I had a disappointing experience with Niurka. I came in originally for a root bleach. The stylist told me my hair was too weak for additional bleach, so I change my decision and showed a clear photo of exactly what I wanted to avoid additional bleach. She never explained that the result would look completely different from the photo. I ended up with something nothing like what I asked for and still paid $150 for it. When I expressed my concerns, she said it was "pretty," but that doesn't change that it wasn't what I requested. She offered for me to come back, but after this experience, the trust isn't there. She also required me to pay through Venmo as a Friends payment even though this was a business service, which leaves customers without any protection. If this happens to you, you can report it directly to Venmo, and you can submit concerns about improper business practices through the IRS's public tip form.(IRS Form 3949-A -- Information Referral) Based on my experience, I wouldn't return. read more

I had a baleyage done with Anais. I was very stressed out about trying a new hairstylist, but she was very professional and kind, and she gave me the best hair color that I've ever had. I was afraid of any breakage, but my hair looked even healthier after she was done with it. She was very patient and caring and she also gave me a free hair mask which was very kind of her. I've lived in San Diego for about three years now and have struggled to find a good hairstylist because my hairstylist back home has been cutting/styling my hair for over 20 years now. Regina does a wonderful job on color and uses organic, non-alergic hair color products that are great for people with sesitive skin and who can't use conventional hair color. Heidi is amazing. I just relocated here from Hawaii and have to get my grey hair colored about every month. She was able to not only perfectly match my color from my previous stylist on our first visit, she corrected some of the root coloring and improved it with highlights ( not easy because my hair easily turns brassy). She was also able to give me a haircut that upgraded my "Island look" and I am able to walk out the door looking well groomed and professional with minimal styling. Heidi's color services, cuts, straightening treatments, and blow outs are all fantastic. She does an excellent job, and I've always been very happy with my services. I came to this salon from a purchase through Living Social for a Brazilian Blowout. I paid $100 for services through Nikki. When I got to the appointment I found out that she did not use the Brazilian Blowout product. After trying other products, Brazilian Blowout is the only one that works for my hair. I specifically only looked for offers naming Brazilian Blowout. So her offer was a misrepresentation of her services. She told me she could do it using a product I never heard of and I never saw the actual bottle or name of what she used. My hair looked fine after the treatment but by the second hair washing, there was no product on my hair. I called Nikki and told her I needed to get something done because I paid for a Brazilian Blowout and did not get what I paid for. She gave me an appointment for 2 weeks later to 'fix' the problem and then did not show up for that appointment. Moral of the story...don't go here if you want a REAL Brazilian Blowout that works. read more
