Oh my fishes the Lechon Kawaii was spectacular. The accompanying sauce is liver based and so good. The pork belly is fried and perfectly seasoned and salty. Just to die for! I couldn't wait to taste more so I also ordered Pancit Bihon and a large egg drop soup trusting I'd want some to take home for later! Even better than the good was chatting with the lovely couple that own this establishment. Their love story was so fun to hear! I highly recommend dropping in and exploring the flavors! I'm told the spice levels can get quite high (though I'm a sissy so kept everything mild). They apparently just some great events, comedy nights, and music weekly so definitely check them out. Just as I was about to leave they busted out karaoke so I stayed and ordered more flavors! The garlic rice was tasty with an enjoyable crunch. The cauliflower bites were great, lightly friend with a creamy sauce that had a bit of a kick. Finally the quail egg I tried was a bit of creamy deliciousness like a tiny devils egg inside a baby egg. Highly recommend! My only suggestion would be to upkeep the bathrooms

I had their wings and french fries and they were really good. I'm excited to go back and try their Filipino food. Hidden gem in Avondale

wanted to try this place for so long after reading all the positive reviews from Yelp. Sadly, all the positive reviews turned out to be the opposite. First off, the host/server, whoever that person is, she needs to be out of that place because she's going to be the main reason why people won't come back. She has no customer service. didn't even smile at once, didn't know what she's doing, and rude. Second, the bathroom is not only dirty, but it's nasty! 3rd. food is okay, I have nothing against it, just the portion is too small for the price. and maybe you guys need to specify in the menu that all the tocilog are only served in the morning. as a first-time customer, I assumed that all the common breakfast are served all day as they listed next to your main entrees. Lastly, I love the coziness and the vibe, but it's too hot inside. considering you came outside where it's 100ish degree already.

Really great genuine Filipino food and drink. Good music and karaoke too. Friendly service.

Loved the food, it was delicious. My 84 year old mother loved her peanut sauce dish. It was relaxing and very enjoyable.

The food was delicious and my 84 year old mom enjoyed her peanut sauce dish. Service was a little slow but the service was great otherwise.

What a treat to dine at Backstreet Asia. When visiting Phoenix, I always try to find the best Asian restaurants, and I'm surprised it took me this long. First, they have events and karaoke on the weekends. I so happened to come during the week. Boo... I met Lin, the chef/ owner, and she was very nice and personable. We chatted it up a bit. The restaurant is a pretty good size to host an event or dinner with a big group. Food: Crown Royal with the specialty Ice Pork Shanghai Lumpia Lechon Kawali / Fried Pork Belly Kare Kare The lumpia was ok, and I asked for vinegar instead of the sweet sauce. I like the acidic taste. The Kare Kare was a hit and I didn't even use the bogoong. The vegetables were cooked perfectly and the lechon was tender and tasty. I think it's the perfect serving size for one. Overall, I'd return again. There are a lot of items on the menu I want to try.

So goood that yu will keep asking for more me and my wife love it‼ try anything I promise yu will keep coming back

I know ... I know... three stars only!? I wanted to give star this joint but it was really just okay. I was so excited to see that had pancit ... turns out it was something like pancit. A type of glass noodles with tiny strips of a veggie. Not even sure of what kind. Yeah. So, the lumpia was ok. Tiny like popcorn lumpia's lol! I actually wish that was a thing. I'd tear them up. Anyway, chicken wings were good but we can get good wings from other places. The service was pretty good. They told us there is a karaoke night and we should come check it out, but we haven't done that yet. The inside was OK. Definitely didn't look like a Asian spot. I wish success to this place because it has potential. And I'm a leave it at that.

Great Service .... Delicious Food I'm so glad we found this lil gem. Hands down the best we have had in some time. On this visit we shared Lumpia, BBQ spare ribs, pork sinigand, and garlic fried rice. Everything we ordered was fresh, flavorful and well-balanced. Chef Linchilan is an incredible chef, who uses only the freshest ingredients and seasonings. I think my favorite item was the Lumpia, it had a great savory flavor and the sweet chili sauce was the perfect pairing. My sister really enjoyed the Pork sinigang, it was tender, fall of the bone and just enough tang. everything thing we were served was spot on. You can really taste the quality of ingredients and the plating is beautiful. If you're looking fir a great dining experience, stop in. The owners and staff are friendly and welcoming, the food is delicious, and the prices are wallet friendly. Can't wait to come back and try more menu items.

