Very rushed manicure and pedicure. Had me reach across to her with my hand unsupported to do the manicure. No table to rest my hand on a table, so it was not very comfortable. I have very thin nails and she proceeded to sand the top of my nails with a file which didn't do a me any favors. Now they're chipping and splitting much more than they used to. read more

So I should've come here much much sooner! My son attends a drop off class at the Gymboree downstairs and when the weather is bad I'm stuck in the building for two hours. Well today lucky me!! Finally a spa chair worth its salt...so comfortable and love the pillows and adjustments that Karen did to make me 100% comfortable! Nice warm water soak and what a treat to be able to pick your aromatherapy scent from 4 different types. The service was top notch and unlike other nail spas I enjoyed this experience start to finish. Karen was so attentive and sweet. Lots of extras in the slow beauty option and what a pleasant surprise to find out it was 20% off for first timers!! I was really impressed with the quality of products they use as well. Love their appointment booking system which sends you text messages and emails to remind and confirm. Owner is super accommodating. Free wifi and a chocolate on your way out...what more could you want. Will be back for sure!! read more

Well Manicured - Pick your scent!! - Nail Salons Near Me - Manhattan Beach, California

Look no further!!! You come here and you will be hooked! I've been coming to Well Manicure for a year now. Moved here from Virginia and have travels the world so I've had my fair share of great quality but nothing like Well Manicured. I am beyond picky when it comes to nails, I hate bulky, uneven, brutality handled, and quickly done nails. Let me tell you all, Melanie is none of that, my nails always come out beyond perfect, she takes her time (she's a perfectionist), she's never had a bad day. I always get complements :)!!!! If you are looking for high quality finished products, she's the girl! Parking is easy. Also bonus: easy to talk to and you'll have great conversation! read more

Well Manicured - Love!! Love!! Love!!! Looks like my real nails, but they're not! Lol - Nail Salons Near Me - Manhattan Beach, California

I'm updating the review to 4 stars. :) Within hours of posting my Well Manicured review, the owner Melanie reached out to me personally as well as responding here on Yelp. She apologized and explained a bit of why it happened in the first place. But the bottom line is Melanie stepped up, admitted where she went wrong and wanted to make things right which I greatly appreciated. I was given a choice of "right a way" appointments and finally had a hard gel mani yesterday. I didn't leave 5 stars because my mani isn't perfect (yet) as this is a new technique for the manicurist who worked on me. But I have confidence that with more practice, her application will improve. Thank you Melanie, I appreciate your quick response and genuine care for your clients. read more

Mel is HANDS DOWN the best nail artist I have ever encountered. She is unbelievably talented and it is very clear that she loves what she does. Nothing can beat the quality of her work- she takes her time, is so creative, and everything turns out AMAZING + lasts for weeks. I have never received so many compliments on my nails until I started seeing Melanie. For as long as I am living here, I will continue to see her. I can't praise her or her work enough!! read more

Melanie is amazing! She is super talented, friendly, professional & fun! So far, I have had two manicures by Melanie and have loved each one! They last a long time (she gives great tips on how to make it last) and I received numerous compliments! I hosted a girls night "get ready for the holidays manicure party" right before this Christmas, and it was the most fun ever! Melanie came over to my house, was prompt, and had no problem setting up and settling right in. We had her for almost three hours, and all of us girls had manicures done right in my living room. Talk about comfort and a great time! The manicures were amazing and the party was a success! I highly recommend Melanie! read more

Melanie is amazing!!!! SOOOO glad I decided to try her out. She was super nice, professional, not in a rush, and gave me great pointers (no pun intended) for what could work best for my nails and lifestyle, like shape and polish choice. I've already made my second appointment and will continue to go back so long as circumstances allow me to! I also love being able to book online-it's so easy to utilize that option while on a quick break at work or even while doing something like morning cardio. I highly recommend her! I've been told the pedicures are amazing as well-I will add to my review after I get one :) read more

Well Manicured - Perfect shape and length! - Nail Salons Near Me - Manhattan Beach, California

Melanie is a nail magician. I've had the soak-off gel polish (Gelish) from other salons before, and although it would last longer than a regular manicure, it would never last longer than a week since the top coat would start peeling. Three weeks after a gel manicure by Melanie and it still looks perfect! If my nails hadn't grown out, it'd look like I just walked out of the salon this morning. Her specialty is embellishments, so she likes working with beads, feathers, foils, etc. What I really like about her is that she doesn't think she's too good to do a basic manicure. Maybe it's due to her self-proclaimed OCD, but her solid, one-color manicure is just as perfect as her nail designs. You can book an appointment online, and her gel manicures start at $45 at the moment. read more

