I found Dara's Nail Studio on Instagram, and to my surprise, we're both Thai! From the moment I walked in, I felt so comfortable. Her studio is absolutely adorable--private, cozy, and such a relaxing space to unwind. Dara is incredibly talented, detail-oriented, and just an all-around sweetheart. If you're into all things astrology, spirituality, or a little "woo-woo," you'll feel right at home. Every appointment feels less like getting your nails done and more like spending time with one of your best friends who just happens to be amazing at nails. The conversation flows so naturally that the time flies by. And of course, the nails are beautiful every single time. She takes her time, pays attention to every detail, and genuinely cares about her work. I always leave so happy with my nails and can't wait for my next appointment. If you're looking for a talented nail artist with the best energy and a cute, private studio, I can't recommend Dara enough. Come for the nails, stay for the good vibes!
I have been seeing Dara for 3 years now and look forward to my appointments every month! She always does such a great job and I get so many compliments. I always love coming up with a design with her and we have so much fun chit chatting . Highly recommend Dara! My nails have never been able to grow and be as healthy as they are now that I have been seeing her.
The best nail artist studio in South Bay Los Angeles. I have been coming here for years! Dara and Jessica are both amazing artists, both artists have done level 3 artwork on my nails and every time it's so beautiful. Highly recommend working with either of them. They can do any fun custom work with gems and Japanese style nail art. The best studio located right near the Hermosa Beach pier.
Dara's been my nail artist for a few years now and I cannot go anywhere else! She has a very high standard for the quality of her work and designs. She's a bit of a perfectionist and super into the details and I'm always amazed at her creativity. Her studio space is in such a beautiful location and she's always great with communication.
I honestly can't say enough good things about Dara! She's been my nail tech for a while now, and every single appointment reminds me why I'll never go anywhere else. Not only is she incredibly talented and detail-oriented, but she's also one of the kindest and most flexible people I've met. I've always had really difficult nail beds, and before I found Dara, I could barely get my nails to last more than two to three weeks -- if I was lucky. Since going to her, my nails now last 4-5 weeks easily, and they still look amazing the entire time. She truly knows what she's doing and tailors everything to your nails so they stay strong and beautiful. What I love most is how she helped me grow my real nails when I honestly thought it was impossible. I used to think I'd be stuck with short, weak nails forever, but she completely changed that for me. Now my nails are healthy, long, and exactly how I've always wanted them. Dara is such a gem -- professional, creative, and just genuinely cares about her clients. If you're looking for someone who does incredible work and truly goes above and beyond, I couldn't recommend her enough.
Dara is INCREDIBLE! She is such a talented nail artist and I continue to be impressed by her work even though I've been coming to her for several years. I have brought her so many different ideas and inspirations and she has never told me there is something she couldn't do...even my silly geese nails (goose butt included!) like the photo attached. Not only is she skilled, but she is a great human being. Kind, hilarious, and truly passionate about her work and her clients. She's the best!
After 6+ years of being in the absolute best hands, moving away and having to leave Dara behind has been one of the hardest parts of relocating. She's not just a nail tech--she's a true artist, a perfectionist in the best way, and someone who genuinely cares about her clients. Every single appointment, she brought creativity, precision, and warmth. I always walked out with nails that turned heads and lasted weeks. Beyond the incredible quality of her work, what made her truly special was the connection we built over the years--our chats, the laughter, and her ability to make me feel instantly comfortable and seen. It's rare to find someone so talented and so kind. If you're lucky enough to book with her, treasure it. She's the best in the game, hands down. I miss her already!
Honestly, super let down. She's a great nail tech, but pretty unprofessional. I have been looking for a new nail girl for my pedicures, and I enjoyed it. However, it was extremely hard to book an appointment with her due to her not opening her books. My last two appointments were cancelled abruptly with no notice at all. She didn't contact me to let me know that she was no longer going to provide pedicures as part of the services she provides. I understand that as we grow we change, so moving and cancelling services is normal but doing it to clients without even a heads up is inconsiderate, disrespectful and makes me feel as if she never cared in the first place. I understand that things happen, and my condolences. My appointment for late May was never rescheduled, only cancelled. My appointment for June was never rescheduled just cancelled. It's not fair for you to say that you have reached out when you didn't. I have the messages as well, and you not once tried to reschedule those appointments. You didn't even let me know that pedicures wasn't a service you were going to be offering anymore. "Clients like me"? You're the one cancelling multiple appointments and taking services off, which is totally fine but you gave me no notice. I don't appreciate you lying about contacting me about my appointment from late May and the one I had in June. Things do happen, and you don't owe me an explanation-- but do NOT say you've reached out when you didn't. Thank you!
Dara is such a gem! I feel so lucky to have found someone who is both talented and trustworthy to work on my nails every few weeks for over 2 years. My nails will usually last up to 6 weeks without any issues. You can tell she has really dedicated her heart and soul into her craft. Before Dara, my nails were fragile and constantly breaking. Now, my natural nails have grown SO strong. I haven't had any breakage in months. Not only has she strengthened my nails, she also makes them look amazing! I get compliments on my nails all the time. She will really listen to you to make sure you are getting the design you want. Her private studio is extremely clean and always sanitized. There is also plenty of parking in the lot, so no need to worry about that. I've driven almost 2 hours just to see her. It's hard to find someone who can do what she does. If you are thinking about booking with Dara, just do it! Your nails are an investment in yourself and Dara is so worth it. Your future self will thank you. Wish I could give her 100 out of 5 stars.
Dara is the absolute best. When looking for an artist who prioritizes hygiene protocols, quality and consistency she is your girl. Not to mention her extreme artistic talent on top of it! My nails were absolutely destroyed from walk-in salons and frequent removal of gel-x that would only last 2-3 weeks before peeling but Dara's care completely transformed them. With structured gel they are not only GORGEOUS but also strong and last easily over a month every time. Her books are busy but at your appointment she goes above and beyond to schedule your next set. Thank you so much, Dara.
Dara has been on my radar for years as her work would often pop up on the Instagram of another nail salon I used to frequent. I finally got a chance to schedule with her at her last salon and haven't looked back for a year and a half. I will admit I got lucky with her move to Hermosa in terms of distance but I would continue to travel for her. Bonus for this location: a giant, free parking lot! She is extremely skilled when it comes to nail art (though she will do a great job if you're into something more simple too). She is constantly researching new techniques and trends and is always open to new challenges. On top of all this, she is a pleasure to hang out with for a couple of hours every several weeks. We have joked that we see each other more often than our actual friends (it's true). Your time is precious but it will be well spent booking with Dara. I get nonstop compliments thanks to her beautiful work. She's also now one of the few techs who does a dry pedi in the South Bay. Another big win. Run, don't walk, and up your nail game!
Book Dara! In addition to being incredibly talented at art, all her manicure appointments feel both friendly and professional. She goes above and beyond the average experience with both luxurious touches and friendly atmosphere. She has been great when we've communicated about scheduling issues and always worked with me to find time even if it's outside her typical hours. I live in LA and started seeing Dara when she was based in LA, but now I travel down to her because she's that great.
I started seeing Dara one year ago after admiring my friends nails for months and not achieving the same look at "regular" nail salons. Let me tell you why I will never let anyone else do my nails. -My regular nails now grow and do not break. -Cute nail design. -Dara treats me like family not a customer. -Dara is truly an artist. -I look down at my nails and smile! I can go on and on but I will let some pictures of my nails do the talking!

