I want to complain about my visit to the nail salon. The manicure I got was really poorly done. After just two days, there was already a noticeable gap between the polish and my nail bed, and the color looked thick and awful, as if it had been done ten days ago instead of two When I went back to have it fixed, the manager, who had done my nails, was extremely rude and spoke loudly. I tried to speak to her calmly, but she was very loud and disrespectful While she was working on my nails, they were burning, and when I mentioned it she snapped at me and asked if I wanted someone else to do it. I agreed, and the second technician was fantastic and did a great job. However, when I asked to change the color, they told me l would have to pay an additional $30, even though I had already paid $70. I decided not to go ahead with the color change and left the salon. First time back in a while and Hannah was amazing! Her attention to detail and the massage were really nice.

It was okay, unfortunately I'm not going back. They don't seem too friendly to new customers. Immediately when I walked in, all the staff just stared at me and paused for moment before one lady asked "how can we help you?" I noticed all the other customers that came after me were repeat customers and the staff were much friendly to them, asking how they were and if they wanted something to drink. I got my nails done on a Friday. The following Monday I already had several chips. I even noticed while I was washing my hair that some hair strands got stuck underneath the polish on one nail, so the polish is lifting after an absurdly short time. I'm not going to take the time out of my day to drive back to get it fixed. I got a fill and it took 1.5 hours. read more

I had an experience at this nail salon last month that has left me feeling uneasy and I felt compelled to share my observations. Although the salon itself is quite clean and the nail artistry on my 50 year old nails nice, I encountered a situation related to communication that diminished the overall quality of my experience. As a male this is my 2nd visit in 5 years. While there I noticed the technicians often conversing among themselves in Vietnamese, a language I do not understand. I respect that everyone has the right to speak in their native language, but the persistent and exclusive nature of their conversation made me feel left out and somewhat uncomfortable in a setting where I should have been able to relax. Being a fan of Seinfeld, I was reminded of the episode where Elaine felt humiliated in a similar situation at a nail salon. So, if they will not speak my language, I will try and understand Vietnamese. I decided to use Google Translate and a strategically located. iPhone to get a sense of the conversation taking place. While I acknowledge that Google Translate may not provide a completely accurate translation, some of the deciphered conversation seemed inappropriate and somewhat insulting for a professional setting. Granted my toenails are not a beautiful site to look at, but try whispering in another language than Vietnamese if you don't want me to hear. This situation made me feel as though my privacy and comfort as a customer were not respected. In a service industry, especially one as personal and intimate as a nail salon, it's crucial to create an environment where customers feel included and valued. In my opinion, ensuring that client-facing conversations are conducted primarily in a language that the client understands, or at least providing a summary of the conversation when relevant, would go a long way in maintaining this atmosphere. I hope this feedback is received in the constructive spirit in which it's intended. I believe that with a more mindful approach to communication and customer comfort, this salon has the potential to provide an outstanding overall experience. My nails look great and I'll set a reminder in three years and see if things changed Remember, this is only my experience my translation and my perception, and others might have had different experiences. I made an appointment and it was confirmed, came in five minutes before the appointment for a manicure and they said I would have to wait a little because the lady wasn't there yet. After waiting a little over thirty minutes, and another client coming in and them starting her manicure, I asked how much longer. They told me I should make an appointment (I had made an appointment for this service AND it was confirmed) and come back later. I've had a lot of bad service at nail salons and this takes the cake. I was there around 45 minutes and left with nothing. First time there. So no idea how they actually are on doing nails. read more

