Very Good Food and Service Was immediate greeted as soon as I walked in. Very small eat-in dining area with 4-5 tables. The menu is extensive and the food is affordably priced. Decor is fun and features wide-eyed Panda Bears. The portions are plentiful and came out fast and hot. The General Tso has great flavor and the egg rolls were amazing read more

Chef Panda - General Tso Chicken - Rice - Egg Rolls - Chinese Near Me - Surprise, Arizona

This is my family's favorite Chinese spot. We always get the sesame chicken with an extra side of rice. I also love the beef skewers and the walnut shrimp. Another thing that's really nice about this place is that you can get a side of fried rice without having to order a whole entree portion. read more

We used to really enjoy Chef Panda and even recommended it to several others. It was our go-to spot in the Surprise area. We usually order directly through the restaurant website for delivery. Unfortunately, our last few orders were overly oily and salty, which led us to stop ordering for about six months. Today, I decided to give them another try and ordered the Kung Pao Shrimp lunch through Uber Eats, but once again, the order was incorrect. The receipt clearly shows shrimp, yet I received what appears to be chicken instead. At this point, I'm extremely frustrated. It's disappointing to see how much both the food quality and order accuracy have declined over the past year. Please see the photo for reference. Still giving them 3 stars read more

Chef Panda - Ordered Kung Pao Shrimp lunch plate, but received salty chicken!!! - Chinese Near Me - Surprise, Arizona

Fast delivery. Super friendly. Easy to order from the website for delivery. Our food was great. We will be ordering again. read more

Every dish we have had so far is really good. Each dish has its own distinct flavor. Food comes hot and seems fresh. I'm surprised at the low rating. Well thanks to Reddit we came here and we have been in weekly. read more

As a customer for many years (10+), we have always enjoyed the freshness and quality of the food from Chef Panda. Thank you Patrick for the years of great food and hospitality. Amanda and I are grateful for what you do. Many thanks! read more

Pretty good place to grab takeout. Not a big fan of the "tax" or extra fee. Easy to order. The place itself is pretty stark and not real inviting. We have ordered from here several times. We have ordered garlic edamame 4.5/5 (grilled flavor is nice), dumplings 3/5, Mongolian beef 2.5/5, general chicken 3.5/5, and Singapore noodles 4/5 (could be spicier). They through in donuts with our first order 5/5, super tasty. read more

Love this place! Always more than enough food and the flavor is always consistent and great!!

Mediocre. The orange chicken was "okay." The pork fried rice was incredibly bland and the fried won tons had a teeny tiny bit of filling. And we are not happy at all about the mandatory tip when you place a carry out order from their site. It should be our choice on whether or not we leave a tip. Not something forced on us. read more

My husband, our friend and I decided to try this place. We were only people in the place, and it was around 12:30. Ordered beef w/broccoli, the beef was tough and hard to chew. Vegetables were not fully cooked. Husband ordered chicken chow mien. It was awful. Asked for ice for our water and he said ice machine was broken so we had warm water. Took our leftovers home and ended up throwing them all away. Will never go back there again. What a waste of time and money. read more

We don't get Chinese often but when we do, Chef Panda never disappoints! Good food, crazy fast delivery, and great people!

Top: Steamed dumplings: skin was nice and thin, plump and good filling! Left: Mu Shu Chicken: so much chicken!!! Reminded me of my childhood with warm tortilla wraps and hoisin sauce! It was delicious!! Right: Kung Pao Tofu: Great portion, light heat and nice contrast with crunchy peanuts. Mongolian Beef was so tender! read more

First and last time. Ordered Pork Fried Rice, I asked for it to come with green onions, mind you that 90% of fried rice comes with green onions. I was charged $2.00 for it. Now if they would have told me that it's extra I would have said no. Then to top it off the guy was all sneaky when I walked in he didn't show me how much the rice was just told me to tap my card. F this place when I asked him about the up charge he just smirked at me. The rice well is was average at best. Do yourself a favor and go to Chen Wok in Surprise read more

This place is still my absolutely favorite Chinese food I've gotten here in AZ. I did notice a price increase but it's completely reasonable & understandable. Service is still extremely efficient and friendly. The inside of the store is a typical small restaurant space. What I find delightful are all the googly eyes on the animal pictures hanging up. Spare ribs are always absolutely delicious & a favorite. My other favorites are the beef skewers and salt/pepper calamari. OMGosh, so delicious. The salt/pepper calamari is buttery & I cannot explain why but it's absolutely amazing & I'm obsessed with this dish. It comes with sliced jalapeños on top for some extra spice & it's very happy. The sesame beef is also really good. I will continue to recommend this place if you're on the west side. So good. You will not be disappointed. read more

