They welcomed me and my daughter and two very nice ladies (Catherine and I-don't-remember) were sooo nice! They both did a good pedi & had really pretty designs :) The Shellac mani was great! Love how the uv lamps are in the table. Catherine is really creative & talented with her designs! It saddens me that I have to even leave such a negative review, but this salon has truly changed. We used to go to Davids until we began going to Stevens. We had gone to Stevens for years, until recently. My sister went in to get her nails done when they claimed that she didn't pay the last time she went to the salon with her family. How would it even be possible for a family of four to leave without paying?!?! Nobody would allow someone to leave their business with full service without payment. They were blaming my sister for something she didn't do. Their only consensus was because my sister has two kids. There's more than one mother in Modesto with two kids and a husband. If you want to go to a salon that will talk demeaning and rude to you while you get your nails done claiming that you never pay the next time you visit Stevens is your place. read more

My daughter and I went to get our nails done like always and the lady that did her nails she did not ask what she what she wanted she always gets coffin well the lady decidded to do square. Horrible experience I went in today my 1st time cause it had 4 stars so I thought it was going to be good Wrong!!! and I rarely get my nails done but when I do I would like to get what I paid for I got an acrylic and a pedi I didn't want to say anything about the mistakes cause of how long I was there already it took forever to get my acrylic done as he was doing my pedi I was battling should I say something cause of my time I had to be somewhere at a certain time I did and he huffed about it but he attempted to fix it, but really didn't do much at all!!! Just put some cuticle oil and I wanted him to redo my pedi but didn't even say anything cause my nails look horrible and my pedi does to and I didn't have the time and when I did ask for him to fix the problems with my acrylic nails he didn't even do that right so that's another reason on top of time I didn't say anything Really disappointed cause I wasted my money and we all know getting nails done ain't cheap and wasted my time read more

The worst nail place ever. I had been making myself go because I liked my nail lady, but the management is so poor. They accuse you of not having specified which mail lady you asked for. They don't understand English, making it very hard to communicate over the phone for an appointment. If you ask for a certain and agreed upon appointment time, they will be comfortable pushing off your time if they are with another client. I am a patient person and usually do not mind. Today, I was sitting in the chair waiting for 40 minutes past my appointment time, I as a medical student don't have the time to sit there in-between my errands and classes. It upset my mood and I had to leave to get to my next class and I wasted about an hour of my time. After today I will be looking for a new salon and not returning here. read more

Got my nails done by Steven this afternoon and i must say he is VERY nice and is very careful he never once cut me and pays close attention when he gets close to the edges not to cut the skin. I Drive all the way from Manteca just to get my nails done here, I would never go anywhere else! I get my nails filled every three weeks, I should really go every four because they still look great at three weeks. I came in on a Sunday and three workers were sitting doing I asked if I could get a fill and pedicure and was told they dont have time not even a can I schedule something later nothing I sat outside for ten minutes calling other salons and the same people still sitting doing nothing. I came here because my regular nail salon was packed on Mother's Day weekend. I don't usually write reviews- just read others for suggestions on places to eat etc.; however, I CAN NOT stop thinking of how horrible this place was. I asked for a pedicure and needed a new set. Their window suggested they accepted credit cards- every type of card for that matter! While waiting for my turn in the pedi chair I heard them asking folks to pull out cash from the ATM they have inside. I asked them if they were cash only, because I said I only have cards. They said they would "talk to the manager" and waved at me to sit down so I wouldn't leave. My pedicure was horrible, $10 more than my regular salon and it was a very basic pedi that took approx 15 min! When I went to the nail table, the lady was extremely rude, pushed every single one of my fingers back after she worked on them and began to say things to her coworkers about "talking to the manager" in whatever language they spoke, they laughed and she kept on saying it- that part, in English. She asked for payment before she polished my nails and when I handed her my credit card, she said "they did not take that, no, no, not that card" (which by the way they have a sticker saying accepting Am/Ex on their window). I handed her a different card and paid for my services. There was no line on the receipt to leave a tip, nor did I care to. I was livid at this point. Especially watching how they treated customers. I can not believe they are in business! She knew at that point I was not going to leave a tip- which I always do no matter where I go, a good one at that- but a little less if the service is bad. But this was beyond bad! No words! I left before my nails could dry and ruined my pinky and thumb on my way out. I will never stray from my nail salon- ever again! Within days, one of my nails broke and they were a complete mess. Thankfully, my regular salon got me soon after to repair the hot mess! Sucks that I have to push one star before it will allow me to post this. If I could I would give it no stars. read more

