Hmm. My first bite of my $6.99 mahi mahi street taco was a revelation. My taste buds were overwhelmed with its deliciousness. The spice, toppings -- the surprisingly tender fish in the middle of the desert. But then, salt. I squeezed lime. I drizzled on salsa. Hmm. Just couldn't get back there. So I came for the ceviche because it's their "known for" the classic is my favorite not spicy but of the three. I'd like more bite in the other two. Cost is fair as most people seem to complain about the price. The service is phenomenal I heard the tacos are the not talked about must have so I will return maybe tomorrow for dinner. The staff personalized the experience giving me a sample of all three and I still chose to buy all three to share with people I met at the spring training. The ambiance is small and clean. Small place maybe 8 tables -came during lunch hour - maybe four tables were taken, a couple people waiting for carry out orders - didn't know what half the items on the menu were and didn't want to ask with people behind me. So went with Mahi tacos - about $6 each - soft corn tortilla - Mahi was crispy batter and fresh, a large piece, cabbage, a tasty slice sauce, came with a lime and small container of taco sauce. We frequent this place a lot mainly for the shrimp tacos and mango habanero ceviche which has always been amazing except for one time it was super sour like from bad limes. No biggie because what I appreciate the most is how the shrimp is always cooked all the way and tastes fresh and clean . Recently we decided to try the burrito gobernador. It was my first time trying a shrimp burrito and let me tell you it was AMAZING!!! They wrap the flour tortilla in a layer of crispy cheese. I ordered at the counter and selected the shrimp tacos with everything (including the grilled yellow pepper). They only serve seafood, but there seems to be a wide variety of choices. Ponys Miches also serves a variety of Mexican beverages for the full experience. My favorite is the Mexican Coke which is made with sugar (not corn syrup) and has a hint of a cinnamon taste. Had such a fantastic experience from the moment I walked in. The employees were super nice and helpful. She was giving us her options on what was good etc. The food was definitely worth the money. The cashier was pleasant and informed us of some specials. My husband got one. I don't remember the name. But it was a cheesy shrimp filled tortilla with more cheese on top. I ordered the fish taco trio. She said we could do fish or shrimp and mix and match. So I decided to do 2 fish and 1 shrimp. All 3 tacos were amazing and huge! My husband's dish was very rich, heavy and savory and wasn't something you could eat alot of. It almost reminded me of a shrimp enchilada without enchilada sauce on top. Hubs ordered a Mexican Coke and I got a Topo Chico. I asked if they had the lime one and the cashier said she could give me fresh lime. I liked how she thought outside the box. First time looking for a quick ceviche fix. I purchased the Original Large. Service: The young lady who was taking my order was very nice greeted with a smile, she answered my questions in regard to flavor heat etc... I ordered 1 drink, 1 large shrimp ceviche. Total was $41 and some change. A little steep but I was able to get about 6 tostadas out of the container. The ceviche in my opinion had too much pepper. But overall was good. The best I ever had no you gotta go to Cali for the best. But it was okay. It does come with 10 tostada's but they were so hard! Oh my gosh it was like eating captain crunch cereal with no milk. Beware for your gums. Back to service. I stood and watched my food sit for 8 mins. (I clocked it) now all I ordered was the two items mind you the ceviche is already made it's not like they're making it right then and there. The poor girl in the front was not only managing the crew, the register and bagging items there was 4 of them in the front and she was getting them in and out. While the other girls were counting tostadas and the guy was walking around like "what do I do where do I go"? Word to management re-train because the One person shouldn't be bouncing around like a ping pong. I don't understand why let my food sit when you already put it in a container. I stopped by here on a Saturday earlier this month for lunch with my wife, in laws and twins. We were playing at the rec center across the street and were hungry. So I fired up Yelp and saw Pony's Miches right across the street and we headed on over. This restaurant is located in a strip mall right off of Estrella Parkway. The inside is a bit small with seating for 24 and then they had 4 more seats outside as well. It had a vibrant and fun decor inside though with different shades of blues and then a full wall of a tropical beach and a shadow of a palm tree on the other side. It's also worth noting that the guy working the counter was super friendly and enthusiastic. For lunch on this day my wife and I decided to split their Spicy Baja Shrimp fries and then we each got 1 of both their mahi and shrimp tacos. Then my twins were able to order the quesadilla and fries kids meal and the guy up front assured my twins that his fries were better than McDonald's. Our meals here came out relatively quickly and everyone in the family enjoyed them. The mahi tacos and shrimp tacos were similar with the only difference being the proteins. They were on smaller tortillas and topped with lettuce, pico de gallo and a sauce: overall I enjoyed both as the fish had a nice crispy breading on it while the shrimp had a good sweetness to it. Our fries were good as well as there were a ton of them and they didn't skimp on either the shrimp or toppings. As with the tacos, the shrimp added a nice subtle sweetness to the dish and I really enjoyed eating them with the slightly spicy sauce. Finally our whole family enjoyed the shoestring fries which were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. The bottom line for me is that I would head back here again in the future. Came here for lunch and it was our first time. The restaurant was very clean. We were greeted and helped by the owner, he was very helpful with the menu and very friendly. Someone on the Goodyear page suggested this place for good ceviche so I tried it out and wow!! Me and my bf shared verde ceviche and a fish taco and everything was so flavorful, fresh and delicious. They let us try the ceviches before buying one, they were all really good. My only complaint was the blue coconut drink. I loved the flavor, but it was sooooo sweet. It was so sweet to the point where it wasn't enjoyable, it was like drinking pure liquid sugar syrup. Which is a bummer, because coconut is my favorite flavor.
