions ordered a bit lighter fare, I believe a salad and grilled cheese, but I was far too focused on my steak situation to pay close attention. I left absolutely stuffed and very, very, very happy about it. The atmosphere here is upscale without feeling pretentious. Between the Western inspired decor and the relaxed energy of the Stockyards area, it feels welcoming. Also worth noting: apparently bachelorette parties featuring men in cow-print overalls are welcome here too, so truly something for everyone. Great service, great food, and a really enjoyable dining experience overall. I'd happily come back the next time I find myself in Fort Worth!
