I booked a Gel extension manicure and a regular gel pedicure. The pedicure went fine, but the manicure was a nightmare. The nail tech did not apply any oil before cuticle care and aggressively pushed and cut my cuticles while dry--to the point where I was bleeding. I told her it hurt, but she continued.
Then, when it was time for polish, I confirmed again that I was getting a Gel extension manicure. Instead of applying extensions, she painted my nails with gel. When I asked what was going on, I was then told they didn't offer Gel extensions and that I would have to remove what they had just applied and switch to Dip extensions instead. Had they told me this upfront, I would have chosen differently, but at that point, I just wanted to salvage the experience.
Unfortunately, the rest of the Dip manicure was just as rough and painful as the cuticle care. What was supposed to be a relaxing self-care day with my mom turned into such a stressful experience that I started crying in the salon.
To make matters worse, when I went to pay, they tried to charge me $103--despite the fact that my hands were visibly cut and I was pressured into a service I never asked for. When I complained, they told me I "should have spoken up earlier" and only gave me a 10% discount.
What makes this experience even worse is the complete lack of accountability from the salon. Instead of acknowledging their mistakes--like failing to inform me about the lack of Gel extensions, causing visible injuries to my cuticles, and pressuring me into a different service--they blamed me for not speaking up sooner. But how could I have known they didn't offer the service I booked until they were already halfway through my manicure?
A good salon should prioritize customer comfort, transparency, and proper technique--none of which I experienced here. I left feeling physically hurt, emotionally drained, and completely disrespected as a paying customer.
If you're looking for a relaxing and professional nail experience, this is not the place. Save yourself the stress (and the cuts) and go somewhere that actually cares about its clients.
