Her "studio" is located in The Face Place & More Skin & Body Care, sharing the space with Linda Hirsch, Cloud 9 Massage, SkinFX, & Advanced Skincare By Marilyn. Services include anti-aging/acne facials (Luminesce, Acne Complex, Sun Undone, Resurgence, Back, Youth Building, Chinese Gua Sha, AHA Rapid Exfoliator, Men's) & waxing (Chin/Lip/Sideburns, Brow/Underarm, Traditional Bikini, Playboy Bikini, 1/2 Leg, Full Leg/Back/Chest). The facials are customized to client's needs & 50+ min. facials include additional services. I used to alternate between Luminesce, AHA Rapid Exfoliator, & Resurgence as a Murad client. Since reconnecting, I've been booking the CHINESE FACIAL GUA SHA (detoxification of face, neck, & shoulders with special jade gua sha technique; combats aging, reduces inflammation & puffy eyes, decreases pore sizes, help speed up cell regeneration, reduces stress) on a monthly basis to clean my face healthy & glowing. The daily life workload & stress, in addition to COVID-19, I really need this monthly getaway, even if it's just a small fraction of time. I'm usually just on time or a couple minutes behind, Susan always opens & greets me at the door with a smile (a huge + in my book that I'm not delayed because that cuts into my paid time)! =) The space is private -- just us -- but I always wear my mask & make sure I'm healthy before going even if we're vaccinated & boosted, & there's a temperature check at the entrance. The intimate room is clean & well-organized with dimmed lighting, comfy & warm bed, & relaxing background music to promote a serene & zen treatment. Before starting, Susan did a thorough analysis (to make sure this is the best facial for my current needs). As mentioned in the previous review, a good esthetician should recommend a different method than your standard MO because your skin changes with age, sun exposure/the elements, etc. Susan ALWAYS does just that at each appointment, adjusting the technique, timing of each process, etc. And if you're a new client, she explains what product & process in each step. At times, I don't even have to point out the problem areas because she spots these changes under the magnifying glass & adjust the treatment to rebalance & rejuvenate my skin. Sometimes Susan focuses more on my face, & other times when I'm rather stressed/tensed, she spends a little more time on the mini massage to remove the kinks & knots in my shoulders & neck. I'm highly sensitive to touch (= extremely ticklish), yet she skillfully maneuvers over these stress points with ease without my breaking out into delirious laughter. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Only 1 other professional, Francine (also from defunct Murad), was able to give me a massage without me squealing or squirming. Under Susan's proficient care & deft hands, the extraction process was minimal in discomfort that I can nap through the facial process when I'm tired. Most recently, I've been awake through my facials to chat in Cantonese. It's so nice to find someone who can speak the language so I can strengthen my Chinese roots, help me with common idioms & phrases, etc., bond over upbringing & familial care, etc. =) Comfort, quality, & care is what Forever Young By Susan is all about. Susan incorporates Eastern & Western techniques to detox & take care of the my skin issues that leaves me with dewy, glowing skin! I highly recommend Susan for your facial treatments. Unfortunately, this experience was incredibly disappointing. I showed the first stylist multiple reference photos of what I wanted, but she ended up adding a very dark root color to my already lightened hair, which was the complete opposite of the look I asked for. After expressing my concerns, the salon did have another stylist step in to help correct it, which I appreciated, although I waited nearly two hours in between. The second stylist made me feel much more comfortable and did improve the situation, but I still left unhappy with my hair overall. The correction consisted of using a color remover on the roots and applying toner to the rest of my hair, and I was charged $265 for it. At the end of the day, my hair looked better than what the first stylist did but still nowhere near what I originally asked for or envisioned. I'm leaving this review because I think communication and transparency are incredibly important, especially with color services. What upset me most was not just the outcome, but the way the situation was handled overall. I understand that corrections can take time and effort, but if I was going to be charged $265 for a corrective service after my hair was initially mishandled, that should have been clearly communicated to me beforehand. I truly wanted to love this salon and leave feeling taken care of, but unfortunately I left feeling disappointed, uncomfortable, and unhappy with the overall experience.

This place has the worst service! I went a few weeks ago for a gel manicure. The technician was so rough he actually hurt me by filing my finger (not just the nail part). When I told him he cut me his response was unbelievable "that's not a cut, that's a burn." Like as if it's not bad to BURN your customers. It was sore for days. Not only that, but the actual gel manicure was awful!! There was dirt under the layers and some of the fingers were completely bubbly and bumpy right away, before I even left the salon. If you know anything about gel, you know that this is REALLY bad. I complained and had them fix the nails that were utterly unacceptable. In exchange for all of the issues they gave me a card for a free manicure the next time I came in. I was in a pinch and decided to return to the salon for a quick gel manicure. I asked for the people who were recommended to me last time for the best gel mani's (after my guy was so bad). Every single person I asked for apparently no longer works there. That's never a good sign!! When I got there, I showed them the free coupon before they started the manicure. Not very surprising the front desk person acted like she had NO idea what the card was and asked me who gave it to me. I showed her the signature on the card and she still asked who's signature that was. Like it's my job to figure out their horrible customer service system. Then she told me she would have to contact the owner to verify the free coupon card. I waited in the waiting area for a while, the girl presumably contacted the owner and then just went on to ignore me and help other guests. She never came back to help me or to give me an update. Eventually I just walked out. They didn't call me, even though they had my number from when I made the appointment. They are obviously trying to get out of doing one free manicure, which doesn't even come close to make up for the bad service they give you there. read more

