The overall vibe of the place was very relaxing, including cute Christmas decorations that made it that much better. But this weekend I walked out with some sort of chemical burn on my leg that happened when I was getting my toes done. They must not have cleaned their equipment very well. OPEN ON SUNDAY (as of 3/21/2021). My favorite and only nail salon in the south bay. I got a gel manicure and regular pedicure. Nails are beautifully done consistently (as I have been a customer for a long time now). Heidi, the business manager always tries her best to accommodate your schedule. Unfortunately, I didn't like the results of pedicure or acrylic set. None of the nails look the same, some are smaller/ skinner than others. My right hand looks nothing like left, leaving me disappointed. It was a beautiful day yesterday. I hadn't treated myself to a me day in a couple of months so once I dropped the kids off for school I decided to go see what delights I could get at MOD as it's super close to home. I got there early and there were 4 or so nail techs working. One other lady was there getting her nails done so it was very spacious. They quickly asked me what I would like to get and after arranging where I would sit I was told to pick the color I like. I originally asked them if they could do marble after seeing it on previously recent yelp reviews and was quickly told no as the "girl who does it no longer works there" okay..... so I pick a grayish ombre dip and they tell me yes they can do it. I sat down and then was told they waxing technician just arrived so I can get up and go into the waxing room first.....okay.... so I go into the room for my eyebrow wax and the woman was great. She took amazing care of my requests and I wish I could rate on this alone because (5 stars). The best part about this was the lady who did my pedicure. I got to sit on those beautiful comfy massage chair while she worked her magic (Uhhhh LIFE!!!) She was so gentle and thorough. My feet tend to be rough and she took her time removing any calluses will being considerate of my tender and ticklish heels. She was just awesome and my feet feel great. I got a basic pedicure with French tips and I love it. Here is the trouble THOUGH I got an acrylic set nothing outrageous and I wanted a grey ombre dip. I asked them prior to starting if they could do this and they confirmed yes. 2 hours later and after trying to do the ombre the technician tells me "it wont work.They grey is to light" okay.... so now I just want my nails done...." can you do chrome on the tips then?" Yes they could do that. 120$ later and I'm satisfied with everything but my NAILS. the one thing I hoped they would do was get my nails looking gorgeous and as nice as they are their not what I wanted. I might try them again for convenience but there's a good possibility i may need to find a new nail spa. read more

Originally, I had requested to get my acrylics soaked off in order to get a fresh gel mani & pedi. But unfortunately after the constant "suggestion" from the lady to just get a fill I caved. While I was choosing the color I was going for she hovered until deciding on a color (came in with an idea anyway) and then rushed to the chair. She filed my nails so hard, had to keep telling her to stop. Then the dermal shaved off skin on top of my knuckle when she was distracted by another client. Now I get accidents happen but everything just went downhill from there. My nails as you can see aren't smooth and are chipping already. I showed her and she said it was the powder? Mind you I came in with chrome nails and they sure as heck didn't look like that. She didn't even offer to fix them. I honestly want my money back. This is for a trip that I leave for tomorrow, so I don't have time to get them redone. read more

I got a classic mani and pedi for $53. They are cash only. They are practicing social distancing and following COVID protocols. Linda did my hands and Trini did my feet. They took their time and did a good job. Appointments are recommended. They close at 5pm on Saturday's (their hours are different here on Yelp), but took a walk in at 5pm. They have a wide selection of OPI nail polish and big massage chairs. I'll definitely be coming back! read more

This place used to be great, not sure what happened. Prices went up and service went down. It is now $25 for a pedicure which makes it the most expensive pedi in the neighborhood. I asked for straight across shape and I got rounded and some of my nails aren't even cut straight. The polish has bubbles. Every time she painted a nail she had to use her own nail to scrape polish off. Terrible. I couldn't even enjoy the service. I expect my pedi to last 2+ weeks but I don't think I'll be able to stand walking around like this for more than a week. I honestly have never been more disappointed to get my nails done. The lines were very jagged they weren't completely filled in, there was streaks of polish all over my nail. She drilled my nail's so much that it became red at the very bottom towards my cuticle on a couple of my fingers. And after I asked her to fix it she said she did and let me leave like this. This nail salon is pretty big and spacious but I think it's a little expensive for the quality of the work. Not to mention it's cash only. I really wanted some pampering so I did the Margarita pedicure for $35. It came with a margarita sea salt scrub, massage, mint cooling masque, and warm towel wrap. I've been to other nail salons where they don't charge extra for things like the massage and towel wrap. I paid extra for the French tip and I had to ask the lady to redo it a couple times because it was uneven and the tips were a little too thick (TWSS!). WORST customer service ever. My mother is in town and we had planned to walk over and get our nails done at 930( when they open) and the store was not open with no one around. They all showed up over 20 minutes late and then proceeded to be EXTREMELY RUDE. My mother and I just left and will never come back to this horrible customer service. So I have been trying to find a new salon closer to my house and I thought I would give this place a chance. I have been getting acrylic with gel polish for years and have NEVER had a set last only 6 days before lifting. The girl that did my nails was sweet but looked like she was in high school. They were thick and uneven but I was in a hurry and it took what seemed like forever to get them done in the first place. They wanted to take all the old ones off, ironically, "so they last longer." Lol! This is the third nail salon I have tried, and it was by far the worst out of the 3! I will keep going to Bay City Nails in Redondo. It's worth the drive bc my nails actually last 3 weeks. Used to be a good place but not anymore! When we walked in the receptionist/ manager hammered us to decide on what we wanted done, on the spot. My granddaughter is 8 and wasn't sure if she wanted a full mani/pedi. She was sure that she didn't want to be hounded and stared at! My sweet little granddaughter, was so uncomfortable it'll take some time to get her to agree to go back to get her nails done again! To add insult to injury, after all was said and done, we were overcharged (by $40!). The manicurists are good enough but management is awful! With so many salons in town... the employees should do themselves a favor and go someplace else. I know I will. Mod won't see another dollar of mine or my fams... I was really starting to love this salon until recently the past few times I've been, the techs have been in such a hurry to remove my gel that they've been overfiling to the point that now my nails are super thin and brittle. Tonight, I came in on a slow rainy night and instead of being appreciative for the business the woman who greeted me made a comment that I took a while to arrive, and then I was rushed out afterwards because the staff wanted to close the shop early. I was trying to let my nails dry for just a few minutes and the woman who did my nails said "excuse me, our ride is waiting outside" -- I when told her I wanted to wait a few minutes so that it didn't smudge, she was less than sympathetic and sure enough, I got a huge smudge on my index finger. I'm the type that would go back the next day (because I was rushed out, not bc I was careless) but they are closed on Sundays. C'est la vie. Setting is nice & I like the fact that you get hot pink lotion but the service & skill level is terrible. $15 for a basic manicure that look like a 5 yr old who painted with her left hand when she was right handed did.