Dara is an amazing artist! She is so funny and so sweet to talk to! I leave every appointment excited to come back and get a new nail design She kills it every time and is so detailed with her work! I get sculpted gel nails over my natural nail bed. My natural nails have gotten so long and feel strong. This the first time I can go 5 + weeks in between appointments w no chipping or lifting. read more

I can't recommend Dara enough. She has been my nail tech for almost 2 years now. I'd never been one to consistently get my nails done, especially not gel manicures, but Dara changed that. I started off seeing her for an occasional pedicure (before she switched her focus to nail art) and was super impressed by her consistency and attention to detail. After getting to know her, I finally started seeing her for gel manis. Again, she was very precise and skillful. She gave me whatever shape I wanted and did an excellent job cleaning up my nail bed. I never experienced any chips or nicks in my polish. It easily lasted me four weeks before my nails were too grown out for my taste. I'm sure the polish would've stayed smooth for even longer though. Nowadays, I usually come to Dara for nail art, her specialty. Beyond making me look cute and always getting me compliments, getting nail art done by Dara is a fun and creative experience. She's truly passionate about nails and loves to make her clients happy. Whether you come in with your own ideas or want to ask her about the latest trends, she's always willing to do her best to make your vision a reality. This review wouldn't be complete without mentioning that Dara is simply a wholesome, funny human being with excellent taste. She will make you feel beautiful inside and out. read more

I love Dara, she's such a talented nail artist and her work speaks for itself! My friends/family/coworkers always eagerly wait to see what I got done for that month and I love getting to show them off! I've seen Dara for about a year and half and she is one of if not the best nail artists I've ever been to. First of all her shaping is perfection and takes the time necessary to prep your nail even before the painting beings. As far as her art, there is literally nothing she can't do--extremely detail oriented and of the highest quality. She is not only kind and fun, but a consummate professional who will make sure you get exactly what you want and are happy. She is very talented and creative and can mimic any design reference you show her, but also can help you come up with alternatives and/or ideas if you're looking. read more

To say Dara has changed my life is an understatement. I am a recovered nail biter as of the day Dara did my nails in August 2021. For proof I'm including the first manicure she did and the most recent one. The nail polish she uses and care she gives us unmatched. In addition she's a phenomenal nail artist... I've taken her pictures of what I want and comes back with immaculate precision looking way better than the photo. I highly recommend her work!! She's also kind and funny so the two plus hours go by fast. read more

Dara is a gem of a nail artist! I see her once a month for structured gel manicures, with nail art, and the results are fabulous every time. She is friendly, great at shaping, and excellent at detailed nail art! If you bring in a reference picture, she can usually execute it- AND, offer tips and tricks on how to make it even better! Her nail art is always classy and sophisticated. I get tons of compliments on my nails- people usually think they are extensions, but Dara helps keep them long and healthy! I've been getting gel manicures for a few years now, and it's worth it to become a client of Dara's!! read more

I have been going to Dara for quite some time now. I absolutely love it here! Dara, is so sweet and professional. She also shows great interest in getting to know her regular customers. Her place is clean and very cozy. My nails had been suffering after visiting a few nail salons, but they look and most importantly feel healthy and beautiful now. I always impressed by the care and attention to details I received. The manicure and pedicure are always relaxing and they last a long time. Dara is always creating a welcoming environment.
