Great food!!!! Great service!!!!! Great ambiance!!!!! Go to dumplings!!!!!!!!!ll wooooha

Food was great, service was quick, very casual dining room. Definitely a go to spot for some good food.

Very good, lives up to standard. Cucumber salad and soup dumplings were especially good

Very good! I didn't realize it was the same store at the one in Flushing, which we really like! They have veggie soup dumplings and veggie dumplings which some in our group appreciated. Very notable, very attentive, great service! read more

Definitely a very casual spot. The setting is simple, and the service is pretty basic, but the food comes out relatively fast. The dumplings are decent and authentic, especially the new spicy beef dumplings, which were a highlight. The fried dough, however, was a bit disappointing and not something I'd order again. Overall, if you're looking for good, casual dumplings in the area without expecting a fancy dining experience, this is a solid choice. read more

They just opened not too long ago. We wanted soup dumplings. We hated Ugly Dumplings. We had Nan Xiang in NY. Came to test it out. Perfect. Soup Dumplings done right. Everything else on the menu was on point. Soup dumpling = good do it. read more

Great XLB, juicy, freshly made on the spot and full of flavor! The sesame chicken was also a standout. The wonton with sesame sauce was okay. Place was clean and inviting. Service was good and quick. Will be back! read more

We had a delightful and tasty experience. The food options were quite interesting and made it somewhat a challenge this first experience in selecting foods we'd love. With some help and insights from the server staff we made homerun selections and can't wait to come back. We opened with the wontons in spicy peanut sauce (6 pieces), Beef Scallion Pancake (unexpected plating, yet SO GOOD), the Nan Xiang Signature soup dumplings (we'd rate them only 2nd to Petite Sow Chow in Cliffside Park NJ which for us are #1 and worth the wait). We ended with the pan fried pork bun (4 piece)- wow a crowd pleaser for sure. Maybe with added BBQ sauce. Just a suggestion. All in all it was a relaxing fun food exploration. If you are looking for some good pork chops and dumplings, make sure eto check out Nan Xiang. We came here because it is much closer to us than their cherry hill or philly locations and we are so glad we did! Although the store front is basically not frills, it is very clean and the service was super friendly. 8 don't like that you have to order form a QR code, mostly because ours was not working, but a server came by and took our order as soon as I mentioned that the technology was not functioning. Let me cut straight to the chase- GET THE FRIED PORK CHOPS. Yes of course get whatever else you want, but these pork chops were amazing! They were perfectly marinated and juicy, the pictures do not do them justice. We also really liked the beef Scallion pancake (although it needs a sauce with it) and the sesame chicken. The pork dumplings were a bit underwhelming, so it would have been better to go with the soup dumplings but we were in pork mood clearly! I would absolutely return and try put other stuff on the menu. The menu is not too large, but they absolutely have a decent variety for everyone. I also loved seeing the cooks making the dumplings up front, ironically everyone that was working there was asian EXCEPT the two Latinas making the dumplings. Go try them and see what you think. read more

The braised beef noodle soup and the soup dumplings were the most notable dishes. The restaurant in general is casual and more of a serve yourself kind of situation. Would come back here in a heartbeat as the food was just that good. read more

Great value and excellent food ! Friendly service as well. Pork Soup dumplings signature is the best in the area !

Flavor of food 4 stars Portion size 3 stars Affordability 3 stars Located in the small strip mall with Olive Garden, this upscale casual soup dumpling spot seems to be getting some attention. I went for the dumplings but tried a few other things as well. My order was for shrimp spring rolls, pork and crab soup dumplings, and the Shanghai chicken noodles. The rolls were very good, extra crispy from more wrapper and a nice shrimp filling with just some sprouts and veggies. The dumplings were good and probably the best I've had among the few samples I've come across. The dough was perfect, filling very nice, but the broth inside had a creamy flavor that I was trying to identify. I'll try their signature soup dumplings next to see if I like that broth better. The noodles were pretty good but almost devoid of chicken or veggies, 2 lonely pieces of bok choy amongst the half dozen strands of sliced protein. The noodles themselves were firm and tasty, but I was thinking some scallion and other veg might perk this up. The portion size for the noodles was smaller than most Asian places I frequent. I'm rounding up to 4 stars for this, I'll revisit eventually since I pass by often. 5% cash discount read more

Fast casual version of Nan Xiang, limited menu but still carried the classics. Food is served in plastic dishes / ceramic dishes but did not take away from the experience. XLBs were served in steaming pots like the resto. Flavors are just as good, fruit teas come the jelly of you want and at a good price. Portions are not too bad at all. Service is fast and standard. Interior is well cleaned. Parking lot, ccs. Would recommend! read more

The soup dumplings are solid here! We got the chicken and crab/pork dumplings. Both were delicious but for peak flavor you have to eat them piping hot! Next time we'll have to try the vegetarian soup dumplings! We got a few side dishes as well. The shrimp and cheese dumpling were different but still good. The scallion noodles were chewy and the pork dumpling in a spicy peanut sauce had good flavor. The place was clean and efficient. We ordered on our phones and the food came out as they were ready. read more

