Fenglin Home is a convenient and affordable choice for Sichuan food on the go, and they have a wide selection of dishes. They're located right at the entrance of Asian Food Market. Some of the dishes are pre-made and in the cold case so they are ready quickly, and a lot of customers order before entering Asian Food Market and pick up their food when they finish shopping. You can also order for pickup over the phone at 609-378-5791, or order on Chowbus for pickup or delivery. They're open 6 days a week (closed Tuesdays). Of the dishes I've tried, I would recommend: Baked Pepper Preserved Egg 烧椒皮蛋 ($8.95) - very spicy cold dish with century eggs and chili peppers. Spare Ribs W. Sweet Rice 糯米排骨 ($10.95) - steamed ribs with glutinous rice. Although the meat isn't the best quality and is on the fattier side, it's great for the price point, and it's better than the steamed rice powder & spare ribs here. Ye Er Ba 叶儿粑 ($1.50 each) - I got one with perilla and peanut filling, but I think they also make a pork version. It's a steamed dessert made of glutinous rice flour and a sweet, lard-y filling. I don't know of anywhere else in the area to find it. I do agree with a recent reviewer that I would prefer that they focus on food quality over price. The Chongqing Pao Cai 重庆泡菜 ($5) I got was incredibly salty and inedible, and the Duck with Ginger 姜鑾烧鸭 ($13.95) was incredibly oily. I'm skeptical of the freshness of their products: dishes are still visibly left in the cold case when they're closed on Tuesdays. Still, they're convenient, very good value for the price, and they do have a lot of dishes that are hard to find in the area.

Fenglin Home is in the front area of Asian Food Mart, and a splendid option for picking up some quick, authentic Szechuan food either pre or post groceries. This time around, I got some Mapo Tofu w/ white rice, and the Liang Pí (cold flat noodles w/ sauce) -- both absolutely delicious! On other occasions, I have also tried to szechuan sausages. I highly recommend giving these a try. They are packed with flavor and go amazing with a bowl of fresh white rice.

Top: steamed rice powder & pork Bottom: double cooked pork

The choice of materials combined with the skills of the chef make this an outstanding place to order Sichuan cuisine. 粉蒸肉 is a great treat.

Convenient location. Husband really enjoys the liangpi. Menu needs updating. English words don't always match Chinese food names.

Still exploring the menu here but everything we've had is excellent. The Mapo Tofu is spectacular! So glad they opened.

For this year's Chinese New Year, I decided to take the family there for our New Year dinner, and the food was just as good as I remembered. The place hasn't changed a bit, the decor still looks exactly how I remember it, which brought back memories. Since some of my family and friends don't enjoy the same spice level as I do, we adjusted the heat for dinner, and everything still came out fantastic. We ordered the whole steamed fish, happy fish, green beans, tea smoked duck, pork chop, beef pan fried noodles, and more. Every dish was delicious, and the flavors were spot on. The service was a bit tentative at times, but the quality of the food definitely made up for it. Overall, it was a wonderful meal and a great way to celebrate. I definitely need to come back more often.

It seems that both the pepper steak and chicken with broccoli were in the same sauce (& I've actually found that to be common in this area for some reason) but were tasty overall. The egg roll was quite greasy and the wonton soup was pretty solid with the broth being the star. Oh the white rice was cooked how I expect and wish all Chinese white rice is cooked so that's a plus. Overall a true 3.5 star rating but since halves aren't possible I had to go to 3 because it certainly wasn't a 4.

The sauce had just enough numbing warmth without overpowering the dish, and every bite was incredibly satisfying. Beyond the appetizer, the restaurant offered a warm atmosphere and attentive service that made the dining experience even better. The presentation was thoughtful, portions were generous, and the flavors tasted authentic and carefully prepared. Glad I made a reservation via Google Assistant b/c it was a full house plus tons of people waiting (1hr) for their takeout orders. Great sign! We ordered quite a bit for 3 of us b/c we're excited to try them out. We loved them all especially the wontons in the authentic sauce as it should be (not in sesame or peanut sticky sauce), the salt/pepper chicken as how I remembered from back home, the delicious noodle soup with tender beef and tendon, and the flavorful black bean fish. The restaurant is nice and clean. They're busy but the kitchen was pretty quick. The waitress brought out the dish as it's done, not waiting to serve all dishes at once. We actually preferred this way. The wait staff were attentive and friendly. We really enjoy our dinner. It's less than 30 min for us; we will definitely return to try some Sichuan dishes.

