    Really great tacos!
    Rick M.

Tacos Barbon is great. Inside the Holiday Inn Express. Nice bar and restaurant. Great selections for food and drink! Spacious with good service. Drink selections are amazing. Have some TVs too. It's comfortable inside. This is the best restaurant I've been to in a Holiday Inn. Impressive.

I had high hopes stopping here. We were seated quickly. My husband ordered a frozen Margarita that came quickly. I was surprised how fast it melted. He said it was so so. I tasted it, and there was quite a bit of Margarita mix, a bit alcohol. Food, ay ya yi! Took 20 minutes to get. And there were two tables seated that were finishing their food. His Carne Asada tacos were ok. He said they were alright. My potato taco plate? Where to start? They came to the table burnt. When I asked what that was, the server said the cheese is "charred. "...nope, that is burnt. Ewww.... She had them remade. Came back ,better looking, but VERY oily. I finished two, the last no way. The side of rice and beans, good. Hmmm...$40.00... pricey, but if all was on point, no problem. First time here, most likely not returning. A stomachache is on the way as I write. 2 stars is the best I can do. The server was nice.

My husband and I went to this location today before 5 PM as located inside of a Holiday Inn hotel and we heard their food and drinks were good. We decided to sit at the bar since the dining room section was empty. We're so glad we did because the bartender Brianna was amazing and very informative about the menu and the drinks. I ordered the taco platter which included a side of rice and beans and three different tacos of your choice. Our second entrée was the ribeye tacos, which was good but a little too heavy on the salt. Also, there were two different sauces provided at the beginning when you were seated. we were wondering if we receive complementary chips and salsa but my assumption is they don't offer that has none was given. The bartender excellent suggestions with mango margarita and it was a dollar extra to add the flavor which was delicious. Love to have that mango margarita as a pitcher to have more drinks. They also have happy hour on our week on select tacos and chip. I believe Monday through Friday from 4 to 6. This particular restaurant used to be a food truck and now they're expanded inside of a restaurant. We will love the happy hour to be for a longer time possibly till seven for those that work until five. The meals ranges anywhere between $16 & up. Definitely will be back again for the happy hour.

This is an updated review to my previous review of 4 stars. This really should be a 2.5 rating. It's a shame because the food isn't bad, though not as great as the first time. It really boils down to service and atmosphere. The service is painfully slow and there were several communication and information delivery errors from the server to us and then between servers. Kind of a mess. The last note is just my personal opinion however, the servers should have at the very least a basic understanding of the beverage and food offerings. Our server was lacking in this area greatly. Hence communication issues. So much wasted potential here as the food is good. We conceded that going forward we'll just stick to enjoying Tacos Barbon only if we see their mobile truck out at events.

The tacos were good. I also ordered the guacamole and salsa with chips , chips are so salty guac was not that great I've had better. They should really forewarn you about the price of draft beer!!!! seven dollars a piece for a Modelo especially for a draft beer that is ridiculous Plus, if you pay with credit card, they charge you 3% of your bill . Not worth going if you want to have a couple drinks with dinner

When my mother suggested a taco spot inside of a Holiday Inn I was like ummmm nope I'm glad I didn't listen Let's start with the bad Please don't waste your time ordering the beans and rice The beans are more like a soup unless you enjoy bean soup then order away The rice is dry unless you enjoy dry rice then order away Now the birria red tacos are absolutely delicious. I should know because we ordered 3 separate orders if them and we gave a collective head nod around the table. I also learned an important lesson Taco spots in hotels are not always a bad thing

Note that I reviewed this place just one year ago and gave it 5 stars. It was innovative, fresh, and had unique, flavorful offerings not seen at typical taco places. So let this review serve as a small but vocal warning to the owners here. We came and ordered tacos, the amazing ribeye chicharrones, chips and salsa, and soft drinks. The chicharrones are an appetizer and I asked for them to come before the tacos. Note that there was one person who served all roles: hostess, server, runner, busser, phone order taker. We weren't even acknowledged for nearly 10 minutes. Once seated, it took another 15 minutes to get our order in. The food then took 25 more minutes to arrive, but it was just two tacos. No chips, no appetizer. I asked the one-person-everything about our food and she informed us that she'd forgotten to put the order in for the appetizer but they are, "always out of this anyway so you couldn't have ordered it." She offered to ask the cook if they could find some, and she reported back that he had agreed to make the ribeye chicharrones for us. Yay. 20 minutes more and they finally came to the table: a pile of black, hard, cold, completely charred pieces of reportedly "ribeye" on top of some guacamole. They were atrocious and totally carbonized. We were starving so I choked them down and vowed to never order that again. To boot, our chips arrived dark brown and obviously re-fried. They were hard little pebbles of tortilla chips. And for the privilege they charged me for the chips; in a Mexican restaurant. So here's my thing: I get it. You're experiencing great success. The server told us you guys had some 11 events coming up just this weekend. Your food trucks have become Popular and you're enjoying financial success as well- good for you. But this is the first nail in the coffin for sooooo many restaurants. You figure, "we're successful, one bad meal won't mean anything." But you're wrong. Because this meal was so bad, so careless, burnt, apathetic, and awful, that I hesitate deeply to recommend you to anybody. Was this a one-off disaster? Over an hour to eat some cold tacos, charred-carbonized beef, and burnt chips? No drinks. A server who couldn't care less. A completely apathetic approach to a slew of customers who we could see waiting and wondering if anybody would help them? So all I can offer is to be careful because you're slipping. The meal I had was truly pathetic. And I paid $40 for the "pleasure." You should be ashamed of serving that food, and of having just one person running your entire front-of-house. You have people in your kitchen who don't care. And THAT is a red flag. I hope you figure out what's wrong before people- like me- stop coming.

