    Spicy Chicken & Waffle sandwich
    Jerry P.

So it goes with high hopes. I ordered takeout from Flamin Feathers for lunch because I enjoy the minor gamble of trusting new places. Life is full of gambles. Love. War. Fried chicken. I went for the Flamin Waffle Sandwich at the "hot" spice level, which seemed brave at the time and possibly foolish in retrospect. The chicken itself was quite good. Really. Juicy. Spiced like someone back there still cares about seasoning. The flamin sauce was a pleasant surprise too. Tangy. Spicy. I could hear it saying, "I got you," as it met the chicken. And then came the waffle. It was supposed to be the bread. It was not. It was more of a warm sponge that gave up the moment it was asked to perform a structural task. Fell apart like a wet paperback novel in a monsoon. Possibly edible with a fork if you like your sandwiches like that. I don't. Then there were the fries. Imagine someone steamed them by accident and then whispered to them about what crispness might have felt like in another life. They arrived clumped together in greasy clusters, like they'd survived something traumatic and refused to let go of each other. Sorry, but I generally prefer my sides to not be trauma bound, thank you very much. Eighteen dollars and ninety-nine cents. For that. I wanted to love this place. I wanted to be the guy who discovered the next neighborhood gem. But lunch isn't a metaphor. Lunch is lunch. Three stars because the chicken was good and because I'm not a monster. Be careful with your lunch money.

Ever since this one opened a few months ago, one of our daughters wanted to eat there. So we went there for dinner on a late June evening. We ordered a flaming hot chicken sandwich. The service was good and the sandwich was very tasty. Our daughter was happy. We will probably have to go there again soon.

‼ Long Post Alert: Dissatisfied Customer at Hot Chicken Flaming Feather Burger (Lawrenceville, NJ - Next to Costco)‼ I really hate that I even have to make this post, especially with everything else going on in life, but I feel it's important to share my experience. Today, I found a long black hair in my food at Hot Chicken Flaming Feather Burger in Lawrenceville, NJ. Naturally, I lost my appetite. I don't know about you, but once I see a hair in my food, I can't eat anymore. It's done for me at that point. We had spent $60 on our meal. When I brought it to their attention, the manager took the food and asked if I wanted something else. I politely declined and said I'd prefer a refund. That's when things started going left. Instead of simply apologizing and refunding the money, the owner came out aggressive, questioning me, demanding to know whether I saw his staff wearing hairnets. He tried to turn the situation on me like it was my fault. He said he could only refund the money if I could confirm whether I saw them wearing hairnets or not. Huh?? I found a hair in my food -- why are we even arguing? Then, it escalated further. He tried to kick us out without giving us our money back. He only wanted to refund the cost of the one item (the chicken taco) that had the hair in it -- not the rest of the meal, even though we didn't eat any more of it after that. And yes, the attitude stayed nasty. Aggressive tone. No accountability. Just rude. So I had no choice but to call the police -- not because we were aggressive, but because the situation was escalating and we were being threatened and disrespected. We needed protection. Once the cops arrived, it was deemed a civil matter, so the owner reluctantly gave us a refund for just the taco -- $13 out of the $60. That's it. To make matters worse, my husband had generously paid for the meals of three students behind us, and didn't even ask for that money back. We just wanted a refund for our own food that we couldn't eat. And if that wasn't enough -- I later got a call from the police saying someone claimed an "African American was being aggressive" at the restaurant. Excuse me? That is not our responsibility and certainly not true about us. Let's not try to twist the story. So, I'm making this post to say: I was a paying customer. I found a hair in my food. I was mistreated, disrespected, and denied basic customer service. I was threatened and then racially stereotyped afterward. Do NOT support Hot Chicken Flaming Feather Burger in Lawrenceville, NJ. They don't value customers. They don't value respect. They don't value basic decency. Especially to my Black community -- please stop spending money where you are disrespected and disregarded. This was an awful and embarrassing situation. I'll say it again: DO NOT EAT THERE.

    Wagyu smash burger

The wagyu burger was decent, nothing insane flavor wise but a good meal. The wait times can be quite long though and the service could definitely be friendlier. The shop is pretty nice inside though with the decor and lots of seating. Price is too expensive for what you're paying for in my opinion.

Such good food. Burger is juicy and fries are loaded. Everything is well seasoned and delicious. We ate this at least 9 times.

It's good. Nice spicy sandwich. I like the country music flare but a bit more money to buy a sandwich.

