It was amazing - imagine a manicure where they put paraffin wax on your hands and then massage your arms, the whole arm, with a warm lotion!! It was amazing! The atmosphere is warm and inviting. They sat me in a pedicure chair and put a board over the armrest and did my manicure while I put my feet up on an ottoman. They make you feel so welcome. BeBe did a great job on my nails. also appreciate Naomi's service with scheduling my appointment, checkin, checkout, and guidance about where to shop. We had reservations for 2 for a mani/pedi. Upon arriving we were greeted quickly and sat down. The staff then offered complimentary water, wine, hard seltzer or sangria! I had the sangria and it was good! Not to sweet. Jenny and Michelle did my nails (not sure which one did my mani). My pedicure was good. Got the classic. However my manicure was not. My nails were uneven and I had to ask the nail tech to fix them multiple times. Underneath my nail was not clean so I left with some polish there. The side of nails were a bit clumpy. Tried this place twice, not so nice. I read the reviews and they were mixed so I decided to give it a try. I got a gel manicure and regular pedicure. The tech that did my manicure probably cut me on 6 different fingers when trimming my cuticles. My nails looked good, as long as you didn't look at the inflamed red cuticles. My pedicure was average. Didn't learn my lesson and went back a second time with a different tech. My manicure was much better but my pedicure was much worse. My pedicure didn't start until 40 minutes after my appointment time which made me have an almost 2 hour nail visit. Then my tech cut my toenails super crooked. I asked her to fix them but nope. The regular polish was so old it looked like tar. I asked for another bottle but apparently they didn't have one. I would have chosen another color but since my hands and feet weren't done at the same time, I was stuck. When I was finally done, my shoes were soaking wet. The pedicure tech put the wet used tub liner on my shoes after she finished my crappy pedicure. Positives were a convenient location and parking. read more

I rarely give bad reviews, but I've been getting my nails done since I was in HS and I don't think I've ever had a more unhygienic painful nail experience. For starts I got gelx w cat eye which is $95 in total. The lady who did my nails pushed my nail bed back with her thumb nails... ok that's a first and pretty nasty. She never soaked my nails so when she was cutting down my cuticle it was so painful and I actually started bleeding. The nails turned out fine but immediately after my skin started peeling and it looks so unsightly and hurts. I saw similar reviews after I got my nails done:// don't recommend. read more

I found the service at Nail LAX to be very professional from the minute I called to make my appointment to my actual experience in the nail salon. They are definitely still adhering to COVID precautions which is pretty thoughtful for their staff as well as customers. Masks are required, limiting clients allowed inside and they make sure to sanitize the seats and equipment as well. The services I received included a SNS/dip powder manicure (with a gel coat on top) and a gel pedicure. Both of the nail manicurist were polite, didn't say too much but that was fine. I was more pleased with my gel pedicure. I think she did a flawless job with the nail shape and cuticle care. As for the SNS, the only one critique I'd have about is that perhaps the nail could've had an additional coat on top because the tip of the nail looks see-through. Not the end of the world though. Usually SNS last about 3-4 weeks on me so, fingers crossed this one will do the same. I paid $102 in total for both services and left tip as well. read more

I started coming here when I moved to a nearby area. Maybe 2019/2020ish. Quality was excellent and I feel like they had some really talented hip nail artists. Stopped going for awhile and was doing my nails at home and trying out this really amazing celebrity gel x artist. My nails would look good for 6 weeks! Trying to save money, I start coming back here for more than pedis. A lot of the previous nail artists no longer worked here. Even front desk changed. Based on experience, I only got acrylics done here because they seemed to only do nice gel manicures with design and my nails are very short. First four times I got acrylic done, fine. But in recent months, the shape was just off. It's like she was carelessly filing the sidewalls so she would Nick the corners of my nails and kinda mess up the square acrylic look. Shape is everything to me for nails so if one side looks square and the other is coffin, not good. But it was my last visit that made me realize this wasn't the same quality I was used to. I asked for a gel overlay. In most shops, that's builder or rubber base gel. It's flexible and extra strength for gel manis. I was offered hard gel which is basically a gel version of acrylic nails. I kept trying to explain that I just wanted a stronger gel mani but they said this was what I wanted. The shape was all iffy, no apex, sidewalls were filed too narrow (even worst because it's my REAL nail), and the hard gel wasn't capped at the end. Me, unfamiliar, didn't have an initial reaction because I haven't worn my natural length in years. Then the hard gel start lifting. And cracking. And breaking off. Or leaving me no choice but to break it off because of how it was lifting. My acrylics or gel x can last for WEEKS. This $60 nail service didn't last me a week. Also my pedis even start looking sloppy. I understand being busy but it's sucks that my favorite nail salon is now never my first choice when I need my nails done. read more

