I really wanted to love this place because I live in the neighborhood and prefer supporting local salons. Unfortunately, this was my second disappointing experience, and this time was much worse. I noticed right after I left that my nails didn't look great, but I definitely didn't expect them to start chipping the same day. The gel was already missing on two nails, and one nail that was broken when I came in was just filed down with gel applied over it instead of being properly repaired. It broke again shortly after. After only a week, I ended up going back to my regular nail salon to have the entire gel manicure redone because the quality just wasn't there. I don't usually leave negative reviews, but I was really disappointed, especially after giving this salon a second chance. I was hoping to find a great local spot, but unfortunately this wasn't it. Not worth it. Unsure how they have great reviews. read more

I went with the volcanic pedicure. OMG! The scent was amazing and my technician? An angel with her hands I got painted gel nails in the prettiest of reds.. was even offered a Vietnamese coffee. In La Jolla for the Labor Day wknd and made an appt for 2:15... manager said I'd need to wait about 10-15 mins. Became a bit concerned as there was initial chaos in working in the walk-ins vs appts; however, it was quickly resolved. They have a large array of colors (by the book) to choose from and the massage chair worked perfectly. The pedicure (sea breeze) was completed with great expertise from prep, scrub, clipping to polish. I definitely recommend this sand will come back when in town. read more

Petty did a great job on shaping and painting my nails. I haven't had a manicure in a while so my cuticles were kinda out of control and my nails have lately been shorter than I like, but they still turned out looking great after this manicure. I wanted a spring green color and they had exactly what I was looking for. I decided to get gel this time but I heard they also offer dip. This was the first time I've tried Charm Nails, and the experience was great. They fortunately had space for me as a walk in on a Sunday, and the salon was clean and appeared to have very modern tools, supplies, and decor. I never got to try the salon that was here before, but this one does look better in appearance. Petty was able to finish up with her previous customer and get to me within ten minutes of my arrival. I really appreciated that no one tried to upsell me during the entire experience, either. Not only are the shapes of my nails great, but there's also no visible bumps in the gel, which can sometimes happen with lighter matte colors. Petty was efficient but also paid close attention to detail with each nail. As I mentioned, I haven't had my nails done in a while so I don't know what the average going rate for a gel manicure is, but this one was $45 and I feel like that's pretty fair. I will likely be back here specifically for my next manicure that I get done in La Jolla. read more

Had a wonderful pedicure today with Morgan! She was marvelous. I got the Boss pedicure ($55) that comes with paraffin wax, hot stone massage, massage and oil and it was literally heaven!!! I asked her to be very gentle like I was a baby and she did just that. It was so relaxing and her massage was heavenly. Also, Morgan was METICULOUS with making sure my nails were perfect. The nail salon is really pretty and relaxing. They say they prefer cash tips so that is what I gave her. Next time I'm in town I am gonna come visit her again. Thank you sweet Morgan!!! read more

Best nails everrrrr! I have traveled all over the world, and this is the best nail salon I've ever been to. Young was my nail tech and she is so kind, professional she listens and did exactly what I asked for. My situation is unique because I need four fingers shorter on my left hand in order to play guitar, but she was able to balance them out with my right hand, so they looked really beautiful. She also did pride nails for me, which turned out super cute. She charged exactly what she said she would. This is the only nail salon that I've been to that did not try to upsell me or overcharge me. I gave her a nice tip to thank her for the incredible job she did. Definitely definitely coming back.
