Queen Nails seated me in a spa chair right away to get started on my service, a fill and standard pedicure. Looking around, the business is clean and bright, with TV's to watch. I was a little leery at first, because the manicurist gave an unmistakable and disapproving look at my nails and made a comment to her coworker in her native language that didn't sound very nice. Given my past experiences with bad nail shops, I braced myself for what may have been another disappointing experience. The nail tech gave me a manicure in addition to my fill, which was an unexpected but pleasant surprise. The woman who did my pedicure was detailed and made sure her work was flawless. I forgot to get their names, they did a good job. They have loyal and established customers with standing appointments and I can see why. They asked each other about their holiday plans and how their children were doing, which is always good in building relationships and trust with people who perform personal services to your skin, hands, feet, hair, etc. I paid $52 for the fill and pedicure, which I feel is a little pricey. Demographically speaking, their prices are probably on par for the area and clientele. As far as payment goes, it's cash or credit card, plus tip. For debit cards, you have to pay additional charges in $5 increments to pay your bill. Not sure why their POS is set up that way, but it made me uncomfortable and confused. I can understand the service charge of $1 to use your card, it's the extra and unnecessary "fees" that were annoying. read more

I have been here twice now and the first time was good. But then when I went to get my nails done for the second time, it was horrible. She did a terrible job and upped the price for some reason. My nail broke with in 3 days and the gel polish was chipping after one. I went in and asked them to fix it and you could tell she (the woman I believe to own this establishment) was angry and started to fix the nails. I thought it would be better but she made the nails even worse! I couldn't believe she painted the gel polish on and had me dry them with the fan... I even know that's not how gel nails dry. They look awful with streaks and globs of polish. The worst part was she looked at me said thank you rudely and walk to the back where she hid and wouldn't address what just happened. The lady that was doing my nail didn't know English at all and whatever color I picked didn't know what to bring and the owner who was the only person could talk English kept saying we don't have that color . I go pretty regularly to get my mani/pedi and never have any problems. Yes, they talk to each other in Vietnamese. So what? What nail shop do you go to where they don't talk to each other. And really? Are they talking about the me? I won't know until I finish my Vietnamese language course (yeah right)? There really ain't THAT much to say about me in the nail shop? Imagine that conversation, "her hands look like she should have come in last week." My mani/pedi comes out fine. I had a bikini wax once, and it turned out fine, but I regularly go to someone else, and I don't feel compelled to return for waxing, but I have had my eyebrows done there more than once and they were ok. Waxing was done in the back room of the massage place next door. I usually pay with cash and I get my change (in ones) and distribute my tips myself or specifically state how much I want to go to each person. Yes, they try to upsell... paraffin wax, the massage next store (which is cheap and sometimes very good), but if I don't want it, I just tell them so. No biggie... I love being able to walk on over from my house or after a run down to the beach. I've been going to Queen Nails for a few years now, mostly for my facial waxing needs, and they are all very warm and welcoming when I come in. Now when I visit my friend in El Segundo, I always go to this place. I even got a free 15-minute massage next door! One of my good friends loves this place, so I decided to give it a try and tag along on her next visit. The place is a little small, but I'm a sucker for a spa chair so I really enjoyed that part. I got a pedicure done, and I thought the woman did a really nice job. The spa pedicure comes with a leg/foot massage too, and the chair itself is a massage chair you can have programmed to your preferences. The ladies who work there constantly talk (loud) but I can tune them out easily just by reading a magazine. They are obviously talking about the people there, though, kind of rude. The place was also packed and there was a wait. I thought that was odd for a Wednesday night... They were well staffed with a good amount of nail technicians, but there just was a lot of customers. It felt a little claustrophobic with so many people there. One thing really worth mentioning is that they only take cash or debit cards, no credit cards. read more

