this review is in regards to making an appointment. I've been wanting to try NaiLAX for awhile and one of my girlfriends went recently and recommended them. I like that you can just text to make an appointment, so I did. It took awhile for their initial response but that's fine. I figured I message and they get back to me when they can. I also appreciated that they thoroughly asked questions to what I thought would help ensure I have the right tech for my appointment. I wanted dip powder removal and a new set with design. I sent them photos and they told me respectfully they couldn't do the design I wanted. Totally fine so I picked another one similar to something they posted on IG. I text Friday morning. I understand that they were booked all weekend. I was pressed for time and need my nails done by Tuesday. They provided me a Monday morning appointment and I responded within 2 minutes saying I want to book it. Then it was crickets until I finally text back today to confirm the appointment before I just show up at the salon. They proceeded to tell me whoever I was texting with Friday never saw my response, and the earliest appointment they now have I Tuesday. While they apologized for the inconvenience it's unacceptable. If you're going to give your customers an option to text you need to make sure you're responding and confirming the appointment. Maybe I'll give them another chance in the future but this left a real sour taste in my mouth. I'll take my business back to my regular salon, who has never done me like this. read more

Overpriced and not worth it. I gave this place several tries, but the overall vibe is they are very money focused and I bet the workers aren't paid well enough. The staff doesn't try their best to make clients happiest. Owner of store is a young female who needs to learn to improve her customer service skills and not allow her male assistant to treat customers with a snobby attitude. The male assistant at the front is stuck up, rude, and unaccommodating. Stubborn too. Male assistant was rude on the phone when I asked about prices too. Didn't have the patience to give me the prices nicely when that's so important before a client potentially comes. Owner knew what was going on, heard everything, never stepped in or said anything during a heated, stressful situation to help the client out. They also don't have massage chairs. For the prices, they don't even do a good job with cuticle clean up, very brief and minor clean up. They don't accept ZELLE or Chime or Apple Pay. Accepts only cash or card. They were unwilling to accept Chime when Chime allows you to send money to a phone number or email when the other party does not need to have Chime. They did not need to share their banking information with me at all. It's safe and they were stubborn and unaccommodating when I'm the one paying them. Kept explaining to their concerns and wouldn't budge. And now, they are charging clients deposits to book appointments. Front desk staff and business is very money focused and also pressures you to tip with a Venmo card they hand to you as if they are entitled to the tip when it is optional. It's not a nice feeling. They also focus on getting your money before the end of your service just so they don't have to wait for the end of your service to collect payment. Doing this takes away from the relaxing, pampering feeling of getting your nails done. Having to get your money, card, or send payment via Venmo. Don't recommend this place to get your nails done long term. Not worth the prices or the customer experience. I recommend Moi Nails Studio in Los Angeles. Tons of clients go there because they stand out with their services (High hygienic standards) and customer service priorities. Very courteous and knowledgeable. Better staff, they have massage chairs, high standards for how they do nails, prices are very reasonable and not overpriced, accepts Venmo, ZELLE, cash, card, and does not pressure you to tip. Everyone there are all hard workers and all genuinely care about customer satisfaction, nail health, and the owner Spring is very skilled and is very professional. Many nail techs have years of experience. They can do very detailed, beautiful designs too! Very skilled!!! The last few times I have gotten a pedicure service here the nail techs seem to have bad attitudes. It's as if they're angry about having to provide the service. I can understand not wanting to deal with feet but if you have an aversion, try a different career path. On one appointment I was slowly putting my foot into the overly hot water and the tech pushed my foot down with no concern of the water temp. Same tech left polish all over my cuticles and cut my nails unevenly - the whole service was bad. Next time a different tech was terribly unpleasant. The ladies that answer the phone greet you as you walk in are nice. The place is relatively clean and it's easy to get an appointment. Super cute spa, clean, trendy and the staff was really friendly. I got my nails done by Michelle I also got a pedi (don't remember the young lady's name) how ever she did a fantastic job. I got them in WHITE AS I DO 60% of the Time AND NEVER HAD AN ISSUE. It was a pretty pricey place which I don't mind paying for if they do the job correctly and I'm satisfied and the vibe is good. I noticed my nails were getting stained a little more every day. I called to address my concerns, spoke to Kayla. She asked for me to send her photos. One time I had an appointment at 10am and i brought my aunt with me as she wanted to get a manicure done as well. At check-in we were told that there was a nail tech available to start on mine but the next open slot for my aunt would be at 12:30pm as she was a walk-in and no one else was available. They let my aunt sit next to me in the big comfy chairs and offered us