This place is a treasure. It's so easy to get an appointment, and they take pride in their work! My favorite, Jessie, is on vacation. So they assigned me to Jasmine. She was really wonderful too! I always do reflexology, which is super relaxing. 75 mins. for $89 cash or $99 credit card & I'm a new person. Thank you, Jasmine and team! read more

Had great experience with Jenny therapist! She doesn't speak English but I wasn't a problem

I went in for a 90 minute deep tissue massage, Ivy was incredible. Her pressure and technique was perfect and so thorough. i felt like a new person after. Everything was clean and comfortable, the bed was heated. My only minor note was that the music playing on the speakers sounded a little depressing, and it was easy to hear people talking in the hallway. Other than that, love this spot and will be back. read more

This is my go to place! The therapists are thorough, skilled and I leave relaxed without breaking the bank! I love the reflexology (foot soak, focal point on legs and feet and foot scrub) heavenly. Gina is incredible, wow wow wow, and Kay at the front desk is so professional and sweet! You will not regret a massage day here read more

Tweaked my neck and same day booked via website since it's on my way home and i needed someone to manhandle me and fix my tweaked neck/shoulder. I have a high tolerance for pain and i usually like a firm massage.. but Julie humbled me with the experience today. 99 bucks cash for 90 minutes of "fixing your computer" neck and hands (full body). this woman was trying to jab her elbow from the back side of my body through to my front - and vice versa. I asked for a firm massage and i got more than i anticipated. definitely had to hold my breathe a few moments to try and not cry out in pain.. but it was kind of a good ouch.. definitely not relaxing.. a therapeutic fix me by breaking me experience. Definitely questioning what massage school or training this woman received.. i think her objective was to shred me to threads with her elbow. all in all a no frills chinese massage .. clean overall but genuinely no frills. no fancy oils offered.. no talking.. same classical music on repeat and somewhat thin walls. she shmooshed and squashed me and elbowed the shit out of every fiber in my body. key thing: fixed the shoulder .. but now i'm sore throughout but in kind of a masochistic feels good through the pain kind of way. They didn't offer anything to drink after.. and it was pretty much get in.. get out.. and nothing more or less. Tipped at 25% cuz she put in that elbow work. I'm still reeling from having nerves and blood vessels elbowed to death .. but hey.. she fixed my shoulder! granted i didn't speak up much except for when she really made me see stars from the pain.. but she did a good job. I may.. return for another round of deprecating cristian grey massage therapy... just glad to have my neck and shoulder back. read more

I've been here a few times and have always been happy with the experience. The website requires a deposit when booking. The location has many rooms, and the front desk staff is helpful and thorough when collecting all the necessary information for the masseuse. They also offer monthly specials and weekday deals. read more

One of the best massages I have ever received. A 60 min deep tissue full body massage with Cindy. She was a master at pressure points, working out all the knots. The front desk staff were welcoming, professional and courteous. $79 cash price, $89 credit card The space is zen, the massage table comfy, ambiance perfect. I cannot wait to return! read more

My husband and I booked here for a valentine's day couples massage because the spot we normally go to was booked up, and that ended up being a blessing in disguise! Mary and Anita were amazing and we both agreed they were the best massages we've ever had. Especially with the longer scalp massage. Heavenly! One thing I really loved is that before the massage they filled out a little card with the type of pressure we want, where we want extra focus, where we don't want any focus, etc. It made it more personalized to our preferences. They still checked in a few times to make sure the pressure was good, which was nice. It's safe to say THIS is our new spot! Can't wait to come back! read more

A very neat and clean place. Booked a couples massage. We were welcomed by Kay who was very pleasant and answered all my questions regarding oils and the prices. She noted our preferences for oil aroma, strength level of massage and areas of concern. The masseuse was very polite and periodically asked if the pressure was ok. We were relaxed after an hour and felt very light. One thing that surprised me that they didnt offer water or green tea and we felt really thirsty driving back. read more