The only issue I have with this location is that they are VERY slow at check out. I waited almost 15 minutes just to pay for a single croissant with only five people ahead of me, which is a bit crazy in my opinion. I really wanted a coffee but at that point knew it was going to take another 15 minutes so I just ran next door to blue lane. Overall worth it for a little treat as long as you aren't in a rush on the weekends! I really recommend the nutella cronut:)

It's not the place I go to when looking for a life-altering culinary experience--I go there when looking to feed my face fast and move along with my mission. I usually get one of their savory pastries or a croissant, or perhaps a pain au chocolat if the urge hits me. They all taste okay, and they get the job done. The only thing I've had there that was a definite "Never Again" was the hot dog--a desiccated disaster in every way imaginable. On the flip side, the cheese quiche has been a winner those times I had it. It didn't take me back to the Alsace, but it was better than average. I had some cake from here recently. Visually, it looked fantastic, and the interior was moist (dry cake is a crime!), and it had all kinds of chocolate on it and in it, but the flavor was just "good". My socks remained on after tasting it. It was like they left the something special out that would have taken it from good to memorable. It looked great, but the taste didn't quite live up to the visuals. I'd eat it again, but I wouldn't go out of my way to get it for someone's birthday. The people working there are nice, but it can be a bit slow sometimes to make it through the register during the breakfast or lunch hours, especially if there's an indecisive person in front of you who changes their mind every fifteen seconds while picking up some pastries for the office, and she's oblivious to the five people waiting in line behind her. Although it's not the sort of place that's going to me primary destination, I'll keep on going here when I'm starving and need something to get me through my trip to the Home Depot. It gets the job done.

I'd like to share how pleased I am about this tea cafe. I came here on a cold and snowy Saturday,…read morebecause my friends live nearby and I was going over their house to hang out, but I wanted to get tea first. The employees behind the counter were cheerful, and they say a phrase in Japanese that means, "welcome," which is a nice touch. The first thing I noticed in the shop was the matcha mill. They actually have two matcha mills running the entire time, and the employee later told me that it's milling and grinding the matcha to get the freshest matcha possible. Grinding and serving the matcha from its fresh ground state really makes their matcha stand out, and I could definitely tell. I was thinking about getting a cold matcha anyway because I didn't want to microwave it later, but they informed me that their machine for hot matcha wasn't working. That is not the best situation for people who wanted a hot drink, especially since it was so cold and damp outside, but I was really interested in a cold drink anyway, so it didn't really bother me. I got their red bean matcha with oat milk, and I was so happy when I drank it because it tasted like actual real matcha. I've gotten matcha at Starbucks and Dunkin' Donuts and I haven't expected anything phenomenal, but I've also gotten matcha at matcha shops and the matcha just doesn't taste right because it was too sweet. This matcha, however, tasted exactly the way matcha should taste! I really, really enjoyed my drink so much, and they serve it unsweetened. I didn't even need to put sweetener in it, but I did put a tiny bit of simple syrup. All I have to say is definitely try this place. You will not be disappointed. Their matcha is amazing, and I am going back to this place every time I visit my friend's house.

Omg, I can't wait until our Wegman's in Cranberry Twp, PA opens in 2027...but in the meantime when…read moreI travel I love if I happen to be staying near one. This was my first visit to Wegman's in Princeton, NJ. Someone else was correct in their review saying that the parking lot is crazy. Please be careful & look ALL ways, especially elderly folks. There are cars literally coming from all directions and then of course people walking behind you and in front of you and beside you it's quite the zoo (and this was a non-holiday Sunday morning! ). I had placed an order on the Wegmans app while I was at my hotel for pick up at 11:30am. My app said to go inside to the curbside to go sign to get my food. Maybe I missed it but at the other Wegmans, there was even a sign outside indicating where the food to go department was located... I did not see that on the outside of this building but I could've missed it. Also, once inside I headed to where the prepared foods were, but I also saw no sign indicating food to go, only catering. I asked two women at the bakery counter & they had conflicting answers one pointing me to one end of the store and saying I had to drive up in my car to pick it up and the other pointing towards catering. Since my app did not indicate that I was picking up curbside in a car, I headed towards catering, and that was indeed where the to go food was located. It was 11:20am & my food was ready & in the cooler. They bagged it for me and I was on my way. I didn't have the time to walk around inside this Wegmans, but it looked pretty standard for the store. My favorite part about Wegmans is the massive prepared food/made to order/restaurant section. On this particular trip, I was getting my husband a large Danny's favorite sub to take home, and for myself I got a protein turkey wheat wrap with veggies & a fruit bowl for my 5 hour road trip & a Wegman's brand dragonfruit vitamin water. Wegman's is the Cadillac of grocery stores. No other store compares. You really have to experience one to understand the concept.