The technician was rude and in a rush when there were only two customers being serviced so I'm not sure why she was in such a hurry. One week in and my nails are lifting and one already broke. This was my very first time visiting this establishment. Being a transplant from TX, I am in the process of looking for new... EVERYTHING (hair stylists, nail salon, masseuse, etc.)! I found this place on Yelp and gave it a try, but I'm not quite certain that I'll be returning just yet. The shop itself is very nice. The aesthetics was very appeasing and those who work there were very nice. Prices are a bit pricey to put it to you straight. You pay for everything down to an extra fee for the length of your nails. My natural nail, mind you. The pedicure I receive was not as expected as I got home and my feet were not smooth as one should have it after receiving a pedicure. I contacted the store and they basically told me that for their basic pedicure, it just comes with a "clean up scrub with our disposable pumice stone" and for an add-on service, I could add a Callus Treatment. Huh?! This is the FIRST place I've ever been that has this as an add-on with a fancy name. They did offer a discount on it for my next visit, however. I basically went to Marshalls and purchased my own because they play too much. Oh... and their pedicure bowls DO NOT have jets (is this a norm in LA?). No drinks (alcoholic/non-alcoholic) were offered either. I got my nails done on Tuesday, and now today, Sunday, I have 2 chipped nails (mind you, this is DIP), polish already thinning, and a loss of money. I used to go to Simply Nail Bar in El Segundo (wonderful salon) but they recently moved to Hermosa, so I decided to find a new salon in el segundo and came across this place. I tried GelX for the first time & ouch!! I'm not sure if the lady was new to this method but imagine getting a nail solid glued on & then having her remove it with no tools because she put it on crooked. It got to a point where I finally pulled my hand away & said ouch that really hurts. Mind you, I'm never one to complain. I've never had to. She just giggled, never apologized. The appointment took 2 hours!! Service was okay. Not really friendly. I left okay. That was one month ago. Fast forward to today, I decided to give them another try. I called for a morning appt for tomorrow for Gel only nails & a regular pedi. The lady was rude, & asked for a $10 deposit via Venmo in order to book. I don't have that service so I asked her if there's another way. She said no. I told her well I'd have to go elsewhere & she said okay bye. Rude!! I've never experienced this in any salon! Unfortunately, the person who did my mani/pedi was rough in trimming nails/cuticles/skin as well as too rough when scrubbing my heels. I felt pain but didn't see anything but one cut which he addressed right away. However the next day the pain was worse, I found a major cut in my heel and under one of my nails. I was looking for a quick lunchtime mani/pedi during the work day, and I guess at bare minimum I did get that. The vibes were fine (I saw complaints of that, but I thought it was cute). While I read reviews in advance and wasn't expecting the best experience of my life, I was just hoping for cleaned up hands and feet and decently painted nails. I hoped for far too much. I got a regular manicure/pedicure and they did both at the same time. I have small nails and they recently all broke so I'd filed them short. I picked a polish for my mani that apparently was extremely old, yet the technician used it anyway and said absolutely nothing. Tons of air bubbles, chunky and uneven. After 2 coats, I could still see my nail in stripes and others were so thick and gloopy. The paint job itself was literally all over my hands. I had to clean it up by picking polish off my skin when i got back to work. It chipped literally the next day, and by two days later it looked like a week old manicure. Was $28 and not even REMOTELY worth it. I wish I could say it was the worst manicure I'd ever had, but it's the second worse ha. The pedicure was a little bit better - $30. The actual polish job was good compared to the nails. Downsides were: She cut my nails into extremely blunt squares without asking and didn't even them out. The corners were so sharp and ended up cracking in my shoes and socks the next day so I filed them into rounded edges (which I would have preferred in the first place) and now it looks better. But the real nail in the coffin is that she cut the side of my foot while using the scrubber too aggressively. I had noticed it hurt in the moment but didn't notice until I got back to my desk that I was actually full on bleeding. I guess if you're getting gel or something maybe it's fine and the technicians know what they're doing, but truly, deeply not worth it. Go elsewhere. read more