I am always looking for good Birria tacos, and was excited to try Tacos Barbon which I had heard so much about. I have to say it was just ok, the meat was a bit salty and there just wasn't a lot of meat inside. I did have the Al pastor taco and it was delicious, it would have been perfect with some pineapple. We also got chips, salsa and guacamole, the salsa was smoky, good and different but the guacamole was really really bland. Overall not a terrible experience, having a taco place inside a hotel is a cool idea. But in my quest for delicious birria tacos, the search must go on.

Authentic, affordable and absolutely recommended. I was in town and my brother wanted to check this place out so we decided to drive over and see what the menu had to offer. This place is located Inside the Holiday Inn hotel and although it was a bit strange to walk into a hotel to eat, the food and service was well worth it. The way things are set up is customers walk up to the barista, view the menu, pay for their order and then are seated and served. The atmosphere is quite calm and seating can be arranged for a minimum of 1 person to a family of 10 or more. A large executive table with high rise chairs makes it easy for corporations or businesses to enjoy a luncheon or for those with larger parties. I personally enjoyed the set up and decor as well as the tv's located on the walls for those that enjoy a little game watching as conversation strikes up among groups. Oh and if you are wondering about what to eat, the barista is sure to offer tips on the menu and give you a list of drinks offered. I really enjoyed the refreshing flavor of my aqua de piña. Aka "pineapple spa water" for all the fancy folks. Haaaaa!!

This is goodness on a platter (the Carne Asada Fries and the Birria Nachos).

Tacos Barbon is making great Quesa-Birria Tacos!! No other taco I've had up to now, can top Tacos Barbon's Red Tacos. Do yourself a favor and stop through, and taste the Best Tacos in PHX. Service is still awesome! And the music that pumps while I'm enjoying my tacos...makes me feel like I'm at a family function.

It took me a few weeks of learning of Tacos Barbon and finally making it in. Oh boy, I am glad I did!!! It was a bit odd for me to walk into a non-assuming Holiday Inn for tacos. You walk past the lobby into the dining room and find a hostess podium with a menu in front of it along with a large menu that clearly lists all available items just to the right of the podium. The first impression from the person who took our order was pride in their work. It feels like the restaurant crew is a close knit group which is not common nowadays. We place our order, pay for our meal at the podium, take our number and head to a table. They take Apple Pay, credit/debit cards via Square($0.75 charge) and pretty sure cash is taken as well. Once our meal is delivered to the table my excitement kicks in with anticipation of what we are about to eat. The first bite of our carne asada and chicken tacos deliver a rich mesquite flavor along with a tender flavorful bite. A big smile takes over with my gratitude of what I am eating. We had chips and guacamole. The guac is house made and very good. We also had quesabirria tacos that we mixed and matched ourselves. Buy a side of consomé along with red tacos. I fully understand food is very subjective, but the tender juicy birria in the crisp red tacos dunked in the consomé is one of the best I've had. Grandma please don't write me out of the family! The consomé with meat in it is as tasty as Grandma's!!!! The dinning room is very spacious with two TV's that I noticed. I was too mesmerized with our meal to give you an exact count of TV's and what was being broadcast as we ate. I am very happy that the west side has a premium taco joint! I am so accustomed to driving to Phoenix or east side for tacos. I will be back and hope my account will inspire others to give them a chance! I am all for supporting small businesses. I hope the motivation Tacos Barbón has at the beginning of this venture keeps replicating itself for many years! I would love to have this same experience here more than once.

They don't cook the meat, right

Ask for ribeye tacos quality of the meat. It was really bad tacos was cold. Definitely I will not recommend this place.

I got a birria taco and my hubs got an al pastor quesadilla. We also got a side of rice and horchata. I stopped by on a Saturday night to finally check it out. As soon as I walked in, I noticed the trompo right away, which is always a good sign. I stepped up to the counter and was greeted with a warm smile from the young lady up front. After looking over the menu, I ordered two tacos de tripa and two tacos de suadero. She asked if I wanted the tripas extra crispy I said no. I also asked how they prepare the suadero since I didn't see a choricera, but she wasn't sure. When the food came out, the tripas were a letdown. The texture was off, almost like a stale chip, and they were clearly overcooked. I asked if I could swap them for something safer, so I went with asada instead, but that didn't impress either. It didn't taste very fresh. Now here's the reason you should come to Tacos Chilangos: the suadero. Even though it's not cooked the traditional way, it was absolutely delicious. Perfect meat-to-fat ratio, super flavorful, and easily the standout. The guacamole salsa was top tier. I kept going back to that one over the others. All in all definitely stop by to try the suadero as for as the other two I'd would probably give them a second try.

The food came out fast and overall, the favorite among my whole group was that the quesobirria tacos were the best. They were incredibly flavorful and the birria was very warm and comforting. I understand some people here on yelp had some feelings about the texture, but as a very texture-sensitive person, I was unbothered by the feel of the "meat". If you've ever had jackfruit meat before, you will be used to the texture. For the fish tacos, my partner said texture wise, it was very appealing. Pickled onions and cabbage were a good compliment to the battered cauliflower. Easy and light. My partner was very happy with his choice. Lastly, the surf and turf burrito- My friend said it was a nice texture throughout, a good mix of flavors, and he liked the size of the burrito. Thank you for the wonderful food, Tacos Veganos. I was so glad to actually be able to share food with my partner :)
