Queen Nails is my favorite local nail salon. I enjoy the ambiance, friendliness of the staff, excellent service and reasonable prices. Yesterday I was there to treat myself for my birthday getting a mani-pedi (natural buffed fingernails and toe polish) with massage, and a shoulder massage. All three ladies who worked on me were wonderful. So kind. As they were all massaging me at the same time (heavenly) one woman said to me, "You feel like a princess, right?" Indeed I did! I then told them why I was treating myself and they all wished me happy birthday with big smiles on their faces. The owner, Anna, heard it and gave me a little gift. So very kind. Thank Anna and all the staff! One other thing I enjoy about this salon is that there is not a TV blaring like is found in other salons. I went to Queen Nails about 2 weeks ago for a gel manicure and I was very happy with the service provided. The technician who helped me was male and my manicure lasted without any chips. The price was $40. A couple of days ago, I returned for another gel manicure. The male technician was busy with someone else so an older woman helped me this time. She kept asking if I wanted my nails trimmed. I finally said fine. She trimmed about 1 mm, and at the end told me my gel manicure was $45. I asked her why and she said it was $5 extra for trimming. It's not about the $5. It's about being honest and upfront about pressuring a client for a service that will cost extra and at the same time not disclosing that said service will cost more. Got a full set & normal pedicure done here and me and my group were totally up charged. We asked for the cheapest, normal pedicures and they did the "deluxe". I've come here several times with past girls I've dated and long story short - they charge astronomically crazy prices with fake add ones. My girl chose the deluxe mani/pedi listed for $70 and it ended up to be $120. When I asked them to make it make sense to me I had 3 of the women yelling at me at the same time and they said because she got gel manicure and they had to use the dremel tool to sand off the old existing gel that it as much more expensive than what was listed on their menu of options. The deluxe package should include the sending off the the old existing polish, and I can understand if gel is $10 or even $15 dollars more but for it to be $50 more on top of $70 is absolutely absurd. They lost all my future business and I will go elsewhere from now on. read more

I've been coming here for over ten years. It's a hit or miss. This last time I went will be the last. They recently raised their prices and their quality doesn't uphold it. I had the deluxe mani/pedi and they didn't give me the deluxe mani/pedi for the second time. They gave me the spa mani/pedi. They did the last time I came in too. And I had to tell the woman that I do not want my nail beds filed over three times and she still filed them. When I got out of the chair this time, they had a rather large puddle of water on the floor and I had those flip flops they provide and slipped. It ruined three of my nails (which the woman had assured me was dry since they wanted me out at closing time) and tweaked my back. They apologized. Then the woman tried to tell me , as she was fixing my nails poorly at that, she "told me to be careful bc the shoes are slippery". I corrected her and said she didn't tell me and the reason I slipped was bc of the puddle of water she left. I won't go back. read more

2.5 stars .. It was not ok so I couldnt give a 3 but Ive definitely had better. So my quest for a nail salon continues. I was in neighborhoood so I walk in. There is a room in front of me and at least 3 on the other side of the dividing wall. One on the dividing side says may I help you but I thought it was the one in front me. I look up and say pedicure but she is just scowling at me, I turn and see smiling face thinking ok this will be ok. The mean one says pick color. THERE WAS NOBODY IN THIS SHOP! One customer in back with a tech and thats it. So Im standing there trying to pick a color and mean one says come sit, Im like im picking a color, is that ok with you? its like I said nothing so again come sit you pick over here. How am I going to pick over there? She was rushing me to be in this chair with a funky tone in her voice and I was just really confused bc what is the rush? there is no one else in here. I sit reluctantly with the ones I had in my hand. I must also throw in while I was picking a color i dropped a bottle of nail polish and it landed one of their acrylic chairs. I do not have sufficient words to describe how another employee (aside from the two above) reacted to this. She jumped and screamed and started panting hard like I had set off a bomb and then kept looking at me like I did this horrible thing. I mean picture the most dramatic telenovela reaction, no I got it picture the exaggerated to the extreme reactions the cast of SNL has when they are playing the Californians, that was this ladies reaction. I stood there and looked right back at her, dead in her eyes, until she was forced to smile because I could not believe and my look said really?? this dramatic? She starts her work and then asks me immediately if i live around there? why does that matter? You have already put me in a hesitant mood from before. She finishes fine. The whole while she is doing this im thinking i really like this area and this quaint little shop, i think I can overlook our rough start. She was being nice the while she was doing it as if trying to make up for it. But then here comes the end I saw the woman before me pay with a card so Im thinking oh this salon takes cards cool, I saw no sign that said fee for cards (but it could have been there and I missed it) A pedicure here is $22. First weird thing about this transaction, she asks me immediately $25 or $30 never asked for $22. Im thinking wow this is incredibly pushy. I HATE when places try to force you to give a tip. At this point I just want to get out of here so I dont challenge it, I say $25. She charges me $26! and then gives me $3 in change. WAIT, HOLD UP! WTF IS GOING ON HERE? takes me a few seconds to realize that this is suppose to be the tip for the woman who actually did my pedicure. Well I was really done at this point, you practically force me to give a specific tip amount, charge me an extra $1 and then are rushing me like the first one the whole time. I put my $3 in my wallet and left. here is my issue with how this played out. Talk to your customers, especially new ones so they know whats going on instead of rush rush rush. 1) I had the cash for the pedicure and would have paid in cash for pedicure to avoid fee. I dont like using cash but I would have if they told me it was a fee to use card or if there even was a sign to place it more prominently 2) dont force me to give a tip and on top of that force me with a certain amount. 3) again talk me, I definitely had the cash for a tip and didnt need this weird cash back transaction. If I had known thats what she was doing. She ended up screwing her fellow coworker out of a tip because if she had just charged the $3 to my card as I said I just wanted to get out of there so I let it go or better yet if she would have told me what was going on there would be no need for this. Just a lot of bad customer service, micro-aggressions, lets just say the people who walked in after me had much nastier tones towards the workers but the workers tone was always pleasant to them . I wont be back and I cant in good faith recommend this place. The customer service isnt up to par and I mean one of the reasons it was taking me so long to pick a color is because I was looking for a yellow and unlike other salons they dont appear to swap out for season so all their nail polishes were simply divided by brand not season, so it was SOOOO MANY dark and fall/winter colors read more

I've been here three times. The first time I went was the day before my wedding. It's my mother-in-laws favorite nail spa, so I had to go. Note, I never go to nail salons so it was all new to me. I got a pedicure, full set of pink and white and a bikini wax. The pedicure was really nice, but the bikini wax was a whooole different story. My sisters got one for their wedding and Nobody told me I shouldn't have shaved the day before and OMG it was so painful. The lady seemed to scold me how short my hair was lol. I'm never doing that again. The nails were done very nicely though. The second time I came for a fill-in two weeks later. One of my nails cracked and she pointed out there was some lifting in the other nails. I ended up getting a painfully new set. I was confused. I felt like I got ripped off. So I wanted some nail art done and I came for my third (or last) time. They do nail art. I brought a picture and lo and behold...she nailed it. Now I got my geeky stormtrooper nails! No pain involved! Everyone wanted to see them and they even remembered me from my wedding.
