There is nothing better than asking for a gel manicure and truly GETTING a gel manicure. I'm so used to just polish and maybe a proper nail filing if I'm lucky; but Boy certainly took his time to get rid of my extra dead skin & leaving me feeling polished. I didn't get the name of the lady who did my gel pedicure but she did amazing. She took her time as well and somehow managed to make my toenails look super even although my big toe nail broke & was crooked. This establishment has an incredibly family friendly vibe. This was my first time going & I felt so welcomed. Not to mention I paid half of what I normally would for both services for any other place in the area. Highly recommend! The ABSOLUTE best nail salon I have ever been too! Katie the owner is an absolute angel and I LOVE her! She is so kind and accommodating, and makes sure that all my needs are always taken care of! I have very sensitive feet, I'm not ticklish or anything but the skin on my feet is just very thin so I am always scared to get a pedicure and oh my gosh, T is the BOMB! She is so sweet and kind and has never once hurt my toes and that is very important to me, I am allergic to gel polish and acrylic so I get a regular pedicure and I promise you when I say it is the best pedicure I have ever had in my life. I have never met someone who can apply regular polish so perfectly! I also enjoy chatting with her, and she genuinely takes the time to get to know her clients which is so nice! Natalie does my dip nails and they are always perfect! They probably have the largest collection of dip (SNS) powder that I have ever seen so I never feel I have to get the same color twice. Natalie is kind and very quick and concise which I LOVE! The shape of the nails are always on point, and my natural nails have become so long under her care! Katie always makes sure that they have the best of the best, and is constantly adding new colors or polish, dips and gels, the salon is VERY clean and tidy and always smells good. The floors are clean and the chairs are nice and the pedicure bowls are very pretty! The walls are all clean as well and each station for nails is always tidy. STAY AWAY. I live right up the street from this salon, and it should be my go-to for nails, but I consistently have had REALLY awful experiences. Especially relating to timing. The last time I was here, I had to wait OVER an hour for my scheduled appointment. I hadn't been back since, but my daughter wanted to get a manicure and pedicure as a treat after a long sports weekend. I've already realized that appointments mean nothing here, so I didn't even bother. I made sure to walk in with my daughter and explain what she needed - a regular pedicure and a gel manicure. The owner told me it would be "no problem". 2 HOURS LATER, she still did not have her nails done. They let her sit there alone. She said everyone ignored her and let all the "appointments" go before her. Even though the owner told me that she could do her nails! No one mentioned to me that they were so busy with appointments that she wouldn't be done until after 7pm. To ignore a young girl just because you can and because you know she won't say anything is unacceptable. I finally just had to go get her - she had homework and it was a school night. We will NEVER go back. There are SO many other great Hermosa nail salons where I have never had ANY issues. I'm not sure why scheduling is so difficult here. Just go down the street by Trader Joe's or anywhere on Hermosa Ave. They're all amazing. read more

I've been coming here every ~3 weeks for the last 6 months and could not be happier! BACK STORY: I've been getting gel manicures since college but noticed over time that my nails were getting really thin and brittle from the harsh removal process (i.e., soaking in acetone then scraping the gel off the nail bed). I tried acrylics on a whim one day a few years ago which DESTROYED my nails and I stopped getting manicures for about a year to let my nails heal. Before restarting the manicures, I researched a lot and decided to do dip manicures because they were supposedly healthier than gel... but I had no idea how to take care of my dip nails and would get my dip nails redone (i.e., taken off then reapplied) every single time which left my nails battered once more and left me thinking that dip wasn't much different from gel. Fast forward to last year and I'm back to doing gel manicures again which is taking its toll on my nails (tale as old as time). I go to a different nail salon near my parents' for some holiday nails and they specialize in "dip with gel." I've never heard of this before and inquire... and basically they put dip powder over your nail bed, put gel OVER that dip powder, and then every time you come in, they just take the gel (that's over the dip powder) off and then put a fresh coat of gel over the dip powder again, which leaves your nail bed intact. GUYS........ THIS WORKS!!!! My original dip from the holiday season lasted 5 months (!!!) and that entire time, I came here every ~2.5-3 weeks for a "dip fill w/ gel" which consists of: - Taking off any gel that's been applied over the dip powder - Fixing any lifting in the dip powder - Filling in the nail that had grown with more dip powder - Applying new gel over the dip fill I usually call for an appointment same day and they can usually squeeze me in that afternoon, but best bet is to make an appointment in advance (I should probably be doing that) since there are only two people who can do dip: Katie (the owner, she's really fast) and Natalie (so so soooo sweet, she's super meticulous)! PARKING: Super small parking lot in front of the store that's shared with a few other places, free street parking on PCH otherwise. I've been able to park in their lot ~50-75% of the time. read more

I was looking for a new nail salon and was very encouraged by the reviews. My experience was disappointing. Both mani and pedi nipped my skin. I expect them to be sufficiently experienced that this wouldn't happen. After the first round of polish on my fingers, there were two nails where the polish was quite far from the cuticle, as though the nail had grown out. When I got home I realized that many fingers had polish around them and hadn't been cleaned. And they didn't remove the dead skin around the nail, of which I have a fair amount. I have been coming to this Hermosa Beach salon for 3 years, and it's even better today than it was before. The owner, Katie, is so personable and cares so much about both long-time clients and newbies. She is an excellent manicurist, and does outstanding work with acrylic, powder, gel, and airbrushing. She's the BEST! Tran and Le are fantastic pedicurists, and they take care of my tired feet and toes with such care. They are excellent with any of their pedicure packages, especially callous remover and hot stone massage. I absolutely love their massage chairs, and wish I had one at home! Parking is advisable in the lot or on 5th. Like any salon, prices increased slightly with inflation. But you can get a gel fill mani and pedi with gel for about $100, which is still a great price. read more

I called in to set up an appt for a mani/pedi and they had one available for a Friday morning. Came in and The staff were friendly. I noticed that most of the staff know their customers very well. It was a good vibe. I love that they have a lot of options for gel color. They were very detailed in cleaning and applying my nail colors. I live in Redondo Beach and have been going to get my nails done in Culver City. I've been wanting to find somewhere closer and am SO happy I found this place! Dream Nails was clean, not too crowded, and had lots of colors to pick from. Everyone working there was extremely friendly and helpful. They were gentle and took their time to make sure everything looked good. Only indoor mani pedis are available. They space customers out so you're not sitting next to a stranger. We made appointments for 3 pedicures on a Sunday afternoon and I was pleasantly surprised that they were ready for us with the chairs next to each other. The woman doing my pedicure was nice but it just wasn't that great. I paid $60 for a gel pedicure with hot stone massage, she didn't really massage any of the muscles on my leg or foot so it just felt kinda interesting to have my foot and leg get a sloppy hand job while she was just looking around the room. Made me actually giggle to myself because it just seemed silly. Not worth the extra money. 6/10 toes have either too much gel or she didn't let it cure because there are pockets, like what I showed in the photo.
