I stopped in this Walgreens to pick up a few items for a local business I was helping with their Halloween Decorations. They did not have real pumpkins, unfortunately, but they did have some porcelain ones that were nice. I picked one of those up that were hollow in the inside for candy. One thing that drove me nuts her was how slow the line at the register was. There was a good line at the single register and the young lady at the register was seriously taking her time. That was not what really bothered me however, what really got on my nerves that a couple of employees walked by and did not even offer to open the other register to help out, even when one of the customers was having an issue with a receipt and was making the process take even longer. I recently sent the majority of my prescriptions to a mail order pharmacy, not all, but most. I did this because of the time it took for my caretaker/spouse to pick them up. WALGREENS instead decided to send ALL OF MY PRESCRIPTIONS to the mail order pharmacy. According to law, there is no reason why they can't fill a couple of my prescriptions, IF IT WOULD BE MORE CONVENIENT FOR ME!!! I think it's because I decided to transfer some of them that they decided to be MEAN SPIRITED ABOUT THE WHOLE THING. That would be, Pharmacist MISTY, who was always, always so kind to us. I brought in my film on Feb 24th to be developed. called a week later and they weren't ready. Called again March 6th then again on March 10th and it wasn't until then that they communicated there was a delay. It is March 16 and I STILL have nothing. I am highly unsatisfied and will be going elsewhere to have my photos developed from now on. I have never had an issue like this elsewhere. read more

The pharmacy has zero customers service. They just don't care. They will hold up your prescription for days with little or no reason. Good luck trying to reach the pharmacy on the phone. The drive through pick up window is a total nightmare and going inside isn't really much better. read more

This review is based off of their pharmacy! I went through the drive thru to pick up a prescription, as this wasn't my go-to pharmacy anymore. The let me know that my insurance can't be processed for the prescription. They offered for me to pay sales price which was fine since I didn't want to have to make another trip. The pharmacy tech Jamie also let me know they didn't have my prescription ready but they'd put it together. It took less than 5 minutes for her to have the order ready to go. She let me know they were able to apply a discount! This was super unexpected but so appreciated! read more

I have been going to this pharmacy for years. I had a prescription called in on Thursday May 23, 2024 for pain pill every 12 hours for pain. Thursday- prescription not ready, issue with insurance. Friday - Called and was told that they would have it ready Saturday. Saturday- checked the app, nothing Sunday - Nothing Monday - Holiday - Closed Tuesday - called told it would be ready, showed up and nothing. I told them I will come back tomorrow. They said they would have it ready. Wednesday - this happens. Still no prescription. Told I need to go to the end of the line. Why there was no line at first. Plus I waited since Thursday and this is my 3rd time here. Was told to go to the end of the line or they are going to call the cops and cancel my prescription. I was so infuriated. First off this is a civil issue, what are the cops going to do? Secondly, you are canceling my prescription because of your mess up? When I called corporate to complain that the pharmacist called the cops on me. I was told that the pharmacy has a timer and they get dinged if they go over a particular amount of time so this is why they don't want you waiting at the window and they tell you to go to the end of the line. Bottom line, if you are in need this is not a pharmacy for you or your family! read more

We got our COVID tests done here before traveling to Hawaii. They were pretty good with giving us instructions for the nasal swabs ourselves. We did the quick drive by test and that process was pretty short and concise. We got our test results back within 24 hours with no hitches. We have heard of bad experiences where people did not get their results back due to damage during transportation. For travelers who need quick results back, I'd highly recommend this place. read more

This pharmacy holds pain medication hostage as well treats those prescribed as divients! I was leaving town. Had proof, my hardcopy documentation shows can fill today....Oh no you can't. I have been using this pharmacy for years and the last year has been HORRIBLE. I literally wonder how many lives have been lost or alter because this pharmacy is so negligent. From not answering the phones, at all, to not filling prescriptions on time. I have called numerous times just to sit on hold with the automated system and to ultimately be hung up on because the system must get overloaded with people trying to get through. It's absolutely mind blowing that they are still in business. If you are sick, need medication in a timely manner, rely on a medication for survival... I BEG YOU, GO TO ANOTHER PHARMACY!!!! Made to wait 45 minutes for my COVID vaccine, even though I had an appointment! Adding insult to injury, they called the appt after mine, before me. When I protested, I was still made to wait until they were finished with that person. Lots of boisterous chatter behind the counter while I waited. Did not sound like they were discussing business. I regret not checking Yelp before going. Apparently they do this a lot. Never again. Plenty of competition out there. read more