I was looking for a new place for manicures and pedicures and was willing to pay more for the service. I started to have my nails done months ago and had them done at the bargain salons that one can find all over the city. However, the quality and care I received was so inconsistent and my frustration level was high. So I set out to find a new salon that would give me a quality mani/pedi. I found Well-Manicured, located in the same building as the Hermosa 24 hour gym. Here I found a salon that had extremely well-trained, knowledgable, caring technicians whose facilities are first class and relaxing. The technicians are friendly, careful and are focused totally on you. Many of the less expensive salons have employees who carry on conversations amongst themselves, which I find extremely unprofessional. This does not happen here. The products used in their services are also high quality. It is more expensive than your typical salon but after experiencing the frustration I endured elsewhere I was happy to pay more for a safe, high-quality, long lasting, beautiful manicure and pedicure. read more

FLIP-FLOP FABULOUS Me and my then-fiancé (now husband) went for pedicures before our beach wedding. The pedicures were great. They were very thorough! The only issue we had was that we were 10 minutes late because we had no idea that this place is one of many studios inside "Salon Republic" on the 2nd floor. Who knew?! read more

Talented, Perfectionists, Sweet, Kind, Uplifting, Soothing, Fun and so much more. Melanie is the complete consummate artist. I am amazed at what God has gifted her with. Jontel is so sweet and she gave me the most wonderful pedicure this evening. Methodical and precise - she was amazing to watch....when I wasn't falling asleep from such tenderness and care! I treated myself to an evening of bliss. The beautiful Anna gave me a neck and shoulder massage (she can really get those kinks out!)....all this, while Jontel was making my toes look like they were perfect (and I pick at them all the time so we know they are not even close to perfect)! The foot message, hot towels, a beautiful scrub and these little piggies are as soft as a baby's bottom. I had the "Signature Slow Beauty Gel Pedicure (90 minutes of sheer joy). All this while Anna was tending to my incredibly tight and painful muscles from hunching over the PC all day and night. I can feel the release from the constant tension. Amazing! I've never had an application of gel polish but it seems to be THE best thing EVER! It should last me about a month and it dries so stinkin' quick that you can put regular shoes on afterwards instead of thongs. There's no turning back to regular polish! Melanie's salon has - BY FAR - the most artistic, precise and focused talented people that will knock your socks off (or in my case - practically put you to sleep from sheer relaxation). Melanie is a great example of being healthy and eating healthy! She lives what she teaches and is such an encouragement. What I really loved to see this evening, was watching and listening to her teach Jontel how to do a french tip. Two artists working together. Her encouragement and tutelage made me feel very privileged watching this interaction of teacher and student. Jontel is a quick study and another perfectionist to boot so my french tip was absolutely perfect. Ladies - thank you for the much needed rest and relaxation I had this evening. I'm tooting your horn because you are incredible, deserve it, and made this evening a much needed getaway. ~Nancy read more

I have been a client of Melanie McCulley's for almost 4 years and can say that hands-down ;-) she is the best manicurist in the South Bay, maybe even the LA area. She is truly a professional in every sense of the word, delivering not only an excellent manicure or pedicure, but also excellent customer service. She is super web savvy and is always posting great pictures and inspirations on Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook of her beautiful work. She does GREAT nail art with gel. She even offers online booking which is so convenient. While her prices are not the same as most cheap/quicky nail salons in town, her quality is also VERY different. So much so that when she's not doing services in the salon, she is usually booked on a photo shoot somewhere on set with a celebrity or she's writing a blog post for a nail magazine. She's the real deal, people...so get your nails done before she gets snapped up to be some star's full-time manicurist because that is how talented she is!!! read more

Melanie is absolutely fabulous! Extremely talented, exquisite attention to fine details...my nails have never looked better...I won't go to a salon, as long as she is willing to come to my house!!! I've been a client/fan of Melanie's for years now! I recently started spray tanning at home with her, much to my delight! She is super! read more

I had my first manicure and pedicure here a few weeks ago with Karen and Jontel; it was wonderful! Super relaxing and peaceful environment. You feel so pampered having two people work on your hands and feet at the same time. The studio is spotlessly clean and the decor is very welcoming, women and men. Highly recommend Karen and Jontel! I'll definitely be back to see them both. read more

I have found my home! Well, my nail home anyway! You could not ask for a better technician than Melanie! She listens to what you want, what you like, and what you need! Well Manicured - Love, love, love - Nail Salons Near Me - Manhattan Beach, California

Well Manicured is a one woman show (for now). And it's the best I've experienced! Owner, Melanie M., works out of a private room within another salon. She doesn't do your typical nail salon experience. If you want modern, current nail art/fashion she is the one to go to. If you have nail art from a picture, bring it in and she can make it happen. She plans to open her own salon in Manhattan Beach and it will be THE SPOT to go to. I had given up on getting my nails due to the typical nail shop experience. Her service has changed my mind. She's the best! read more

