Honestly, super let down. She's a great nail tech, but pretty unprofessional. I have been looking for a new nail girl for my pedicures, and I enjoyed it. However, it was extremely hard to book an appointment with her due to her not opening her books. My last two appointments were cancelled abruptly with no notice at all. She didn't contact me to let me know that she was no longer going to provide pedicures as part of the services she provides. I understand that as we grow we change, so moving and cancelling services is normal but doing it to clients without even a heads up is inconsiderate, disrespectful and makes me feel as if she never cared in the first place. I understand that things happen, and my condolences. My appointment for late May was never rescheduled, only cancelled. My appointment for June was never rescheduled just cancelled. It's not fair for you to say that you have reached out when you didn't. I have the messages as well, and you not once tried to reschedule those appointments. You didn't even let me know that pedicures wasn't a service you were going to be offering anymore. "Clients like me"? You're the one cancelling multiple appointments and taking services off, which is totally fine but you gave me no notice. I don't appreciate you lying about contacting me about my appointment from late May and the one I had in June. Dara has been on my radar for years as her work would often pop up on the Instagram of another nail salon I used to frequent. I finally got a chance to schedule with her at her last salon and haven't looked back for a year and a half. I will admit I got lucky with her move to Hermosa in terms of distance but I would continue to travel for her. Bonus for this location: a giant, free parking lot! She is extremely skilled when it comes to nail art (though she will do a great job if you're into something more simple too). She is constantly researching new techniques and trends and is always open to new challenges. On top of all this, she is a pleasure to hang out with for a couple of hours every several weeks. I started off seeing her for an occasional pedicure (before she switched her focus to nail art) and was super impressed by her consistency and attention to detail. After getting to know her, I finally started seeing her for gel manis. Again, she was very precise and skillful. She gave me whatever shape I wanted and did an excellent job cleaning up my nail bed. I never experienced any chips or nicks in my polish. It easily lasted me four weeks before my nails were too grown out for my taste. I'm sure the polish would've stayed smooth for even longer though. Nowadays, I usually come to Dara for nail art, her specialty. Beyond making me look cute and always getting me compliments, getting nail art done by Dara is a fun and creative experience.