Massage Concepts - Massage Near Me - San Diego, California

My friend and I had a shocking and unacceptable experience at this massage place. After our session, we went home and discovered multiple painful, itchy bed bug bites on my body. We had no bites or symptoms before the massage, so it's clear the issue occurred during my visit. When we returned to the store to notify them and kindly suggested they stop accepting new clients and contact pest control, hoping to prevent others from being harmed, the owner responded with hostility. Instead of showing any concern or responsibility, she accused us of lying, dismissed our complaint as "making a fuss," and even threatened to call security to remove us. She went so far as to say her husband is a white lawyer, and told us that as immigrants, we "don't understand American culture or law." That is blatant discrimination and an insult to all customers. This place is unsanitary, unprofessional, and openly discriminatory. If you value your health, safety, and dignity--stay away. read more

Great experience from start to finish. It was an incredible 2-hour massage with an incredible price point.

a wonderful, clean, amazing massage place!! i've had so many people but my favorite i've had is Anita. They have so many options to choose from and everyone there is so nice read more

The massage quality degrades with late afternoon massages. I have seen that the earlier in the day you book the more expert masseuses you get and you get a really good outcome. Between 11 and 1 pm is the magic time. Anything after that I have not had the best as I had early in the day. The masseuses don't speak much English so it becomes important how they are instructed by the person at the front desk. Today was one of those days where everything had to go wrong. I booked a massage late afternoon, and then I got a masseuse who was very challenged in following guidance. TBH, part of the responsibility lies with the front desk person taking notes of what is the clients preference and I definitely feel they didn't communicate to this person the full specifications. On top of poor massaging skills my masseuse wasn't great with time distribution. I booked an eighty minute massage where I needed attention on both upper and lower body but she spent working on my upper back most of the time which was also poor hand skills. When I tried communicating my experience to the person at the front desk she was receptive and patient but she also made the whole thing about which particular masseuse I had before where I was happy with their work. She told me she would leave a note in my file that get people with whom I had better experience, making it sound like because I didn't get my preferred masseuse I had complaints. Fun fact is I have never had the same person twice. So it's not about a preferred masseuse. Finally, they just left me with complementary add-ons next time I go to them, not to mention there was nothing appealing about the add-ons, I don't even use them on my regular massage appointments. read more

I've visited Massage Concepts multiple times since moving here 2 years ago. The staff is always lovely and I have never left disappointed! I love that you can do a mix of Swedish and deep tissue, that way you can have relaxation but also address those painful knots. And they always have great promotions and deals! I would highly recommend this place. read more

I think the secret is out at this place. Unlike most things in Del Mar, it is reasonably priced, with good availability... My brother gifted me a massage here as a first time Mother's Day present - I can't believe I lived within walking distance and had no idea about it! But ever since I've been trying to find excuses to return. For someone who prefers a very firm pressure, this place provides exactly what I'm wanting out of my massages. Would highly recommend for an affordable self-care treat. read more

I feel bad writing this review because the massage therapist was very nice, but 90 min head to toe massage was unbearingly painful. When I checked in, I specifically asked for a Swedish massage with medium pressure (like I always do, but maybe that's where I went wrong here). I get massages quarterly and have never in my life ever had a massage that was so rough. I was wincing in pain most of the massage and the massage therapist just kept digging into the same spots over and over. It didn't feel like a "massage" and more like someone digging their elbows into my knots repeatedly for 90 minutes. The 90 min combo massage was supposed to include 20 minutes of the "tech buster" (shoulder, arm, hand), which I was looking the most forward to, but my arms/hands were almost completely skipped over. When I said something afterwards, the girls at the front desk said it was because I didn't specifically ask for that area to be focused... I didnt know I had to ask for that because it was literally written in the description and why I booked that specific service. I drove all the way up from South San Diego because my friend recommended this place for the price but I left feeling worse than I did walking in. It's the next day and my lower back is so sore it hurts to even lay down. I wish I wouldn't have even done it, I was hoping for relaxing experience but it was anything but that. Won't be back. read more