Went there with the girls for spa day, they got pedi's and I actually got a facial, which is probably uncommon from what I gathered. I had reduced my expectations immediately when I walked in, as it was not a luxury spa that I was accustomed to, but, hey, I wasn't above it! The aesthetician was friendly and pleasant, and spoke decent English. The facial room was small and left a bit to be desired, but was equipped with essentials and they even carried the Dermalogica skin line which was actually blew my mind. The tech seemed to be confident as she applied the products expertly, but when it came time for extractions it was pretty painful, it hurt way more than Botox!! She really did a number on me, beware!! But no pain, no gain! I emerged with clean pores and refreshed skin, exactly what I was hoping for! I did get a little bit of the upcharge shakedown for add-ons like the aloe mask, but that's expected in many cases, its still a business. Overall I'd say I was pleasantly surprised with the condition of my skin when I left, however the room wasn't exactly Zen and the busy spa chatter was a bit of a distraction, so I wasn't able to completely relax. When I first started going here for manicures and pedicures it was fantastic! However, over the last 6-8 months the quality has gone south. The last time I was in here I received a mani/pedi and was out in 35 minutes! How is that possible? It should take at least an hour. I want to get the full treatment and relax. They get you in and out of there so quickly you hardly have time to settle in. I am not sure what has changed. I really had to suck it up for this salon viist!!! First, they tried to make me put my feet in the spa tub with freezing cold water. I guess they have issue with their plumbing as they didn't seem surprised when I complained the water was COLD!! Not the way i like to start to relax but it does get worse. The massage chairs were rattling and making such loud noises I was afraid someone would think I had gas. My nail person cut my cuticle. She's wiping up blood with a tissue and acts like it's no big deal. Hopefully I don't get an infection because i will complain if that happens. They don't offer credit card paymetns so you're forced to use their ATM and pay charges. I'm so mad that I actually paid for this service but ,like I said, I didn't want my daughter to feel uncomfortable since she knew some of the kids in there. There's a mailman (owners husband I guess) who does manicures too when his wife is busy. I looked over at my daughter at one point and a mailman was doing her nails. Originally the owner had started my daugher's manicure. Funny, I guess... but I prefer to go to the other nail salons who offer professional service for the same price. Manhattan beach salons are about 5 minutes away from here and wouldn't pull this crap. OK for young girls and teens who don't expect much. read more

I give benefit of the doubt like crazy but this place is a definite no-go! Only covid protocol they follow is you are outside. No waiver, temp checks, hand sanitizer, many workers not wearing masks correctly or at all when I was there. On top of that, they try to upsell you constantly, do a quick rush job, overcharge...I had the fastest mani/pedi in my life and did not get 1 second of time to relax especially as the pedicurist was not gentle whatsoever so hurt my foot 2x! This was my first time at Queen Nails and it was absolutely the WORST gel manicure I've ever had!!! First of all when I ask my manicurist where were the OPI gels I could select from in their box she couldn't tell me and she ask her coworkers and they didn't seem to know so she told me to pick a color I like and she would find a OPI color that was similar. Throughout my manicure she kept cleaning the paint off my skin (yes this has happened before but never constant) and then she forgot to put a top coat on my right hand and I had to remind her. Then when when she was almost done she was filing my nails and using clippers to clip off the extra gel when she cut my finger. She apologized which was nice but then she had to have someone else finish up my nails. Side note: I called before I went in and they told me for a gel mani it was $30. So when I went to pay they told me $35. I asked why it was $35 and they said we charge $5 to take off gel....OKAY every nail salon I've ever been to takes off the gel for FREE if you gel put back on. I told them I got cut and only want to pay $30 so they said that was fine. They also said if it chips to go back and they will fix it, however that makes me doubt the quality of their work. I tipped my manicurist $5 (which is incredibly low for me) and walked out. I won't be back. I'd rather pay $20 more and go to Bellacures. read more

I keep coming back for many reasons. Reason #1 is they are super clean. I've never been anywhere cleaner. Also, they're really nice. They're open 7 days. They just expanded and have great massage chairs. They don't accept credit cards but do accept checks and there's an ATM type machine inside that will charge you extra fees. read more
