Had a simultaneous interesting and infuriating experience when i was here yesterday. Went into to pick up my pictures and Vicky the clerk asked for my name. I told her but also spelled it out. My name is pronounced Skyler but is in the traditional Dutch spelling, and I made a point to spell out that letters so there would be no confusion, which understandably happens at times. Vicky, though, went way beyond that, and made fun and mocked my name to her coworkers, and was laughing at me. It was insanely disrespectful. I was stunned at what she was saying and doing. This is THE BEST PHARMACY... this side of the west..... I have been to many.... this puts all to shame... All the ladies that work in there are SUPER PROFESSIONAL and VERY NICE, they always have an answer and always answer the phone... They are on top of things...ohhhh and did I say... DRIVE THRU... come on... no lines... who wouldn't want to drive thru? note to self... they take a lunch break between 12 and 130 (not sure of exact times) on Saturdays.. so... make note of that... so you don't miss the boat... The wrong doctor was listed as my physician on a prescription, so I called earlier this week, and someone supposedly corrected it while I was still on the phone call with them, and they said that they had just faxed the refill request to this doctor. I received a text from the automated system, two days later, telling me that this same medication needed a refill, and it had to be authorized by the physician. Replying with "refill" would be issuing a request for them to get the auth for the refill. Today, I received an email that said the refill request was denied... by the WRONG DOCTOR who was supposed to not be associated with this prescription anymore. I called to have this fixed. I was on hold for 20 minutes, while driving in the area to run errands. During this time, my phone call was picked up no fewer than five times, and placed back hold, with no courtesy "pretending to ask for permission to be placed on hold, but you know they're just going to do it anyway." I finally drove there, while still on hold, and explained the issue to the pharmacy tech. They said they were fixing it for me "right now," and verified the (correct) doctor's address. And I keep getting "helpful" updates from the automated system that says one of my prescription refills are delayed because it needs the doctor's authorization. This is so irritating, to reminded that because their system is messed up, that I can't get my meds! read more

This review covers the photo department and general customer service, to which I happily give them a big fat goose egg. Having my digital pictures printed never fails to be a stressful experience for me. The machine's broken and there's no one to help me or whatever. Guaranteed it's always something. So today, I take a deep breath before I walk in and tell myself, ok, here we go. Hope for the best. I download my pictures from my USB stick, choose the sizes, get my receipt. All is well. I go off, run some errands (one of which includes buying frozen food which I put in my trunk), and go back to Walgreens to pick up my pictures. Shockingly (and I say that facetiously), the photo guy forgot to print my pictures. So he tells me nothing, just runs around (or what passes for running around for twenty-somethings these days - walking in circles like a headless chicken), and finally gives me one of the pictures which had been printed. I guess he printed one and got distracted by something shiny. Five minutes later he hands me THE SAME PICTURE AGAIN. I said, umm, no, this is the same picture you already gave me. Oh, he says. Goes back to his chicken-without-a-head routine and comes back with another picture. Another few minutes go by and he produces the third one. Yippie skippy, after a half hour I'm almost done! Not so fast, it appears he has forgotten how to use the cash register. More of the chicken routine. I finally give up on my feathered friend and try the front cashier. I tell her Chicken Little back there can't ring this up. She rings it up, no problem, while I regale my story. Her response? I dropped of my pictures during their lunch break. No sorry, no nothing. **PHARMACY Review, not the store.** Pharmacy wait is horrible. Drive thru is futile and calling in only results in dropped call after being on hold for over 20 minutes. Consumer relations department at 1-800-925-4733. You can also contact them via email at consumerrelations.bb@walgreens.com I went in for a re-fill (before I ran out) but after almost three weeks there has been no progress. I have contacted my doctor and insurance. I have visited the pharmacy, (attempted) called, and submitted online refill requests. No problem resolution and the staff seems overwhelmed. Other customers politely complained about the long waits and inoperable drive thru. I spoke with a Walgreens employee named Josh. I commend him on his customer service but me informed be that the store management is separate from the pharmacy. I commend him on his professional demeanor. Please consider adding staff to this pharmacy even if it's seasonal or rotating from other locations. I found the staff friendly but unable to follow up what seemed to be a simple, unexpired re-fill. Turns out some communication between the insurance and doctor's office was needed but it has taken since DEC 27 until JAN 18 with no refill, no call back, no communication other than a Walgreens online message stating that no action required other than getting insurance approval. I will be changing pharmacists after this prescription is filled. Last, WALGREENS ONLINE CONTACT US option: 3 attempts lost online. My Walgreens notices were lost because the online email erased my message after having to locate the pharmacy address. This is very upsetting as well. Please consider that lost or unsent messages may affect Walgreens future business. I may just snail mail this in. I am not angry or upset. I do not leave negative reviews but when I do I really hope to improve the business. I read other negative reviews about the pharmacy and seems like nothing has improved. read more

I'm a big Walgreens fan over Rite Aid or CVS. Many of the reasons is because the employees here are always friendly and the pharmacist also has time to answer your questions about any drug interactions that you may be worried about. This Walgreens is pretty good, clean and organized. Only wish they were 24hours like some of their other locations. read more

