Came in with an inspo pic and suggested doing Gel-X with gel polish on top. The man recommended dip powder instead, and since he's the professional, I agreed. After sitting for an hour plus, I was really disappointed with the results. The nails looked chunky and uneven and not at all what I had envisioned. I voiced my concerns, and we ended up removing the design. It's frustrating because I originally suggested Gel-X, which would've avoided this issue in the first place. I ended up paying $55 for my nails to look like this. Overall, not a satisfying experience. Completely frustrating. read more

overall this place was not bad, I needed a place that took walk ins and they quickly took me in. I got my toes and nails done in an hour which I thought was great! My nails came out cute, but it seemed a bit pricey. Honestly my pedicure was a little painful. She accidentally pinched some of my skin when cutting and they're overall just a little serious there. Not a fun nail appointment and would not have a fun girls day here. Overall I'm fine w my experience there. I would recommend to someone if they're looking for a quick walk in. read more

I was visiting San Diego, and decided to try Angel nails. I had a manicure and pedicure. It was almost $100 with the tip, which is a little more expensive than my favorite place in San Francisco, but it would've been a good review if I was satisfied. Alas Helen didn't have a gentle touch, and there were a few times it was painful ( something I had never experienced before), and 2 days later my manicure was cracked and peeling. My guess is the OPI polish was past its prime. read more

I've been here a few times and they always do such quality work. I don't specify who I want for a pedicure, but the three people I've had so far have all done a great job. They give very thorough massages, which is my favorite part, and they definitely don't rush the process. As for my sets, Cindy is the nail artist of my dreams. She does such great work! I wanted to do a marbled/amethyst crystal type of look with gold flakes, and when I asked if she could do it, she said she would try. She did more than just try, she exceeded my expectations! Also, I appreciate how cleaning the cuticles is part of a full set/fill, because I know a lot of places don't do that extra step of nail care (unless you ask). Just make sure you make an appointment with her because she is in popular demand. read more

This review is in regards to my recent visit. I am a regular that gets my nails done at this establishment every two weeks. During this most recent visit, I asked for a nude brown color with a holographic effect on top of the color. If you have ever gotten holographic nails before you know that the initial paint color changes once you place the holographic effect on top of it. After painting my nails bright orange red with gel polish, the technician stated that the color would change to the color I requested, nude light brown. After she placed the holographic effect on my nails, it was evident that the color was not going to change. My nail color stayed bright red orange. Because my nails were painted with gel polish, the polish could not simply be removed and would take another 30 to 40 minutes to soak and have it drilled off of my nails. So they could not timely correct the issue. I assumed that they would not charge me for the nails considering they drastically messed up the color. Or at least give me a discount. I assumed wrong. They insisted on charging me full price. After complaining of being charged full price for wrongly painted nails, oof the technicians offered to take off a mere five dollars off of this $45 service. I ended up paying for bright orange nails that I never asked for. I think that this is a failure of customer service, and I am deeply disappointed that they would treat a regular patron in this manner. read more

Came to this spot today to get my acrylics removed and an eye brow wax. My nails where removed but took over an hour and got a mani in that same time frame. The removal wasn't complete and the mani wasn't that great. Still have in trimmed/cut cuties. My nails are uneven and left without polish. My brows aren't even and was told it's just a clean up not a shape up so I guess I'll be going somewhere else to get fixed up. Payed $42 plus a tip and yes I tipped total $47. I don't get my nails done all too often due to work but if and when I do, I trust Peter to do a great job. Prior to getting engaged I texted him a photo of something I was wanting for my nails and he recreated it perfectly on my natural nails. When it came to the wedding, I sent him another photo and asked him for an acrylic set and it was exactly what I was looking for! He listens to what you ask for and tailors the nails to your liking. I even noticed a little bump on the surface of the nail when he was buffing chrome in and he filed it down and redid it without any issue or complaint. The rest of the techs are also lovely, and they did a really nice job on my moms nails as well! We both got our nails done the Wednesday before my Saturday wedding and it lasted me well over 3 weeks, a little less for my mom who is more tough in her hands. I came back to get them removed and replaced with regular gel polish and he was able to recreate an airbrush design for me as well. Prices are reasonable and appointments are easy to book. They don't back up their work, if your nails gets ruined after 2 days they will charge additional $5 per nail. Also they are not clear about pricing so they say one thing and then they change price once you are sitting there. I do my nails every other week at a different place and quality doesn't compare I also asked for my nails to be a little shorter but the young lady cut as short as she could- really annoying- so she got her extra $5 that I was going to give anyway on top of what I had previously paid but since she said it was this business policy to charge for this and gave me no option - I think they are not backing up their quality and I'm never coming back read more