The worst nail experience I've ever had in my life. I haven't had my nails professionally done in years and I decided to treat myself today. Unfortunately I came here to get my nails done. I sent them a picture for inspo before I got there and they said they could do something similar. I wasn't expecting perfection but I was expecting basic skill. First red flag was the dirty towel she put on the table. Second red flag was that she did absolutely no prep, no care for my nail beds and a high speed drill on my natural nails. I asked for acrylic overlay and I was expecting for it to be on my natural nails but as soon as she sat down she cut my nails so short and started adding tips. I let it slide because I thought maybe there was a miscommunication my end so I just accepted it. I'll post a picture of the design I wanted, it was on natural nails. The nail design didn't seem that complicated to me especially for a professional but she was having a lot of trouble with the design. The design looked horrible, with each finger she did I got more and more sure that I would not be happy with the end result. She got 4 or five fingers in and I decided to just ask her to do French tips on the rest of the fingers because I didn't want to be there any longer. I was already mentally preparing myself to have to go home and fix my nails myself. She rushed the French tips and finished me off with cuticle oil and asked me to rub it in myself. I know she could tell I was upset if she did nothing to remedy the situation. She allowed me to walk out with nails that look like a child had done them. I paid $90 for nails that I had to go home and fix myself. I can see that they do decent sets from their yelp photos. Why was my experience so half a** and careless? There was acrylic under my nails, lumpy acrylic, horrible design and horrible service. I have a felling that if I looked like some of the other customers my experience would have been a lot better. read more

Standard Southbay, pricing, efficient and thorough service, no massage chairs, but the oversized, plush chairs are very comfortable! Had a broken nail that my manicurist insisted on fixing, and she did a beautiful job, then in order to take a picture (for Yelp because I was so happy with my service) I messed up a nail getting my phone out and she insisted on fixing it even though it was *definitely* my fault. I'm not sure why the staff changed entirely in the last 6 months but the service has deteriorated compared to my previous visits. Both my techs were pushy in upgrading the services but did a really poor job. Once I chose the classic pedicure package over the recommended deluxe, my pedicure tech's demeanor changed entirely and rushed through the rest of it. When I asked for a 3rd coat, she applied it as if pretending to do it to a child during play leaving uneven color and nail polish all over my skin. For my manicure, I got hard gel and did not want any extensions which the tech pushed heavily on. The hard gel process was extremely messy with residue all over me by the end of it. Without a thorough cleanup, she went directly to color. Despite asking multiple times to not make it thick and uneven, I have multiple fingers that are thick, uneven and nail polish on my cuticles including clear coat all over. I've loved coming here in the past but todays experience has me looking elsewhere :( read more

Absolutely not!! L Tim and Trisha are great as I am sure the other techs are, but ownership needs to take business management courses. She is consistently and that is rude. The last straw was a couple of months ago it was suggested I put sparkle on top for the holidays. I didn't like it and they, not the tech, but management charged me $18 to remove it and re-color my nails. Mind you they waited until the polish was off before shoving the credit card machine in front of me. I made it clear this was not acceptable. $18 same appt and remove the glitter I initially didn't ask for. When I complained I got a call the next morning stating the owner would credit me $9. Still not right, but I agreed. I went in just recently and there was no credit under my profile instead when I called twice to make an appt and got VM it was because my profile said not to serve me because I complained about pricing. Don't even get me started on the fact they used same product that's used to scrub your feet with on your cuticles. Asked for another tech. Got attitude for it. I used to frequent this place back in 2021 closer to when they first opened. Bonnie and Michelle were my go-to nail techs and I really liked their work. I came back about a month ago for a gel-x set removal and the nail tech was a little rude and didn't listen to my request when it came to the filing shape. I asked her to file my nails based on my natural nail curve and she filed them so they looked square. Maybe she was upset I didn't want to do another gel-x set or thought I didn't tip enough? Not sure why I got an annoyed attitude from her. Edwin (the old receptionist) isn't there anymore but the new receptionist was also great! This is the second time this happened I asked the owner /manager to look at them in the sun light that had dents everywhere the dip powder was uneven . She even admitted she didn't understand what had happened . The fact that the owner did not want to come outside so I could show him show such a lack of customer service it's pathetic and you're charging 120 . Two nails needed to be replaced and without asking, they were cut all the way off and replaced with horrible acrylics (I requested gel dip) The nails were flat, unattractive and not the shape desired or the same length as my other nails.
