I wish I had read some reviews before going - I didn't realize that the ice cream was soft serve as opposed to a traditional ice cream. No regrets! There was ample parking and seating indoors and outdoors. The artwork and colors were funky and fun. I ordered a Monsoon swirl with walnuts and Black Forest chocolate cake. My mom got the Donatello with chocolate. The portions were pretty big so I ended up bringing some home. I'm not an expert on vegan ice cream but I found the consistency to be delicious and light. Would return for a cold treat in this heat! I originally gave the ice cream 4 stars but added a star because the staff cared about wearing masks and were thoughtful to ask how to pronounce my name instead of butchering it. I am such a huge fan!! I was in Phoenix for three nights.. and I came to Nami three times! If I lived in Phoenix, I would surely be a regular! I twice stopped in for a tsoynami, which is the vegan answer to a blizzard. I tried the "Betterfinger" one night and the peanut butter and chocolate kind the second. Always they were delicious. I wish more places were doing this soy soft serve! I also came for breakfast on a Saturday morning. I ordered a bagel sandwich with tofu, tempeh, and vegan cheese. It was really good, and it came with a side of fruit. The only critique would be that it took a really long time. But good things come to those who wait! I also grabbed an apple fritter for my breakfast the next morning, as I had an early flight to catch and no time to find something vegan to eat downtown or at the airport. I'd like to start by saying I have been going to Nami since they opened at least 10 yrs ago. So I feel qualified to give a fair and honest review. i struggled between 1 or 2 stars and settled on 2 due to my long history with Nami. I have no specific complaints about the staff or Service, my BIG complaint is about prices vs portion size. I understand the impact of inflation but that needs to cease being an excuse. I will use for example their "Clunky Monkey" frozen yogurt desert, one of my favorites. It now costs double what it originally sold for. I might understand that, as everything has gone up. But.... the serving size has been reduced by at least half It's original size. So, in effect Nami is charging 4X now for the same ClunkyMonkey. I can tell you bananas, pecans, yogurt have not gone up 4x in price. In fact the last Monkey I bought about a week ago ( and it will be my last), the "small" cup was not even full of yogurt, it was probably 60% full. I finally felt I must leave a review since I need to take a position on price gouging , not only with Nami but others as well. $7+ for a small, partially full cup of frozen yogurt with a few slices of banana and 5-6 pecan halves is it for me. I love Clunky Monkeys on a hot Phoenix day but when you feel you are being taken advantage of, they don't taste as good any more. read more

My family surprised me with the most adorable vegan/gluten free cake (Strawberry Blonde flavor) for my birthday. The order was placed online and the website made the process a breeze. The cake was moist and not overly dense... which can be a problem with GF cakes.The frosting (on the sweeter side) was speckled with strawberry pieces which gave the cake a gorgeous color. The service my son received, upon pick up, was excellent (even walked the cake to the car because he was on crutches). This ended up being one of the best GF Vegan cakes we have had in Arizona. The tSoynamis are life-changing!! I'm not vegan, but I would choose these over an ice cream / dairy-based dessert any day. They're super refreshing and the flavor combinations I've tried so far- Rocky Road, Fruity (with frozen mangos, peaches, & strawberries), and Chai Tiramisu- have been spot-on. My favorite has to be the Chai Tiramisu (not pictured), but don't underestimate the power of the Fruity flavor. Amazing desserts! You really shouldn't pass up this place if you have the chance to go. I have a huge sweet tooth, and they have lots to choose from! The tsoynamis are incredible, and they have a huge list to cater to every craving! They also have a breakfast in the morning, I think only on weekends, but I havent yet made it for that. There isn't much parking, but it's super worth it. The people are super kind, and the vibes are so cute. We stopped by yesterday to get some gluten and dairy free desserts for a couple of our friends. We got some donuts with raspberry glaze, snickerdoodle sandwich with vanilla stuffing, and mini cheesecakes. They were all so good and our friends really liked them. They said that the donuts were more airy than most gluten and dairy free donuts, and the cheesecake tasted like the real thing. What's not to like about vegan creations?! Especially vegan soft serve?? We usually stop by Nami after a visit next door (Green). It's too tempting not to! The staff are very friendly, despite being so busy. I don't think I've ever been to Nami and not waited in line...but it usually goes pretty quickly. I placed an order for a vegan carrot cake on July 25th to be ready for pick up by August 2nd by noon (for a birthday). I show up to pick up my order after receiving multiple order confirmations and no one could find my order. As if it never existed...what's funny about this is that one of the employees had been saying that it was "a slower time" so you would think that they should be on top of the orders they are getting. As a vegan new to Phoenix, I was super excited to try Nami for Sunday brunch and some yummy baked goods. Nami definitely didn't disappoint and I'll be back often to indulge in some decadent breakfast pastries and desserts. Bonus: Nami is not only 100% vegan, there are multiple gluten-free options. The restaurant itself is quite small with limited seating, so you may have to wait a bit for a spot to open up. The good news is that people seem to move through quickly, so despite the crowds I have been able to find a spot on both of my visits. I wouldn't say the ambiance is anything spectacular, but that's ok since the food speaks for itself. I had a gluten-free blueberry donut and huevos rancheros on my first visit. Both were really good and I was