Do not get your pedicures done by Linda. The last time I was there I asked her to clean around my toe cuticles which should be automatic. She screamed at me as loud as she could and told me she was old and could not see. First off I told her to never talk to me like that again or scream at me. One day she's gonna scream at the wrong person. She got the right one today. Even after I asked her to clean it she kept just filing. I had to grab the utensil and clean it myself. Can you believe this? When I point out something she missed she will say later, later, but she will not do it later and then when you bring it to her attention later because she refuses to do it, she gets mad. She does 3d, gel, acrylics, waxing permeant makeup, eyelash extensions, hair extensions etc. She's very friendly and works fast. Tina is very helpful and knows alot about nail care. If you don't get gel nails, The best people to get to do your acrylics here is Sye or Julie, when I get acrylic I only let Sye, hes AMAZING with nails!! hes kind of slow, but trust me, your nails are gonna be the perfect shape!! I'll never go back to a regular manicure! I actually stopped getting them years ago because there was no point since they chipped by the next day and never got healthier anyways. I got bored with my clear polished nails and started doing them on my own and I learned that I just don't have a "green thumb" when it comes to my nails and they got really damaged. So I started researching manicurists in my area and found Tina! Tina is the best! I've never had such a great experience getting a mani ever before! She starts at $15 and goes up to $27. Designs are $2 a nail. Once you get gel nails, its $5 to remove or she'll teach you how to do it so you can remove them beforehand. As far as the mani, she explains what she's going to do, then explains step by step what she's actually doing. Drying time is a breeze and you don't have to worry about smudging at all! Tina has great conversation and is really down to earth, which makes the experience that much better. She really takes the time to get to know her clients and is very thorough. *Booking* Be careful booking and make sure you stay on top of confirmations and setting appointments. She has plenty of clients waiting in the wings to take your appointment, so if you slip, then you might lose your appt. Tina texts! So no need to go through any third parties or calling a gazllion numbers to reach her. If you don't get a confirmation text the morning before your next day appt, call Tina to confirm otherwise you'll lose your spot. Not to make it seem like she forgot to text, she didn't. Most likely there is something wrong with the messaging. She also texts and the week hours of the night too. Don't be afraid to text thinking its too early or too late. She doesn't mind at all. Gel Nails are awesome! Tina also takes you out of your comfort zone, so be prepared for that. She listens to you and can tell what type of person you are and what you like. I came in not realizing that all of these great reviews are for Tina, and only her. I got gel nails for the first time, as I usually get acrylic nails. The woman had each nail at uneven lengths and even used the mechanical buffer, making my cuticles bleed on a couple fingers. Some of the corners still had gel build up that she didn't file down. However, for the price, I decided that I should just deal with it. About five days later, I noticed that the top coat part started to raise/peel, and now some of nails are chipped. Not pleased. Next time, I'll definitely make sure to make an appointment with Tina. read more

This was the worst experience I have ever had at a nail salon. The people were extremely rude and acted like they were doing me a favor when I am paying for a service. I got my nails done three days before and one popped off so I went back to get it repaired. They had me wait 30 minutes took two people who showed up after me and then acted annoyed that I needed to get it repaired when they did an awful job to begin with. Then they told me they do not take card when they took card three days ago so I had to pay $3.50 to pull out cash when my nail repair was $5, and it should have been done for free because I literally got them done three days ago. Pretty nails are exactly what to describe what my hands and feet look like! I am giving birth to my babygirl in less than a week and I wanted something very girly and cute and most importantly neat. I don't live in the area but my cousin recommended the place to me, where I'm from everything is expensive so it was worth the drive. Sy did my nails he did an excellent job and took his time. Ive been a loyal customer at this place for over 10 years & unfortunatley i will no longer be a customer due to the fact that they have the worst customer service and zero respect for peoples time. Julie, the owner is the one who makes the appointments for everyone. This will be about