I went into this place with high expectations because of the 5star reviews but I am being very generous in giving it 2. Firstly, some of the manicurists had a rude attitude; that's never appreciated. Secondly, the massage and foot scrub that came with the pedicure were done very lazily. My FEET didn't get scrubbed but my legs did. What? After then I received a manicure that was done on a filthy station. I'm talking dust everywhere, food and misplaced objects all over the desk and a pair of used post-pedicure sandals left under the desk. I even kicked the dirty shoes to the manicurists side and she still didn't clean it up :( my nails weren't buffed and the paint job is worse than that which my 8year old sister can do. $36 not very well spent. I still even tipped her for her time (though the service wasn't deserving). I do thank you for your time but I will not be returning for your services. Mind you, it's a walk in establishment. I got there in plenty enough time to have them done. I will never patronize this place again! No worries, I walked over to Lonnie's nail and Spa and was treated with respect and they actually did a great job. (Nails, toes, and brows) (My youngest was visiting from college and really adored the job on my brows and asked me to take her to get hers done.)They, too had clients but proper coverage to accommodate "walk-in" clients. After calling 4 salons on a Tuesday morning we ended up coming here because they were the only place with no wait. Now I know why... The girl who did my nails didn't file, clean, or cut my nails before gluing on the tips. For $40 I would expect for my cuticles to at least be cleaned up! She applied the acrylic so thick it was like bubbles on my finger tips. She spent forever filing it off as well as all of the skin around my finger nails. By the time I left they were all raw and bleeding. They're all different shapes and not even the shape I asked for. My pinky nail is definitely crooked and she didn't do enough layers of shellac so they're translucent. The first night they were already lifting and getting caught in my hair and I have a weird bumpy rash around my nails ever since going there. Probably because she put her used tools in the "sanitized" tool box when she finished with me. Steer clear of the short older lady with tattooed on eyebrows. The license above her station said her name was Hieu. Do not recommend whatsoever. Make an appointment somewhere else in Modesto so you don't make the same mistake I did. She rolled out of the bed hunched over and with a serious case of bed head. That alone should have been enough for me to walk out, yet it wasn't. I stayed for the torturous pedi, the picking and pulling of things meant to be attached to my toes. (that would be skin). She spent the better part of my pedi watching tv and I totally felt like I was cutting into her soap opera time. Ok so I have been here like 3 times and Steven up until now has done a great job. I made an appointment and he had to cancel....no big....so I rescheduled for 3 and he called me that day and said can you come in at 4....so I did. When I got there I didn't sit in his chair until 445. While sitting there he didn't pay attention to my nails because he was answering his phone every 5 minutes. I got pink and whites and let me tell you they were the worst nails I have ever had. They were extremely thick, the white and pink met at different points on each nail...some the pink over lapped the white and vice versa. I just had them taken off and my real nail has never been so messed up. Because they were so thick my real nail almost came off with they acrylic. Also...I got a pedicure here and my feet were disgusting after. They were cracked and dead skin was hanging off my feet like I hadn't had a pedicure in 8 years. The entire time my nails were being done 2 other workers were just there talking and peering at her work. It was incredibly awkward. She ignored what i wanted. Getting a pedicure today with mom, and the ladies are not as nice as usual... maybe bc their working on Father's day? We didn't get asked if we wanted hot rocks or the scrub, like they usually do. And the usual massage your feet and legs get? What massage? They didn't turn on the massage chairs, and the lady doing my mom's pedicure has a lot of attitude, taking long sighs, like my mom's feet are making her day miserable. I haven't seen her before, so hopefully she's new and doesn't last.... where's Dila????? She's one of the best and she has such a pleasant attitude. I consider myself a regular and definitely aren't happy today, but 98% of the time I'm happy so I'll still give 4 stars... Asked for hot rock pedicure lady must have not heard me she continued to put this itchy gel substance on me asked her to take it off cause it irritates my skin and told her I wanted hot rocks again but she continued with her own thing. Cut me a couple times, oh and did I forget to mention water was cold not even warm.
