What really stood out this visit, though, was the service. An employee mentioned that they had accidentally made an extra Churro Coffee and asked if I wanted it. Of course I said yes! They were incredibly sweet, friendly, and genuinely kind throughout my visit, and they even surprised me with a complimentary Tres Leches Cafe sticker. It was such a thoughtful little touch, and I made sure to thank them for it. Then came the bittersweet part. They let me know that this Sunday would be their last day at this location, and I was honestly so bummed to hear that. I had literally just discovered them, and this was already my third visit! It's always a little disappointing when you find a place you really enjoy and then realize you won't have as much time to keep coming back. Still, I'm really glad I got the chance to experience Tres Leches Cafe while I could. I've been to the South Phoenix location a few times but it's out of my way and I don't find myself in that area too often. This is a smaller location than the original but it has a similar look and furniture, which is comforting. Hopefully the same vibes carry over. I decided to go inside but they do have a drive-thru available. I appreciated being greeted by a clear "No ICE" sign on the entrance door, rock on. Tres Leches is big on community and supporting everyone, especially those who are more vulnerable and being persecuted. There were similar additional signage inside as well. The barista at the register was friendly and welcoming. I ordered the cafe horchata in an OG size (24 oz), and initially wanted it hot but since their horchata is made cold, I got it with light ice instead. My drink was ready within a few minutes and I was on my way. When I sipped my drink, I only tasted the coffee on top so I used my own straw to mix it with the horchata at the bottom. It was delicious and hit the spot on a warm day. I love the combination of the sweet rice drink and the bitter coffee. I love 3LC and respect them for their community work, especially against ICE and supporting Palestine. Will def be back! Wishing them all the success.

He asked me how my day was going, and when I asked for recommendations on seasonal menu items, he suggested the rustic maple latte, so that is what I ended up ordering. The rustic maple latte was rich and full of flavor. Some of the best coffee I have ever had. I also like that the coffee shop is located within an area where you can see various plants surrounding the area where you sit down and enjoy your coffee. The employees of that business were also friendly and helpful. I will gladly come back the next time I am in the area.