7/6/24 they failed miserably and today 7/7/24 they failed even worse at admitting their fault. The pharmacist, I think her name is Naima would not admit to the mistake and would not try to correct the situation. I came home from the hospital yesterday and the doctor had called in a prescription. When the doctor called in I called Walgreens from the hospital to make sure they got it and we were all set. At that point, I told them that I needed to have it the same day and I wasn't able to drive so she told me they could do same-day delivery with DoorDash. Once the prescription was ready I went on the app, chose same day delivery, paid $5.99 and a tip and then I waited. The order never arrived. Walgreens closed at six. I needed the medicine by 8 PM. I called DoorDash to find out what happened and to see if it was just going to be late. I checked the Walgreens app and it said out for delivery but it was going to be delivered two days from now. Terrible! Remember, I had a conversation with Walgreens employee and then I did exactly what they told me which was going on the app and select same day delivery. DoorDash said yes we see that we were supposed to pick it up but Walgreens never confirmed the pick up, so we couldn't assign a Dasher. I couldn't believe it. I called the El Cajon Walgreens, which is open 24 hours. They were very nice and they checked and saw that they had the med I need. She said at first she had to check if they had it so that was a little worrying to think that I might not be able to find it there either but when she told me they had it, I said I was so grateful and she said she was too because after she took out the pills I needed there were only one or two left. So that was good. It was too late to DoorDash at that point so I had to have someone drive out to El Cajon to pick up the med and I finally got it. This morning I called the Walgreens on Navajo and they put me on hold again even though I tried to explain quickly that I needed to talk to someone in authority about a really terrible situation they just kept putting me on hold. I called at 10 AM on the dot. I finally got to a pharmacy tech but I don't remember his name and he issued the refund and he actually apologized, which was nice. Then I asked him if I could talk to the pharmacy manager because I wanted to have them understand what happened so they could correct it for the future. I didn't want anyone else to go through what I did. He said the pharmacy manager wasn't there today but he could connect me to the pharmacist. After being put on hold again, Niaimi picked up the phone and said I couldn't help you before but we had a line going. I told her I called at 10 on the dot I should've been the first call. She said well we have to take ones in line and one from the phone and we had people waiting. She could've just said I'm really sorry. That never occurred to her apparently. I've been on hold very long time. I explained to her what happened yesterday with the order and she immediately started telling me different reasons why it wasn't their fault. I said well I called DoorDash and they told me they were ready to come get it, but you never confirmed the order. She said well I show that your order was called in at 4:46 PM. This wasn't true since the doctor called it in before I left the hospital at one. And then I confirmed the order and confirmed same-day delivery at some point after that I thought it was around 330 or something I'm pretty sure DoorDash told me they received it at 3:46 and then something else happened in their system at 3:47 but it was never confirmed. I thought maybe I misunderstood and it was actually 4:46 That's still before 5 PM. I told Niaimi I didn't appreciate her trying to find reasons they weren't responsible but that she should try to figure out what went wrong so it would never happen again. She kept insisting they didn't get the order in time and said if you want us to call DoorDash right now together we can do that and I said actually Niaimi I'm sick. I feel like throwing up, so I don't think I wanna go through a three way call with you. I said you can call DoorDash since I've already spoken with them and you can figure out what failed on your end. I said what you shouldn't do is tell your customer all the reason you might not be responsible. At that point, she said I will try to call them today but we're very busy. Again an excuse. It's just kind of sad, terrible customer service. I know this much though, I will never ever go to Walgreens on Navajo again ever. Not because of the mistake that was obviously made, but because of the failure of the pharmacist to take responsibility and use it as an opportunity for better training for people, or maybe a chance to really exhibit some great customer service. I caution you against using this store, at least the pharmacy. read more