First time here and it was ok. Order via QR code on table and menu quite limited. We ordered signature dumplings, veggie soup dumplings, spicy beef soup dumplings and braised beef broth noodles soup. Signature dumplings the best in size flavor and texture. Veggie dumplings must add soy sauce no flavor and bland. Spicy beef dumplings much smaller and looks like a wheat color dumpling. Also not spicy at all. Braised beef broth noodles very basic. Beef was mostly fat than any braised beef meat. The soup base was so oily it upset my friend's stomach. Service pretty quick but hard to understand her English. Ambiance - more casual but when you walk in you do have to be seated. There is also take out options as well. read more

Chinese next to Liuyishou Hotspot Lawrenceville, NJ A sister restaurant of Nan Xiang Xiao Long Bao restaurants located at NYC, Cherryhill NJ, Connecticut and Pennsylvania. The menu is limited compared to the sister restaurants. The pork soup dumplings were juicy and piping hot. The beef in the braised beef noodle soup was very tender and the soup had a little spicy kick to it. The menu included stir fried meal, rice bowl, dim sum and drinks. Our server was friendly and the restaurant was modern and spacious. You may use kiosk or App to order take out meals! read more

We ordered several dishes and all of them were good. The prices were a little on the high side but the average per head cost was still better than eating at a big fast casual restaurant chain. The food came out quickly. The restaurant wasn't super busy when we stopped by. We were seated right away. The staff was very friendly and nice. read more

Meeting with relatives for Sunday lunch, 5 of us ordered 2 orders of crab meat & pork soup dumplings (6pc) $10.95, 2 orders of pork sop dumplings (6pc) $9.95, pan fried pork bun (4pc) $8.95, wontons in spicy peanut sauce $9.95, steams vegetable dumplings (6pc) $9.95, stir-fried broccoli $7.95, beef scallion pancake (3 pcs) $8.95, fried pork chop $8.95, four happiness sponge tofu $7.95. As living in L.A. area, I have a higher expectation for Chinese foods, but I have to say two dishes are outstanding: fried port chop and beef scallion pancake, they are so...good, we even ordered one more fried port chop! It's a lot less crowded, about 50% full, compared to full house last year. read more

Would not recommend, while the food is nice the service is not so great last time I went in this lady double charged me for no apparent reason and both time adding tip which for a lot of people isn't much but to a normal person on their own it leave a dent. Be careful when paying. This was Friday the 21st around 6pm. They seem very shady telling half truths didn't even want to refund me or tell me that they are going to retrain the employee or fix their payment system.!!! read more

Nan Xiang Express - Shanghai Stir-Fried Bok Choy w. Garlic and Beef Scallion Pancake - Shanghainese Near Me - Lawrence Township, New Jersey

We were excited to find out a Nan Xiang Express opening up 30 min from us b/c I've heard raving reviews about Nan Xiang but they're all too far. In hindsight, we probably should have waited a couple months to let them work out the kinks. The place was very understaffed. We only saw 1 bus lady who couldn't clean tables fast enough (felt bad for her) while customers sat at dirty tables. We saw only 1 waitress, which may explain why it took a long time (30+ min) to get our food, and 2 of our orders were lukewarm. They really should hire more people on weekends. Onto the food, soup dumplings w/ crab meat is pretty flavorful however the skin was on the thicker side. The vegetable steam dumplings were delicious. The pork chop was so over-fried like eating pork jerky. The wontons with peanut sauce were not bad. Sorry to say we're underwhelmed. We might try again in the future if we're in the neighborhood and if there's not crowded. read more

Really wanted to try the vegan soup dumplings but unfortunately they're not available yet despite being listed on the menu. Got the vegetable noodle soup and wheat gluten salad instead. Food was decent, large portion sizes but salad was a touch too sweet for me and noodles were lacking something flavor wise It's more of a fast casual takeout spot but there is plenty of seating and parking available I think they're still figuring out their groove bc service was relatively disorganized and my food took pretty long to be ready Would come back to try vegan soup dumplings read more

Nan Xiang Express - Vegetable noodle soup and wheat gluten salad - Shanghainese Near Me - Lawrence Township, New Jersey

Solid food in a clean location with plenty of table seating. Service from start to finish was attentive, quick, and friendly. It's a good choice if you want something fast that's a step above fast food. We've been going there primarily for the soup dumplings, as there are very few places to choose from in Mercer County. The pork soup dumplings taste very good and have a good size. They're on par with the good, handmade ones from Shanghai Bun, but you're also paying $2 an order more here. My wife also enjoyed the crab soup dumplings. The wontons in spicy peanut sauce are also very good (although not super spicy), and I brought the leftover sauce home with me to use as a flavoring on rice. In the world of non-dumpling choices, the Scallion Noodles nicely flavored, chewy, and not limp and lifeless, and I've ordered them a couple of times now. The cold cucumber side is a solid choice as well. The scallion pancake was okay, but nothing to write home about (it needed more scallions). The hot sour soup has been the only thing I've had there that I'll definitely not try again--it wasn't all that bad, but it wasn't all that good either. Overall, the friendly service is what made the difference between three and four stars. On the negative side it seems a little pricey. That said, it's a good choice for a fast, tasty meal, and there are more items on the menu I'm looking to try. read more

