Very quaint, cute family-owned cafe. I got to talk with the daughter and she explained that she runs the front of the house and all the drinks, and her mom does all the baking in the back! You can't get more authentic than that! I couldn't help but try a few things. There are not many places doing Filipino style desserts, so I gave in and splurged. I got a slices of Sans Rival ($8), original brazo de mercedes ($5), and ube brazo de Mercedes ($5), and of the three, the Sans Rival was my favorite. It tasted very light, but wish the meringue was a little crispier and there were more cashews. The brazo de Mercedes wasn't bad, but I think I learned that I'm just not a big fan of this dessert haha. The meringue roll outside was okay, but the filling was super dense. I know this wouldn't be traditional, but it almost needed a light cream or something to help marry the outside and inside. One piece of feedback I'd give the cafe is that the plastic take out boxes are very flimsy - I was scared one of my desserts would fall over or crush the one below it. Overall, very cute cafe to check out if you're in the area!

This quaint cafe is next door to our pup's groomer so decided to try it. It's pretty, clean cafe with wonderful service - very friendly; nice music in the background. I had cappucino with Sansrival cake - you get a massive slice. Its light meringue layers with buttercream and cashews - delicious, I thoroughly enjoyed it! They have sandwiches available, fresh & made to order. Large variety of caffeinated & non‐caffeinated drinks and of course sweets. Definitely be back to try other offerings.

Amazing! Review for sandwiches only. Came in because another place was closed. Best surprise ever!! THE SANDWICHES ARE SO GOOD!! 100/10. They bake the pandesal bread in house. It looks like the patties are in house as well. The sauce, patties, bread - everything was so good! If you're familiar with Michelin recognized Kasama in Chicago, this is a good dupe!! Very yummy flavors here at Central Bean Cafe.

Best & Softest Pan De Sal In Phoenix First Time Visit First Impressions Very airy and wonderful aesthetics designed decor with an upscale vibes across from JL Patisserie and next to King Pigeon Vintage & Thrift Store. Pesto, Sun Dried Tomato on Ciabatta- Very soft ciabatta bread. It's very good. Nutella Latte- Very good. Their coffee beans are from Xanadu. Pan de Sal- The softest well made roll. They make this fresh daily in house. The best in Phoenix! Served with jelly and cream cheese. This is the spot to find the softest pan de sal. Torta de Cebu- It's very light brioche with sugar and cheese. It's very good. A very relaxing place to study with soft music in the background. You can take dates here for an intimate talk. Good for a business meeting. You can even order lechon Cebu style. Just call them and ask. Overall this place is great. You got Uptown Plaza close by.

TRY THIS PLACE OUT!!! You must get the Longginsa breakfast sandwich!!! I had the Nutella coffee it could have been stronger as far as the coffee but it was good and not too sweet. The Longgnisa breakfast sandwich was the star in my opinion! 10/10 must get! The sausage patty was house made it's sweet and salty, the bread pan de sal is also home made and it's delicious! It's a perfect balance! They due sell out because everything is house made so make sure to order early! The service was amazing! The owners are super sweet and welcoming! It's like you're having someone home cook meal in all the best ways! The inside is small but very cute decor! Try it out and tell 10 friends! Gotta keep this place around for a long time!

A great find! My husband had mentioned this place to me and thought since we're in the area we would drop by and check the place out. It was a cute and quiet atmosphere. They had beautiful paintings up on the wall and plenty of area to sit down to and get some work done. Ariana was friendly, welcoming, and informative with all the questions I had about the drinks and pastries. She also offered pastry samples which was great because I wasn't too familiar with all of them. I ordered the ice white hazelnut latte with just the right amount of sweetness. I also ordered the Sansrival cake and the Silvanas cookie. I definitely enjoyed the Sansrival cake especially the Silvanas cookie! I love how soft and delicious the Silvanas cookies were. Every bite brings me back to the Philippines; such a nostalgic feeling. I bought a pack of 6 and didn't even want to share but I did of course share which made me realize I should have bought another pack! Check them out and please do try the Silvanas cookies they're an absolute delight!

OMG! I have been wanting to try their longanissa breakfast sandwich. My daughter took me for Mother's Day today. So delish! This Filipina owned mother and daughter spot is so special. The drinks, the service the pastries were amazing! The pan de sal is made fresh daily! The best I had in a long time. We even took some to go! Please support this locally owned small business.