the 5th time she completley disregards my appointment and takes someone 5-10 minutes before my appointment time. I do not live close (20 min drive) and work 5 days a week 10 hour shifts so i make an appointment for a damn good reason, but to Julie that does not matter. As for me, I have a gel full set and needed a fill. I asked them repeatedly if they have gel powder because I don't have acrylics. The lady said ok, and wrote out a list of charges that came out to $33. I was confused af. So then she tells me to go to a man to do my nails and as I think I'm getting my fill, I slowly realize that they are just trying to take off all my gel and put acrylic on top. I stopped the man and asked if him if that was acrylic powder and he said it was. I told him I wanted gel and he starts talking to the lady in their language. She comes back and says, "We don't have gel. Why don't you just get acrylic? It's cheaper." -- That really annoyed me. I clearly asked if they had Gel powder because my nails aren't regular acrylic and she said yes. So then, I ask if they can just put a clear color on my nails so I can leave since my nails are shit now. The man does that and then not even tells me to dry my fingers but to leave. Then he goes and says,"Why don't you get your nails done where you got them from?" Now THAT shit pissed me off. More than my nails being fucked up in the first place. --- Also, this place is dingy as hell. I'm not used to this so sorry if I sound ignorant. I like to know that clean tools are being used on me. Words cannot express my disappointment. -Waited over an hour and a half to get a mani/pedi. -Nails were not cut & filed evenly. -They used a machine buffer on my nails, even though I wasn't getting acrylics. -Ripped my cuticle....it bled. -I had to walk across the room with wet feet to switch seats..... -Did not use SPF on my hands prior to shoving them in the UV dryer. -The polish shade on my left hand was lighter than the polish on my right. -Some nails were still jagged after the polish was set. -I had to set the drying time on the UV dryer because the manicurist was no where to be found. -Too many ratchets for one establishment...bitch don't nobody care about how you want some ribs. shut yo ass up. Based on these reviews, I really wanted to set up an appointment with Tina. She informed me that she was booked straight for the next month! It was kinda urgent/ last minute, being right before the holidays and this was the only place open until 8pm. I was forced to settle with whoever was available at this salon. Biggest mistake EVER. The worst gel nails I can remember. She painted on my cuticles, the polish was uneven, I noticed she put it significantly thicker on my right hand than my left hand, and did a terrible filing job. I'm sure this Tina girl is great, but I can't vouch for anyone that actually works at this salon. Definitely going to plan my time better next time so I wont be scrambling for a last minute manicure @ random salons, lesson learned. read more

I came to the salon based on the reviews for Tina. After wearing acrylics for years, my nails are extremely thin and brittle. I like to get gel nails since regular polish chips after a couple of days. When I came in for my appointment, Tina was amazing. She talked me through every step of the process and told me what she was doing and why. She is not there to slap some polish on and send you on your way, she's really into caring for the nails and making sure they're healthy right down to teaching you how to apply cuticle oil properly and how to remove gel polish at home. Tina has a huuugggeee selection of designs and color combinations which is hard to find at most places. I'm extremely indecisive and took forever to decide on a color but she was patient with me and even tested out a color to make sure I liked it, which I didn't so we chose another. A lot of nail techs would get a major attitude if this happened so I was very happy that Tina wasn't like that! I also love that she makes you step outside of the box when it comes to getting your same boring colors! I picked a color that I never would have and loved it. My nails have never lasted as long as they did this time...3 WEEKS! I only removed the gel because I was going out and it didn't match my outfit well. Oh, one of the most important parts, there is no double-booking! We all have things to do and dread waiting when we had an appointment for a specific time. Tina books her appointments based on the services you choose! There is no one in your seat when you get there and no one breathing down your neck when their appointment time has come and yours is still going. This means she's not rushing to get you outta there! I don't think I can let anyone else do my nails after this experience. Can't wait until they grow out nice and healthy, and they'll look even more amazing...if possible. Happy camper here! read more