This is right across my office so I booked a 45 min massage as I had acute shoulder pain. I accidentally booked the wrong massage but they honored the price. The lady who checked me in asked me specific questions and the masseuse delivered. The checkout was easy. I would definitely come back here! read more

I came here with two other people and all of us loved our massages! Two of us got the head to two massage and the other got the athlete massage. We all came out feeling much better. I would say this is a massage place without the frills. There is no extra stuff for relaxation and it is mainly focused on the quality of massage rather than making it feel like a spa. This was fine best massage I've had before. I had a deep tissue massage and felt like all my knots were worked out. It was painful but worth it. Overall I will be coming back and recommending others to try this place out. read more

Massage Concepts is my go-to spot for massages. From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere is welcoming, relaxing, and professional. The entire experience is professional, clean and thorough. If you're looking for a place that is professional, calming, and provides excellent care, I highly recommend Massage Concepts! read more

I had mowan? Muhan? I dont know but it was the worst massage of my life. Dry hands, i asked for hot stones and never got them. I dont think ive ever felt so exposed she kept my butt cheeks out and kept massaging them. It didnt feel professional whatsoever. Will not be returning. read more

Woke up in a lot of pain today. Randomly called them up and fortunately they had an opening. Turns out this is right near the place we get groceries and I've never known it was here. Had an absolutely amazing massage. Clearly the therapists have a LOT of years of experience. I gave them a rough idea of where it hurt most and (with no extra prompting) they found all the trigger points that were causing pain and worked them. Have not felt this much pain relief in a very long time. Unbelievable massage. Very reasonable prices (especially for the area). Completely shocked at how good I feel now. More than worth the cost. read more

One of the best massages I've ever had. Had a bit of assisted stretching and it was amazing. I will be back!

Worst front desk experience I've ever had. On the morning of 10/5/25, I called the Del Mar location to ask about their services and pricing. I wanted to understand the difference between the 130- minute Lunar Moon Festival special, the Tuesday promotion, and their regular services. The front desk receptionist was shockingly rude and unhelpful. Instead of answering my simple question, she told me she didn't make the prices, that I should "complain to the owner," and that she was too busy with other customers. When I explained I was just trying to figure out the best value, she became irritated and snapped that all the information was on the website. If everything was clear online, why would I need to call? I was treated as if I were a problem instead of a potential customer. The receptionist's impatience and dismissive attitude made me feel completely unwelcome. For a business that's supposed to offer peace and relaxation, hiring someone at the front desk who is so rude and unprofessional is beyond ironic. If this is how they treat people before even booking, I can't imagine how they value their customers afterward. read more

I've been coming here for awhile now (about a year). I have found a therapist I like that gives extremely deep tissue massages to me. I've tried several therapists here and each has their own unique specialty but I am happy with the therapist I work with. Pricing is reasonable and parking is easy as long as it's not a Friday or Saturday night! I am always greeted promptly and services last the duration of the time expected...you bought a 60 minute or 90 minute massage and that's what you'll get. I appreciate this. I would recommend you try them out! They have specials during hr holidays with their pricing and gift cards. read more

I have been going to Massage concepts for years! Nancy is my go to massage therapist. She gives the best deep tissue massage! Very relaxing rooms with music, heated beds and no talking! Prices are reasonable and you can save 10% if you pay with cash. Highly recommend. read more

My boyfriend and I went for a couples massage. The staff were very nice. My boyfriend loved his massage just the right amount of pressure and focus on his areas of pain. My message was good but a little bit too gentle for my liking. I even asked for deep pressure at the beginning while my boyfriend asked for medium and it seemed like he got more. He was sore after and I was not. Besides that the place was clean and comfortable. I would go again. read more

Very aggressive... I told them to go softer also, was not enjoyable. It wasn't painful because of pressure it was just being rubbed around and pulled. read more

Susan was amazing! Provided great pressure and relaxing ambiance! A wonderful experience overall.