1. For the prices they charge, they do not do quality work. My gel polish manicure began to chip after 7 days and the polish is "floating" near my cuticles. This is the first time in my life a gel polish manicure has lasted less than 14 days. There has been no alteration to my lifestyle (no new chemicals or harsh conditions) so it's poor work as far as proper drying time or the technique used to polish. I asked if they could file it down and paint over. They suggest that I pay for an entirely new gel polish manicure which is around $47. I went to a different salon and they said I only needed a nail polish change and quoted me $33. 2. Depends on the time but it's not a "spa" experience. Bright neon lights, tvs with news stations and a lot of ambient noise. If you want a quick in and out and are okay fixing your nails frequently (and paying them to correct sloppy work) this might be a better match for you. 3. I loathe to have to correct the manicurist but she was going to let me walk out with my feet busted and letting me pay for a callus removal she didn't do. I had to say, "what happened to the callus removal"... I think the staff is pleasant here but I also have the impression that because they work off of tips, they want to charge you for as many services as possible and get you in and out of the door as fast as possible. If the prices were lower, it would make sense. I will be taking my business elsewhere. read more

As a weekend walk in, you can only expect so much. They took me after just a few minutes but i felt they didn't really have time for me. The ladies were very sweet and funny. I was sat at a table with a dirty towel (you could see someone else's fingernail clippings). They did nothing for my cuticles despite pointing out how ragged they were lol. My first time here and I'm pretty disappointed... the lady doing my nail accidentally cut my cuticle to the point where it started bleeding! I pointed it out to her and she did apologize but then followed it with how "it's because my skin is too thin". I don't think this is the most professional way to handle this and to make an excuse saying it's my fault that my skin is "thin" so it started bleeding. I've never experienced this at any other salons I've been to. She also continued along painting my nails without even wiping away the blood or having me wash my hands etc. The blood just stayed there and dried up... After I went up to pay, the lady at the counter handed me the pen and it accidentally poked me in the nail so it left a mark. I'm giving this place 2 stars instead of 1 because she did offer to redo that nail... HOWEVER as you can see from the pictures, it did not turn out well and it honestly actually was worse once she removed everything and redid it. It was extremely uneven and she did not polish the sides. Overall I would not recommend this place after my experience today. Overall relaxing vibe and had on some good ol' food network and HGTV for your entertainment. It was a little quiet when I went but precautions such as masks, plastic dividers and gloves were always used. I went in for a gel manicure and had 4 different colors as well as a design and it was $50 with a previous gel removal. Came here as a walk in on a Saturday morning for a mani pedi and was seen immediately! I got a deluxe pedicure and full set of acrylics to pamper myself after a long two months and nothing was pushed on me at all. Overall a job well done and I will definitely return for my fill :) I had Tracy as my manicurist, she did a fantastic job and was open to specifications as to what I wanted and made all the changes I asked for. She did cut my finger a little when she was filing my nail bed down so it really burned when she was wiping my nails with the alcohol, but that's the only criticism I have of this place. I can't remember the name of lady who did my pedicure but the massage felt nice and soothing. Except the mixture of the scrub and purple lotion(?) gave off a sour scent and it was a tad offputting. The one bad experience the paint job on hands wasn't so great and nails a little uneven, but still good experience. All the women have been very welcoming every time. When you wait they all say sorry for waiting and thank you for your patience. The fact that they acknowledge this I think puts them above many nail salons I've been too; GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE! Even when I had to wait the lady running the front kept telling me she was working on getting me a seat. They don't forget about you. They use a pack of sterilized tools with each and every client. My technician, Yvonne, did a wonderful job. Just stopped by Glamour Nails for a pedicure. I had an hour or so to kill between jobs in the area and this was the closest nail salon so I decided to give it a try. I arrived at 3:30 on a Monday afternoon and was quickly seated in a comfortable pedicure chair with an easy to manage remote control (I swear some of the salon remotes look as complicated as a modern tv remote). The massage chair had a nice rolling motion that my back greatly enjoyed and needed. My pedicurist was nice and quiet, just the way I like it, so that I can sit back and enjoy my magazines in peace. This is my one chance a month to really catch up on celebrity gossip! After cutting and filing my nails and a quick buff of my feet, she gave me a nice hot oil leg and foot massage. Then started working on my French tip. Everything ended up looking nice! Total came to $27 for a basic pedicure. I could get a cheaper one if I wanted to drive to Clairemont or PB but I figure the few extra dollars would have just been spent on gas then. So all in all, I'd come back. read more