Dropped in this morning for a white hazelnut latte and tried the new Spicy Beef Breakfast Sandwich. 10/10. It's flavorful and not too big or greasy. Highly recommend!!

Longanisa and Egg Sandwich is a hit , Pande Sal Bun is perfect

Chill atmosphere! Dessert and sandwiches ordered were yummy and savory. Ordered drink was a perfect balance of sweetness. Not in the picture is silvana, it's creamy, crisp and just the perfect sweetness. Mother and daughter team, very friendly people and atmosphere Will definitely come back

Me and my bf finally decided to try out Central Bean Cafe since we would always drive past it and it was amazing :) The decor was sooo cute and the music in the background really created a peaceful atmosphere. The owner was very friendly! She gave us samples and explained the pastries to us too. Everything was delicious ! One of our new favorite spots now for sure. They also sold rlly cute charms :]

I think we arrived around 10 or 10:30am. we talked to the lady behind the counter, briefly. she said that they didn't have much ready, only these 2 dishes that I did not recognize but also could not catch the names of. my husband who is filipino also wasn't so sure as to what she'd said. hmm. nothing was ready. all the food that was out was cold and needed to be heated up. well, that means it was pre-made and wasn't fresh. the store, when you walk in, there are snacks galore. there are plenty of tables to sit and enjoy your food but without food we had no reason to sit and enjoy anything. this was a complete bummer of a visit, one that we'd made quite a long drive for. it was a huge disappointment. I was so glad they made it out again as I had a great experience the last time. I waited about 30 minutes between standing in line to picking up my order. It was reasonable given the large crowd at this event. Their menu was slightly different than what I remembered on my first visit but nonetheless, I ended up ordering the pork adobe plate and lumpias. Now, they offered 2 versions of the pork adobe this time around - the plate and bowl with the plate being a dollar more. When I ordered the pork adobe plate last time, it came in a standard to-go box with the pork, rice, and 2 or 3 lumpias. What I received this time was their bowl and no additional lumpias beyond what I ordered separately (9 mini lumpias). I was confused when I received my order but I wasn't going to make a big deal over a dollar difference. The staff here was great and helped me pack my lumpia order into a box when I told them that I was going to take everything home to eat instead of at the event. Many of their items were served in small paper trays so this was very much appreciated for them to be able to help me bring everything home easier. The pork adobe was exactly as I remembered last time; absolutely delicious and tender. Sadly, I had a big bay leaf in my order and accidently started to eat it as I didn't see it. That was a not so nice surprise. The lumpias were really miniature but packed a lot of great flavor. If I can buy them on a regular basis, I would happily do so. I hope I can run into them again soon!

Calamansi juice is a rare sight so I was excited to try it. Instead, I got a 8.4 oz grocery can where calamansi isn't even the main ingredient. Even worse, it was at room temperature when the weather was hot. The BBQ skewer was cold and thus not very enjoyable. At least the lumpia was warm and crispy. I was supposed to get 9 but I really got 8.5 since one of the lumpias was half the size of the others. Overall, I had better value for food at other food trucks.

I had family visiting and they were craving halo halo on their last night here, so I found Backstreet Asia and drove them out here. We ordered the calamari first while waiting for dessert, but it was too salty. I had also ordered myself an ube ice cream while the other 3 got one halo halo for themselves -- all of which took a long time to come out, and we had to remind the servers twice about my ice cream. There weren't many other customers when we were there either. The ube ice cream ended up being 1 very small, stingy scoop, and my family was super disappointed when the halo halo arrived. It wasn't sweet at all and lacked many typical halo halo ingredients (the menu hadn't listed the ingredients so we assumed it would be there). When we asked for something to sweeten it like condensed milk, they said they didn't have it and only had syrup, which I found strange. We also had an uncomfortable interaction with the server too. In the end we brought the halo halo back home and added some of our own leche flan, buko pandan, and evaporated milk. It was disappointing we had to pay what we did for the taste we got. Maybe their other dishes are good, and I do think it's neat that they have a little setup for their occasional karaoke nights, but our experience with our orders and service were 2 stars
