We've had a lot of great tacos in AZ, but decided to try someplace new because of the tacos de milanesa. We love them in tortas but never tried it as a taco and it was great. They give you the option of corn or flour tortillas which is cool and it has beans as well. Flour tortilla was perfect for this taco. Also tried the milanesa torta which was probably the best thing we tried. Even better than the taco. Also tried consomé with carne, and three tacos (chicharrón, asada and tripa). Tacos were just ok. Had great potential but seemed like they sat a while. Asada was a little dry but tasted great. An hour earlier might have changed everything. Chicharrón was a little salty and tripa was just ok. Consommé was also a little salty like it had sat a while. It was kinda of late (8pm), so may have to go back and give them another try earlier in the day. The trompo was already turned off and clean, so which was the first clue and why I didn't order the Al pastor. Should have figured some of the other food was prepared earlier as well. Anyway, happy to have tried it and our new go to for milanesa and will try some other options again but earlier in the day.

Steady stream of customers even for a later dinner time - good variety of menu choices - quick and tasty - I would definitely go back!

Had some delicious food here. Had a champechano machete which was spectacular. Wife had the gringa quesadilla, which she enjoyed completely. Would definitely go back and eat here again and again. Service was super great, especially with my picky children's needs. Was very authentic and enjoyable.

This taco joint was a very non descriptive place right next to Frys. Walked in and was definitely a mom & pop type of place. Ordered 3 quesadillas with consommé and holy cow, tacos were crispy, beef was tender and extremely flavorful. There's a small salsa refrigerator in the corner that you can pick your choice of 3 salsas, sliced cucumbers, onions and cilantro, key limes, and cabbage. Dipping this into the consommé only enhances the flavor profile and I find myself using a lot of napkins wiping my mouth from the delicious flavors. A definite must try place in Avondale.

Great carne asada tacos. The Al pastor were a bit spicy but not overly spicy. Nice clean taco spot with great food.

Had to try their adobada, asada and pollo tacos! Food was great! Service was fast and place was very clean and organized. Horchata was very creamy and delicious. Food hit the taste buds just right!!

Great local chain. My boyfriend said it's the best Mexican food he's had in a long time. The machete was yummy and the gentleman said we could do half n' half meats so we did birria and asada. Consommé' for dipping was great. Mixed meat quesadilla was great as well. Everything was fresh except the limes weren't cut that day. I'm a long time craft cocktail bartender and I have a weird ick when I see day/multiple day old cut limes . Shelf life is 1 day to keep from discoloration- not harmful, just not as pretty. I didn't take a photo but, we had a caramel filled churro for dessert. Their green "verde" sauce (not sure if it's actually verde but, it looked that way) was super yummy. Great service. We will come back.

Excellent quality tacos that are hearty and flavorful. A group of three of us came here for dinner, was pretty poppin but line goes fast. I got the cabeza, tripe, and lengua tacos. ($3.25 each). All the fix in such as onion, cilantro, salsa are at the front of the register. The meat quantity is very generous, I really liked the tripe! The salsas were solid, it was packed with meat the I left the second tortilla on the side. Overall one of the better tacos I've had! Would love to come back and try other meats!

The vibes here were immaculate. The order taker was so nice and helped me pick a meal that would be nice and filling. The food was KILLER and there was a sauce bar so I could get lime and green sauce for my torta. I'm definitely going to be coming back here!!

So good!! We ordered 2 burritos, 1 quesadilla, and 1 side of rice. Everything was made to order and was hot when it came out. The meats in the burritos were super flavorful and it is definitely worth it for how big they are. The burritos come with rice, beans, cilantro, and onion inside. The cheese in the quesadilla was super tasty and they do not skimp on it. We loved the green salsa, it had the perfect amount of spice. The food came out less than 10 minutes after we ordered. rate: 10/10 price: $35

This is my new favorite taco stop! I got two Birria tacos and an a Carnita taco, with a side of rice and beans, and consomé. I was delicious and more than enough for one person. Staff was friendly and restaurant was clean. Music was playing softly and the kitchen staff singing along added to the ambience. Everything was reasonably priced.

Avondale has so many good Mexican spots. I'm a junky for bean and cheese burritos.. The horchata here is also fire and if you are a fan you'll enjoy it. The asada and pastor are also good. Salsa is spicy and they always hook it up with the extra cheese

We traveled from Las Vegas to Arizona and found this spot. The staff is great and the restaurant is clean and spacious. We ordered quite a few items and nothing was disappointing. I especially liked the carne asada tacos and the hibiscus agua fresca. My husband loved the quesabirria tacos and consomé. Next time we are in Arizona, we'll make sure to make a pitstop here!

Yes, Yes, Yes! Today, my husband said let's try this place…read more I said ok! As we got closer, I realized I've been in the area several times. I have never ate at any of rhe places though. You order at the counter and the food comes out to the table. You can tell this place is family owned. The owners, whom I assumed were there tonight, were lovely people. While we waited, the woman who took our order brought out a basket of chips with refried beans and fresco queso on top with a side of salsa. Woah! What? Epic. But wait! A few minutes later, a precious girl with the most warm inviting, and beautiful smile came out with 2 warm, homemade corn tortillas, with salsa and cheese for us. These were just complimentary extras we didn't expect at all. Soo good. The restaurant is a humble place. Cute, clean, inviting and roomy. There is an inside seating area and an outdoor section. Someone was grilling meat out front. I think, the owner. I ordered a chili relleno combo. It comes with rice, beans, tortillas, and a drink. Hubs ordered two carne asada tacos, and a carne asada sope. I didn't try anything my husband ordered. ( I was laser focused on my meal lol) But it looked really good. He said, you can tell, they make their food with love. Yes, yes, yes, you can. My dish, was the best chili relleno I have had the entire 5 yrs I have been living in AZ. And the beans were phenomenal. Honestly, I prefer eating at places like this. We came for an impromptu date night. I can say it was one of the best meals and date nights I've had in a while. Thank you. Y'all are gonna see me alot. :)

The food is where Don Ponchos really shines. Everything tastes fresh, homemade, and deeply rooted in authentic flavors. The tacos al pastor are an absolute standout--perfectly seasoned, juicy, and packed with bold flavor in every bite. You can really taste the balance of spices and the care that goes into preparing them. Another must-try is the tostada de ceviche. It's refreshing, flavorful, and incredibly satisfying, with just the right amount of citrus and freshness that makes it perfect, especially on a warm Arizona day.