I recently visited Nail Garden El Segundo and had a great experience! Fane at the front desk was great, Anna was very personable and funny and to top it off her work speaks for itself. I usually like my nails simple or fun and creative, never in between. Anna definitely delivered a creative, fun look. I love them! And then Cindy did my pedicure, super clean and neat white toes, my fave and she made them look a lot better than other nail salons do. I was very satisfied with my visit! Facts for first timers: - parking is great, lots of space - it's in a shopping center so next door is a hair salon and Starbucks - they offer an array of complimentary drinks at Nail Garden, I got a latte - pricing is not that bad, considering other places I've been to and I seen that they have high end clientele so tbh it makes sense I'll be back to Nail Garden :) read more

I hardly do review is not my thing but when someone needs to be recognized, I will be the one to applauses them. With that being said , This is my first time here ,I was an early walk in with no apt, and the front desk lady Joanna was marvelous, she is very welcoming with so much joy and was very communicative on how long the wait will be since I came right when she opened, She provided me a complimentary Latte & helped me choose colors and started the pedi bowl to start soaking my feet mean while we waited & as soon as technician came in she got me started on my service. This place is the spa you want to be to pamper your self / girls day out. Will be returning in 2 weeks with all my Girls and hope to have them experience what I did today. Love love love this nail salon! The place is gorgeous! Walked in and was greeted immediately, I came in for a gel manicure which I desperately needed and was sent to my girl Tina. She is fantastic. She made my nails look great. I had broken a nail and she filed so you couldn't even tell. This is definitely my go to spot. Everyone is super friendly and the quality of service is awesome. Love them! They have sooooo many colors to chose from it's amazing! I like to change the color or pattern of my ring fingers everytime I get my nails done so I was in heaven. Also, I was expecting my manicure to take well over an hour as it does at other salons but I was done pretty quick and my nails were looking the best they ever have. Flat out, the WORST nail salon in history. I have never gone into a business where every single human being working there was rude beyond belief. Not to mention it is so rude that the techs don't speak English around the customers while they do services, but the receptionists are all so stuck up and rude. It's like every time I have come in, it feels like i'm interrupting THEM. I should be greeted and at least look at me when you are ringing me up. This location is terrible. My 3 year old daughter can give me better customer service than any person working there. On a good note, I learned that Nail Garden is franchised and I will most definitely being paying a visit to the other location. Hermosa Beach is on my list to try since it's closer. I noticed my review is missing, so I will write it again. Just last weekend, I had an appointment. I was right on time, and told after waiting 15 minutes that I'd need to wait another 15 minutes. THIS---after a couple weeks ago, they gave away my appointment because I arrived 12 minutes late and they said they had a VERY STRICT 10 minute late rule. So, I made sure to be on-time after that. So, here's the deal, If you require that I be on time then you must be on time. PERIOD. I WAS a long-time customer. It costs no less than a 100.00 dollars every time I visit. I spent a lot of money here. But as a Manhattan Beach resident, I will not be going back. read more

So glad I took my daughter here for her prom, she truly enjoyed her visit. I called last week in the evening to make the appointment and her name was Fonay I believe (so sorry probably butchered it), but she was great. She was very thorough about the services and super kind! She was also there when we came in. She made it very comfortable for my daughter, even offered her a vanilla latte. My daughter says it was a "10 outta 10" experience overall especially because the receptionist kept checking on her and making sure she was okay from the beginning to the end. One star is too much. This is one of the worst shops I've visited in a while. I frequent the high end salons often and decided to check out nail garden after hearing so much about the Sherman oaks location. The woman at the counter (in the blue dress today with the heavy eye shadow) (it was two women at the counter so I'm not trying to be rude) was very rude. She acted like she didn't want to give the discount to me for being a student and was just very snobbish. I've had better experiences elsewhere. Love, love, love this place! I went with my 3 year old daughter and we had the most amazing time. I got a full set from a tech named Molly and my pedicure was done by Jenny. My daughter got a princess mani/pedi and loved being pampered. Everything was super luxurious and they took such good care of us. The polish selection is ridiculously amazing - every conceivable color. I was amazed that they even had a brand just for children. I have had so many bad experiences at nail salons and I am thrilled to have finally found a place that provides beautiful nails and luxury. Highly recommend Jenny - best pedicures!! read more