You can't ask for anything better. Best place on the west side for sure definitely deserves honorable mention for top 5 in Phoenix. Food is so fresh and mouth watering. Worth every penny. read more

Good Chinese. The only one problem they have it's a little too far to go get on routine bases

I ordered food from Chef Panda as a pick up order. One arrived I found several packages for people who also ordered. When I gave the cashier my name, they could not find any record of my purchase. After spending several minutes, she determined that somehow my order was marked for a delivery service. We have used chef pan when they had their own delivery service and we found out the food was very good. unfortunately, it has been several years since we've eaten there, and since that time the food became extremely salty. our orders were full of liquid, which I assumed was the sauce that they cut the food in. Each of the orders came with a gigantic portion of white rice. at this point, I am uncertain if I could recommend them as a place to pick up food. They seemed unorganized, and the excess amount of salt in the products was disconcerting. read more

Pretty good for locals. Not quite east coast it's yummy, they are very nice & always throw in a little surprise.

This is my family's favorite Chinese spot in the valley. The food is so delicious that I found myself eating even though I was full. The portions were great for the price and the service was AMAZING all across the board. If you want food period I would recommend Chef Panda 10 times out of 10. Great job to the staff for such a welcoming and catering environment. read more

Love this place food is great the lunch special are a great deal. I finally found my Chinese spot in Surprise!!!!

The reason for the three stars is because although we enjoy their food, the Lunch Specials are a ripoff. I ordered the Lobster Sauce Shrimp at $9.25 and not only did we did not get lobster sauce shrimp but instead got vegetable shrimp, there were only 4 SMALL shrimp in the dish. 4! Really? They couldn't manage 6? Very disappointed. STAY AWAY FROM THEIR LUNCH SPECIALS. read more

I used to order from them all the time, primarily because they were very nice and very close. I am done. First of all, the fried rice is horrifying. It's like they just sprinkled some sort of powder and stirred it around. Secondly, anytime I have offered to pay extra for, let's say broccoli on the beef and broccoli and pay extra I don't get any extra. But today was the straw that broke the camels back. I ordered from the lunch menu for a total of approximately $22.40. Plus tax and a two dollar delivery charge. Fair enough. I am told when the delivery person arrives that they have accidentally charged something like $38. But don't worry, he says, they will fix it. I call the restaurant. The guy who answers does not know what the tax amount is in Arizona so I said well lets guesstimate that it's 8%. So when I add everything up it comes to something like $28.92. He still comes up with slightly more but I say that's OK. So then I say all you have to do is void the transaction to which he replies it doesn't work that way, it will take 2 to 3 days for it to remove itself from your account. I call Amex. What he said was not true. A void will disappear at midnight on the day in which the charge was made. I also find out there are actually TWO charges on my account, one for something like $38 and another for over $50. This is ridiculous. I am charged approximately $88 as a hold on my account for $24 worth of Chinese takeout? Are you kidding me?? So tomorrow morning I will call Amex and find out if these have been reversed. But I can tell you this: I will never go there again. Be warned. read more

I am new to the area and was looking for some good Chinese food. I came here not just because of the review but because of all the delicious looking pictures of the food. I ordered 2 Generals Tso Chicken with Fried Rice & salt & pepper calamari. The parking lot was unusually very full so I had to park very far. I was immediately greeted as I entered, the cashier was very nice & friendly. The place looked very well kept, it was clean but was small. However, it appeared that most orders were to go orders, it was dinner rush & everyone in there was waiting for their order. I really loved how the entrees had pictures so that you could also visualize what you were ordering. The generals tso chicken was good but the salt & pepper calamari was so good, just wished the jalapeños were spicier. I couldn't give the full 5 stars because I was a little disappointed when I got home just to find out I got white rice instead of fried rice even though I paid extra for fried rice. I wasn't going to risk my food getting cold to go all the way back for $2. read more

Beyond amazing customer service And cuisine! This our go to for local Chinese food. We ordered delivery for the first time - it was not only fast but the gentleman that delivered our food was so kind! He went out of his way to bring us more items due to a small miscommunication. Very impressed all around! Thank you Chef Panda! read more

Came here for the 1st time yesterday and it was amazing! The service was fantastic, the guy taking our order was very friendly and gave us recommendations. The food was cooked fresh and only took about 10 minutes. The portion for the kids meals are very generous too. I would love to come back next time I'm craving Chinese food! read more