Like most Walgreens locations, this place is understaffed, so there is almost always a line. Sometimes the drive thru takes longer than just parking and walking inside, since they alternate serving one drive thru customer with one in-store customer. There are two pharmacy techs I love - one is named Andrea and she is caring and efficient, the other is a blonde gentleman whose name I can't recall. Pharmacist Laura is great - she got to know my husband and me well when we were visiting regularly, and would inquire how we were doing with a particular medicine. She seems to have a genuine concern for and personal connection with customers, which is hard to do at a busy location like this. The other employees are brusque at best. I attribute this to being overworked (and probably underpaid). I wish Walgreens would show some initiative and hire more than the bare minimum, so that patients could have a better experience. Still, this location is light years ahead of the closest CVS. read more

I came in here to specifically buy some gifts for a senior citizen home program. The residents left a card for their desired gift, and the customer buys that gift, and leaves it in a designated box. The employees will wrap and deliver the gifts for Christmas. The employess were very helpful, taking time to show me merchandise location, etc. The store seems well-maintained and stocked. Horrible drive thru.....not only is it very slow but when you pull up Ive had several employees not even acknowledge that i had pulled up. I had one kid last week look at me not say anything and then walk away. I have a feeling they do not have the proper amount of employees working. read more

I have always had good experiences at this Walgreen's and came here regularly when I lived in La Mesa. The staff has always been very friendly and extremely helpful and very kind to my dog who I would bring regularly. I miss this location and the people who work here. read more

Received a gift card as a present and the gift card purchase receipt for it. Now the card was never properly activated, cause I called the gift card company and they said it was never activated and needed to be done at the store of purchase. So as I went there and told them what happen, they can't do anything about it, and that they have a sign sayin no refunds or exchanges. And they won't even scan it or check the history of purchase. Called the gift card customer service and was wow'd about the response that the Wallgreens gave. The rep experienced the same issue and said Wal-Mart did it for her when she had a dud gift card. So for my situation I filed a claim with the gift card company, hoping it will work. If not, then the store gain 25 dollars of profit without anyone purchasing read more

This is the best Walgreens location! I find myself stopping here multiple times a week as they have a wide range of products. Food, medicine, makeup, toys, even clothing... you can find it here. There is a ton of parking in the front. The store is very spacious and easy to navigate. It is always clean, organized, and well stocked. In the back right hand corner you can find the pharmacy which is really quick. The staff here has great customer service! I'm always greeted upon entering and they are helpful at finding items. The wait also isn't very long as they will open multiple lines to ensure a fast checking out process. read more

Pharmacy sucks. Been sitting here in the drive through for about 7 minutes now. They've told me twice that they'll be with me in 1 min. I can see them inside bagging prescriptions. I don't understand why they can stop what they're doing for just a minute to take a quick 30 seconds to get my prescription. There's a long line behind me too. Both Jimmy and Aaron in the photo department are stand-out employees. I encountered Aaron first, when I called to ask if it would be possible to print an option that was not available on the photo ordering section of their website. I don't even shop here but I came in mainly because Aaron had such an attentive and positive attitude. At the store, both Aaron and Jimmy went above and beyond and did not give up making certain I received the tricky photo I came in for. All I can say is it isn't at all typical to find one employee who is resourceful, helpful, and solution-driven... and being waited on by two like that was awesome. read more

Love the weekly ad with great coupon deals, along with monthly Easy Saver catalog rebates, and occasional codes for free prints in the photo lab. Sales are great when items are available, but Walgreens has a stocking problem - items are frequently out of stock.. One goes in with 4 or 5 coupons hoping to get a deal, and often walk out wiht less that half the tiems and agrravated by having to find someone to check stock. Often only one register is open and it can get a bit backed up before they open another one. Store is a little messy, but not as bad as many of the other Walgreens in SD ! read more

So I had gotten sick and needed some pain meds so I head down to Walgreens and put the prescription in. I thought I was covered on my plan but I was not so the pharmacist helped me. Not only did she help by calling my doctor and switching to a much more affordable med she even found a coupon for me to use and as a struggling art student that was super helpful and appreciated she really saved me Andrea you are an angel and a blessing to the world read more

I've been here a few times now and I have nothing bad to say about this Walgreens at all. I am always greeted friendly and had some nice conversations with one of the cashiers (wish I remembered her name). I always find what I need and never have to wait in line too long to be rung up. read more

Love this store! The people are super nice and very helpful, and I give the pharmacy itself an A++! I worked in pharmacy so I know what goes on both behind the scenes and how customers can/should be treated. This group of techs, clerks, and pharmacists (just 2 Dr Rx that I've met, not a dozen like other nearby pharmacies) hit the mark every time. This is my pharmacy and so I also go here to buy a couple odds and ends often. It's a clean store with good customer service and the pharmacy is great, they always have your prescription on time and they do things commonsensibly without you having to ask. I haven't had any problems with them yet, and that's very rare for me as I have a lot of prescriptions. I'd suggest them for a pharmacy and there's no reason to not shop here either. read more