I went to get my nails done with my wife on Saturday. we were greeted by a very friendly hostess who offered us wine or coffee, we chose wine and had a smile on our face because we were also quickly seated with a nail tech. the two front desk gals seem to manage the place very well and professionally because it was busy but there was not a long wait and the place was very clean and upscale. It took them 45 mins to do both my wife and I and we were ready for shopping and grabbing a bite at whole foods very quickly afterwards. I have had my pedi n mani done here for a year now Joleen is amazing! I am diabetic I have to be careful with my feet, I see my podiatrist every 8 weeks but for the last year I have only been there to visit I guess... Today I went in to see my podiatrist he said you know I love seeing you here but whoever is doing your pedicure is doing my job and is great at it! If you keep going to the same person I really don't need to see every 8 weeks see you in 6 months! Wow! All thanks to Joleen!! Thank You so much!! I just moved to the area and decided to try this place. I did a mani/pedi with Thu and Cindy, they were great!! This is the first time my nail ladies actually engaged in conversation with me while servicing me in a nail salon, very sweet of them. Also, thank you so much to the lovely receptionist for going out of her way to soak my feet while waiting on the ladies and being able to squeeze me in for a full face wax so last minute! I had an amazing experience at Nail Garden in El Segundo! Coco was my nail tech, and she was fantastic. She was so gentle and had incredible attention to detail--my nails have never looked better! Joanna, the floor manager, truly stole the show though. She was so attentive to everyone who walked in and made me feel completely at home from the moment I stepped in. The salon itself is gorgeous, super clean, and has such a relaxing vibe. This is definitely the kind of place you'd want to bring your girls to for a special occasion. I had such a wonderful experience here! Sandy and Sang did an amazing job on my manicure and pedicure. They were incredibly kind, attentive, and made sure I was comfortable throughout my entire appointment. I love coming here. I used to come religiously 2x a month for lashes by Lynn and my manicure by Amy and my Pedicure by Rose. I miss them so much as I have not come back as often as i would like because of COVID. Some of you are complaining about $5 being charged for COVID but think of how hard it has been for the technicians to be out of work for so long. they are independent contractors and need customer support to survive. It was super busy during the time of my service around 1pm and I just want to say the sweet, young girl at the front desk was doing an IMPRESSIVE job accommodating every single customer that walked through that door and adding such a positive attitude in the salon. My review is based upon the lack of availability for appointments for the technicians. Whenever I…read morecall, the receptionist only offers me appointments that are late in the evening and 1-2 hr before closing which isn't considerate. I called to inquire about appointments and the receptionist stated that the techs make their own appointments, but when I went last week, the tech mentioned that the front desk books their appointments. It definitely feels like a lack in honesty, transparency, and customer service. If my business isn't appreciated, then I can find a different nail salon who will appreciate a client who spends $100+ each time for my nails plus tip because this is disappointing and frustrating. Besides this matter, the Nail techs that I have worked with have been great and I hope to continue working with them as long as I can get a decent scheduled appointment when I call in advance notice.

It's because of the quality of the work done and the quality of the materials. The owner controls the products that are used in salon, and because of this there are no cheap products used by individual manicurists. I go every 4 to 5 weeks forl my fill, French manicure with acrylic and gel topper. My nails never chipped Harley ever. And all those years I've been going, maybe they have chipped five or six times. But I just call in, go in and they fix it quickly and then I'm off and running again. I go to Bonnie for my nails and Katie for my toes. I highly highly recommend them both! And I know that other people who work in the salon are just as good. But ... Bonnie and Katie are my gals!

However usually I pay $60-75 depending on the salon and this salon charges $75 - not a problem. However they need to be more transparent about their prices. I asked for a regular pedicure but they pressured me to do gel on my toes too. I know gel is an extra cost but I never would have thought it would cost me an extra $30 on top of my pedicure. I essentially paid another $75 for a simple pedicure with gel. I was caught off guard when I was at the front ready to pay. Unfortunately - I will not be coming back, not because the work isn't good but because the pressure to get gel as well as the lack of transparency turned me off.

Well today lucky me!! Finally a spa chair worth its salt...so comfortable and love the pillows and adjustments that Karen did to make me 100% comfortable! Nice warm water soak and what a treat to be able to pick your aromatherapy scent from 4 different types. The service was top notch and unlike other nail spas I enjoyed this experience start to finish. Karen was so attentive and sweet. Lots of extras in the slow beauty option and what a pleasant surprise to find out it was 20% off for first timers!! I was really impressed with the quality of products they use as well. I chose a neutral and professional but still fun metallic rose gold from their many colour options. The salon has a lovely ambience and a chic decor which relaxes. Dottie did a great job on my manicure, taking special care of a broken nail that needed some TLC. The paint job is flawless but it was the great care and conversation that I enjoyed the most with Dottie. If I lived in LA, Dottie would be my go to gal for great nails.