The pictures are always quick to be ready and I have always had good quality and have been content. Every now and then I'll grab a make up or health and beauty item while I am here but I almost always grab that stuff at target because it is cheaper. I have never been to a pharmacy that manages to screw up my prescription every single time I come. I get a text that my prescription is ready right after the text that says I have no refills. I call to make sure it's ready and they say it is. I show up and oopsie, they are out of stock. The minute I drive away I get a text that its ready.. And so it goes month after month. Requested a prescription refill online. I went in to pick it up and the Pharmacist was soo rude. I guess my prescription had expired (news to me!). It's a PRN for a chronic condition so I don't need to fill it often. He snidely told me the BY LAW PRESCRIPTIONS ARE ONLY GOOD FOR ONE YEAR. I filled it last July although I thought I had refilled it more recently because I saw my PCP in April of this year for a check up. He did say he could fax my PCP to request a new prescription after browbeating me about the date I last filled it ( thanks I guess??) but I declined. I'll call my PCP myself and ask for it to be sent to a different Walgreens so I don't need to deal with him again. Edited to add: I just got home and checked my empty/old prescription bottle and it says I have 3 refills before 9/30/2022. How would I know I couldn't refill it past July? I had even brought up the September date for refills to the pharmacist and he just spoke louder over me telling me NO. On the plus side, the gentleman who told me to "have a great day" that was standing behind the counter on the way out smiled and waved when he said it. How pleasant! read more

Wife & I visit this Walgreens only for pharmacy. One of our health insurers is Tricare. For whatever reason, CVS does not accept Tricare. Normally pharmacy service is outstanding. Yesterday I had a not so stellar service experience, hence 3-star rating. I walked to pharmacy and was happy to discover no waiting line. Often there is a line. There was one customer ahead of me being serviced by a pharmacy technician. Great I thought, within a minute I should be able to drop off my prescription. Five minutes go by. I empathized with customer ahead of me who's prescription was being rejected by his insurer. The pharmacy technician to her credit was placing phone calls trying to rectify the situation. I'b been waiting almost 10 minutes when a car arrived at drive thru lane. Pharmacy technician called out, "Brandon, please help this car at drive thru". Wait just a minute. There's a second pharmacy technician named Brandon who could have helped me at the second counter register? Even after Brandon completes service at drive thru, I'm still left waiting. Once pharmacy technician completed service for customer ahead of me, I finally was called forward. Service from that point forward was fine. Yet there's no excuse for leaving a customer waiting while other pharmacy staff is available. read more

I am a FOREVER customer now. Went to CVS at grossmont center where I thought a pre-op prescription had been filled. Turns out my HCP accidentally sent my prescription to a random Walgreens in La Jolla that I've never been to. I call Walgreens on Navajo and ask if they can transfer the prescription as I have a medical procedure in 12 hours (I had been traveling for work a few weeks before the procedure and did not have the opportunity to pick it up sooner). She said no since it's a controlled substance it can't be transferred, a new prescription needs to be called in. It's currently 8pm at night. Pharmacist (Mai, my savior) gets on the phone and says "let me call after hours and see if they'll rewrite it for you, but we close at 9. Worst case the Walgreens in El Cajon is open 24 hours and you can go there." I called at 8:06 for the transfer. Mai called me back at 8:18 that she made the request, and at 8:26 she called back again and said she got it handled and to come in for pick up. Twenty minutes flat - and I cried when I picked it up because had she not gone the extra mile to help, I would not have been prepared for my medical procedure as planned. She told me don't cry, get some rest and it'll be OK... an absolute angel the exuded so much kindness and concern for a complete stranger. Walgreens, I'm committed to for this one. read more

(Excluding the young male manager working tonight extremely nice) but for the Girl names IBITMA (Iraqi) young woman, she was the rudest and was training a new employee. Pharmacy Review-Unacceptable customer service!!! I have never had a more frustrating experience than with this pharmacy. My insurance changed and the pharmacy personnel were rude and very unprofessional when it came to helping me with my existing prescription. I could hear them in the back talking negatively about me and laughing. Was my request for assistance that much of an inconvenience? I stood in line to ask to talk to a manager but none were available. I later called the store to talk to a manager and left my name and number to discuss my experience with the unprofessional staff. Nobody deserves to be treated like this. Please consider hiring professional, friendly staff. All 3 pharmacy techs and the pharmacist were extremely rude. Needless to say i canceled my prescription and went to another competing pharmacy who was more than happy to assist. read more

Clearly Walgreens is using slave labor, and demanding they work short staff. Now it appears they do not have ANYBODY to answer their phones. We already know they ignore you when you go in to the pharmacy to get something. Now if you need to contact them by phone, it has taken us over 1 HOUR to get ANYBODY to pick up the phone.
