I came here on December 8th and wasn't completely satisfied with the over all work on my nails. I love the color and shape but the way the nail technician had done my nails weren't recommendable. My cuticles and my actual nails weren't touched up. I came here again today (December 16th) to get my 1 nail fixed since it broke, and the new technician shaped my nail completely different and when she painted my color, it wasn't the same even when I told her. She actually pulled the technician who did the original job who kept saying it was the same but it wasn't. Seriously going somewhere else when I get my next full set. read more

Had "Lisa" today for gel nails and aside from being rude and rough, the job she did was sloppy and she filed my nails after the top coat so the ends have no polish. I've had better job done at David Lee nails and best job at Diamond nails. The ONLY positive thing about here is the price but I would gladly pay more for a better job. I will definitely not come here again. After three weeks of acrylics, I decided to take them off today. They would not come off! I had to soak my hands in acetone for an hour. And on top of that, my actual nails started hurting. It spent longer to take them off than put them on. Plus the price was not worth it. I found Steven on yelp about a month ago now. I called on a Friday super last minute for an appointment for a new set he made time to fit me right in right away. They were all very friendly and greeted me when I came in made me feel very comfortable. I showed him a picture of what I had wanted he had a wide variety of glitter to choose from. I Am a hairstylist and my hands are constantly in water but even after 3 weeks I had no lifting at all. I just recently went back in to get a fill and Steven stayed late to accommodate my work schedule didn't not feel rushed what so ever and my nails look amazing can't even see a fill line at all. Zero stars if possible. I got lied to about what the price was for the services that I was getting. I got a pedicure and manicure here. The two women who performed the services didn't care to do their job well and check their work as well. The nail polish that was used on my nails was also not good. I also asked for my nails to be shaped round and when I got in the car to check my nails, all of the nails on my left hand was longer than the nails on my right...super uneven filing and wasn't even the shape I asked. That's what I mean about them not checking their work or putting much effort for the service that I spent my time and money to pay for. I am upset and want the owner to help teach his workers to have good service and diligent work ethic. The woman who worked on my pedicure said i was gonna get a pedicure lied at the end. She said I was going to get a gel pedicure, but instead didn't do it and lied about the price. I will never ever come back to this salon and highly discouraged others to get their nails done here. I don't recommend this place and will avoid it in the future. I would rather drive further to get my nails done properly by honest people. I didn't say anything to the women or other workers there about my thoughts because it's not my job to tell them to do their job properly. It's the standards of the owner of this salon. I got my nails done here for the first time about 3-4 weeks ago with Steven. First off, they have sooo many shellac colors to choose from! Steven and the staff were very nice and welcoming. Place is very clean. Now my nails.. Steven got them exactly the way I asked. He took his time and I did not feel rushed at all. However, I think he was running a little late so once he finished shaping my nails, his wife (I believe) took over the shellac. She took her time as well and made sure the glitter was as glittery as I wanted.. giving me an extra coat to make sure. So this place showed up on yelp and I thought hey let's give it a try! Came in to get a fill waited an hour (which is understandable since I didn't have an appointment). Let me start by speaking about the location, it's between a bar and a liquor store! So I came in on a Friday night and there was multiple drunk people outside the salon. A couple of them causing a scene on separate occasions. Felt very unsafe! Now, I was very disappointed in the quality of the work. First, the lady who did my nails did not completely remove the old nail polish. You could see purple (old color) underneath the white (new color). So I came home and cleaned some of it up with nail polish remover, myself. Next, there was streaks and lumps of acrylic under the coat of nail polish, super sloppy I could've done a better job, and I have never done nails in my life. In addition, the nail polish was of bad quality. She had a hard time applying it and instead of getting a new one she continued with that bottle and had me sit underneath a fan for over 30 minutes. Finally, I have had 3 nails break in 3 days. Broke the first nail the next day and I went back to get it fixed they told me the wait time was over an hour! (Only had 2 people working on a Saturday). So I left went to another salon and they fixed it for me (without making me wait, since it was only one nail). Then yesterday I woke up with two other nails broken. I've been getting my nails filled for years and this has never happened. read more

I don't see how this place gets the good reviews it gets! First off, the outer gel coating for my acrylics chipped off two days after application- that's never happened to me! It wasn't just my bad luck either, my sister's black shellac also chipped within a couple days! Anywho, I thought I'd give this place a try because of the good reviews.. I went in to get pink and white fill after I had shellac with acrylic on. I told Steven exactly what I wanted and without any consideration, he buzzed off my nails from what took me forever to grow them, to nub length! I was INFURIATED. After asking if he could leave the white tip very thin, he the gave me what was a thick band of white- HELLO!? Am I getting through to you or am I not speaking English!? I'll stick to going where I normally go because aside from not listening to clientele wants and needs, the products from acrylics to the top layer or gel are clearly low quality. My nails looked like glue-ons from the drug store. Save your time and $$$! read more

Place is clean and staff was very friendly! Jenny was the one that did my nails and I wanted to try the new coffin shaped look that I saw in the picture in the pass reviews and she did them so great! Was the first time trying this style and I love it, she was able to do the shape exactly, it took approximately an hour which was longer then what I'm used to but definitely worth it! It saddens me that I have to even leave such a negative review, but this salon has truly changed. We used to go to Davids until we began going to Stevens. We had gone to Stevens for years, until recently. My sister went in to get her nails done when they claimed that she didn't pay the last time she went to the salon with her family. How would it even be possible for a family of four to leave without paying?!?! Nobody would allow someone to leave their business with full service without payment. They were blaming my sister for something she didn't do. Their only consensus was because my sister has two kids. There's more than one mother in Modesto with two kids and a husband. If you want to go to a salon that will talk demeaning and rude to you while you get your nails done claiming that you never pay the next time you visit Stevens is your place. read more

I have had several people do my nails here and they were all good. I will say Steven is my favorite and I continue to go to him now.