First I must say I adore Melanie. She is such a phenomenal woman. I am glad that I met her years ago and have had the pleasure of knowing her. She has created such a beautiful business. She is the most positive, uplifting person I have ever met. She is positive and motivating not to mention absolutely gorgeous inside out. If you are looking for a new nail place look no further. This is the hot spot to get your nails done. I do not live close so my commute to get here is a good 30 to 45 minutes and it is well worth the drive. I love love love what Melanie has done with her place it is absolutely amazing. She has great staff and the spa feel in here is amazing. Retail * I love her retail section she has great products. Everything they use on you can be purchased which I love. Melissa * did my pedicure and she is great. Tin Tin * amazing nail artist great at creating unique and intricate designs. Something you would see in a art gallery. He is beyond talented. Melanie * phenomenal woman, phenomenal business owner, phenomenal nail artist. The art she creates on your hands leaves you walking out feeling high class and sophisticated. Support your local economy and look no further.... The nail experience you will receive here is unlike any other. If you want to get your nails done I assure you this place is for you. They clean and sanitize all the implements. I promise you that you will be so happy. You don't feel like you are being rushed out they take time with you and give you a top notch spa service. I've NEVER in my life had such an awesome manicure that lasted! The South Bay has many nail salons, but none (even in the "spas") are as good as this one. I've tried many! The space is beautiful, everyone I've encountered is wonderful and caring and really want you to have a good experience. Finally someone has opened a nail space that is worth spending the time and money to get this service done. Other places are not worth it and I'd rather go without. The products they use, they stand behind and can tell you about them. It's an easy appointment system, but if there is an issue they will call your and/or text you. Communication with everyone here is easy and pleasant. I'm so happy I finally have a place to go to for an hour of peace and to get a fabulous mani/pedi too! Tell all your friends! read more

Ok let me start by saying I have had acrylic nails for about 15yrs on and off and over the last few months going to Jontel for my pedicure at Well manicured I've been noticing all the beautiful gel nails the girls are rocking, but because I'm a Hairdresser I've always thought that acrylic nails were the only thing for me.... well until Jontel explained to me that gels can be just as beautiful and long lasting as I would like. So today I had the acrylic taken off and gels put on and OMG I couldn't be happier they do the BEST/PROFESSIONAL work I've had and trust me I've been a nail addict for years but nothing better than Jontel and the staff at Well manicured ! If you want to Treat yourself make an appt you will not be disappointed read more

Well Manicured - Gel nails done by Jontel - Nail Salons Near Me - Manhattan Beach, California

Love this place and everyone that works there. Melanie does the best acrylics and is so creative. They are the thinnest I have ever had. She takes the time to create a masterpiece every time I ask for a design. Jontel does amazing pedicures. They are so relaxing and she is so detailed. She makes sure that your feet are smooth before leaving. Jontel did a gel manicure on my mom and my mom could not stop raving about Jontel and her nails. She spent so much time shaping the nails and spent a lot of time on her cuticles. The nails were still perfect after three weeks. The salon is so relaxing and have amazing products. Highly recommend to anyone in the South Bay. read more

This is my first ever Yelp review. I had to write about this wonderful studio because I was so impressed with every detail of service. I easily booked my appointment online for a full set acrylic overlay because I do not get my nails done EVER and thought it was what I needed for an upcoming family wedding. When I arrived Melanie looked at my nails and talked with me about my needs, and with her help, we decided that a good manicure with gel polish was all I really needed. Because I got a discount for my first visit, I also got a pedicure. Let me say that I stay away from "salons" because I'm more of an earth-muffin than fashionista, but Melanie made me feel very comfortable. I especially liked the more ritualistic aspect of my Mindful mani/pedi, although, one could opt for just the basics. I work customer service and recognize that all of the stylists there tailor their approach to fit the client, which is the hallmark of stellar service. The glass of wine didn't hurt either! Everyone compliments me on my nails! And even though Melanie had to cut them short to start over, they look great and will look even better as they grow. And my toes have never looked better thanks to Melisa! Well Manicured is more expensive than the nail-factories I see in strip-malls, but I definitely feel the top-notch experience is well worth the extra money. read more

My schedule is so hectic I'm lucky if my nails get any attention at all! When I met Melanie and she told me of her mobile service I thought to myself, "Hmmm, maybe this could work..." WOW, was I right! Melanie's luxury nail service is worth every cent! Not only is she professional, clean and sanitary, but she is also incredibly detailed, thorough and insanely talented with her artistry. Her service is convenient and fit my schedule and lifestyle perfectly! It's the best thing I've ever done for myself in YEARS! She is, hands down, the best nail technician I've come across! Melanie is awesome. She has done my nails twice now, and both times she impressed me with her creativity and professionalism. She is the best manicurist I have ever visited in my many years of getting my nails done (natural, acrylic, gel) at all points on the price and quality spectrum (express, spa, luxury). She has exceptional service standards, and it shows in her work and the client experience. We are lucky to have her in the South Bay! read more

I went to see Melanie last Saturday for a full set of acrylics with designs. Let me tell you... They came out perfect!! She listened to what I wanted from nail shape down to moving stones around on my design. Not only was she patient with my little case of "ocd for perfection" :-) She took her time with the application of the nails, she cut and filed my nails, she paid attention to my cuticles! For me it's the little things that gain my attention. And for that reason amongst a host of others I will keep coming back to Melanie. Don't expect the same service you'd get at these mom and pop shops, NO expect to be there for more than 45mins. What Melanie will do for your nails in one appt. no other shop can do.