beverages. About a half hour later a nail tech finished up early and said they can start on my aunts manicure. This is one of those places that look better online than it did in person. This place is declining quickly. The service and the cleniliness of the salon is declining rapidly. Soon it will be just like every other salon with poor service, dirty tools and just dirt everywhere in the salon. When I first went months ago, it was clean and everyone was polite, however, my most recent time I went, I left out CRYING without finishing my nails. Everyone at the shop is sweet aside from the receptionist Naomi. They were pretty rude to me the last time I was there. They asked me if I ever been to nail school because I said I can still feel gel on my nails. When trying to explain to Naomi, they got fed up with me and walked away while talking crap about me. Naomi never apologized even though I apologized to them. Naomi lost patience with me because I was "talking over them when they were trying to explain." Naomi doesn't know that I am neurodivergent therefor sometimes I accidentally talk over people. I apologized to Naomi and asked them to continue to explain to me but it didn't matter, Naomi was so rude to me that I cried and couldn't finish my set. At the register, Naomi ignored me for 5-7 minutes as I stood in front of them waiting to pay. Completely ignored me with an attitude even as I've expressed discomfort I felt in this salon. Lastly I was told it's by appointment only. As I was there they took a walk in an immediately starting servicing her hands AND feet as for me, I waited about 10 minutes while they all sat in the break room. It took them at least 10 minutes to greet me even though I had an appointment and was on time. They offered to redo my nails and made me wait 30 min after my appointment... fine I let it slide. Then after they fixed it 2 more nails broke up and then 3 nails from the new one. I had enough.. I called I had to pay for the 2 nails 16$ each nail ???? Ya and for the new nails that broke I wasn't going to come back and have to pay for everything again.. this was the worst nails I ever received. I didn't want to name drop but she left me no choice. I was accommodated VERY last minute, I asked to get my mani and pedicure done at the same time since I was just transiting through LAX, they said they couldn't guarantee it since I called about 2 hours before the appointment, and they pulled it off no problem. I wish I could remember the name of the receptionist, they were so helpful and communicative! They even called me and asked if I wanted to come in early, since they knew time was not on my side; which was great since I was able to fit it in a nap before my flight. So i actually really like NaiLAX. Im a frequent customer. I usually get french toes, and my hands may change slightly. This day i got my own nails coated and requested an oval shaped french tip with a simple line design on 1 finger/ each hand. (The pedicure picture was a different time, i only got my hands this day) The woman who helped me said she can do it. This isn't usual, but we took almost 2 hours on my hands. I usually don't mind someone taking their time, but only if and when you're providing me with what i asked for. We filed my nails down a bit, (did not request it, but chucked it up to shaping). As she started the design (1.5 hours in) i tried to tell her about the french tip shape again, she said ok but still did the shape in the picture. I also tried to remind her of the design i wanted on my ring finger that did not have a french tip, she did it anyway. I also provided her a picture of what i was asking for, she didn't follow the pictures. By the time we did our 7th uv light on each hand she asked me if i still wanted the design, i told her no it's fine. (There was a woman sitting next to me that even mumbled, "that sounds frustrating " i just giggled but definitely was). When i got to the register, they quoted $76 (keep in mind, i only gotten my nails coated and french tip, nothing else). I usually pay about $65-$68 when i get a full acrylic set with French Oval shape, long or medium. So i was confused to ask what was i paying $76 for. Unfortunately i had an appointment i was going to be late for so i didn't ask. But definitely ask questions. They can definitely be on the higher priced side but i think they need a set price sheet because I've had better work from here that has cost less. The vibe is good. The host in the front is always nice. I think they forget sometimes when they ask if you want a complimentary drink. Because the last 2 times Ive went, i said yes to water and they've forgotten. Now this is my third time coming here and I will be back. I left a review a few days ago saying I was dissatisfied with my nails. Kim called me right away and told me to come to the salon so they can fix them. I went in today and am very happy. Honestly, it was so hassle free and I wasn't expecting such graciousness. The nail tech also made sure I was happy before I left. And as always they keep the salon so clean and practice social distancing. Truly recommend this place (10/10). Just got a gel mani and pedi... beautiful and relaxing space. Personnel was very nice and they were very prepared to manage COVID however my cuticles were not done/clean well. The guy that did my nails was super attentive but just doesn't seem to have enough experience on nails. Besides that, it was a great atmosphere but would've wished my nails were done better... UPDATE: Customer service matters and I appreciate it just as much. The NAILAX staff called me and rescheduled an appointment to fix the gel manicure. The same manicurist worked on my nails and he left it all on the table. Beautiful job and more importantly I appreciate a team and business that understands that all we want is great service.
