My sister and I decided to try out a different nail salon closer to home because our salon was fully booked and boy was that a mistake! I've been doing the dip powder nails for over a year now and I love it. Well not at this place, I literally had to go back the day after because 2(!!) nails already cracked. The day after that more nails cracked. So I went back twice and guess what a day and a half later other nails are breaking, I have zero patience to go back a third time. Maybe it's because they work with gel topcoat. I have never had this before at other places, and it's not like I have a very hands on job where you break all your nails, hence why I also do dip because they're supposed to last longer and be stronger. Especially disappointed because this place is more expensive than any other and you don't get the same service that any other salon gives you. Also, this place seemed very rushed I've never seen anyone filing nails this aggressively fast. I was a little disturbed by seeing the girl doing my sisters nails that way. Multiple times I have scheduled appointments with lily or sunny and they have double booked or I've had to wait up to an hour after my appointment to be seen! They have the audacity to than try and make like it wasn't their fault or their problem. They have also closed due to snow and don't even call to let you know that they are closing and they won't be able to see you. This is a very new nail salon in the Northfield area and I'm loving it. The owners and technicians are really nice and they do a pretty good job doing manis and pedis. I've been twice - the first time for a mani/pedi and today for a mani. I'm pretty picky where I go and have been going from one salon to another and rarely go more than once. Again I've been here twice already in the last two months so that says a lot. It's very clean and they use new tools for every client and their equipment is cleaned thoroughly. I loved coming here when sonny and lily were working here they recently left and I've came back the prices are normally 25 from sonny from a full set I was a frequent costumer I went and I got a new lady who charged me 40 dollars for a rebase with no shellac not only that but when we asked for a refund the new manager told us he would refund us 40 and when I went to get my refund the manager was not there and the lady only refunded 15 dollars I'm officially done with this place sonny and lily were amazing but without them this place is truly suffering the lady who did my nails was extremely aggressive and kept cutting me I do not recommend coming here unless you wanna get over charged an read more

I do not write reviews, but I feel like I have given this nail salon enough tries to warrant an accurate one. I was thrilled when they opened as Northfield is limited to a couple of places to get manis. They are clean and have a nice ambiance. The owner is attentive and pleasant. Some of the other ladies are not pleasant at all, have an attitude, will not attempt to have a conversation (even though they do speak English). They seemed rushed! Annoyed! It is uncomfortable and not enjoyable. Last time the lady who did my daughter's gel mani refused to put a second coat of color on, despite my daughter asking. It smeared during the process and my daughter would not go back to get it redone. I have had to return on 2 separate occasions to have a gel mani redone on a nail a day after! This place has ruined my nails. I've waited an entire month to write this review because I was hoping they weren't "that" destroyed. After a month, my nail beds still hurt and are scarred from the aggressive filing of the top of my nail to remove gel polish. They are so thin and scratched that they won't even grow out. All they do is break and split down the middle. AND did I mention they still hurt! You can literally see the pink under my nail where they were filed so much. It's going to take me months to grow them out. I can't even stand to have them done. Yes, I should have stopped it while it was happening, but honestly, I just didn't know what to do. What a waste of 90.00 dollars! Had a manicure and pedicure on 4/30/2018, 4 days later my dipping powder is half peeled off two nails! I have been doing this for six months and NEVER had it peel . First off got the pedi first and my tech was on the phone ALL but about ten minutes! Just awful! I will not ever go back and I will not recommend this place to anyone! My sister in law always gets her nails done here beautifully so just recently I decided to try it out ! I've been here twice now (both time made an appt ) and both experiences have been very nice and relaxing. Usually get a regular pedi which is $28 and a acrylic gel mani that's $45. I think those prices are reasonable especially because my nails don't chip and stay intact until they grow too much and I want to change them. Note, it is also $45 to just get a rebase, shape, and color on a mani. Overall great experience with both the men and women that work here. Very nice and listen to what you want done without getting frustrated. Also change anything you do not like. I do not know why this place has pretty bad reviews, I'm glad I did not check because I wouldn't have been inclined to check it out. Tried once while traveling to Denver. I