Dr. Erika spent at least 30 minutes on the phone with me as I was making my appointment, she said she had the time as she was on her lunch break! She made it clear to me that this was not just a "pop shop", I just made that up, but many of us have been to a chiropractor where they lay you down and just "pop" your back and out you go.....sure you might feel better, temporarily, but that's about it. My first visit with Dr. Erika consisted of her getting to know me, and my problems, and she gave me more education as far as how nutrition effected my body than any one else ever has. Oh, sure, she told me things I didn't want to hear, as far as how eating the right foods will make a huge difference in my total health, not just my back pain.......I'm not gonna lie, I wanted her to treat me, and send me on my way.....and say I could continue eating anything , and it wouldn't adversely affect my overall health. While she didn't do that, she explained why certain foods would cause inflammation for me. I have a totally different outlook now, I always just thought "bad" food was nothing more than fattening, and who doesn't cheat with that?! Dr. Erika didn't make me feel like I would be deprived of foods I love, and gave me plenty of advice as far as just changing things up. The biggest thing is, she knows I'm human, and didn't judge or make fun of me for taking baby steps as far as changing my eating habits ! Run, don't walk ( unless your back really hurts.... then hobble!) to see Dr. Erika! Thanks, Dr. E!!! Jo