Ok to begin I came here cause a friend recommended that I come here to get uv gel nails. I am a HUGE fan of gel nails because I have extremely short nails and regular nail polish chips 2 seconds after I get them done. So I dnt mind paying an extra 5-10 bucks to get the gel nails cause they last sooo much longer. PN isn't a fancy nail salon they are pretty raw located on Prairie so I mean it's typical in comparison to the other shops in the area. What I didn't like: They charged extra $5 bucks to use a pumice stone on my feet -_- I thought that was standard with Pedicures but I guess I needed some special heavy duty $5 worth of pumicing. I think I had Sy (kinda flamboyant man) and he took forever! About 45-1hr on my nails alone so plan accordingly What I did like: The actual final product was nice. I loved my nails they are so great. Healthy and strong. No chips or cracks. They charged manicure and uv nails separate when I thought it would have been all one price. So it came out to 20 bucks for my nails... that isn't bad at all. Altogether I paid $35. (10 for a pedicure and 5 for the pumice stone. CASH ONLY) Next time I will try Tina since EVERYONE seems to love her. Sy gets an A-OK! Slow but nice nails. A lil chatty. Just had gel nails done by Tina Tran and they look absolutely amazing! I seriously think I have found my HG nail tech :) She took the time to explain every step of the process and was incredibly knowledgeable and informative. She gives you a little goody bag with a buffer and file that you're supposed to bring with you to your appointments because she is big on being hygienic :) All of her instruments are sterilized by her fiancé/ hubby at the SD Hospital so you know her tools and equipment are super clean. She informed me of the best way to maintain and care for my nails based on their condition. I looove the way my nails look; they are so beautifully shaped and even :) She has done wonders for my nails, and I'm excited to have her help growing them and keeping them healthy. Long overdue post. I was recommended here by an aunt and by yelp but boy was my experience different. Long story short, I brought my mom and as a birthday gift to get a pedicure and she ended up at the doctors two days later with a chronic fungal/bacterial infection on her left foot. She was on heavy antibiotics for 30 days and ended up having her toenails fall off. This was all due to the uncleanness of this nail shop and the lack of using gloves and cleaning the tubs and instruments used. Don't risk saving a few dollars for very unsanitary instruments and working environment. I will never step in here ever again. Every time I go to get my nails done (rare, if ever) I make sure they sterilize their instruments or bring my own. Come at your own discretion. read more

I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE Pretty Nails. Tina is the best manicurist that I have ever had. Not only is she very creative and talented with designs, she is extremely knowledgeable about nail health and will have your nails healthy and growing like weeds in no time. I have been to other places where they rush you in and out with your cuticles sore, cotton fibers in your polish that is all over your cuticles and has bubbles in it. Tina is totally different and you can tell that she really cares about her craft and the product and service that she provides. When I first went to Tina, my nails were peeling, breaking, cracking and very short. Now, they are growing, healthy and I get compliments on them ALL of the time. I get the gel nails and they have lasted (with no chips or peeling) for over a month. I will never go anywhere else. This place is definitely hit or miss. Like most hood joints, you have to get buzzed in. It's not the cleanest nail shop but not the dirtiest I've ever been to. I have never gotten a pedicure there, but plenty people stop by for a great deal on a pedi. I only go for the acrylic nails and have never had Tina work on my nails. The place is cash only and the prices are as cheap as they come. Here's what you can do to to have a pleasant experience. 1) acryclic nails? Ask for Julie. If you don't, you will likely be disappointed in a big way. I have left with a horrendous nail job from someone else, so much that Julie had to fix it. Which brings me to my next point... 2) know exactly what you want and don't be afraid to say it. If you notice something wrong, say something! If you don't like the length or shape or density of your nails, say so. They are not mind readers. 