requested the deluxe massage which is supposed to include a ten minute massage. I got no massage at all. The older man who did my hands was very unpleasant and did just an ok job. I told them at checkout I didn't get the massage and I didn't even get a "sorry" just told me my total; which was over priced and I''m from California where everything cost more. I didn't want new color applied since I wanted to give my nails a break. The first problem was the extreme chemical smell in there. They clearly need better ventilation. The second problem was the nail tech was very rough when trimming my nails and cuticles. Then, they charged the full price of $28 despite the fact that there was no new color applied. We were barely greeted and even though it was requested to write down services the technician did not review it and stated he was unaware of what I wanted. In this time they seated and began servicing 2 other women. My mother and I are black. The other patrons were white. I have been to this spa several times because it is at a convenient location near where I work. Honestly, Ten and Henry are amazing at doing nails! But the Asian Manager lady is terrible! She is very rough on the nails. She does not understand customer service. I always feel like she talks about me in her language when I ask for something. This place is know for random prices for the same services. The last two times I got acrylic nails shellac, they charged me $30...today they charged me $40 when I ask the manager why, she said this is what we charge even though I had paid $30 twice in the past!!! Trust me. You do not want to go here. I don't typically ever leave reviews, but this was today's experience was terrible! They are not honest people! Also the shellac manicure peels in a few days. This salon is beautiful inside, occasionally they offer water/a snack. They have some what of a friendly staff ( they talked sh*t about my moms feet in their native language once before ; kinda obvious when they are laughing and pointing). Here is where the disappointment: I scheduled an appointment for 1:30 (full set/color change on my toes) didn't get in a chair until 1:50. After coming a few times before, giving multiple technicians attempts at a decent full set to regain my trust in the salon because it was so close to home - I settled with Tony. I loved his precision at first, he filed his heart away to get my desired shape. I didn't mind the expensive subtotals at first because I USED to think the work was worth the $$$, today changed my complete perspective. (FYI NO prices are posted anywhere in the salon - you have to ask the technicians for clarity). I had to paint my nieces big toe after one of their technician messed it up , they didnt have enough staff / time on their hands to get us out of the salon and began their next client to correct THEIR mistake. So I took on the roll to paint my nieces toe get us out of the salon as I was irritated and ready to go. ***Beware : they take on way more than they can chew when it comes to accepting appointments/walk-ins. *** I have posted a few of my pictures on here hopefully google has approved them by now. Tony filed my real nails so much on the sides it is now completely bare and my nails under neath is a shape of a coffin literally, if I wanted my real nails to be in a coffin shape I wouldn't have gotten acrylic!! He filed my real nail completely non-existent because he did NOT place the tip / acrylic correctly and noticed the acrylic was not placed correctly, the paint job is 3/5 & he cut me multiple times by the drill to correct the small mistakes. Don't get me started on how aggressive he is with manually filing.. I tried looking past it multiple times but something should change ASAP. To quickly correct his mistakes and free up his chair, he continued to file instead of starting the nail over completely. This is not the first time I had one of their technicians fuc*ed up my nails / make them thick/crooked. This is the last time I will return !! Please teach your technicians taking short cuts out is not the way you stabilize / keep a consistent clientele , don't waste your time here - hopefully soon they can teach their technicians integrity. I usually love coming here but that last times were awful. I got a regularly gel manicure and the color was so uneven and it peeled off within 2 days. I just recently went back and got a full set. I asked for an ombré which I had recently got there and really loved. The lady insisted that I use the dipping powder and after I had said no 3 times and explained how the other gentleman did it, she still used the dipping powder. After THEEE hours my nails look awful and not at all how I wanted them because she took a shortcut with one had and submerged half my nail into the white power. She also used the drill way to much near my cuticles and cut me at least 3 times in each hand. The sizes are different and the length look like a toddler cut them. Voiced my opinion on not liking them and she still made me pay. After ranting to my S.O. I walked back in and said something only for them not say that can redo them and gave me to the same lady. Knowing I would be in that chair for another 3 hours I said just paint over them. Here I am the next day and the paint is peeling.
