I came to Yonca only ever having got gel x or acrylics and after doing gel x with her a couple times was able to transition to structured manicures and grow my nails soooo long which I did not even think was possible for me Now having gone to a new nail tech since moving away they are still long and healthy and I have to completely thank Yonca for this - she COMPLETELY transformed my nails. Not only is she talented in her craft (seriously, the BEST) but as a person she couldn't be more sweet. I used to be someone who would go to my nail service and try to get through the time without speaking because I am not big on small talk. Yonca is so warm and inviting and I genuinely looked forward to our monthly visits where we got to yap and talk about her world travels or what books she was reading. All to say I have recommended Yonca to all my loved ones already, so I would DEFINITELY recommend her to a stranger. Yesterday I was there to treat myself for my birthday getting a mani-pedi (natural buffed fingernails and toe polish) with massage, and a shoulder massage. All three ladies who worked on me were wonderful. So kind. As they were all massaging me at the same time (heavenly) one woman said to me, "You feel like a princess, right?" Indeed I did! I then told them why I was treating myself and they all wished me happy birthday with big smiles on their faces. The owner, Anna, heard it and gave me a little gift. So very kind. Thank Anna and all the staff! One other thing I enjoy about this salon is that there is not a TV blaring like is found in other salons. Yesterday a scenic video was playing with relaxing music, which I appreciate because relaxation is what I'm after when I get my nails done.

They do not clean/sanitize the tools between clients or use clean tools from an enclave on each client. Their nail filing and polish application is not clean. My nails were left jagged and polish around my nail beds and on my fingers. They did wipe my nails with cotton and I believe alcohol. The cotton stuck to my nails because my nails were jagged. The pictures were taken after I filed my nails when I got home, so you are unable to see the jaggedness. Pedicure was done by a different person and seems fine. But again, did not use clean tools. Paid using Zelle and was asked to put "pizza" or "dinner". A bit questionable . I do not recommend, nor will I return. Pictures of mani in different lighting.

The detailed intake form that I received to request the first visit was really helpful because it asked for details like sensitivities, mobility challenges, specific body areas that have issue, etc. It put my mind at ease to just see those check box choices on the form, because clearly they are accustomed to the needs of a sensitive senior.