This place is awesome. I came in for acrylics and a gel pedicure. Cindy did my acrylics and took great care of me. She definitely took her time to ensure my nails came out perfect. Indeed, my nails came out so beautiful!! I'm in love with them. Yen took care of my pedicure and she was so precise in making sure she cut off all my dead skin (gross, I know!) By far, this is the best pedicure I've gotten. Not to mention she was very thorough with my foot and leg massage and even used a hot stone to massage me! I had higher hopes and it's sad that this is such a bad review. I think I had Peter, he never really introduced himself or talked much. The largest bit he used to grind my nails was very rough. The Emory board file to line the nail side was also very rough. He cut open my index finger cuticle. None of my nails are the same size, let alone the same as the opposite side. I asked for very short nails and it resulted in my index finger being cut diagonally. The paint is already chipping on that same index finger. I asked if they had a certain OPI color and they looked at me like I was speaking Spanish... so I chose andnjust guesses and ended up with something I'm OK with but not in love with. Overall, $42 not including tip for a crappy gel mani sucks. 2 stars to the selection of colors, mermaid nails, dips, etc. and they had good music on. Supposedly the check in also gives you a free scrub and wine though I think they should offer the wine regardless personally... read more

I want to preface this with everyone was very kind and i'm sure the nail services are great but do not get waxed here, it's just not a service they really specialize in and it shows. it's my fault for going to a nail salon to get my legs waxed but it ended up being the worst wax of my life. they took me in right away (yay) and it was fine at first (the room was a little sketch but again i'm at a nail salon so i wasn't expecting anything bougie) After a while it started to feel like she was going over the same spots over and over and it got to a point where it hurt when she put the wax on and i could definitely smell the wax burning in the warmer. after more than an hour and a half i had to speak up and say "you know what i didn't know i'd be here this long and i gotta go" and she said okay give me five minutes. she wiped my legs off and i went to go pay and the girls were looking at the price board on the wall trying to figure out how much it was supposed to cost. I ended up paying $45 ($40 for half leg wax, $1 credit card fee, $4 tip) and when i got back to my car my legs still had bits of wax/wax strips all over and i had some patches of hair left. I want to give her the benefit of the doubt because i did cut her off but it was almost two hours and i don't know how much longer i would've been there had i not. read more

Cindy did a beautiful tie dye full set on me and was so sweet and kind throughout the process. With each step she checked with me to make sure we were on the same page and had the same vision in mind. Everyone at this salon was very sweet and friendly, even while keeping up with a busy Saturday on a holiday weekend, during covid! Cindy is truly talented at acrylics and can really surprise you with how perfect the outcome is! I usually always find at least one imperfection when I get my nails done, but for the first time I left a salon without anything I would change. Very unprofessional. I have been coming to Cindy to get my nails done since March. Also sent a $20 deposit and confirm every appointment. It has now been twice with Cindy and her brother that I have had confirmation and show up to my appointment to then be turned around because they have someone else at the time that is my appointment slot. Completely disregarding my appointment! Very unprofessional! No one has time to drive to a nail salon that you sent deposit and confirmed appointment to then be told "oh sorry forgot about your appointment." Please save yourself the time and gas! read more

I'd had a few good pedicures by an older lady here, so I went again to inquire about getting a manicure that would strengthen my nails after having an episode with Chilblains during the winter months that damaged my nail beds and made them a bit bumpy. The woman said I should have powder nails to strengthen them, which I went along with even though I didn't know how it worked. She directed me to another older lady who proceeded to use an electric sander to sand my nails, even though I'd had just regular nail polish on them. I thought she was simply removing the nail polish before I realized she was actually sanding my natural nails down to the quick. She then proceeded to cover them with acetone and place foil around them. At that point, I asked her why on earth she was doing that, and told her I needed to talk to someone who spoke English. She became quite indignant, insisting she spoke perfectly good English. She finally got what I was saying and why I was objecting. She then proceeded with the powder dip, which ended up being really thick and ugly. Later that evening, my nails hurt so badly, I had to take several rounds of pain killers. When I had the powder nails removed a couple of weeks later at a different salon, I discovered the woman at Angel Nails had sanded down my nail beds so badly, there were dark brown spots where they had been bleeding underneath the powder nails. It's been three months since this incident, and it will take another four months or so for my healthy, natural nails to grow out. I will never have a professional manicure again after enduring what I did at Angel Nails. read more
