Place not for me. I came for a pedicure. The lady picked up an old used file ( old see nail polish on it). It was in a plastic tray on her cart. The nail cuticle cutter was in a ziplock bag on top of cotton balls hanging off the rolling cart they use to push around their tools. They did not have instruments in sterilized bags.. Sterilized equipment is a must for me no matter how nice the establishment looks. I walked out! I will not go back and would not recommend. Walked out!!! read more

Did a walk in for a full set and a pedicure at 5pm on a Tuesday. Never came to this salon before so I figured I'd try it out. Happy I did because it was great! The ladies were friendly and were able to get me started asap. I talked with Stacey about what I was looking for and showed her a picture and she got to work. She Was very communicative about the shape I wanted and checked in with me multiple times to make sure they were looking how I wanted. They took their time and the nails looked amazing! The absolute best manicure that I've had in a while & at a reasonable price. I was very grateful for the care Jenni took with removing polish with drilling my nails down. I loved the color and that she was patient with me to pick a different color when the first one wasnt good. The only thing that made me sad was that I did got it too soon before my vacation and didn't have time to come back for a retouch (2 weeks). It was my first time coming here since i was looking for places who will do acrylic just on the big toe and shellac on the rest. Every place i called was 70+ dollars and this place does it for 55$! I walked in at 4:34pm on a Thursday for a refill on my nails and a pedicure. A lady asked me what I needed and I told her. One of employees gets up from doing a pedicure and says they can only do my pedicure cause they don't have enough workers. She asked if that was okay and I said, "no...". (From a customer perspective Why would I just do one thing and have to come back again tomorrow???) The lady got upset and was like, "Okay, go then!" Rude!!!! Never come here - short staffed and shellac is very thin and will not look good unless you get white as a color. read more

She asked what I wanted I was able to file a nail EXACTLY how I wanted it and she was able to execute all the nails perfectly! I dropped in for a fill. No appointment. I picked out my color and almost immediately was able to sit down. She filled my nails, took her time, made them thin like I like. She asked me how I liked them and did a great job doing it. Yes, they were busy and she did get up a few times to take money, answer questions, etc... But I wasn't in a rush and I work for a busy company so I understand. Overall, I was happy with the job she did and THAT is why they are getting 5 stars from me. My nails look beautiful! A word to the owner: Ya'll really should use totally new nail files with each person or at least have a way if sanitizing the files. It's just weird to sit down and see an already used file with other peoples nail shavings still on it. I'm sure it wouldn't cost too much extra and it would help your customers have a better time! I work in the spring area but I live by the galleria. I usually get my nails done by where I live but I was in a rush so I couldn't make it to my usual nail tech. I stopped by to get a pedicure but after the lady suggested a manicure I went ahead and got a full set. The pedicure was okay but the full set ended looking dreadful the girl that did it was in a rush and I had to tell her multiple times that the nails were uneven I left I tipped out of courtesy but I will never go back to this place ever again. read more

Not the best experience here, I've been doing dip for a while and wanted a regular manicure to have the dip off and start strengthening my nails. Most of my nails came out a bit too rugged... the nail color is nice though but that's about it. The cuticles weren't pushed back either so I have quite a bit left, also, I got nicked by the filing tool they use and I think she got a bit too carried away on my REAL nail instead of taking the time to have the powder soak- I was one of two customers. Just wanted the acrylic soaked off my natural nails and a manicure... smh I was charged 23 dollars for nails Phillip let soak 4 minutes then used the drill on. I still have acrylic on my nails and the girl who did my manicure didn't even massage my hands and the polish looks like my 2 year old son painted my nails. I got a full set of solar nails. They did a decent job. I prefer that they file my nails more so that they are more rounded on the tops of my nails. They are a bit flat. I also have a small bubble on one of my nails. I can usually go about two weeks between fills but I will probably get them filled in about a week. So there was nobody in there and they took me fast the probably was when she did my nails they were different sizes and I had to tell her to fix it. The lady who did my nails was really nice but didn't really know what to do, she did my eyebrows and they were horrible and she cut it in half I don't recommend this place the only thing she did right was polish my toes It was also very expensive. read more

I wish I tried this salon sooner! I live three minutes away and am always around bc I shop at the Kroger next door but I've been trying all of the newer "shiner" salons popping up. Usually though when I go to those shops with the bells and whistles I go home having to nurse a cuticle or file a nail to my liking, but after coming to Modern Nails I'm super satisfied with my nails and how my tech made sure to not damage my nails and further. I went in after having taking acrylic/shellac off and so my nails/cuticles were a hot mess but Ann did a great job! The shop is clean and laid back and simply gets the job done. I'll def be back and totally understand why they are celebrating 15 years this year. read more

I'm willing to pay if it's gonna come out pretty. It was my first day at a new job the next day and I felt confident with my pretty nails. After reading some of these reviews ... can't believe I was at the same place. Ok so I stumbled upon this place and decided to give it a shot. I was a little skeptical because it was so empty and had a bit of an overpowering fake lavender smell... but it was nice and clean and they have the disposable basin liners for your pedicure --which is important if you don't want nail fungus. I had a basic spa mani pedi with Jason and Jenny. They both spoke great English and were really nice!! We all have our quirks when getting our nails done ( I don't like my finger cuticles cut at the top) and they didn't give me any attitude with my questions and requests. I go between a place in Houston and the lake and I would go back here... I've had a hard time finding a nail salon I like in Conroe and I would come back to Jenny and Jason! I don't like gel/shellac etc because after a few times all that filing thins your nails too much and it hurts...but I give Jason and Jenny thumbs up. My nails look great today ... no bubbles or problems. read more

WILL NEVER GO BACK!! Terrible customer service. I went in for a polish change on my acrylic nails. After I left all of my nails bubbled up. I went back to have them fixed and when I arrived I was told I wouldn't be charged. After she finished, she informed me that I would have to pay or she would REMOVE THE NAIL POLISH!!!!! SHE REFUSED TO CALL THE OWNER FOR ME TO SPEAK TO AND WAS INCREDIBLY UNPROFESSIONAL. TERRIBLE JOB, terrible customer service. When I had originally tried it out (3 months earlier) to have solar nails put on, my fingers were butchered and I was in pain for a week. I was a walk in on a Saturday afternoon and was seated quickly. The male technician/owner? tried to upsell me a couple of times but I knew what I wanted and got just that. I got the Hawaii pedicure, which was lovely. The technician assigned to me gave me a great lower leg and foot massage that was so relaxing. The pedi was well worth the money and I felt pampered by her. The basic mani was okay. It was done by another technician. My cuticles on my hands were in rough shape when I arrived and after much work still need some work. She made up for that with a nice full arm massage. Thanks, ladies! This was by far the worst nail experience I've ever had! I have been here once before and they did a bad job as well but I decided to give them another try and I regret it, firstly they told me that they couldn't cover the color I have on my nails so I had to get a new set, the guy was hurting me the entire time he was taking my old set off leaving my real nails in horrible condition, after putting the new set on he filed my nails so much that they were burning and aching. I asked for a coffin shape and what did I end up with nails that look like a 2 year old did them, every nail is a different shape, You see through my clear nails that he left red marks on all my nails from all the filing, I didn't say anything because I just wanted to get out of there, after paying $66 I walked out and the guy came out and stopped me saying they charged me wrong, he said I still needed to pay $7 more. I will not be coming to this nail salon ever again I suggest people think twice before walking into this place! If I could give them 0 stars I most definitely would!! read more