3) Bring your own nail polish-selection is not great 4) tip well-Julie remembers it and will take care of you next time 5) leave your kids at home. Too many ladies that have been in there have had their polish redone because they had to fix something for their kid or whatever. I came here because my "regular place" closed early on a Saturday evening when I got off work (it was 6:20 when I arrived). They took me at 6:30 no problem - pretty nails is open until 8pm! I came in and asked if they were closed or if they would take me - they said, "yes no problem!" My boyfriend was with me to get a pedicure, and they also had someone who was able to do his pedicure. The owner took care of me - Mae? He told me he has had the shop for 30 years! It's not the cleanest place at the end of the day, but the work was phenomenal for the price ($28 for gel/fill)! He spent an hour on my nails, and repaired and shaped them better than I have had in years! He made sure to seal all of the edges so there would be no peeling and separation from the acrylic - really thin and nice work. Not bulky and fake looking. They overcharged me yesterday for a fill, talking bout some $28 dollars.....and I said for what?! Talking bout a fill is $18 but on there menu in the salon it says $12?? I have mixed feelings about Pretty Nails. Love the service, find the pricing very odd. I grew up in this neighborhood and am home for my high school reunion. I was excited to see such rave reviews about a salon in my hood. Sy did my gel manicure and while he was slow (as someone else said) this is because he is a perfectionist. i have very short nails and he managed to make them look lovely. What I was thrown off by was the price. I was told before I sat down that a gel "manicure" is $15. I wasn't told that to get a basic manicure (on top of the gel nail polish) is an additional $7. I did not appreciate learning that at the end of my experience. Lisa did my pedicure. When she was done cleaning up my nails, she asked me if i wanted her to buff my soles. I thought this was odd as this is part of a normal pedicure experience. She told me it was $5 extra to do this. I agreed, but again, thought this odd. Lisa was very nice and did a nice job cleaning up my feet. I was surprised that she did not use a base coat for my polish or a top coat. I hope it doesn't chip tomorrow morning. All in all, I was pleased with most of my service. I'm not protesting the price, but rather how they present their prices. I would have happily paid Sy and Lisa, but I would have liked to see a sign with prices or have been told before my mani/pedi that services which are standard at every other salon is an "extra" at Pretty Nails. read more

So my younger sister wanted to get her nails done, as a birthday gift I told her it would be on me. I asked this indecisive 15 year old where it was she would like to go and she said "I don't know somewhere cheap or in Inglewood, they do the best nails there" I laughed at first because i usually just go to the mall, but I knew if we did that it would be over 100 dollars for what we planned to get. So I took out my iPhone and began to search, I stumbled upon pretty nails because the reviews were great and I liked the images of what previous woman had gotten done plus they were open late. We headed there from Torrance around 7:15 and arrived around 7:30. The shop was crowded to my surprise but we didn't have to wait long. They began to do my sisters nails first and while they did that another lady waxed her eyebrows! Talk about killin' 2 birds with one stone :) the staff was friendly and quick, we were out in about an hour. It was also my first time getting stiletto nails (I'm honestly not a huge fan of acrylic nails I'm 21 and have probably only had them about 6 times in my life) but they're super cute and not ridiculously long! I was skeptic at first though because I ended up getting my nails done by the male in the shop, but he was the best one there I think!! They had him do all of mine and my sister designs. I was very happy with this place and plan on going here mor often. Keep up the good work guys! With gel nails, you can keep your nails looking awesome for up to 3 weeks. Sometimes I even keep them for a month. When I found out how cheap Tina does it for...I was hooked! My co-workers are always wanting to see what nail color I have chosen each month. Tina is pretty meticulous with nails. She shapes them, files them, buffs them, and pushes back the cuticles before applying the gel nails. My co-worker has mentioned to me that some people will just place gel nails without giving you a manicure first. That's awful! Her prices are great! They start off at 15 and goes up depending on color blends and designs. I've seen other nail shop charge 35-40.. I was going to give four stars (because I the quality of the salon), but I'm giving five (because of the quality of the staff!). Sy did my nails and YES it took him a while. Dude is a perfectionist! The salon itself is run-down (tears in the furniture, missing ceiling tile, questionable carpet), but they do a great job on your nails! Customer service doesn't begin when there's a problem, it begins as soon as I walk and and am greeted with a smile! These ladies (and gents) seem generally happy to do your nails. They were friendly with every person that walked in. Lisa did my pedicure and she's a totally sweetheart! read more