This place was quite unexpected! I was in so much pain from stress and muscle tension. I booked all the bells and whistles at the last minute with someone I didn't know. It was 120 minutes, and she was amazing! More than I expected. I don't understand why people complain about non-English-speaking workers. You can tell your requests to the lady at the front desk. The lady who did my service did not speak much English, but she was great!!! If you want all the things a high-end spa can offer, you will probably pay more. This place is clean, relaxing, and provides great service for a reasonable price. Thank you so much! I will be coming back. read more

I really needed both a lower/middle back massage as well as my upper right shoulder. I asked for a "firm" deep-tissue massage and boy, that is what I got...and needed. I was able to book a massage on line the same day and at a convenient time. The price was a very good value. This was my first time here...and it was a little hard to find, as you need to find the right set of stairs to walk up to the 2nd floor and walk down a long hallway...so, I suggest you call for instructions before your first massage. Net-net-I highly recommend and will return when needed. read more

Took my wife here for her birthday. Both of us agree this is quite literally the greatest massage we have ever had. Staff is over-the-top friendly. Decent prices. Prompt and courteous. Will absolutely be returning. Can't recommend this place enough. read more

Today is my birthday, and I decided to treat myself to a massage. I've never been here before and thought I would give it a whirl. Check-in was super fast and then I was brought to a room and instructed to get on the table and then the massage technician came in. The massage itself was really good. The technician barely spoke a word to me, but she got all of the spots that I would have hoped she would have gotten. The only bummer was they are doing construction next-door and I don't know if this is the case for all of the rooms but the room that I was in it literally sounded like they were hammering and drilling in the wall during the entire Massage. Unfortunately not very relaxing. My body feels good but sadly it wasn't the full relaxation I was hoping for. Hopefully the construction was only today or very temporary. UPDATE: I very kindly just heard from the manager, and they let me know that they are actively working on the construction issue and they now have an agreement that the construction will only happen in the morning and they will have clients in a different expanded area of the Massage clinic in the mornings so it won't be a problem. I really appreciate them reaching out to me!! Very happily will return!! read more

priced more like a spa but massage staff dont seem to be trained. went with some friends for a papering session and were disappointed. lots of unskilled use of elbows. we were all grossly sore for days. the staff didn't perform the advertised services and barely spoke any English. certainly not worth the $s spent and pain we all endured for days. read more

It was our first time here and massage was mediocre at best - I don't think we got our money's worth. We asked for a deep tissue massage and it felt more like a rub with main use of the forearm and slightly higher pressure.. the massage therapist didn't dig into the muscles at all. Also, the first 15 min consisted of a pat down over the blanket... it was kind of weird and a waste of time. We didn't sign any papers, didn't meet our massage therapists face to face, and they didn't ask us what areas to focus on.. I'm sure if we had the right massage therapists, it would have been a better experience. We got Jasmine and.. Wendy? Pros: - quick and easy to book online, we were able to book for the next day - easy location to find at the Del Mar Plaza, 2nd fl - friendly staff - small but clean reception area - $5 off for first timers Cons: - mediocre massage, not worth the money - tight space in the room - massage therapists didn't speak much English or bothered to ask what areas to target - thin walls, you can hear people walking down the hallway - head rest was uncomfortable read more

People are always friendly, and the massages are usually great. I probably go 3-4x per year and will continue coming back. My only complaint is having someone I like that no longer works there when I return. Though this is probably common in this business. read more

This is my go to place for massages these days. This place is upstairs at the Del Mar Highlands Town Center. It's a very nice and calming atmosphere... always clean. These tiny ladies have super strong hand and the deep tissue massages are great at working out those knots in tight muscles. The pricings is reasonable and it's really easy to book appointments online. They also have a cash discount which is nice. Give it a try... you won't be disappointed! read more
