    Surf & Turf Burrito

Surf and turf comes with way less meat then it shows in the pic or else I'd give this place a 5 star. All the food was real good. Chorizo and egg was spot on and my daughter said the breakfast burrito was real good as well. Wish they had a salsa bar.

Went with my family of 7 over the weekend, and the service was disappointing from the start. The waitress didn't seem happy with our group size, and other tables were helped before us. The menu was confusing, there was no drink menu, and our aguas frescas were warm. My agua de piña tasted like soap, and the agua de Jamaica was bitter with no sugar. Chips and salsa were good, but the guac was oddly served right on top of the chips. The food looked great and mostly tasted good, though the carne asada was dry and the burrito had way too much rice. Birria was tasty but too cinnamon-heavy for me. Service was slow despite the place being tiny. Worst part: several of us got stomach aches after, and a few ended up with food poisoning. Disappointed after all the social media hype--probably won't dine in again, maybe takeout if we give it another try.

I always try to find a place to observe the weekly Tuesday tradition while on this side of town. The quessabirria taco was pretty damn flavorful and real good!

My family and I decided to try this spot after a weekend of swimming and it did not disappoint. The place is small but the service was impeccable. Very busy, and the interior had a lot of Mexican paintings with a pleasant visual presentation I enjoyed. Our server sat us down and immediately took our order. We ordered the Birria ramen, quesabirria tacos and the carne asada tacos. The Birria ramen was the best dish we had. The soup had a ton of flavor and it had a decent amount of portion as well. The food was not over priced and I would recommend to anyone in the area. Come try it!

So glad I decided to stop in and try this place, the food I ordered was soooooo good! I ordered the Birria Ramen and a queso Birria taco, so delicious and the service was great! I definitely recommend.

food was amazing, workers are super nice. I ordered the 3 tacos (2 chicken, 1 carne asada) and 1 quesabirria taco. the quesabirria was still crispy and overall just really delicious! I would love to go back and try some of their other food options. if you plan on eating in for tacos I would recommend bringing disposable gloves with you because even though they have a bathroom for you to wash your hands, eating the tacos can still get pretty messy. I think my only distaste was that for a side of guacamole they charged me $3.25, and it was overly salty. not sure if it was an off day batch or anything. I was okay with paying extra for guacamole but I wasn't expecting $3.25 haha, maybe I should've asked before ordering it. this doesn't make me less inclined to go back, but probably just wouldn't ask for guacamole again.

This is the asada, the worst one

Got the three tacos to go, a birria ( the only good one), pastor and asada was plain and also was supper burnt both of them the meat just tasted burnt, not a good experience

    Menu

Absolutely delicious. Just go. So yummy. The best taco I have ever had, very tasty. The green sauce was very good. And tortilla chips were homemade, super thin and crispy with a yummy seasoning. And they serve breakfast all day. I am planning to go back and try the breakfast burrito.

Birria tacos were SO good! Worth the hype. Everything else... slightly disappointing. We got a California burrito and it was good, but not great. The Al pastor, carne asada, and chorizo tacos were all just okay as well. Way better options near by. Overall, we felt like it was worth a trip back, but we'd order differently next time. Also a bummer that they don't serve beer

    Goodness all around!

You order at the counter and the food comes out to the table. You can tell this place is family owned. The owners, whom I assumed were there tonight, were lovely people. While we waited, the woman who took our order brought out a basket of chips with refried beans and fresco queso on top with a side of salsa. Woah! What? Epic. But wait! A few minutes later, a precious girl with the most warm inviting, and beautiful smile came out with 2 warm, homemade corn tortillas, with salsa and cheese for us. These were just complimentary extras we didn't expect at all. Soo good. The restaurant is a humble place. Cute, clean, inviting and roomy. There is an inside seating area and an outdoor section. Someone was grilling meat out front. I think, the owner. I ordered a chili relleno combo. It comes with rice, beans, tortillas, and a drink. Hubs ordered two carne asada tacos, and a carne asada sope. I didn't try anything my husband ordered. ( I was laser focused on my meal lol) But it looked really good. He said, you can tell, they make their food with love. Yes, yes, yes, you can. My dish, was the best chili relleno I have had the entire 5 yrs I have been living in AZ. And the beans were phenomenal. Honestly, I prefer eating at places like this. We came for an impromptu date night. I can say it was one of the best meals and date nights I've had in a while. Thank you. I stopped by on a Saturday night to finally check it out. As soon as I walked in, I noticed the trompo right away, which is always a good sign. I stepped up to the counter and was greeted with a warm smile from the young lady up front. After looking over the menu, I ordered two tacos de tripa and two tacos de suadero. She asked if I wanted the tripas extra crispy I said no. I also asked how they prepare the suadero since I didn't see a choricera, but she wasn't sure. When the food came out, the tripas were a letdown. The texture was off, almost like a stale chip, and they were clearly overcooked. I asked if I could swap them for something safer, so I went with asada instead, but that didn't impress either. It didn't taste very fresh. Now here's the reason you should come to Tacos Chilangos: the suadero. Even though it's not cooked the traditional way, it was absolutely delicious. Perfect meat-to-fat ratio, super flavorful, and easily the standout. The guacamole salsa was top tier. I kept going back to that one over the others. All in all definitely stop by to try the suadero as for as the other two I'd would probably give them a second try.

They weren't super busy so we got seated immediately. Our server David was very polite and attentive. He checked in frequently and helped explain some menu items for us. Shame he wasn't also on the menu because he looks like a snack. We started with the Empanadas with Chorizo, Potato, and Cheese. The appetizer portion comes with 5. These were very good, the dough tasted fresh like they were made to order. For our main entree we shared the Alebrije Parrillada for two. This gave us a good sampling of multiple meats and sides. Everything comes served in a hot molcajete. My favorite meats were the chorizo and the shrimp. My favorite bite overall was the toasted Oaxacan cheese. So good - I could've eaten an entire plate of just that. The rice and beans were decent, however the beans could have benefited from a little more salt. You can choose either flour or corn tortillas. My only qualm would be that there were some temperature inconsistencies among the various components. Some were borderline room temperature, like they had been cooked first; others were piping hot. Overall taste was great though. Will I return? Absolutely yes. If you're craving home-cooked style Mexican food that doesn't leave you feeling super heavy - this is the spot to try.