We only had to wait 15 minutes for a table. Comfy benches are around the corner to the left. Ricardo greeted and helped serve us. He was especially gracious with my 90 year old aunt. Her safety and enjoyment were my top priorities! We enjoyed our unhurried meals, asking that each dish come out when it's ready so we could all share. Pass. This might satisfy a homesick student because there's nothing better, but we can do much better at home or at Flushing. The best dish was the chopped cabbage dish - that was closest. Lamb skewers were too thick and not seasoned enough. Monstrous plate chicken - good thing we had two, because they weren't all that big for 6 of us, and no spicy adjustment allowed (couldn't do not spicy, but ended up eating it.. and it wasn't spicy). Beef w/tomatoes was better - potatoes felt like they were deep fried and thrown in, not at all taking in any of the sauce. Big groups could have a hard time finding seating - this gets busy and their tables are really designed for 2-4. Staff was also mostly non-Mandarin speaking students that hung around and talked amongst themselves instead of checking on our experience, refilling water, or getting the check until we flagged them down.

We took out a few dishes from the new ownership and were utterly disgusted with the quality. It's been a few more years. I am not sure if ownership changed again, but we decided to give it another chance. I didn't recognize the owner - not sure if it was because of the absence of mask. But first impression was she didn't care to be cordial or friendly, just doing the basic part as a wait staff. On the plus side, the chairs and tables have been upgraded from what I could remember. We ordered our usual dishes in order to gauge the current quality. 2 staple Sichuan dishes: Kung Pao Chicken ($14.95) and Shredded Beef with Hot Green Pepper ($17.95). We also added a noodle dish: Sauteed Noodle with Pork & Scallion ($11.95). Kung Pao Chicken was rendered differently - sweeter and not as dark but tasty none the less. The Shredded Beef was also slightly different, thicker and obviously tenderized with baking soda. It was good enough. The sauteed noodle was good but it's a generic dish so no authenticity to consider. A number of deviations from prior experience. The chicken and beef dishes each only 1 bowl of rice, instead of a big serving bowl for the table. We had to ask for one additional bowl of rice. Not sure if it was missed but we didn't get charged for it. The tea wasn't complimentary any more. $1.50 for the pot. Overall, we weren't disappointed because we came in with low expectation. We will be back again hoping to see that they can at least maintain the same consistency.

The restaurant is medium in size, with bright orange walls, framed art pieces adorning them, and booths lined up against them. Tables seating up to 4 people sit in a row in the middle as well. We were seated at a booth. We ordered the following: #717 - rice cake Shanghai style. This was the best item in my opinion. The rice cake was nice and chewy. #925 -braised whole fish with hot sichuan bean sauce. We were told that this will take 25 minutes to cook. Hubs liked it a lot. I thought it was ok but I felt that the fish was hard. #933 - short rib and bitter melon in black bean sauce. This was disappointing because the bitter melon was hard and barely cooked. There were only a couple pieces of the melon. It's also not short ribs and hubs was disappointed about that. It was actually spare ribs. They also put sweet potato noodles underneath the casserole to make it look like the entree was bountiful. Guess they're trying to save money. #S12 - Thai style hot and spicy basil chicken and shrimp. This was daughter's favorite dish. She thought the shrimp was nice and soft and the chicken was nicely cooked. There were lots of fruit flies and they were getting annoying because they were hanging by our table the entire night. Daughter figured out that they were attracted to the decorative carrots because it was marinated in vinegar. We moved it out of our way and it was ok after that, but we didn't realize it until we were midway through our dinner. The fruit flies were hanging on the wall by our booth. This is one of the reasons I don't like to sit at a booth. Flies and fruit flies are attracted to booths and don't move away. Note to self, do not sit in a booth if there are tables in the middle of the restaurant. We came here almost 10 years ago and liked it a lot. I've been wanting to come back here for a while. I was pretty disappointed this time. Don't think we'll be returning.