Trying it out for dinner Update.: Mongolian beef is sweet and has a weird after taste. Beef Chow Mein has a strange after taste...almost fishy. Orange Chicken is basic. I even had to mix the fried chicken and Sauce Fried Wontons (10 Count) Minced seasoned pork, centered inside of a crunchy wonton shell. Served with a side of sweet and sour. Thus is just fried wonton shell. No meat. Springs rolls have them damn noodles in it! The white rice is the best item!! read more

Fine dining? No. Solid Chinese? Yes. I walked into this place having not known it was even there. My go-to Chinese place was closed so having tried mediocre places in the area, decided to try this. I walked in, and the young man at the counter greeted me warmly. This is a walk up, order and then eat in or take out place. They also deliver. I asked him what was good. He asked me what I liked...type of protein, spicy, veggies/no veggies. I said any protein, spicy, any veggies. He pointed out some of his favorites, the number one of which was Salt and Pepper Shrimp. So I ordered it. I also ordered the pot stickers, steamed, and a side of Chui Chili Sauce. To spice them up. The food came out quickly. The pot stickers tasted home made, as did the Chui Chili sauce. Fair warning: it was spicier than the one I buy at Chinese grocers -Lee Kum Kee. The shrimp were cooked perfectly, sweet, crisp and large. It was a good sized order with chopped onions and peppers sauteed with the shrimp. They were spicy (not just from the black pepper), and since the shrimp don't come with a sauce, I used my left over pot sticker sauce and Chui Chili Sauce on top with the steamed rice. For no extra cost, you can get fried rice or noodles instead. The guy from the front kept checking in with me to see if I needed anything else. I appreciated his attentiveness. The atmosphere at Panda is hole in the wall Chinese with a dose of homemade thrown inn. Some of the tiny seating area is used to store supplies for the restaurant. Because I did not order off the lunch combo menu, I had enough leftovers for dinner. Sweet! read more

Gotta love a chinese food place that doesn't make a face when you order a meal minus veggies...sorry, but I just hate veggies!!! (I know that they give it flavor but sometimes I don't want to eat around them!) Super friendly service! I use to go in and place my orders and they were super quick getting it ready and then with the pandemic they started taking phone orders only and that was just as easy! Food was ready when I would pick up. This is definitely my go-to Chinese restaurant in Surprise. read more

I ordered the chicken and mushrooms. The "chicken" didn't taste right at all but I kept eating more because I was very hungry. I bit down on something hard and fished it out of my mouth..... much to my astonishment I pulled a cat toe out of my mouth...complete with a claw!!!!!! I looked at it in disbelief, and I squeezed the toe and it popped!!!!!!!!! I still have PTSD from this, but for a couple weeks I found it hard to eat at all!!!!!!!! If I could give them negative stars I would!!!!!! All I can say is don't order "chicken"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! read more

The service was amazing! My husband and I came and they really wanted to make sure we were happy. The dining area is small as it is mainly a takeout place, but it was clean and styled nicely. The food was good. It was a large serving and I had leftovers. I recommend Chef Panda! read more

Hello, I just wanted to take some time to say that I've never been happier to eat anywhere in Surprise than at Chef Panda. The food is always amazing but I really wanted to highlight how amazing the service is and how kind the owners are. I recently ordered on Lunar New Years and they gave me the traditional envelope with my food and today they graciously gave me some donuts on the house. This is a few of the incredibly kind experiences I've had here. If you're looking to eat local please, please, please consider them. Seriously amazing. read more

My go to spot for excellent western Chinese food. Have been a loyal customer for more than 9 years. We usually get delivery and they are prompt and most courteous. You will never go away hungry we usually have a second meal out of leftovers. ( learning to reheat Chinese will take awhile read more

7 Years they are open and the kitchen and rest rooms are immaculately clean. Excellent menu to choose from. The best take out menu in all the Chinese restaurants in Arizona. The wife can surly cook . Everything is just perfect flavoring. Worth the trip from a where in Arizona. Old school Chinese cooking doesn't get any better than this place. One you try it once you will never need to look for excellent food at any other Chinese takeout. Staff is super helpful and friendly. Just ask question's. It just doesn't get any better than this restaurant. Unheard of a super clean kitchen 7 yrs old! WOW. If you leave any comment other than the best then you have lost your mind. We came from buckeye to surprise and we don't ever have to look anywhere else. All the dishes no one else cooks they cook here. The husband is a very friendly person as is the younger woman at the counter. My only regret is not finding this diamond in the rough 7 years ago. Wish they had it in buckeye but the drive is not bad and the food is just fantastic and flavor is off the chart. I love the fact I no longer need to look for a great Chinese take out and I do mean great. Old school cooking is heavenly. As good as it gets read more