Top-notch food and service, a nice family owned restaurant, this food is delicious. I live in the neighborhood and this place has to be my go to spot for any type of cuisine.

Is a small place, I was kinda sketchy about it cause the way it looks it had a little stage and a bar I didn't think the food would be good but food was good. Service was great the only server they had she was nice, friendly and so helpful. It doesn't look like it gets busy at all, I was their in the evening and wasn't busy at all. The pancit was good I didn't think it would be enough but I couldn't finish it it got me full, the shrimp it was good but I wasn't a fan of it but that's just me. The lumpia was ok didn't have much flavor the sauce that came with it was ok I guess that helped with the flavor. I will return but would try different plates

We were really looking forward to dining at this restaurant, especially after reading so many glowing reviews and choosing it as the spot to celebrate my mom's birthday. She was especially excited, having spent a lot of time researching places for this special day. While we didn't want to dampen the occasion we decided not to speak to staff, we ultimately felt it was important to share our experience. When we arrived, we were the only table in the restaurant. As we began to order, we were told that two of the dishes we wanted--meals for two out of the three of us--were unavailable. While this was disappointing, we adjusted and ordered the Lumpia, Chicken Pancit Bison, Chicken Singaporean Noodles, Chicken Fried Rice, and Spicy Bulgogi. The Lumpia arrived first and was hot and tasty, which gave us hope. However, we then waited another 45 minutes for the rest of the food--despite being the only guests in the restaurant. When it finally came, everything was cold except for the Spicy Bulgogi. The chicken in several dishes was severely overcooked and dry (as shown in the photo), and the Fried Rice tasted stale and far from fresh. Overall, this was a very disappointing experience. We spent over $80 on food that wasn't even mediocre, paired with service that was virtually non-existent. We had high hopes, but will absolutely not be returning or recommending to anyone.

Visiting Phoenix for the first time and first time eating at this restaurant. Love it and we were satisfied with the food that we ordered. Definitely did not disappoint with the taste. Supporting my fellow Filipino and connecting with my Filipino roots thru food. Gotta try it folks! I would definitely recommend this place. Food is good and authentic.

Started with the Leche de Tigre which was super fresh, flavorful, and spiced perfectly. Might be the best of the last 5 years. GET IT! Saltado was well prepared, packed with flavor, and well seasoned. Was not oversalted like some other places. Very well done! Traditional Chicha Morada is made in house, no powder. It is has a complex spice blend where you will pick up different flavors with each sip. Nice, fruity, and not oversweetened. As if that wasn't enough . . . finished with flan & alfajores. It's welcoming, delicious, and absolutely worth the stop.

This is one of the best or the best Mexican seafood meals I have ever had. As a spicy lover I was over the moon with the ceviche, torre, and tacos durados. Two wimps in our group were not into seafood or not into spicy so they had quesadilla with fries or chicken tenders with fries. If this is you, just order a kids meal like a boss! One person had the soup and loved that as well. Maybe ask for your fries unseasoned if you don't want too much flavor. The restaurant was half full (5 tables) 3 servers mostly inside of the kitchen area the whole time. Our drinks came after the food order was taken which took a while for how simple their menu is. The food took about 30 minutes to come out and was delivered by another server. Our server (blonde hair) never returned, no refills, and our dirty dishes were not picked up. Basically she came by when we were done eating. All servers seemed extra attentive to the tables with only men. A lot of socializing going on in the back. The food: -The aguachile tostada was the best dish. -The shrimp crunchy taco was okay, the sauce on top seemed more fitting for a sushi plate than a shrimp taco. Something about the flavor didn't make a lot of sense. -the breaded fish and shrimp tacos okay, they're doing way too much with the seasonings in the breading. -out of oysters at 1 pm on a Friday. Overall not too authentic compared to other seafood restaurants. Trying too hard with the flavors. Uninviting experience. If service had pep in their step I would give more grace.