This is such a bad place to do your nails. But the worse is the treatment to their clients. I won't ever return. The first time I came to this place it was 4 days after moving from Spain. I came with my nails done in my hometown in Spain, for my little wedding ceremony here in San Diego. I messed up my nails during the flight and so decided to go to the closest place of my new home since my wedding was 2 days later. The woman who was doing my nails was pretty... ¿annoying?, I cannot find a word in english for this, in spanish it would be "BORDE". I told her since the very beginning to please take lots of care since it would be for my wedding 2 days later. She didn't care. At all. I'll explain why with details: She cut off the nails in differents shapes, some more straights, other more in diagonal, and when she was filing them it was even worse. I had to tell her to please make them the same size and shape. And whenever she was doing it I had told her again "Could you please fix some of them? Still doesn't look all the same. Specially this one looks pretty diagonal". Her answer was "I cannot do anything, it's your kind of nail". I told her that it is, because I have done that before. She was said that she couldn't do that, and gave me an evil look. So I filed and fixed by myself. Then the white line of the french manicure wasn't accurate, there was many nails with missing spots. Of course I told her, and her look was pretty evil to me (again!). Once she started putting the transparent nail polish many bubbles where all around, and dust (or something else) started to stick into my nails. I had to keep telling her all these stuffs, and every time she was more and more annoyed by me. At some point the conversation it was Me: "Can you please take a look here? Is full of some stuffs and bubbles", She "Now?", Me "No, not yet, still looks bad", She "NOW?!", Me "Not, still is bad, but whatever". Of course I didn't want my nails with bubbles nor sticky things since I would have pictures of my hands with our rings on!! So I guess at some point she was that annoyed by me, for telling here all the times all these things instead of just shut up, that she just didn't care at all to mess my nails for me wedding day. After all. I returned again few weeks ago. I just thought "Come one Sonia, maybe that woman had a bad day, let's give them another opportunity". Same thing. So this time I just spoke once, and as soon as I started to have that evil look I just shut up and won't return anymore. But definitely the first time I was very very mad, since it was for one of the most important days of my life. Thankgod I will do the reception in Spain and I will do the nails in a place that I truly trust. read more

I am almost in tears writing this review. This was my first time here and as a recommendation from my mom and sister who frequent this place and rave about it! I went in today on my only day off for a spa pedicure and some acrylics with a nude color. The only good part about this was my spa pedicure, the lady who did my toes was amazing and did a beautiful job. The man who did my nails however was not as wonderful. I asked for VERY short square nails and even when I asked for shorter he got upset with me and said "SHORTER??? They're already very short...". I like my nails very short as I am in the food service industry and they break very easily. As he continued and I kept looking at them they were still way too long for my liking so I asked for them even shorter and he got even more upset and told me next time I need to ask before hand..... well I tried but he got so insulting I decided to stop speaking up about what I like on MY nails that I have to live with for the next few weeks until these horrid things break or fall off. So that's just the shape..... they were still way too long and rounded corners when I left but I filed them down over half the length to just g the through the week. Next, he only painted 3/4 of my nails! They all have the sides not painted! Pictured for evidence... he also mentioned many times how "thin" he put on the gel.... it is so thick I already have rather large nails as it is I do not need the thickest gel ever making them even bigger!!! I am so upset I just paid $88 (after tip) for these services and left so angry even my mom and sister who come here often couldn't believe upon seeing them that this atrocious work was done at a place they love so much and come to so often. -------------------- UPDATE: The owner contacted me to come in and they would redo my nails for free. Went back today and surprisingly got the lady who did my toes the other day! Nickie! She was such a treat once again. She made my nails look GORGEOUS! And was also very quick and efficient!
