I have tried many Mexican restaurants in the area. Some are better, some are worse. Some are consistent, and some are consistently bad. Chido MX falls somewhere in the middle. I ordered the chilaquiles. The chilaquiles themselves were excellent. The flavor was robust, the sauce was smooth, and the chips held their texture surprisingly well. Unfortunately, that's where the meal began to lose momentum. The beans were watery and the flavor just wasn't right. The rice appeared to be basmati rice with dehydrated peas and carrots mixed in. I took a few bites and ultimately left both sides untouched. My wife ordered the bacon, egg, and cheese burrito. We were surprised to learn it used mozzarella cheese rather than Oaxacan cheese. Different, but not necessarily bad. What caught us off guard was the inclusion of red bell peppers throughout the burrito, which wasn't disclosed on the menu. Again, not a deal breaker, but something worth noting. The potatoes were also a bit firm and could have benefited from a few more minutes on the griddle. The shining star of the meal was the blueberry pancakes. These are true pancakes--not diner-style flapjacks--and they were absolutely loaded with blueberry compote, whipped cream, and a cherry on top. The portion was large enough for all three of my children to share, and they disappeared quickly. Will I return? Possibly. There were some genuinely good flavors present, and everything appeared to be cooked with care. My concerns were more about flavor inconsistencies and communication than poor execution. got a pickup order from here last week via doordash, and it was everything i could've hoped for and more! i got the surf and turf burrito with some chips and salsa along with rice and beans on the side (i chose 'small' for the side sizes since the burrito was already packed to the brim; i was hungry as hell). the orange-ish salsa is VERY spicy, so proceed with caution if you aren't a spicy food lover myself; the green sauce is slightly less spicy, but still spicy nonetheless. my only downer was that there was a small piece of metal in one of my shrimp. :( i'm glad i caught it before i swallowed it! aside from this hiccup, everything about my order was top-tier! read more

Since my original 5 star review: management has changed and prices have risen significantly (I assume due to increased fuel prices). Unfortunately, the level of comfort has decreased (the volume of music/voices on their HDTVs has been too loud to carry on a normal conversation and we have had to ask the always most amiable server to lower the volume). And the fact that one has to pay their bill at the register which would normally be just a bit a annoying, but is exacerbated by having to wait in line at the register, at times an inordinate amout of time, because folks are ordering/picking up take-out. The prices are such that the service should include being able to pay at the table. Sorry to say we won't be back. read more

First time at this spot and it is a nice new spot in Goodyear. Clean and friendly service. The inside is not that big but I did see a large party seated outside in front on the patio / walkway. There is one restroom for the entire restaurant and the decor artwork on the walls is trendy and appealing. The salsa are fire so be careful if you can't do too much spice as the red salsa is habanero based while the green avocado garlic salsa is a bit less intense but also spicy. We started with some guacamole chips and Agua Frescas. We ordered Jamaica (hibiscus) and also the melon. Nice refreshing and great tasting. For our main courses the kids ordered the Nutella pancakes with sides of egg and sausage accompanied by slices of avocado. They gave generous portions for sure! I had to try the birria grilled cheese which was a hit and came with a side of seasoned fries. I also ordered a gobernador taco which is served with a nice corn soft tortilla, then layered with a cheese and hard toasted tortilla shell. The pico and chipotle sauce in this taco gave it great contrast and flavor! Although there is only one taco, it is a large one and can easily satisfy you if you are looking for something quick and not too filling. We also tried the chilaquiles which come with rice and beans and a fried egg. The green salsa on the chilaquiles was bit salty tho. I do think that maybe the salt was a bit heavy on the dishes today. The price point mid to higher for Mexican fair of this type but not breaking the bank compared to some other places I've been to. After receiving strange looks upon entering, we asked if we could sit. Relaxed atmosphere, but the food was a let down. The melon aqua Fresca was oversugared. The beans were not edible, and the enchiladas were supposed to be cheese, but they came out with pork. The salsa verde was extra spicy. Went with my family of 7 over the weekend, and the service was disappointing from the start. The waitress didn't seem happy with our group size, and other tables were helped before us. The menu was confusing, there was no drink menu, and our aguas frescas were warm. My agua de piña tasted like soap, and the agua de Jamaica was bitter with no sugar. Chips and salsa were good, but the guac was oddly served right on top of the chips. The food looked great and mostly tasted good, though the carne asada was dry and the burrito had way too much rice. Birria was tasty but too cinnamon-heavy for me. Service was slow despite the place being tiny. Worst part: several of us got stomach aches after, and a few ended up with food poisoning. I placed an order directly through Yelp, which was processed via GrubHub. When I arrived at the restaurant to pick up my food, I was told that my order never came through and that I needed to contact GrubHub to cancel and request a refund myself. The woman at the front counter was extremely unhelpful and dismissive. She had a "not my problem" attitude and acted as if I was trying to get something for free, rather than acknowledging the fact that I had already paid for an order I never received. I made the effort to drive all the way to the restaurant for an order I genuinely believed was confirmed. If it had been canceled, I clearly wouldn't have shown up to pick it up. The lack of empathy and poor customer service made a frustrating situation even worse. Very busy, and the interior had a lot of Mexican paintings with a pleasant visual presentation I enjoyed. Our server sat us down and immediately took our order. I would love to go back and try some of their other food options. if you plan on eating in for tacos I would recommend bringing disposable gloves with you because even though they have a bathroom for you to wash your hands, eating the tacos can still get pretty messy. I think my only distaste was that for a side of guacamole they charged me $3.25, and it was overly salty. not sure if it was an off day batch or anything. I was okay with paying extra for guacamole but I wasn't expecting $3.25 haha, maybe I should've asked before ordering it. this doesn't make me less inclined to go back, but probably just wouldn't ask for guacamole again. read more

Delicious! Their birria was great and the customer service was friendly. My family and I have tried several items on the menu now, all delicious. The only thing I wouldn't recommend are their agua frescas which are the sweetest drinks I've ever had. I can eat a whole box of See's but can't finish one glass of their juices. read more

The owner takes his craft very seriously, the meat quality is up there with any Mexican food restaurant in the valley. Whether it be casual dining or even upscale dining, you will find great meat quality here to satisfy your cravings. The menu is extensive, they also have a secret menu since the owner likes to add dishes and simplify the menu. The specialty in my opinion is their Quesabirria tacos, be sure to try those. They also have Birria for grilled cheese, quesadillas, pretty much anything for you Birria lovers. There is a taco not on the menu called La Gringa, it comes with pastor but I recommend subbing that out with the Arrachera skirt steak. Best taco. The tacos are a solid 9.5, if they were made with handmade tortillas they'd be a 10/10. Their torta is one of the most flavorful, well stacked and put together. My only complaint is they're on the small side, I can't ever get enough! They also have great burritos, their surf and turf is amazing. They have revolving agua frescas, make sure to inquire which are in house the day you visit. Made fresh daily!! If you're looking for a go to place for your Mexican food cravings, look no further. I would easily drive 30 min just to come here. This place should have a line out the door daily, I can't wait until the secret is out and more people come enjoy this great restaurant in Phoenix.