Quick and delicious dumpling spot. Ordering via cellphone was a little complicated and glitched a little in the beginning but the food came out really quick. Really delicious pork soup dumplings! The pork and crab meat was good, but didn't taste much crab. The stir fried noodle tasted really good! Just a little too much oil though. The bok choy veggies were good and solid. Really liked the spicy peanut wontons! Wife and I really enjoyed the scallion pancake with beef! One of my favorites! We had a pickled veggie pork noodle soup dish. It was good, but didn't really stand out to us. read more

Amazing food and service! Nice and authentic Xiao long bao. We will for sure visit again!

Ordered takeout the other day. Thought I'd try this place because it was highly rated. I came away with the impression that the ratings are either botted or people didn't actually eat the food. The signature soup dumplings were mediocre at best. Scallion pancake with beef was dry and oily - not awful but not enjoyable either. The real low point was the sesame chicken. I struggled to find the chicken in those pieces of soggy breading. They're charging $16+ for this entree and skimping on the meat. Absolutely wild. The only reason it's not 1 star is I didn't get sick. Ended up tossing the whole meal. Didn't dare feed it to my wife and kid. read more

Mixed feelings. Went 10/12 so they were still in a soft opening stage but they were definitely open for 2 months. Seemed understaffed. We sat right down and ordered via the site, but didn't get any wait staff to visit our table preemptively at all. We had to ask for water, napkins, boxes and the check by flagging folks down. Cucumber salad was a bit meh compared to the other locations. Dumplings were all solid. Beef scallion pancakes were great. Miss the truffle dumplings in this Express model. I would say if we had gone up to a counter and ordered our food, then this place makes sense. For a sit down and no self serve options, service was something left to be desired. I'm going to go back in a few months and review. read more

I wavered between a 3 and 4 star but in the end, I think this place has a lot of good things and potential. We had the rice cakes with chicken which was good but a touch on the salty side. I don't know what's going on and it may be me but restaurants around here have been a bit heavy handed recently with salt. Soup dumplings. Very good, soupy and tasting really good. I don't know, I think they should mix the ginger with the vinegar and soy sauce for you as it is pretty standard but that was ok. I would have like them to slice the ginger a little more finely. That would have made eating them a bit easier with the sauce. The spoons were a little small so much of the soup fell on to the plate. Got the pan fried dumplings and these were also good. I think I would like them a touch bigger but they did taste very nice and no sauce needed with these as the filling was more than pleasing. The place is nicely decorated and modern. Very spacious - i think there was too much room from my seat (in the booth) to the table, actually. It was fine though. Will be back! read more

Was really excited to try this place - but rather disappointed at the end. I know its the soft opening now so hopefully they improve. Its "express" so either order at the kiosk or the QR code on the table. Ordered a variety of dishes. Soup dumplings are very good, slightly thick on the skin. The crispy pork buns were steamed, definitely not the way its supposed to be done. Needed more of a crisp on the bottom as well. The chive dumplings were definitely over boiled, the skins were absolutely falling apart. The noodles were under seasoned and the pork strips were way overcooked and bland. The bok choi was rather bland as well. Soy milk and scallion pancakes were "fine" read more

You can now have the city's best soup dumplings right here in central New Jersey! I absolutely loved the convenience of dining here. You don't need a reservation. Just walk in, place your order, and be prepared for satisfaction. The place was busy on a Tuesday night which is a good sign! The restaurant had a combination of booths and tables and was a comfy and casual atmosphere. These dumplings were so juicy, tender and flavorful. There's even plenty of options for the health-conscious diners, with veggie choices and customizable menu options. With the colder weather coming up, this will be a new go to spot for big portions and bold flavors. I highly recommend the chicken soup dumplings and the spicy beef soup dumplings, both unique in their own right. If you're looking to steer away from the dumplings and add another entrée, you have to try braised beef noodle soup. Rich broth and huge chunks of tender beef. And the crispy sesame chicken rice bowl is a crowd pleaser for those who want a familiar dish. I will definitely be back here soon! read more

You scan a QR code located in your table to order. We got soup dumplings, spicy peanut wontons and the spicy crispy chicken and fried pork chop bowls. The soup dumplings were hot fresh and full of soup and the skin was tender. The wontons were huge in a good way, the sauce had a good thick peanut sauce and an appropriate amount of chili oil - very good. The spicy crispy chicken... not very crispy... the (overly) sweet sauce softened any chance of the breading being crispy. The STAR was the fried pork chop. Crispy, subtle sweet, savory, but not dry... really good. The bowls were served with a bed of rice and a bit of steamed broccoli. My husband got the rice separate so he could have the spicy (not) crispy chicken and the kid could get the rice and broccoli. We split the rice and broccoli in the pork chop bowl. Food was tasty. I'd go back again. read more