impressed by the gluten-free donut since most are pretty similar to regular cake and not very donut-like. This donut was amazingly close to an old-fashioned cake donut and was the best I've had so far. My omnivore boyfriend said he enjoyed his food and would come back, although I'm guessing that was because he saw how happy I was and not that he was blown away by the food and it's ability to replicate an animal-based breakfast. On my second visit, I decided to try the betterfinger Tsoynami special (made with chick-o-sticks and chocolate chips). It was really good and the portion was gigantic. I honestly wish there was a smaller size offered; I don't think I could finish one again as it's quite filling. I emailed my order and I got a reply asking if there's anything I wanted to be piped on top and after I told them what I wanted, I got no reply back to ensure that they were on it or if it was going to be ready. I showed up to pick up the cake and I was glad that it was there waiting for me. The day after we cut the cake we had some more and the cake was even tastier. Not sure why but I thought it was already delicious, but now it was even better! I've been coming to Nami for over a year and driving that hour and a half is always worth it. The product itself is decent and seems reasonably priced for being vegan. My main issue is with the atmosphere of the store itself being one that I would never want to stay for a long time at. I got the S'mores tSoynami with Vanilla soft serve. It was about the sise of a S-M Dairy Queen Blizzard and it was $6. I felt like that was a pretty good price given that many non-vegan ice cream concoctions could be that price. There was definitely a hint of soy taste in the ice cream, but in terms of texture and flavor I wouldn't have felt disappointed to have it rather than traditional ice cream. I don't know what the lil crunchie pieces were that they used to mimick the graham crackeryness of a s'more but they were really tasty and didn't end up getting soggy in the ice cream. I also got a small regular coffee with almond milk. There wasn't anything unique, good or bad, about it. I wouldn't be mad to have it again. But onto the store itself. When I entered the place, there was one other party there, seated, waiting for their order. There were three employees working behind the counter and not a single one greeted or even acknowledged me until I approached the counter to order. I was perusing the menu for quite a while, and I feel like with this kind of unique product offering, employees should be prepared to at least ask if customers needed help or information on their menu. Once I got my food, I tried to sit down inside and there just wasn't anywhere comfortable to sit for more than about 10 minutes. I don't know if this is a COVID thing, but I didn't see anything on their website about their seating situation being compromised at the moment. The only option for seating were wooden benches attached to the wall, and there was a singular coffee table for the whole room, that could probably seat 20 people. Basically a whole alcove of the room was just benches on the wall. I sat down to read my book -- I wasn't even trying to get actual work done -- and immediately realized that that was not an option given the noise in the room. The music was loud, but that's sort of the norm in some cases, but what was loudest was the three employees talking to one another. I've worked customer service before (Starbucks, Nordstrom, etc.); I get that you have a good time with your coworkers and I get that sometimes things get a little crazy. But I could not believe how LOUDLY they were laughing, how they were actively doing things to make each other laugh, and how they were gossiping with one another about how someone they knew ate McDonald's fries and still has "vegan" in their Instagram bio (I am not making this up). It's not like this behavior is patently offensive to me; it just really narrows the kind of trips I would make to this establishment. The tl;dr is: Good product, decent price, but take it to go and don't plan on spending much time inside the store itself. read more

This time I ordered the Country Breakfast Burrito ($9.75), added some kale ($1) and the order was ready for pick-up exactly when I requested. The burrito is decadent but balanced wonderfully -- tofu scramble, breakfast potatoes, tempeh, sauteed peppers, kale, and with a drizzle of maple syrup, served with a side of spicy red salsa. I doscovered the little gem in my search to find a new breakfast place. I was delighted to see such great reviews by other Yelpers. I pulled onto the parking lot and was directed by an employee that the blue building is not Nami, but the one next door. Helpful as the two share a parking lot. The inside of Nami is quaint with retro fruniture and art mixed in with little cacti in the windowsills and proud displays that they are open to all. The menu stretches across the wall and features assorted coffee drinks, pastries and a lovely hot breakfast menu. From what I could tell, all of the items are organic. I ordered a samoan but received a samoan bar instead of samoan donut instead. This was quickly remedied by the friendly cashier. The hot chocolate was also delightful with almond milk, my favorite. They also had a small offering of other items such as boxed crackers, cookies, candy, etc. Their restroom out back was decorated in a modern style. Cutest little shop in cenpho! Stopped by for a quick coffee and donut. I ordered the infamous cactus haboob which by the way taste amazing! It's like the perfect iced coffee concoction! I also got the raspberry chocolate donut. And it was good for being a vegan donut. However, a little too bready? If that's even a word. It was literally like a fried piece of bread with icing. Next time I will try a different donut. If you're looking for an airy donut definitely don't get this one. It was yummy overall. Their menu is pretty to the point they have their espresso, coffees, iced coffees, and their signature drinks. They also do brunch and all sorts of other yummy meals which I will try next time! Customer service was great cashier was very friendly.
